The next morning, Flynn was in his office within the SCHALE building, the hum of the city outside a distant murmur compared to the rustling of papers on his desk. He was sifting through several recruitment papers that hadn't been claimed by students, his mind still processing the weight of his announcement the day before. The entirety of Kivotos now knew he was the Sensei of SCHALE, and the responsibility of that title settled heavily on his shoulders.
As he was deep in thought, he noticed Isabeau entering his office. She walked with a purpose, her steps echoing softly on the polished floor. "Flynn," she began, her voice steady and professional. "I have to turn down another interview request from the Kronos School of Journalism."
Flynn nodded, glancing briefly at the recruitment papers before looking up at her. "Isabeau, I've already conducted several interviews after my speech yesterday," he replied, his voice carrying a mix of weariness and determination. "There's no need to do another interview on the same topic."
"That's true," Isabeau acknowledged. "Flynn, I've seen the videos about your speech yesterday, and Fubuki's right. The moment you summoned your demon to the podium, everyone's attention is on you."
"I know, and both allies and enemies alike will know who I am and my role as the Sensei of SCHALE," Flynn remarked as he tidied the recruitment papers on the table. "But, it's a necessary step in the mission Stephen gave us."
Just as he finished speaking, there was a knock at the office door. Isabeau turned and walked briskly to open it. As the door swung open, four girls entered Flynn's office. He recognized them immediately— they were students from Millennium Science School, specifically from Veritas and the Engineering Club. Among them was the long blonde-haired girl who had asked him how he would fulfill his duty as the Sensei of SCHALE.
One of the girls, a short-haired girl with glasses, stepped forward and introduced herself. "I'm Kagami Chihiro, the Vice President of Veritas," she said, her voice clear and concise. "We came here under Seminar's request. You know them as Hayase Yuuka and Ushio Noa."
As Flynn nodded in response to Yuuka and Noa's names, Chihiro gestured to the long-haired blonde girl beside her, whom Flynn recognized as the one who had asked him a particular question during his speech the day before. "And this is one of my underclassmen, Flynn Sensei," she explained. "I'll let her introduce herself, but you would recognize her from yesterday's public announcement."
The long-haired blonde girl met Flynn's gaze with a determined look. "Even if I questioned you yesterday, I feel the need to reintroduce myself, Flynn Sensei," she said, her voice steady and sincere. "I'm Otose Kotama, from Millennium Science School… Something about you during your speech yesterday compelled me to come today."
Flynn nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "That's good to hear," he replied, turning his attention to the other two girls. "And as for you two, are you both from the Engineering Club?"
The girl with long lavender hair nodded. "Yes, I'm Shiraishi Utaha, the Vice President of the Engineering Club," she said, her voice soft but confident. She gestured to the girl beside her, a blonde with disheveled hair and clothes. "And this is my underclassman… I'll let her speak for herself."
The disheveled blonde girl grinned, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "I'm Toyomi Kotori!" she exclaimed, her energy filling the room. "Flynn Sensei, if you need an explanation or commentary, just leave it to me!"
Isabeau, who had been observing the exchange, spoke up. "Nice to meet you four. I'm Isabeau, a fellow Samurai and assistant to Flynn here," she asked, her tone professional. "Are you all here to apply to SCHALE?"
Chihiro adjusted her glasses as she replied, "Kotama, Utaha, and Kotori want to apply. I'm not ready yet," she answered. "Aside from that, we're here for another reason, but I'll let the Engineering Club explain first."
Flynn and Isabeau turned their attention to Utaha and Kotori, eager to hear what they had to say. The room fell into an expectant silence, the air filled with anticipation and possibility.

Chapter 3: Enter the Foreclosure Task Force!
Utaha took the recruitment papers from Flynn and handed two of them to Kotori and Kotama, her eyes scanning the documents briefly before looking up at him.
"Flynn Sensei," Utaha began, her voice steady and focused. "Both the Engineering Club and Veritas have been working hard on the blueprint that you sent to us."
Flynn leaned back in his chair, his expression thoughtful. "You're referring to the Terminal blueprints I sent to Yuuka and Noa," he said, recalling the intricate designs and complex technology he had shared with them.
Utaha nodded, a hint of admiration in her voice. "Yes, at first, we were stunned," she admitted, her eyes reflecting the challenge they had faced. "This technology is completely new to us."
Chihiro adjusted her glasses, her expression serious. "Even Veritas had some trouble analyzing the code and data in the blueprint at first," she added, her voice carrying a note of determination. "We realized that we can't replicate the data and the software that the blueprints depict."
Kotama, her eyes gleaming with intelligence, spoke up. "But we're starting to understand the software and how the Terminal teleportation system functions," she assured Flynn, her voice filled with confidence.
Kotori, her blonde hair slightly disheveled, grinned enthusiastically. "We're not dismayed by the difficulty! Not at all, Flynn Sensei!" she explained, her voice brimming with excitement. "We take it as a challenge!"
Utaha nodded in agreement, her expression resolute. "Building and designing projects like the Terminal system is the lifeblood of the Engineering Club," she said, her voice filled with pride. "And with the support from both Seminar and Veritas, We'll design a teleport network based on the Terminal system, Flynn Sensei. You can count on us."
Flynn listened intently, a sense of pride and relief washing over him. He looked at each of the girls, their determination and enthusiasm evident in their eyes. "I do not doubt that you will," he said, his voice filled with confidence. "Together, we'll make this happen."
Isabeau, who had been observing the exchange, nodded in agreement. "With your skills and dedication, SCHALE will reach new heights," she said, her voice carrying a note of approval.
