Hello and welcome to another story that I've made that takes inspiration from JustyTurner with his Goblin Slayer FanFic Story, 'Goblin Slayer x Op Male reader: A Knight of hope'.
And once again, it is antithetical to JustyTurner's work as unlike the story I take inspiration from, which is basically a generic Isekai story, this one takes the grim and gritty nature that is prevalent to Goblin Slayer, almost on the level of Blood Meridian, if one can likewise exaggerate that.
It is also taken inspiration from Hunt: Showdown, a game where it is both a multiplayer competitive shooter and monster hunter slayer with the heavy usage of Western Guns being an indication as well as facing off horrific monsters and other Hunters where you're only trust is only yourself and your teammates and even then, it is a pretty hard game that let's you know that monter hunting isn't so glamorous as one can hope.

His sharp features are accentuated by deep-set, piercing blue eyes that seem to hold a world of sorrow and determination in them. He wears an all-black leather coat that flares out at the bottom, almost sweeping the ground, and a high collar that obscures the lower half of his face, adding to his enigmatic presence. His wide-brimmed hat, tilted slightly forward, casts an additional shadow over his eyes, allowing him to observe his surroundings without being easily seen. He dons a pair of dark sunglasses that lend a touch of coolness to his otherwise grim appearance. His iconic weapon, a revolver with a dagger implement on its barrel, is always holstered at his side, ready for action.
Personality Traits:
Gunslinger Hunter is stoic, calm, and collected, often appearing unapproachable to others due to his serious demeanor. His experiences have left him emotionally numb, especially when confronted with death and destruction. Despite this, there exists a flicker of empathy within him; he deeply cares for the innocent and feels a profound sense of duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves. He approaches monster slaying with a professional mentality, often taking on jobs with an unwavering commitment to finish what he started. His humor is dark, often laced with sarcasm, and his pragmatic outlook can come off as detached. However, when faced with genuine camaraderie or moments of warmth, he is capable of surprising depth, revealing a boy who longs for connection amidst a world of horrors.
Background:
Born in the Bayou, Gunslinger Hunter grew up amidst thick, creeping fog and an environment rife with danger. The swamps were a hellscape, filled with monstrosities that thrived under the oppressive rule of some great evil—legend spoke of a dark wizard or an ancient demon responsible for the land's twisted nature. Orphaned at a young age, he learned survival instinctively, observing the brutality of his surroundings and the treachery of human nature.
The Hunters Association became his refuge and his curse. It provided him with the means to fight back and earn a meager living but also exposed him to a world of rivalry and betrayal. He honed his skills, collecting weapons from fallen comrades and carving out a reputation as a merciless hunter of both monsters and corrupt hunters. Each battle left its mark on him, hardening him but also building a growing disillusionment with humanity's inherent greed and violence.
The day came when he had enough. After witnessing too many gruesome deaths—both monstrous and human—he made the fateful decision to leave the Bayou. Armed with his skills, his revolver, and a few precious belongings, he commandeered a horse and carriage, forging a path toward the Frontier, a realm of magic and mystery. Here, he held a flicker of hope that life could be different, that the horrors of his past might blend into distant memories, allowing him to forge a new identity as a protector rather than merely a survivor.

Theme Music:A haunting yet intense mix of western-themed instrumentals that echo his journey and the weight of his past, merging the ancient with the modern—a soundtrack of gunfire and magic, revenge, and hope.
