Anticipation Chapter 31:
Deep in the Transylvanian mountains, high above a little village the Muggles knew nothing about, there lies a castle which houses those who studies and looks after the dragons living in the reservation not far from the village. It is also the home to the Vlad family, who owns it.
In one of the many rooms of the castle, Irina Vlad, co-leader of the Hogwarts Hetalia Club, was having an extra-curricular lesson with her mother.
'Your prophetic powers often come to you without you even trying to induce them, her mother began. 'And when it does, the price you pay is loss of blood. I will now see how your powers work under more controlled circumstances.' Thus saying, she withdrew a crystal ball from the folds of her dress and sat it upon the table they were seated by.
'A crystal ball?
'Yes, they are some of the best conduits for premonitions. And hopefully you will not lose blood while we're doing this. None the least because I'll be here, helping you, guiding. Now, Irina, are you ready?'
'As ready as I'll ever be.'
'Then, let us begin.'
Clearing her head for all thoughts and feelings, and knowing her mom did the same, Irina then put her hands on the crystal ball, letting the impressions which flowed out at contact to wash over her.
She would later think how this was different from the other times she got a vision, but right now, she just enjoyed the viewings.
The first one showed an older Elizaveta getting ready to go somewhere and arguing with her mother about it.
'Unless you're willing to use magic to find the keys, you'll just have to wait until I find it myself.'
'Mom, I can't use magic outside of Hogwarts; it's forbidden!'
'Then I guess you just have to be patient!'
The second one showed an image of the present, this one of Gilbert.
Gilbert was glaring at the calendar on the wall for so long that it eventually decided to just blur itself blank.
'Oh, come on!'
'That's what happens when you annoy it.', his cousin Roderich (and Irina's not-so-secret crush) calmly told him while looking elegantly perfect as usual.
Then came visions of her brothers, Dragomir Ivanovich and Vladimir Vlad, at their father's place. She saw their parents' divorce, and the subsequent dividing up of the kids. Both boys were sent to live with their father, while Irina lived with their mother. Irina and Vladimir got their names changed to their mother's maiden name, Irina because she was mainly living with her, except for every other summer holidays, and Vladimir because he was to inherit the Vlad estate.
All this she saw, and all this she already knew, but she also saw that the divorce hadn't been as easy on her parents as she had always believed. But it wasn't all sad things she saw. She also saw the fun memories they shared.
'What did you think?'
'It was an experience, mom, but I wonder …'
'Why you only saw those you saw?'
'Yes.', Irina replied not the least surprised that her mother knew what she was going to say before she said it herself.
'Well, your brothers are a given, I suppose,', her mother started not even giving Irina a chance to confirm before continuing, 'as to the others, I believe your future is linked with them, beyond your Club.'

In the next chapter:
Her arms to the side, Elizaveta tried to digest what she'd been told by her grandfather as she'd done for the past two days.
