ep1 w1 beginning (Word count 334)

Ok this is a soap opera sequel to the series Magic school bus. I made this because I realize there is a lot of characters that would make a great soap opera extensions, only the first week of the author notes this length since it pitches the series, most of them after this week are two paragraphs at most. I will explain this more in a special author note chapter after this. I put week numbers mostly to make my notes makes sense because I write these in weeks to be sortable. I hope to make this a staple 3 times a week. I will be separating these in to seasons each being when one years worth of postings or at 500k words (I would finish the week of posting before ending and begin another season from that point.) Each season will get a 1k to 10k recap. To explains somewhat what happened so you can read there if you are here to get caught up upon the action after season 1 wraps up. well that covers the basics I hope you enjoy.

In a world where Magic and Science meet. Where the mystical wonder, and the normal attempt to look away. The Magical Generations.

It was a dark but not so stormy night where Janet and Arnold's family are having dinner for passover a holiday and the both of them are trying to look like they are getting along even if they are not. Everyone is tense at this table, due to the age old argument of this family, the argument that is magic. as this family's biggest secret is the magic of special gadgets that some of them hold and pass down, but they are trying to keep it civil anyway. Even through the quick meetings and family dinners during holidays a few things popped up and Janets mother was slightly showy and even though somewhat hid the gadgets, but did not to the point that would make the other family comfortable but nothing reached the breaking point that night. After the dinner is over and Arnold's family is about to leave when they say tense goodbyes. after they go Arnold's family is relieved to leave that magical household and Janets family is happy they do not have to put away their magical gadgets now they left. Magic, it has been a part of Janets life as long as she can (understand) remember, something that she likes to put in some particular peoples faces. She felt as a kid who likes to impress people sadly that her family forbid them publicizing it, that's why she found so weird that Arnold's teacher totes around that aspect every class that she teaches. well, her family does not bother ms fizzle since she has not given magical gadgets around and has not caused a scandal yet. Arnold's family feuds with them a lot but that's their business. The only thing she's concerned about is convincing her family that she deserves a gadget of her own. she hopes that she will get one doing the holidays as she thinks she's not old enough to get one for herself. and when she does she will definitely tote it in that cousin's face.

it is slightly slow because the first week is mostly set up. I based this off of how some soap opera set up the first episode with a tense moment with the characters together (The one I was thinking was one that begin with the funeral, I think either all my children or guiding light TV tropes is acting bad with an unoperational pop up ad today.) I hope you love it I was originally going to do in Arnold's house, but I realize that this works better. I made this not knowing which holiday I was going to choose (I was considering Christmas/Hanukkah.) but I realise that in canon it is way past Christmas when the show ends. (Christmas recycling episode) so I moved it to passover and Easter. this makes the timeline slightly funky in this area. (regular Easter orthodox Easter being of 4 weeks or 1 week the year i chose instead of 2 weeks.) but I think the story is still enjoyable. I hope you love it , I hope I got Janet's tone right. The rivalry between or an and Janet will be upfront to this story but at the same time I will be going into other aspects with Janet on the side. The next chapter which I referred to as episodes should be published on Wednesday. Stay tuned for the author note chapter after this that explains everything from my vision to the scheduling. I hope this set up everything decently.
