A/N: Now, this next chapter may not have much changes, but it will leave some explanation about what happened to Rachel and Bonnie in the last chapter of this story near the end.
Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 27: Goliad
One morning, Jake was trying to form a cube with his body, albeit unsuccessfully, while Finn was trying to build a stick fort using twigs, which seemed more successful in comparison.
"What'ya building?", Jake asked just before Finn stopped building it.
"Um, it's just a little stick fort.", Finn replied.
"Oh, rad!", Jake grinned, shrinking to a suitable size to play with the Stick Fort.
"Look. It's just my size.", Jake said.
Finn and Jake both laughed while the magic dog climbed onto the top of the fort.
"Hey, get away from my fort, you big stinky monster!", Jake shouted, role-playing.
"I like it when you get small, Jake.", Finn said.
Jake then picked up a leaf from one of the sticks.
"Yeah, me too."
However, the stick fort started to shake mysteriously.
"Whoa, whoa!"
As a result of something, or someone, emerging from underneath it, the fort burst into pieces and Jake fell only to land on his legs. That someone was Peppermint Butler.
"Whoa, Peppermint Butler!", Finn shouted in surprise.
"Finn, Jake, the Princesses want to see you.", Peppermint Butler said.
Later, at the Candy Kingdom, Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum, now back to normal with slightly messy gum hair, a lab coat, and a pair of glasses, were walking down a set of stairs.
"As princess of Candy Kingdom, I'm in charge of a lot of candy people. They rely on me. I can't imagine what might happen to them if I was gone. And after our brush with death at the hands of the Lich, I realized something. Rae-Rae might be lucky thanks to her crown, but I'm not gonna live forever Finn.", PB said as she yawned while searching through her keys before turning to him and whispering. "I would if I could."
Finn and Jake stared worriedly at Bubblegum.
"But modern science just isn't there yet.", Bonnie began while Finn and Jake looked at each other.
"So I engineered a replacement who can live forever.", Bonnie stated as she unlocked the door.
Bubblegum then opened it, revealing Rachel, still as big as ever from 3 days and 11 hours ago, as well as the latest creation, which caught Finn and Jake's attention as they stared.
"We call her... Goliad.", Bonnie stated.
Finn and Jake walked towards Goliad.
"Wow!", Finn said, amazed.
"Aww! She's cute.", Jake added. "No wonder Rae-Rae's lookin' so cozy with her.
Jake tried to climb in her tub but Goliad pushed him out.
Jake laughed in response while Finn walked closer towards Goliad.
"Hi, Goliad. I'm Finn.", Finn greeted. "You've met Rae-Rae."
"And I'm Jake.", Jake added.
"Hi, Finn. Hi, Jake.", Goliad greeted.
"Hi, Goliad.", Finn greeted.
"Hi, Finn.", Goliad repeated quietly as Finn turned to Bonnie, who was now sitting on a small seat.
"What did you use to make her?", Finn asked.
"Oh, um...", Bonnie began as she started brushing Goliads's paw with a brush. "Pretty standard candy creature soup. Some acids, some algebra, and I threw in one of my baby teeth so she had my DNA."
"Wow, DNA?!", Finn and Jake said in surprise.
"Yeah. All it takes is just one little tooth, or...", Bonnie began before pulling out one small strand of Finn's hair. "...a single hair."
Bubblegum went back to brushing Goliad's paw.
"It's all it takes.", Bonnie said,
But then, Goliad moved her paw away from the brush. And yet, Bubblegum kept brushing in the same spot where her paw was.
"Princess Bubblegum, are you okay?", Jake asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm good. Haven't slept for a solid 16 hours, but... yeah, I'm good.", Bonnie assured.
"Aw, you should go to bed.", Jake advised. "Rae-Rae's lookin' pretty well-rested herself."
"I can't go to bed, Goliad has huge, mondo mama brains."
Goliad was then seen playing with a bunch of stuck together cubes.
"I still need to fill them with knowledge... about how to rule a kingdom.", Bonnie added, yawning.
Then, Finn and Jake went closer towards Bubblegum.
"What? Let us teach her.", Finn insisted. "Maybe let Rae-Rae help with us, too."
"Uhh, okay. I guess that will be all right.", Bonnie said.
"Yeah!", the two shouted, excited.
"Yeah! Teachers!", Jake shouted.
"Yeah, woo-hoo!", Finn shouted.
"Teach, teaching teachers.", Jake added.
Goliad looked at Finn and Jake as the human started running around towards the door and the dog stretched towards it in a pattern.
"Woow, woow, woow!", the two said in unison before turning to Rachel.
"Hey, Rae-Rae, wake up!", Finn said excitedly.
But no response came from the slumbering ice princess.
"She looks really out of it.", Jake said.
