" Mama Lizzie, are you going away? I don't want you to leave." Micheal says. " No sweetheart who told you that?" She asks. " When I was with Daddy AJ the mean lady told me that I was going to be with her soon and that you were leaving me. Daddy AJ told me not to believe her." Micheal says. " He is right, ok. Do not listen to the mean lady. Did she say anything else?" She asks. In a low voice, he says " Only that you don't love me and that Connor and Jake are not my brothers. Daddy AJ told her to go away and stop spreading lies." Elizabeth says " I want to understand something. I love you all so much and you are all my sons. Biology does not make a family remember. Your Daddy Jason and I could not be more proud of you." She hugs and kisses his head. " I love you too Mama. I don't like the mean lady. I will call you Mama from now on." He says. " Ok champ I am fine with that. It is time for bed. Remember I love you so much." She says. He smiles and closes his eyes. She watches him for a little longer and she goes to check on the twins but Jason is in there.
Jake is already asleep and Connor wants to be held but is being fussy. " Let me take him," Elizabeth says. Jason hands him over and she whispers and holds onto the finger and he falls asleep. She kisses his head and then puts him into the crib. "Magic touch." He whispers. She shrugs and then walks away. He quietly follows her and notices she is staying in the bedroom across the hall from the twins. " I know you want to talk about everything but I am not ready. It is a lot to process and in my head, I know that it was not you but my heart feels different. I know you love me but I had to share you with her for years. Let's deal with who is framing me and then we can handle the rest." She says.
" Ok I will respect that but just know that while I love her and she will always be special to me I let her go and I am only in love with you so take all the time you need because I will wait for you as long as it takes," he says. " Goodnight Jason." She whispers and she goes into the bedroom and closes the door leaning against the door as does he. They both walk away both feeling the ache and the weight of it all. He thinks this will not break them and he will find out who did this and if they want a war they will get one because no one messes with his family. No one.
Three days later, in June 2003
" Morgan." He says. " Boss, we have an update that I think you will find interesting," Francis says. " Good, we will meet in two hours at Blue 81," Jason says as he hangs up. " Alright buddy Daddy has to get you changed and fed first." He whispers to Connor who is armed while Jake is still asleep. " I swear your brother could sleep through anything. Must get that from Mama." Jason whispers and Connor gargles. Elizabeth walks in with Jake and says " Do not believe him Connor, his sleeping habits are questionable." She makes Jake's bottle and goes to the big chair in the living room. " Is Em still coming over?" Jason asks. "Yeah, she should be here in 30 minutes. Why?" She asks. " I have a lead and I need to take care of it. I know Gina is off for the week and I don't want you to be alone." He says. " That's good." She says as she looks down and starts humming to Jake.
Blue 81 location
He hates that things are tense with him and Elizabeth but hopefully, with solving this murder they can get back to normal and start to heal. Francis and Johnny drop the file with the information. " So I was able to track down a witness who was too scared at first to come forward but once they realized that they would be protected instead of handled they were cooperative. They place Carly at the scene and they know her because she comes into their boutique and spends thousands of dollars. They said that there was a dark-haired woman there as well. She could not hear them talking but Courtney, Carly, and the brunette were standing over Elizabeth's body after Carly knocked her out but the brunette pulled out a gun and fired on Courtney. The witness then ran and was in hiding until we tracked them down." Francis says. " The witness is a safe house with guards that are loyal to you Boss. No one likes Carly for how she treats them but Elizabeth is sweet and acknowledges them so we don't have to worry about any traitors. We were able to get a side profile shot of the brunette here." Johnny says.
Jason grips the picture and wonders how the hell is she here a year earlier but this means she could be the 2007 version instead. " I know who she is but there is a good chance there are two versions of her like there was with Elizabeth. So we need to make sure we capture the right one. The 2007 version will have a bullet wound scar here." Jason points to his body where that is. " Damn, who is she?" Johnny asks. " She is my ex-fiancee and she hated that Elizabeth was pregnant even though we all thought it was Lucky's. I would gather that it is possible that she somehow found out. She is Cassadine. I wouldn't put it past her. Find her now. We have the element of surprise and I know a few places she would hide out. She has helped beside Carly because she has a bbackupplan and would throw Carly under the bus. So I will contact Mac and we will get the witness in under the radar but I will ask Mac to hold off on dropping the charges but also slowing down the process of a trial so they don't know we know the truth. Once we find Sam and who she is working with we hit them hard. Carly will not be protected. Elizabeth is the priority. You have your tasks we cannot fail, understand." He says. " You have our word. No one screwed with our Lizzie." Johnny says. Jason thinks this will all be over soon and everyone will pay for coming after his family.