The room fell into a moment of silence, the air filled with purpose and determination. The journey ahead was challenging, but with their combined efforts, they were ready to face whatever came their way.
As the conversation with the Millennium students wrapped up, a familiar voice echoed from Flynn's Gauntlet. [Flynn Sensei,] Arona announced, her tone urgent. [An email just came in!]
Burroughs followed up, her voice serious. [You need to read it, Master Flynn,] she urged. [The tone is urgent.]
As she heard what Burroughs and Arona said, Isabeau turned to Flynn. "Flynn, let me handle the four Millennium students while you read the email and attend to your duties," she offered, her voice professional and reassuring.
Flynn nodded, grateful for her support. "I'll leave that to you, Isabeau," he said, turning his attention to his Gauntlet as Isabeau escorted Chihiro, Kotama, Utaha, and Kotori out of the office.
As the door closed behind them, Flynn quietly opened the email using his Gauntlet. His eyes scanned the contents, and he realized that the sender was Okusora Ayane, the girl Shiroko had mentioned the day before. The email was brief but urgent, requesting his immediate attention.
To Flynn Sensei:
Hello. My name is Okusora Ayane, a student at Abydos High School, and the treasurer of the Foreclosure Task Force. I'm writing this letter because Shiroko requested it and thus, I want to ask for your help.
Our academy is being harassed. One of the local gangs has been tormenting us. It's a long story, but we think this gang is after the school building itself.
We're doing our best to stop them. It's only a matter of time before we run out of ammunition and supplies, though.
At this rate, the school will fall to them for sure. I saw a video of you officially declaring yourself as the Sensei of SCHALE yesterday, which is why I'm sending you this email. Can you please help us, Flynn Sensei?
Burroughs spoke up from the Gauntlet, her voice a reminder. [Master Flynn,] she spoke. [It seems we have a new quest on the list.]
[Main Quest: "Aid the Foreclosure Task Force" has been accepted]
[The objective of this quest is to aid the Foreclosure Task Force of Abydos High School in defending the district against the local gangs and other enemies that pose a threat to the Abydos district.]
Flynn nodded, his memory jogged. "So it seems," he said, his mind already racing with the implications of Ayane's request. "Shiroko did say that she'll have Ayane send an email to me after the public announcement."
[In that case, Master Flynn,] Burroughs suggested. [I suggest bringing in some supplies and ammunition before heading out to Abydos?]
"Not a bad idea," Flynn answered as he noticed several ammunition boxes and stored them in the Gauntlet. "I have a feeling these supplies will be needed."
Arona chimed in, her voice eager. [In that case, Flynn Sensei,] she asked. [Are you ready to visit Abydos High School?]
Flynn stood up from his chair, his expression determined. "Of course," he said, his voice filled with resolve. "As the Sensei of SCHALE, I cannot deny a student's request for help."
With that, he left the SCHALE building and headed towards the Abydos district, ready to face whatever challenges awaited him.
An hour later, Flynn found himself on the outskirts of the desertified Abydos district. The landscape was stark and barren in the arid heat of the morning sun, filled with derelict buildings and dunes, a stark contrast to the bustling cityscape of other areas of Kivotos. Yet, Flynn was used to such an environment, having traveled with Walter and Jonathan to a blasted, desertified version of Tokyo some time ago.
Burroughs' voice echoed from the Gauntlet, breaking the silence. [Master Flynn, you should scan the Abydos district using the Map Analysis app,] she suggested. [You didn't do that two days prior when you first visited the district.]
Flynn nodded, acknowledging the advice. He activated the Map Analysis app on his Gauntlet, the device glowing blue as it began to scan the general area. As the scan was completed, the glow shifted to green, indicating that the process was finished. Flynn studied the map, his eyes quickly locating Abydos High School.
[Map Analysis Complete]
[Abydos District Map Unlocked]
[Current Location Identified — Abydos: Desert Wasteland]
Just as he was about to put away his Gauntlet, Arona's voice chimed in. [Flynn Sensei, there's an Abydos student nearby with a bicycle,] she said. [I think we've met with her before.]
Flynn looked up, his eyes scanning the area. He spotted Sunaookami Shiroko, the Abydos student he had met two days ago, approaching him on her bicycle. Shiroko skidded to a stop, her eyes meeting Flynn's curiosity and urgency.
"Sunaookami Shiroko?" Flynn asked. "It's good to see you again."
"Nn… I can say the same," Shiroko affirmed before she asked her question, her voice slightly breathless. "Flynn Sensei, did you receive Ayane's email?"
Flynn nodded. "Yes, I did," he replied, his voice steady. "You did mention the Abydos district needs help."
Shiroko nodded in return, a determined look in her eyes. "I remember. I'm glad you're here, Flynn Sensei," she offered, her voice filled with resolve. "Nn… I'll escort you to Abydos High School."
Flynn gave her a small smile. "Lead the way, Shiroko," he said, ready to follow her guidance.
With Shiroko leading the way on her bicycle, Flynn set off towards Abydos High School, the desert landscape stretching out before them. The journey was quiet, the only sounds were the crunch of gravel underfoot and the distant hum of the city. As they approached the school, Flynn couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. Whatever awaited him at Abydos High School, he was ready to face it head-on.
A few minutes later, Shiroko parked her bike at the gate of Abydos High School, having successfully escorted Flynn. She turned to him, her expression serious. "We're here, Flynn Sensei. This is Abydos High School," she said, gesturing to the derelict building before them.
Flynn took a moment to survey the school, his eyes scanning the worn-down facade. "Are there other students here besides you and Ayane?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Shiroko nodded as she secured her bicycle. "Yes, there's Hoshino, Serika, and Nonomi. The five of us are the only Abydos students left," she said, leading the way into the school. "I'll introduce you to my classmates."