"Here, guys. Let me.", Bonnie insisted before tapping her shoulder.
Fortunately, the tap was only needed to wake her.
"Huh...? What...?", Rachel asked, getting up.
"I'm gonna need you to help Finn and Jake watch over Goliad and try to teach her about how to rule the kingdom.", Bonnie said, handing Rachel both the antidote for her currently blobby condition and some new clothes.
"Sure thing, PB.", Rachel grinned.
"You know, you don't have to stay here.", Bonnie said.
"No, no. I can help...", Rachel began before she yawned as she started on her way. "I am all for it..."
"C'mon, Goliad.", Finn said, following a drowsy Rachel outside just as Goliad followed them and Jake outside, too.
"See ya later, Princess! Get some sleep!", Finn called.
Princess Bubblegum started mumbling for a moment before realizing what Finn just said.
"Huh? Whu...? Bye guys..."
Then, she started to sleep.
Later, at the playground, Finn, Jake, and Rachel were showing Goliad around.
"Look, Goliad. This is a preschool. I'm gonna set up some obstacles and all that for you to learn on. Is that okay?", Finn asked, patting Goliad.
"Yeah, thanks Finn. I'm excited to learn.", Goliad grinned.
"Okay, great. Rae-Rae, you and Jake go and get some kids from inside to help with the lesson and such.", Finn invited.
"Okay. C'mon, Goliad.", Jake offered.
"Yeah. We're gonna get some of those kids... outside...", Rachel yawned as she, Jake, and Goliad then walked towards the preschool building while Finn walked away and went to find some items.
"Yes, guys."
Inside the preschool room, however, as Rachel, Jake, and Goliad walked inside, all they saw were the children being naughty and messing around, at which point Rachel passed out and fell asleep (whether it's from fainting or drowsiness, who knows?). Even a peanut child jumps up and down yelling and growling. Jake also noticed some two candy people trying to rip one of the children's arms off while he was laughing. One of them ripped his left arm off and started hitting him with it.
"Stinking, durken...", the red gumball/candy child said.
A marshmallow child was also seen eating some of the toys before suddenly, a screaming green candy person fell and got injured right next to him. The marshmallow then started bonking the blocks on him. And some more of them were messing with their nanny.
"Now, now, settle down.", the candy nanny said.
And Rachel (now back to normal and in her new clothes) was fast asleep as she was getting her face drawn on by a couple of kids, who both laughed together.
"Rae-Rae...", Jake groaned.
"Jake, these kids seem pretty scary.", Goliad said in worry.
"Ah, nah, these kids ain't nothin'! Kids groove doozyploon! Check this out.", Jake grinned.
He then walked towards the kids.
"Hey, there kids, who wants to play-", Jake began.
But then he got interrupted by the kids because they were shouting at him.
"Get him!", the peppermint kid shouted.
"Get that stink!", the peppermint kid added.
The kids then started running towards him.
"Uhh, easy now children. Easy-", Jake began.
The kids all then started climbing onto him.
"Get his brain! Get his brain!", the peanut child shouted.
Goliad stared in shock if not in worry.
"Get his eyes!", the peanut child urged.
Having had quite enough of their antics already, Jake breathed in, popped the kids off of him, and growled as he started growing into a gigantic size while also turning red.
"LISTEN UP!", Jake shouted, waking Rachel up as she yelped. "You kids better stop donkin' around! You're gonna mess up Goliad!"
The kids ran in fear and stood by one of the walls as Jake barked in rage.
"Wha...?!", Rachel said in a bit of shock herself.
"It's my way or the highway, get it?! I'm Don Juan Cherry Tempo! Now MARCH, GLIB BLOBBIT!", Jake demanded.
Then, the kids went outside before Jake shrank back to his normal size and turned back to his normal color.
"Don't be acting all crazy.", Jake said calmly.
"What just happened?", Rachel asked before she got up and walked out only to see her reflection and see markings on her face.
"And when did THIS happen?", Rachel said in surprise.
Moments later, she was now outside with Jake and Goliad as well as the kids as she scrubbed her face clean with water and a cloth near the obstacle course.
"Wow, holy shmow!", Jake said, amazed as he, Goliad, and the kids walked over to the obstacle course.
"Oh, hey, y'all are just in time. You ready to pop this croc's back, Dr. Goliad?", Finn asked.
"Yeah, I think so Finn. I've learned a real lot already so far. Sooo much... from Jake.", Goliad said, much to both Jake and Rachel's worry.
"Uh, you know, Finn... maybe this isn't such a good idea, actually.", Jake said worriedly.
"Oh, no, it's cool. I got helmets for everybody.", Finn assured.
"Jake, what happened?", Rachel asked.
"These kids were practically climbing all over me just to get my brain and my eyes...", Jake responded.
