Ava sat on top of her makeshift bed, as she constructed the lightsaber in her hand. Her younger brother, Ronan watched with fascination and awe while sitting beside his sister's makeshift bed. Both Ava and Ronan have medium light brown in comparison with their mother's dark skin and the same hair color which is dark as the night sky.

"You just pick the kyber crystal that's best for you, place it here in your light saber," Ava instructed as she dropped the shard into the helm of light saber and then picked up another device near her, sealing it shut.

"Then finish it up by closing it with another device and you have your own light saber,"

She then got up from her spot on the bed, activating the lightsaber in her hand, which caused a bright magenta blade to pop out from the helm.

"Whoa, that's amazing sis," Ronan said in awe as he stared at the glowing blade in front of him before his sister shut it off, causing the blade to disappear.

He then took a deep breath before taking a peek outside their small window, where he sees two sunsets out in the distance.

"When are we going to be out again," Ronan complained as making his sister looked at him.

"I hate being cooped up in here,"

"Me too Ronan but we have to anyway," Ava sighed as she looked down at her constructed lightsaber in her hands.

"But you know why we have to be in here,"

"Someone could hear us and betray us to the first order, I know," Ronan replied throwing his hands up in an exasperating way.

"I heard this all before. How long until we can walk out into the open again,"

"Be patient," Ava scolded while giving her younger brother a stern look.

Ronan gulped in fear, knowing not to test his older sister's temper as he sat down on the bed next to her. He ran his hand through his dark curly hair while sighing deeply as he leaned against the bedroom wall.

Just then, their bedroom door opened, making them look up to see their mother walking into their room, gesturing them to keep quiet.

"Keep it down," Tonia scolded softly.

"Do you want the neighbors to hear yo…."

Tonia then let out a gasp, seeing the lightsaber in her daughter's hand. She then marched over to where her daughter and son are at, snatching the light saber from her hand.

"What the stars are you doing?!" The dark skinned woman yelled, with her daughter's newly constructed light saber in her hand.

She then walked over to a nearby closet, yanked open the doors and pulled out a chest.

"Mom she wasn't teaching me how to use the force!" Ronan protested as his mother threw the light saber in the chest.

"I don't care!" Tonia yelled as she threw the chest in the closet, closing it and locking the doors in front of her.

"The both of you are not going to be Jedi!"

"Dad would let us be jedi!" Ava yelled, making the whole room go silent.

"Don't….." Tonia croaked hoarsely as she slowly kneeled down to the floor, tears threatening to come out.

"Don't you dare bring your father into this,"

Ava felt a pang of guilt as she watched her mother break down in tears, with her hands covering her face. She slowly walked over to her mother, kneeling beside her and hugged her.

"I'm sorry mom…." Ava spoke softly.

"I just wish dad would here. He would know what to do,"

"I know love but your father can't be here to guide the both of you," Tonia said as her younger son joined them, kneeling to their level and hugging them.

"Why did dad make us leave," Ronan asked, glumly.

"Doesn't he love us?"

"He loves you all very much," Tonia assured him.

"He felt something is wrong within the force and he told us to leave,"

Both her and her children know it's true. When Ava was eighteen and her brother is eleven, their father Luke Skywalker felt that someone will be after them due to the both of them being force sensitive like him. He instructed his children and his wife to go into hiding at his childhood planet, Tatooine where they would be safe. It had been three years since they went into hiding and were undetected by the First Order. Ava is now twenty one years old and her brother is fourteen years old.

"I hope Ben's okay," Ava said softly as she thought of their dear cousin, Ben Solo whom they shared a close bond with since they were little.

"He will be," Tonia replied gently caressing her daughter's cheek.

"We just have to keep holding onto hope. For now, all we have is each other,"

She then let out a warm chuckle as they pulled away from each other.

"If your father could see how much you have grown," She said, wiping a tear from her eye.

Suddenly, a soft knock came on the door making everyone go stiff and silent. Tonia placed a finger on her lips, gesturing her children to keep quiet and go to their room. Both brother and sister nodded as they slowly tiptoed to their room as their mother walked slowly to answer the door. Her heart started beating rapidly with each slow step, Tonia took in order to get to the door. When they went into hiding, they would have to be quiet to avoid being discovered. The main reason is they'll never know who will hear them or worse tip them off to the first order. And with one swift, she opened the door and let out a sigh of relief. Instead of the first order troopers is her old friend, Kaya, a blue female twilek who is a retired rebel veteran. She now runs and owns a small bakery, where she secretly hides the Skywalker family.

"Oh Kaya," Tonia said, smiling in relief.

"You gave us a startle,"

"I hope I didn't mean to frighten you," Kaya replied smiling kindly at them as she stepped inside the room, closing the door behind her.

Both Ava and Ronan stepped out while smiling in relief to see that it was only their mother's old friend from their days in the rebellion. They both waved to her with warm smiles as they stepped out into the open.

"How are the both of you today," Kaya asked.

"We're doing fine," Ava replied.

"How about you,"

"I am doing fine as well," The female blue twilek replied nodding her head before turning to the dark skinned woman.

"Tonia may I have a word with you alone,"

Tonia nodded before looking to her children, tilting her head to the door as a gesture for them to go to their room. They were reluctant at first but went inside their room anyway.

Tonia Pov

Tonia watched her children leave the room as she turned to her twilek friend who took a seat on a nearby chair.

"What is it you want to talk with me," Tonia asked with concern, as the blue twilek took a ragged breath.

"I've been keeping track with the resistance and they told me that the First Order has started increasing," Kaya explained.

"There's more. Besides the kidnapping of children, shaping them into soldiers, Kylo ren and his knights are still hunting for anyone who is force sensitive,"

Tonia's dark skinned face paled in shock and horror as she remembered the terrible fate of the force sensitives Kylo Ren and his knights slaughtered. She couldn't let him and his knights get their hands on her children.

"Oh stars…my children," Tonia croaked hoarsely as tears threatened to spill out once more.

"I promised Luke I look after them…."

Kaya gently patted her hand in an attempt to comfort her.

"I know you miss him but he would want you to be strong for him and your children,"

Tonia looked up, teary eyed as she smiled at her twilek friend's comforting words. She couldn't figure out how to properly thank her friend for hiding them away from the eyes of the First Order. Yet, she couldn't help but wonder if anyone visiting or working at the bakery heard them from below. Kaya noticed her look of concern as she moved her hand away from hers.

"They're getting suspicious are they," Tonia asked, feeling worried.

"We shall find another place to hide,"

"No…it's too dangerous," Kaya replied.

"If you go out into the open, they will kill you and your children so I suggest you stay hidden and keep quiet,"

Tonia nodded in understanding before turning to the bedroom door which led to her children's room.

"I don't know how to thank you Kaya," She said returning her gaze at the blue female twilek.

"All these three years, you kept us hidden away from suspicious eyes,"

"I have also brought good news for you," Kaya replied, smiling with excitement.

"I have contacted the resistance and five days from now, they will find you and bring you to base,"

"Thank you, Kaya," Tonia cried hugging Kaya, earning a hug back from the female blue twilek herself.

"You have been a wonderful friend to us,"

"Indeed I have," Kaya replied hugging her friend once more.