As they entered the hallway, Flynn remembered the day he had met Shiroko and the danger she had been in. "Shiroko, I forgot to ask this," he asked, his voice steady but curious. "Why did robots attack you that day?"
Shiroko sighed, her steps slowing slightly. "Nn… It's a long story, Flynn Sensei," she explained, her voice tinged with frustration. "But Abydos has been attacked by local gangs to robots since it was forced to loan money to save itself."
Flynn listened intently, his mind already working on potential solutions. As they approached a door labeled "Foreclosure Task Force," he turned to Shiroko. "I look forward to knowing more about the debt Abydos incurred," he said, his voice filled with determination.
Shiroko nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "You'll get your answers soon, Flynn Sensei," she said, opening the door to reveal a room filled with familiar faces. The journey to understanding and helping Abydos High School had only just begun.
As Flynn and Shiroko opened the door to the Foreclosure Task Force clubroom, they were greeted by four girls, each engrossed in their tasks. One of them, a black-haired girl with cat ears, rushed towards the door as she saw Shiroko escorting Flynn inside. Her eyes widened with excitement.
"Shiroko?" The cat girl asked, her voice filled with curiosity. "Is this the man from the interview video that we watched yesterday?"
Shiroko nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Nn... This is Flynn Sensei, the advisor from SCHALE," she said, her voice filled with confidence. "He's here to help."
Flynn stepped forward, his expression serious but kind. "What Shiroko said is true," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I'm here to help Abydos get back on its feet."
The cat girl gawked at Flynn, her eyes wide with surprise. She then crossed her arms indignantly, her expression shifting to one of feigned disinterest. "Hmph, I'll believe it when I see it. I'm Kuromi Serika," she introduced herself, her voice tinged with a hint of defiance. "It's not like I appreciate the help or anything."
A long-haired blonde girl spoke up, her voice gentle but amused. "I'm Izayoi Nonomi," she introduced herself, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "It's nice to meet you, Flynn Sensei."
"It's nice to meet you too, Nonomi," Flynn replied in kind as he glanced at Serika. "If I may ask, why is Serika like that?"
"Oh yeah! While Serika has a harsh exterior, she's a softie underneath," Nonomi explained, her voice filled with affectionate teasing as Serika's eyes widened upon realizing what Nonomi was about to say. "Oh! I remember that word! What I meant to say was Serika is a..."
Serika gaped at Nonomi, her eyes wide with indignation. "I am not a tsundere!" she vehemently denied, her voice filled with frustration. "Nonomi, you keep using that word!"
"You can't deny your tsundere nature, Serika!" Nonomi replied in a sing-song tone. "The more you deny it, the more obvious it is!"
As Serika and Nonomi argued comically, Flynn took a moment to look around the room. Despite the emptiness of Abydos High School, he could see the dedication and effort these students put into keeping the school alive. The room was filled with camaraderie and determination, a testament to the spirit of the students who refused to let their school fall into ruin.
As Serika and Nonomi continued their playful banter, a black-haired girl with pointed ears approached Flynn. Her eyes met his with hope and curiosity. "Flynn Sensei," she asked, her voice steady but eager. "Did you receive my letter?"
Flynn nodded calmly, his expression thoughtful. "Yes, I did," he asked, wanting to confirm her identity. "You must be Okusora Ayane."
Ayane nodded in return. "Yes, it's nice to meet you," she confirmed, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Thank you for coming here to Abydos, Flynn Sensei."
Flynn fiddled with his Gauntlet, and in an instant, a box of ammo and supplies materialized from thin air, startling Ayane and piquing Shiroko's interest. Even Serika and Nonomi paused their arguing, their eyes wide with surprise.
"Oh my," Nonomi gasped. "Are those..."
"No way!" Serika exclaimed. "Ammo and supply crates?!"
"I hope these supplies will help you," Flynn said, his voice filled with sincerity. "I have to scrounge around the SCHALE building for these."
Shiroko stepped forward, her expression determined. "We'll make good use of the ammo and supplies you've brought, Flynn Sensei," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "Nn… This is good enough."
Ayane adjusted her glasses, her expression thoughtful. "This will help us for a few days at most," she said, her voice carrying a note of practicality.
Nonomi smiled blissfully, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "How wonderful," she said, her voice filled with awe as she clasped her hands. "SCHALE's technology must be on par with Millennium's to have ammo and supplies materialize from thin air!"
Serika looked at the supplies, her expression shifting to one of determination. "I gotta wake Hoshino up," she said, her voice filled with urgency. "She needs to see this!"
Just as Serika finished speaking, the sound of gunfire echoed outside the high school, startling the group. The sudden noise shattered the momentary peace, replacing it with urgency and danger.
As the sound of gunfire echoed outside, Flynn's voice cut through the tension. "Shiroko, peek out the window and see who's shooting," he urged, his tone steady and calm.
Shiroko nodded and quickly moved to one of the clubroom windows. She carefully peeked outside, her eyes widening as she took in the scene. "It's the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang," she said, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Nn... They have the nerve to come back and attack Abydos again."
Meanwhile, Flynn noticed Serika trying to wake a pink-haired girl who was still fast asleep. He turned to Ayane, his expression curious. "Before we can deal with the enemy gang outside," he asked. "Who is the pink-haired girl?"
Ayane glanced at the sleeping figure. "That's Hoshino, the President of the Foreclosure Task Force," she explained, her voice filled with respect and exasperation.