"So, then you had to...?", Rachel began before realizing what happened, given the shocking sight to wake up to.
"Uh-oh...", Rachel said in worry.
Later, Goliad and the children were starting to do the course.
"Okay, Goliad, you ready to lead?", Finn asked as he pulled out a stop watch.
"Ready!", Goliad said.
"Okay, in 3, 2, 1...", Finn began as Jake and Rachel looked on worriedly before he started the stop watch timer. "Go!"
"Oh, here we go...", Rachel groaned.
As expected, Goliad viciously reacted as her tail puffed up and she started mimicking Jake from earlier.
"Alright, listen up! You kids better stop donking around and get on that ramp!", Goliad urged before the kids started climbing up the ramp in fear.
Finn, Jake, and Rachel started worrying a lot.
"You're gonna mess up Goliad! I'm Don Juan Cherry Temp— Cherry Tempo! It's my way or the highway, Glob-globbit!", Goliad said as the kids started progressing with the course.
One of the kids tried to climb up onto to the next rock, but Goliad scared him off by mimicking Jake's bark.
"Stop! Stop! No, Goliad, no! Leading isn't about scaring people, you gotta stay calm and use your head. Use that beautiful brain, girlfriend.", Finn said.
"My brain? Are you sure?", Goliad asked.
"Yeah! Don't be shy. Try it on me, lead me.", Finn assured.
"Yeah... And maybe you could try leading me, too.", Rachel insisted.
"Okay, guys.", Goliad spoke.
Suddenly, an eye came out of her head, making Finn and Rachel uneasy. Before they knew it, Goliad's psychic powers showed themselves as she started to control both Finn and Rachel psychokinetically.
"Okay."
She made both Finn and Rachel do the entire course under Goliad's PK control.
Finn and Rachel both hit a bell and fell out of her spell with a gasp.
"No, Goliad, that's wrong, too.", Finn said.
"It's like being brainwashed by the Lich all over again...!", Rachel added as Jake stretched to Finn and Rachel in order to help them up as Rachel continued.
"You can't just control people or whatever, it's messed up!", Rachel shouted.
"No, Rachel. This way is good. Everyone did what I wanted. Really fast, no mistakes, calm like you said. This is definitely is the way to lead. Definitely.", Goliad said.
"Um, no, no. ...Wait, is that true?", Finn said, starting to ponder.
"C'mon, Goliad. Let's go see Princess Bubblegum.", Jake said.
Later, the trio headed to Bubblegum's bedroom and burst through her bedroom door.
"Princess! Princess!", Finn shouted.
"Goliad's got mind control powers!", Jake shouted.
"She got the wrong idea about leadership!", Rachel added.
"Oh, I was afraid this might happen. Where is she now?", Bonnie asked.
"She's chilling in the garden!", Finn shouted.
"We left her outside the garden!", Jake said at the same time.
Later, Bonnie went to the garden to meet up with Goliad.
"Hello, Goliad.", Bonnie said.
"Hello, Princess.", Goliad greeted.
"I hear that you learned a lot today.", Bonnie said.
"Yes, I led the children.", Goliad responded.
"But Finn and Rachel said you used yelling and mind control.", Bonnie responded.
"Yes, it was good.", Goliad responded.
"Goliad,", Bonnie began as a bee landed on her finger before, as she explained, picking up a flower with the bee getting some pollen from the flower. "Let me tell you about leadership. You see this fat bee? It's gentle and makes the flower happy, and pollinated. They both get what they need... and that's how leaders should be."
The bee then flew towards Goliad.
"No, Princess. Bee cares not for flower. If getting pollen hurts or kills flower, bee would not care.", Goliad said before smashing the bee with her paws."Bee is stronger than flower."
Goliad's third eye then appeared from the top of her head and not only revived the bee, but also started controlling the bee herself.
"Goliad is stronger than bee.", Goliad added as she moved the bee toward Finn, Jake, and Rachel to hurt and/or annoy them. "Goliad is stronger than all."
Princess Bubblegum gasped and started speaking in her mind.
"Oh, no. She's too far gone, too corrupted. If we're not careful, she can throw an ultra-tantrum and wang the castle apart. I will have to disassemble her and try again."
But being a psionic candy sphinx, Goliad read all of her thoughts and knew her plan.
"No, Princess.", Goliad discouraged before Bubblegum gasped and she spun her head towards her. "This is my castle now."
Goliad pounced behind Finn, Jake, and Rachel and jumped nearly to the top of the castle, destroying a wall in the process.
"Oh, donk...", Rachel said in worry.
"Don't worry, Princess. We'll stop her!", Finn assured.
"No, Finn. Here's the plan: Rachel and I are going to build another Candy Sphinx in my lab.", Bonnie said.
"That's right! It's the only thing that can possibly match her.", Rachel realized.
