The large hall of the Indigo Academy was buzzing with excitement. Liko, seated in the front row of the auditorium, could feel the energy in the air. The academy was hosting a special screening of the Master 8 tournament finals, where Ash Ketchum would face Leon in a battle to determine the strongest Pokémon Trainer in the world.

Liko had always been intrigued by the stories of Ash, the boy from Pallet Town who had journeyed through every region, befriended countless Pokémon, and inspired trainers wherever he went. But today was different. Today, she would witness the moment that had already etched itself into the annals of Pokémon history.

As the lights dimmed and the massive screen lit up, the battle unfolded in all its glory. The announcer's voice echoed through the hall, recounting the stakes: Ash, the determined challenger who had climbed his way to the top, versus Leon, the undefeated Champion of Galar.

Liko watched in awe as the screen displayed Pikachu's Thunderbolt clashing with Leon's Charizard's Flamethrower. The sheer intensity of their moves sent chills down her spine.

"Look at the power behind that Thunderbolt!" gasped Liko, clutching her pendant tightly. Beside her, her Sprigatito purred softly, sharing in her excitement.

Her friend Dot, sitting a few seats away, leaned forward. "Ash isn't just fighting for himself—he's carrying the dreams of trainers worldwide. It's incredible."

The battle reached its climax. Pikachu, seemingly on its last legs, faced off against Charizard. The room was silent except for the sound of the battle. Ash's voice boomed through the speakers as he called out to his partner.

"We've got this, buddy! Let's show them what we're made of!"

Liko felt tears welling up in her eyes as she watched Pikachu summon every ounce of strength for a final Thunderbolt. The screen lit up with a dazzling explosion of light as Pikachu's move collided with Charizard's G-Max Wildfire. When the dust cleared, Pikachu stood victorious.

The auditorium erupted into cheers. Liko jumped to her feet, clapping and cheering with the rest of the students. She watched as Ash raised the trophy, his expression a mixture of triumph and humility.

"He's amazing," Liko whispered to herself.

Later that evening, Liko walked through the academy courtyard, replaying the battle in her mind. Sprigatito trotted beside her, sensing her reflective mood.

"I wish I could be like him," she said aloud. "So confident, so brave... He makes it all look so easy."

"You know, admiring someone is one thing, but using it to push yourself is what really matters," came a voice from behind her.

Liko turned to see Professor Cerise approaching, hands in his pockets and a warm smile on his face.

"Professor Cerise!" Liko exclaimed. "Were you watching the match too?"

"Of course," he replied. "Ash is a special kind of trainer. I've known him since his early days, and even back then, his determination was something else. But you know what makes him truly remarkable?"

"What?" Liko asked, eager to hear more.

"He never gives up. He doesn't let his losses define him. And more importantly, he treats every Pokémon and trainer he meets with respect," Cerise said. "It's not just his victories that inspire people—it's his journey."

Liko nodded, her admiration for Ash growing even deeper. She looked down at Sprigatito. "Do you think... one day, I could be like him?"

Cerise chuckled. "With your heart and your bond with Sprigatito? I don't doubt it for a second."

A week later, Liko found herself in the academy's battle arena. She had signed up for a friendly match against another student, inspired by Ash's triumph. The crowd was smaller than the one in the auditorium, but the anticipation felt just as intense.

Her opponent, a confident boy named Ryker, smirked as he sent out his Luxio. "You sure you're ready for this, Liko? I don't want to scare that Sprigatito of yours."

Liko clenched her fists but managed a calm smile. "We're ready. Right, Sprigatito?"

Sprigatito leapt onto the field, its eyes sparkling with determination.

The battle began with Ryker's Luxio launching a Spark attack. Liko called out a quick "Dodge!" and watched as Sprigatito nimbly avoided the move.

"Now, Leafage!" Liko commanded.

Sprigatito sent a flurry of leaves hurtling toward Luxio, who staggered but quickly recovered. Ryker retaliated with a Thunder Wave, paralyzing Sprigatito.

Liko felt a pang of doubt as she saw her partner struggling. Memories of Ash's battle flashed in her mind. She took a deep breath.

"Don't give up, Sprigatito! We can do this together!" she called out, echoing Ash's words.

Sprigatito's ears perked up. With a burst of energy, it broke free of the paralysis and unleashed a powerful Energy Ball. The attack struck Luxio head-on, knocking it out.

The crowd cheered, and Liko felt a surge of pride as she hugged Sprigatito. "We did it!" she exclaimed.

That evening, as she sat in her dorm room, Liko looked at a poster of Ash on her wall. She smiled, feeling a newfound determination.

"One day, I'll meet you, Ash Ketchum," she said softly. "And when I do, I'll be a trainer you can be proud of."

The warm morning sun filtered through the large windows of the Indigo Academy classroom. Liko sat at her desk, trying her best to focus on the lesson, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the intense battle she had won yesterday. The taste of victory still lingered, and she felt closer than ever to her dream of becoming a great trainer like Ash Ketchum.

Her daydream was interrupted by a knock at the classroom door. Every head turned as Roy, a spirited trainer with bright eyes and a confident grin, peeked into the room. He wasn't a student at Indigo Academy, but his visits were becoming more frequent, especially when Liko was involved.

"Roy?" Liko whispered as the teacher paused to allow the unexpected visitor to speak.

"Sorry to interrupt, Professor," Roy said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. "I'm here to see Liko."

The professor gave an indulgent smile and nodded, allowing Liko to step outside.

Moments later...

In the hallway, Roy leaned against the wall, his Poké Ball spinning lazily in his hand. "I heard about your win yesterday," he began with a grin. "Not bad. But what do you say we battle? It'll be good practice for both of us."

Liko hesitated. "A battle? Right now?"

"Well, after class," Roy clarified. "You've been improving a lot, and I need to sharpen my skills too. Besides, wouldn't it be fun?"

Before Liko could respond, a student rushed down the hall, holding their phone aloft. "Did you hear?!" they exclaimed, their voice high with excitement. "The academy's getting a special guest in a few days!"

Both Liko and Roy turned to the student, curiosity piqued.

"What kind of guest?" Roy asked, folding his arms.

"Ash Ketchum!" the student declared, their voice practically trembling with excitement. "The new Monarch! He's coming here to give a special lecture and maybe even do some exhibition battles!"

Liko's heart skipped a beat, her hand instinctively clutching her pendant. "Ash... Ash Ketchum? Here?"

The student nodded vigorously. "Yeah! Apparently, he's touring some schools to inspire the next generation of trainers, and Indigo Academy is on his list!"

Roy's jaw dropped. "You mean the Ash Ketchum? The guy who just beat Leon and became the world's strongest trainer?" His expression shifted from disbelief to excitement. "No way! That's awesome!"

Liko's mind raced. She was going to meet her idol, the trainer who had inspired her every step of the way. Her cheeks flushed, and her heart pounded in her chest.

"I can't believe it," she murmured. "Ash Ketchum... here."

Roy, however, had a different reaction. His hands clenched into fists, his eyes burning with determination. "If he's coming here, I have to battle him!" he declared.

"You?" Liko asked, blinking in surprise.

"Why not?" Roy said, grinning. "I know I'm not part of this fancy academy, but I'm not missing a chance to challenge the World Champion! It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Liko felt a pang of jealousy. She wanted to battle Ash too, but even the thought of standing before him was nerve-wracking. "I don't think it's going to be that easy," she said. "He's probably really busy, and there will be tons of people wanting to battle him."

Roy waved her concerns away. "Doesn't matter. If I get the chance, I'm going for it."