As Hoshino began to stir, she groggily introduced herself. "Uhee... I'm... Takanashi Hoshino," she mumbled, her eyes still half-closed. "I saw a vid of your speech yesterday… talking about being a Samurai from Mikado or someplace like that... I hope you... enjoy your stay at Abydos, Flynn Sensei."
Serika, growing increasingly exasperated, urged Hoshino to wake up. "Hoshino, wake up!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with urgency. "We need to defend the school!"
Hoshino yawned and stretched, finally coming to her senses. Flynn observed her grabbing her shotgun called the Eye of Horus and riot shield called the Iron Horus, her eyes now wide awake as she let out a wry smile.
"Alright, I'm ready," Hoshino mumbled, her voice filled with resolve as her hetero-chromatic eyes opened. "Uhee... It's time to teach the Helmet Gang a lesson for disturbing this old timer's nap."
Flynn nodded, his expression determined. "We'll defend the school together," he said, his voice filled with confidence. "I'll help you all out."
With that, Flynn and the members of the Foreclosure Task Force set out to confront the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang, who had been firing at the school grounds. The group moved swiftly and silently, their hearts pounding with adrenaline and determination. They were ready to face whatever danger awaited them, united in their goal to protect Abydos High School.
As Flynn and the Foreclosure Task Force rushed out to the school grounds, they immediately ran to cover as multiple gunfire began peppering the area.
While the school was pelted with gunfire, Flynn glanced at his Gauntlet, quietly asking, "Burroughs, Arona…" he muttered. "How many Helmet Gang members are in the area?"
Burroughs' voice echoed from the Gauntlet, her tone serious. [Master Flynn,] she informed him. [There are around 30 Helmet Gang members outside the school premises, firing their guns indiscriminately.]
[Not only that, Flynn Sensei!] Arona exclaimed from Flynn's Gauntlet. [But these delinquents seemed agitated! They've begun throwing grenades at the school grounds!]
"They're all out of ammo!" One of the Hemet Gang members yelled, her voice audible to Flynn and the Foreclosure Task Force. "Finish 'em off, and then take over the school!"
As several grenades that were thrown by the delinquents detonated at the school walls, Serika grimaced at the news, her expression turning into a scowl. "What a pain..." she groaned, her voice filled with frustration. "How many Helmet Gang members do we have to deal with today?"
Flynn turned to her, his expression calm but focused. "There are around 30 gang members in the area," he said, his voice steady.
Serika seethed, her grip on her weapon tightening. "That's three times the number that attacked Abydos last week," she complained, her voice filled with anger. "Great, they've stacked up the odds against us..."
Shiroko, gripping her assault rifle tightly, spoke up with a calm determination. "Nn... Fending off 30 delinquents won't be a problem now that Flynn Sensei is with us," she said, her voice filled with confidence. "As we saw in the video yesterday, Flynn Sensei can summon his demons to help out."
Nonomi looked at Flynn, her eyes wide with curiosity and hope. "Oh! That's right!" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation. "Do you have any demons that can help us, Flynn Sensei?"
Flynn felt the weight of their stares, the Abydos students looking to him for tactical advice. He took a deep breath, his mind racing with strategies and plans.
As the Abydos students looked at him with anticipation, Flynn let out a confident smile. He pressed a button on his Gauntlet, and in an instant, a small, frosty figure materialized beside him.
"I'm the Demon-Summoning Samurai from Mikado, after all," Flynn said, his voice filled with pride. "This is the first time you students get to see me and my demons perform in battle."
"Hee-ho!" Jack Frost said as he waved at the Foreclosure Task Force. "I'm Jack Frost, a Fairy demon hee-bound to Flynn! Nice to meet you!"
Nonomi's eyes widened at the sight of the small demon, and she gushed, "Jack Frost is so cute!" she gushed at Jack Frost. "I want to hug him and take him home with me!"
Jack Frost looked awkwardly at Nonomi, his icy eyes meeting hers. "I may look cute, but I've been summoned with some powerful skills! And I'm bound to Flynn hee-here, remember? I can't go home with you!" he said, his voice filled with determination. "Although, I wouldn't mind being hugged by you, hee-ho!"
As Nonomi hugged the Fairy demon, Shiroko nodded in agreement, her expression serious. "Nn... It matters not what Flynn Sensei's demons look like," she said, her voice filled with resolve. "What matters is how they perform in battle."
With that, Flynn pointed his right hand at the Foreclosure Task Force and cast two buffing spells at them. The Abydos students watched Flynn, fascinated as his body began to glow blue, then green.
"Tarukaja," Flynn chanted. "Sukukaja."
The buffing spells enveloped the Foreclosure Task Force, their forms glowing briefly with a mystical light. "Tarukaja enhances attack power while Sukukaja enhances accuracy and evasion," Flynn said, his voice filled with confidence. "While the effects are temporary, these spells will help even the odds."
"Whoa!" Serika exclaimed, having felt the spells' effect. "Was that... Was that magic?!"
"Uhee... It sure is," Hoshino affirmed as she lazily stretched her arms. "If Flynn Sensei can summon demons, he can use magic. Although, this old timer feels nice being affected by his hocus-pocus..."
Ayane turned to Flynn, her expression curious. "Um… Using those spells to buff us was nice, but..." she asked. "What will you do next, Flynn Sensei?"
Flynn let out a wry smile, his eyes gleaming with determination. "The answer is simple, Ayane," he said, his voice filled with resolve. "We'll charge at the delinquents, taking them down before they cause further damage to the school."
"Seriously?!" Serika exclaimed as she stared at Flynn. "That's dangerous! You don't even have a halo!"