"Just keep her busy 'til we return.", Bonnie said before she and Rachel started running towards the lab.
"And don't think about the plan! She can read your minds!", Rachel warned.
Jake then stretched himself to the top of the castle with Finn, who hid around the corner of the destroyed wall and checked to see if the coast is clear. Unfortunately, Goliad controlled some candy people to attack. Fortunately, Finn and Jake tried to escape. However, Goliad then turned a corner and found Finn and Jake, who enlarged himself to scare Goliad; but he forgot she can read minds.
"Ugh, eyeball... Just tuck that eyeball back in its hole.", Jake thought.
Goliad was upset from the thought and made Jake eat all of the candy people she was controlling.
"Goliad, no!", Finn shouted as Jake fell off the edge and landed, groaning from the impact.
"Jake, don't swallow!", Finn shouted.
Meanwhile, Bonnie and Rachel were making another candy sphinx like last night. But then Bonnie spoke up.
"And now, for something new.", Bonnie said, pulling out a strand of golden hair.
"Hear, hear.", Rachel said, pulling out a piece of her gum-like hair.
Back outside, Goliad tried to read Finn's mind.
"Uhh, you're in Finn's bubble.", Finn said in worry.
Unfortunately for him, Goliad started reading his mind.
"Don't think of the plan... Think of something else. Think of something else.", Finn thought before unwittingly he thought of earlier with Bubblegum.
"Don't worry, Princess. We'll stop her!", Finn said in a flashback.
"No..., no..., no...!", Finn said in worry, trying not to think of the plan.
"No, Finn, she's too—", Bonnie began before Finn resisted Goliad's mind probe by making Princess Bubblegum's head a dolphin, which chirped and spewed out water from the hole.
"Anyway, like I was saying, she's far too powerful—"
Finn's mental resistance this time made Princess Bubblegum's head blow up.
Goliad started trying to focus more and get deeper into his thoughts as multiple Bubblegums appeared in Finn's mind.
"Finn, she's far too powerful. Here's the plan.", Bonnie said.
The mental resistance turned up again, turning each of the Princess Bubblegums turn into Finn as a baby.
"I'm a buff baby that can dance like a man.", the baby Finns sang before Goliad focused even more. "I can shake-ah my fanny, I can shake-ah my—waahh!"
The Baby Finns all melted and formed a giant Princess Bubblegum.
"Here's the plan. I'm going to—", Bonnie began.
"NNNNOOOOOOOOO!", Finn grunted as he pushed his resistance to the limit as another Finn appeared, just as tall as the Princess Bubblegum giantess, and wrapped her with the mud and grass from the floor.
"Goliad! No!", Bonnie shouted.
"Stop!", Rachel shouted.
Goliad stopped reading Finn's mind and looked at Bubblegum and a new Sphinx, with Finn's hair color, Rachel's blue skin and fur, and a bird head, resembling a griffin without wings. She ran away, but the new Sphinx kicked Goliad onto part of the Castle.
"Wait, brother, why must we fight? Rule with me!", Goliad shouted.
But the new sphinx squawked in response.
"No, brother! Don't you see? They're turning us against-"
The new sphinx squawked again, interrupting Goliad.
"So be it."
"Finn, are you okay?", Rachel asked as she and Bonnie caught up to him.
"Yeah, that dude saved me.", Finn responded.
"That's Stormo, Goliad's new brother.", Bonnie responded.
"Wha- What are they doing now?", Finn asked.
"They're about to have a psychic showdown.", Bonnie responded.
Stormo and Goliad spawned their third eyes out of their foreheads and began to fight as they pounced on each other, but their match proved to be a stalemate.
"Wow, man, so, like... I guess they're so evenly matched that it's a stale—", Jake began before spitting out Chet.
"It's a stale—"
Then, he spat out two more candy people.
"They're so evenly matched that it's a stalemate!", Finn said.
"Exactly.", Finn said.
"Yes. Stormo sacrificed himself to keep Goliad in check for all eternity.", Bonnie explained.
"Well, that's pretty cool, but... I don't understand. If Goliad and Stormo are the same, how come Stormo is a good guy?", Finn asked.
"Oh, that's simple: I used some of your heroic DNA in Stormo's recipe and not Goliad's.", Bonnie responded.
"And I added my own bit of gum hair, too. Turns out that me and Bonnie fusing have practically turned us into sisters with many similarities. Kinda like twins, except... not, I guess?", Rachel asked.
"Oh, whoa so, that means Stormo is like... my son?", Finn asked.
"No, Finn. Like 'our' son.", Rachel said.
"Well, yeah... in a way.", Bonnie responded before Rachel and Finn looked at Stormo, who continued to keep Goliad in check.
"Happy birthday, Stormo.", Finn and Rachel said in unison.