"Yet, Flynn Sensei helped me fend off several robots that attacked Abydos two days ago," Shiroko replied to defend Flynn. "Nn… I've seen what Flynn Sensei can do. He can fight, even if he has no halo."
"That's fine if you have any doubts, Serika," Flynn said as his Bruce Gun materialized from his Gauntlet. "But, I hope I can change your mind when you see me fight some of the delinquents."
"Tch... Fine, Flynn Sensei," Serika sighed in resignation, her cat ears twitching in annoyance. "Just back your words, okay?"
As Flynn nodded at Serika, Hoshino yawned, stretching her arms before gripping her shotgun and riot shield tightly. "Uhee… Let's get this plan in motion," she said, her voice filled with readiness. "This old timer thinks we've even the odds by now."
With the Foreclosure Task Force buffed with Flynn's spells and Jack Frost by his side, the group charged at the 30 Kata-Kata Helmet Gang delinquents. Their hearts pounded with adrenaline and determination as they moved swiftly and decisively, their weapons at the ready.
Outside Abydos High School, the 30 or so members of the infamous Kata-Kata Helmet Gang continued their assault. Bullets flew and grenades were lobbed, but the school remained standing as if it stood defiantly upon being assaulted. The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader frowned, knowing her homies' attacks were not working.
"You there," The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader asked one of her subordinates. "How's our assault on Abydos High School?"
"We've dumped so much ammo and lobbed so many grenades that this school will fall to our hands!" One of the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang members boasted as she felt confident about their assault. "We have them now!"
"Good. We're being paid decently to trash this school by those Kaiser guys..." The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader muttered as she stared back at the battlefield. "What the hell…"
Then, the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader saw several of her homies taken out by the five students of Abydos High School, along with a man clad in blue alongside a seemingly cute imp creature. The man in blue used his handgun to take down two gang members while the students shot down around five gang members, making the rest of the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang panic.
"Who the hell is that man?" The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader mumbled, as her tone shifted to anger. "He has no halo, but he not only is dodgin' and weavin' through our bullets, but he's also takin' down our homies like they were nothing!"
"Ah, Boss! I saw that man in a video yesterday!" Another Kata-Kata Helmet Gang member exclaimed, panic evident in her voice. "It's Flynn Sensei! And he has that weird demon of his with him!"
"Yeah! I also saw the same vid yesterday!" Another Kata-Kata Helmet Gang member shouted amid the hail of gunfire. "Ah! I'm hit! I'm going down!"
As the two gang members were knocked unconscious by gunfire, the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader grits her teeth in frustration, knowing from what little she saw from Flynn's speech yesterday, that her gang was at a disadvantage.
"Damn it," The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader cursed as she adjusted her red helmet. "We aren't being paid enough for this..."
As Flynn and the Abydos students charged out of the school gates, Flynn swiftly took down two gang members with his trusty Bruce Gun. He quickly turned to the Foreclosure Task Force, his voice steady and focused.
"How are things on your end?" Flynn asked, his eyes scanning the battlefield.
Nonomi, her minigun roaring, strafed a wide area with a barrage of bullets. She cheerfully told Flynn, "We're doing fine, Flynn Sensei!" she cheerfully replied. "Thanks to your magic buffs!"
Flynn glanced to another side, where Hoshino was expertly firing her shotgun at the gang members while blocking enemy bullets with her riot shield. "This old timer's doing good!" Hoshino shouted, her voice filled with determination. "We should keep it up!"
Serika, running from cover to cover, fired her assault rifle with precision. "I felt better when you used your magic, Flynn Sensei," she admitted, true to her tsundere nature. "But it's not like I appreciate it or anything!"
Ayane spotted Jack Frost being pelted by gunfire and quickly deployed her drone. The Fairy demon managed to freeze and take down several gang members, but in return, he was pelted by bullets and the occasional grenade. Flynn also noticed this and soon ran toward his demon, which Ayane noticed.
"Shiroko, back up Flynn Sensei and Jack Frost!" Ayane called out, her voice filled with urgency. I'll provide rear support with my drone!"
Shiroko nodded, her expression calm and focused. She armed her assault rifle and activated her drone, moving swiftly to support Jack Frost. "Nn," she stated, her voice filled with resolve. "I'll back up Flynn Sensei's demon."
As Flynn took down another gang member, he noticed Shiroko rushing towards Jack Frost, who was under heavy fire. Prompted by her actions, Flynn quickly saw Ayane's drone dropping what seemed to be a large First Aid Kit. As the First Aid Kit crashed into the ground near Jack Frost, it released a green mist that healed the Fairy demon. Together, he and Shiroko took out several gang members attacking Jack Frost, and their combined efforts created a brief respite from the onslaught.
Shiroko turned to Flynn, her expression determined. "Nn," she said, her voice filled with resolve. "I'm here to support you and your demon, Flynn Sensei."
Flynn nodded, gratitude evident in his voice. "Thank you, Shiroko. I appreciate your help," he said, his eyes scanning the battlefield for further threats.
Jack Frost, his icy form glowing with a renewed vigor, looked up at Flynn. "You know, most summoners would view their demons as disposable," he said, his voice filled with appreciation. "But you're the hee-exception, Flynn. That's why I want to return the favor!"
Meanwhile, in the school-like mindscape of the Shittim Chest and the Gauntlet, Arona was looking at a mysterious card that was floating on a desk, with Burroughs standing beside her.
"I've noticed that card for some time," Arona muttered as she stared at the card on the desk. "But I never bother to ask Flynn Sensei what that card is."
"Arona, from what my scanners could tell," Burroughs explained. "That's called the Adult Card. It's a mysterious card Master Flynn received when he and Miss Isabeau first arrived in Kivotos."
Then, Arona, and Burroughs noticed that the Adult Card that Flynn stored away in his Gauntlet began to glow in a golden light.
"The Adult Card!" Arona exclaimed as she sensed the Adult Card's power. "It's glowing!"
"Yes," Burroughs remarked. "It's fascinating that such a card holds this large amount of power."
Then, Adult Card fired a beam across the sky while Arona and Burroughs looked up, fascinated and perplexed about what would happen next.
As Jack Frost spoke, he began to be enveloped in a freezing golden aura, the cold emanating from his form in visible waves.
Shiroko, noticing the change, turned to Flynn with a questioning look. "Flynn Sensei, what's happening to Jack Frost?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
Flynn shook his head, his expression puzzled. "I don't know," he admitted, looking down at his Gauntlet. "Burroughs, why is Jack Frost being enveloped in a cold aura?" he asked, his voice filled with urgency.
Burroughs' voice echoed from the Gauntlet, her tone informative. [Jack Frost has unlocked a unique skill, Master Flynn,] she explained. [This is a rare occurrence, even for demons.]
[I agree with Burroughs!] Arona exclaimed from his Gauntlet. [I've double-checked Jack Frost's demon data just now and saw a new skill slot, complete with a never-before-seen skill!]
Just as Burroughs and Arona finished speaking, one of the gang members foolishly opened fire on Jack Frost. She fired her assault rifle at Jack Frost, but the Fairy demon dodged the shots this time.
In an instant, Jack Frost emitted frost energies from his stubby hands. "Hee-here goes!" he declared. "Jack Bufula!"
Conjuring several snow sculptures in his image, he sent them hurtling toward the gang member. The snow sculptures landed with a heavy thud, knocking the gang member out cold.
As the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang member collapsed under the weight of Jack Frost's snow sculptures, fear spread through the remaining gang members. Some began to flee from the school grounds, their confidence shattered by the display of power. However, one gang member stood her ground, her distinctive helmet glinting in the sunlight as she fired her assault rifle at Jack Frost.
"How dare you take out my homies!" The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader yelled as she aimed her assault rifle at Jack Frost. "You're gonna pay for that!"
As the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader engaged in combat with Jack Frost, Flynn, and Shiroko quickly took notice of the gang member, their expressions turning serious.
Burroughs' voice echoed from Flynn's Gauntlet, her tone urgent. [Master Flynn,] she informed him. [That's one of the local leaders of the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang.]
Flynn's expression hardened, his resolve unyielding. "One of the leaders?" he said, his voice filled with determination.
Then, as the remaining gang members opened fire at Flynn and Shiroko, the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader vented her frustrations at Jack Frost, pelting him with bullets from her assault rifle.
"Damn it!" The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader snarled at Jack Frost. "You're annoying!"
As Shiroko took down two gang members, Shiroko turned her attention to the fight between the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader and Jack Frost, then to Flynn. "Nn… Flynn Sensei," she urged, her voice filled with concern. "We need to act quickly before Jack Frost is shot down."
Before Flynn could act, the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader had enough of the Fairy demon. Reaching from her pockets, she pulled out a grenade, pulled its pin, and threw it at the Jack Frost. In response, Jack Frost cast another ice statue using Jack Bufula and telekinetically threw it at the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader. As that attack knocked back the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader, the grenade she threw landed on the Fairy demon, and it blew up, sending Jack Frost careening near Flynn and Shiroko.
Jack Frost, his icy body riddled with bullet holes, huffed in frustration. "That one hee-hurts a lot…" he said, his voice weakened but determined. "Hee-ho… The rest is up to you and the girls, boss..." Jack Frost returned to the Gauntlet, his form dissipating into a cold mist.
Shiroko turned to Flynn, her expression worried. "Will Jack Frost be okay?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
Flynn quickly checked Jack Frost's status on his Gauntlet, his expression focused. "Fortunately, Jack Frost is injured, not dead," he said, a sense of relief washing over him. "But I can't use him for the remainder of the battle."
As he examined Jack Frost's demon data in his Gauntlet, whether Jack Frost was killed in battle didn't matter since Flynn knew how to cast the Recarm spell, and the fact that Jack Frost survived for that long worked in Flynn's favor.
Shiroko nodded, her expression determined. "Nn... Let's take down the gang leader together, Flynn Sensei," she said, her voice filled with resolve. "At least to avenge your demon."
Flynn nodded in agreement, his Bruce Gun pistol at the ready. Together, he and Shiroko charged at the lone gang leader, their weapons firing in unison. The gang leader, caught off guard by their coordinated assault and recovered from Jack Frost's attack on her, struggled to keep up with their relentless attacks.
As Flynn and Shiroko charged towards the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader, Nonomi, taking cover against the school wall, watched them with a dreamy expression.
"Oh! Look over there!" Nonomi commented, her voice filled with admiration. "Look at how brave those two are!"
Serika, opening fire on the few remaining gang members, scoffed. "Geez! What they're doing is reckless," she muttered, though she quickly backpedaled. "But that doesn't mean it's not working! No! Not at all!"
Ayane walked towards the group, her drone landing nearby. "Flynn Sensei and Shiroko are the closest to where the gang leader is," she explained, her voice calm and analytical. "That's why they made the charge."
Hoshino, blasting away another gang member with her riot shield and shotgun, nodded in agreement. As she noticed several gang members foolishly charged at her, Hoshino steadied her Iron Horus and fired several buckshots from her Eye of Horus shotgun, taking down the gang members with precision.
"Uhee… Have some faith in my junior because Flynn Sensei is with her," Hoshino said as she reloaded more ammo into her shotgun while under the cover of her riot shield. "Hah... This old timer says we should focus on taking out the gang members who chose to fight instead of running away."
Nonomi, Serika, and Ayane nodded in unison, turning their attention back to the remaining Kata-Kata Helmet Gang members. With renewed determination, they opened fire, their weapons cutting down the gang members with precise and coordinated shots.
Frustrated that their attacks on Abydos High School weren't working, the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader pointed at Flynn and Shiroko, who were charging toward her. She rallied her remaining gang members, her voice filled with desperation.
"What are you two homies waiting for?!" The Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader shouted, her voice echoing across the battlefield. "Attack 'em! Take 'em down!"
Two gang members flanked her, their assault rifles firing in unison with hers. As the enemies fired their shots, Flynn and Shiroko weaved left and right to dodge the bullets, their movements still affected by Flynn's Sukukaja spell.
Shiroko, running alongside Flynn, turned to him with determined eyes. "Flynn Sensei," she said, her voice steady and focused. "I'm ready to do what needs to be done."
Flynn nodded, his expression calm and collected. "Follow my lead," he said, his voice confident.
Flynn darted his eyes around, looking for an opening while the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader and her two gang members kept firing at him and Shiroko. As he dodged the bullets fired at him, Flynn saw an opening in the gang's attacks and pressed the advantage.
Flynn aimed his Bruce Gun at the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader. "Here goes," he muttered. "Sukunda!"
A dark aura enveloped the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader and her minions, lowering their accuracy and evasion.
"Damn it!" Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader cursed as she and the two gang members opened fire at Flynn and Shiroko. "Why can't we hit them?!"
"We're trying, Boss!" One of the gang members yelled, with frustration evident in her voice. "That guy did something that caused our bullets to miss!"
As the gang members' attacks began to miss their marks, Flynn turned to Shiroko. "Shiroko!" he instructed, his voice steady. "Deploy your drone!"
Shiroko wordlessly reached into her bag, pulling out her foldable drone. With a swift motion, she deployed it, the drone hovering in the air.
"Nn... Target setting completed," Shiroko muttered as she activated her drone. "Commencing fire support..."
At Shiroko's discretion, the drone's missile barrage spewed out, striking two of the gang members and taking them out, leaving only the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader standing.
The gang leader, visibly shaken, aimed her assault rifle at Flynn and Shiroko. "How? Where did it go wrong?!" she shouted, her voice filled with fear and desperation. "This… This was going to be our territory! This ain't supposed to happen… Not like this..."
As the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader fired a shot at her, Shiroko calmly dodged the attack and shook her head, her expression unyielding. "You attacked Abydos first," she said bluntly. "You and your gang have no right to say that."
Flynn aimed his Bruce Gun at the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader, his voice filled with finality. "It's over," he said, casting a potent Gun skill. "Dream Needle!"
The spell hit the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang leader, and she collapsed to the ground, knocked out cold. As the battle between Abydos' Foreclosure Task Force and the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang came to a close, Flynn dabbled with his Gauntlet, knowing what he must do.
"Arona, Burroughs…" Flynn muttered as he looked at the Gauntlet's screen. "Call the Valkyrie Police Academy. These gang members needed to be taken into custody."
A while later, after Flynn and the Foreclosure Task Force had tied up the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang members, the sound of police sirens echoed through the air. Several police vehicles from the Valkyrie Police Academy arrived on the scene, their tires kicking up dust as they came to a halt.
As one of the police cars opened, Flynn saw two familiar faces disembarking — Nakatsukasa Kirino and Nemugaki Fubuki. Flynn remembered the two young Valkyrie students who offered to guard him during his speech and even registered for SCHALE.
Hoshino, standing nearby, let out a yawn as she approached Flynn. "Uhee…" she blubbered. "This old timer didn't expect you to have a connection to Valkyrie, Flynn Sensei."
Flynn turned to her with a small smile. "I met with two Valkyrie students during the public announcement yesterday," he explained. "If anything, they're the ones who sought me out."
Then, Kirino approached Flynn, her expression serious but grateful. "Thanks for calling us, Flynn Sensei," she said, her voice filled with appreciation.
Fubuki, munching on a donut from a box she brought, added, "While I'd rather laze around and eat donuts, I can't ignore a favor from you, Flynn Sensei. Especially since Kirino and I already signed up to SCHALE."
Kirino nodded in agreement. "You and Abydos don't need to worry about these gang members for a while," she assured him, her voice confident.
"Yeah, yeah… Take them away," Serika caustically replied as she crossed her arms. "These Helmet Gangs have been nothing but trouble to Abydos."
Flynn and the Foreclosure Task Force watched as the Valkyrie students efficiently rounded up the tied-up gang members, loading them into armored vans. The scene was a mix of relief and satisfaction, knowing that the threat had been neutralized.
As the last of the gang members were secured in the vans, Kirino turned to Flynn. "We'll take it from here, Flynn Sensei. You and the Abydos students have done a great job," she said, her voice filled with respect.
Fubuki, finishing her donut, gave a small wave. "See you around, Flynn Sensei," she said with a playful grin. "And I'd like to buy a box of donuts for ya, just as a thank-you gift."
With that, the Valkyrie students drove away from the Abydos district, leaving Flynn and the Foreclosure Task Force standing amidst the aftermath of the battle. The school grounds were finally quiet, the only sound the distant hum of the city.
Flynn turned to the members of the Foreclosure Task Force, his expression filled with pride and gratitude. "You all did an amazing job today," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "Together, we protected Abydos High School."
"True," Hoshino remarked as she stretched her lanky arms. "But, there's one more Helmet Gang group left in Abydos."
Flynn narrowed his eyes as Hoshino spoke those words. He remembered Burroughs informing him that there were two Helmet Gang groups roaming in Abydos, and he and the Foreclosure Task Force took out one group.
"Is that so?" Shiroko inquired to Hoshino as her wolf ears twitched upon hearing Hoshino's comment. "Nn… You have a plan in mind?"
"Wait…" Serika exclaimed as her cat ears twitched upon hearing Shiroko's reply. "Hoshino has a plan?!"
"Oh?" Nonomi's eyes fluttered in excitement. "Let's hear it!"
"Wah… It seems my wolf-eared junior is sharper than she looks," Hoshino said to Shiroko as Flynn noticed a surprising amount of lucidity in her face. "Let this old timer explain… If history repeats itself, the remaining Helmet Gang group will attack again in a few days. So, why not we go on a counter-offensive?"
"It makes sense," Ayane replied as she adjusted her glasses. "We took down one of the Helmet Gang groups today, effectively halving their overall strength."
"Now, my juniors are getting it," Hoshino said as she let out a sly smile. "While the iron is hot, this old timer suggests that we strike now."
"True. The Helmet Gang's base is 30 kilometers from here," Shiroko remarked, her wolf ears twitching at the prospect of a counterattack. "Nn… We have plenty of time if we leave now."
Then, Hoshino turned her attention to Flynn, who was intently listening to each member of the Foreclosure Task Force. "What do you think," she inquired. "Flynn Sensei?"
All eyes were on Flynn the moment Hoshino spoke his name. Flynn took a moment to compose himself before speaking his mind to the Foreclosure Task Force.
"The other Helmet Gang group poses a threat to Abydos," Flynn replied with conviction. "Hoshino is right. We mustn't allow the Helmet Gang to lick their wounds and recover their strength."
"Great!" Hoshino replied, letting out a confident smile. "If Flynn Sensei is giving us the green light, then let's hurry up and go!"
Flynn and the students nodded, their expressions mirroring Hoshino as they all agreed to do a counteroffensive against the remaining Helmet Gang group in the Abydos district. They had fought hard and emerged victorious, their bond stronger than ever. And as they stood there, amidst the aftermath of the battle, they knew that together, they could nip the Helmet Gang problem in the bud before it could escalate again.
In a dimly lit office somewhere in the darkest parts of Kivotos, a lone, heavy-set masculine robot sat near a desk. His name was Kaiser PMC Director, a high-ranking member of the Board of Directors within the Kaiser Corporation. The robotic man noticed a dimly lit lamp as he reviewed a report that mentioned the Kata-Kata Helmet Gang and their recent battle against Abydos and Flynn.
"What trash… Those gang members we hired and paid failed spectacularly in their tasks in rooting out those Abydos girls," The Kaiser PMC Director grumbled as he looked at the report. "What do you think about this, Black Suit?"
The dimly lit lamp suddenly became brighter, allowing the Kaiser PMC Director to see who was he talking to. The "person" in question was a caricature of a humanoid man wearing a business suit, and his distorted-looking face pulsed, which made someone like the Kaiser PMC Director hesitant to talk with him.
"So they have failed," Black Suit grinned as he glanced at the copy of the report on the desk. "One of my colleagues within Gematria anticipated the Helmet Gang's failure, but one thing I didn't expect is how the gang failed in their task."
Black Suit pointed to a specific picture within the report that depicted a human man clad in blue, and the Kaiser PMC Director narrowed his robotic eyes as he also recognized the figure.
"Hmm," The Kaiser PMC Director narrowed his eyes at the picture of a particular man in the report. "You're referring to this… Flynn Sensei."
"Yes," Black Suit nonchalantly replied. "Flynn Sensei… He fascinates me. He's just as interesting as a subject on par with Takanashi Hoshino, the Horus of the Dawn..."
The Kaiser PMC Director grunted in annoyance at Black Suit's remark. He knew that Kaiser needed to ally with Gematria to achieve their goals, but even he felt unnerved each time he and Black Suit met.
"With the help of that accursed Sensei, it seems these Abydos girls are more persistent than our data suggests," The Kaiser PMC Director grumbled. "Kaiser will be forced to intervene earlier than expected."
Then, the Kaiser PMC Director became startled as Black Suit laughed. This made the Kaiser PMC Director uncomfortable as he could not discern whether Black Suit was laughing with confidence or with fear.
"But the data is always changing. Don't worry. Go do what you need to do," Black Suit suggested as he calmed down. "Send in your army and whatever you can spare. Takanashi Hoshino and Flynn Sensei are more formidable than they appear."
"Fine, but I'll have a word with my superiors if they'd approve of this," Kaiser PMC Director grumbled as he stood up from his chair. "Remember, Black Suit… All Kaiser wants is Kivotos itself, but to think we'd need our army for it just to deal with a bunch of girls and that accursed Sensei…"
As the Kaiser PMC Director left the bleak office, Black Suit tented his fingers in anticipation. His plan would proceed, even with the arrival of Flynn Sensei into the equation. But, Black Suit could sense something... interesting in Flynn that he could not explain.
"Flynn… During the announcement, he claims to be a so-called Demon-Summoning Samurai before becoming SCHALE's Sensei. And he certainly backs up his words," Black Suit mused as he tented his fingers on the desk. "Fascinating… Very, very fascinating… I look forward to meeting Flynn Sensei someday."
