ep4 (w2 ep2) A Mother's Worry (364 words)

I hope you enjoy this chapter I know it is slightly out of order and posted a day late. I was pulled in 2 ways, more mentioned in the end note though regular postings should happen from here on out. this is still mostly going to be about the frizzle family but i decided to go with adding Ralphie family. This storyline became more than I expected from originally 'a way to have stuff going on' in the background and I hope you enjoy the ride. (August 2023 - I changed the order moving it one chapter up (ch7 instead of ch8), sorry if you had already bookmarked or List in the location in your favourite quote list. the factors I was having trouble finding it myself and I do actually have to sometimes look at these when writing future chapters, technically it is still slightly out of order (like the numbers reflect) but I do not want to change the order too much.)

Ralphie dad was a great man but sadly he died saveing her from her sibling who believed she was a betrayer to the 'cause'. her family was always a mix heap of arguing and betrayed, all about the right way. all about hunting the magic that in their mind, are 'infected the town' with their kookiness. but what they all wanted was to get rid of the vampires in the town away from normal life. but in the twist of fate she loved a 'vampire' of all thing. and that was when the her life diverged, it all happened so fast, she was in love she had a kid she had a happy life and then it all ended , after getting a mark on her by a sibling of hers, and getting her love although it was a close one. even though his death broke her heart, she continued on. she was a doctor, but she could not save him. all she could do was watch and avoid getting injured herself. but that was when she was.. she is not sure if the word she is looking for was young or wishful.

anyhow Easter is coming and her parents are coming soon to visit (something that does not usually happen) so she got to get ready. her parents are currently slightly more understanding, at least now, but she knows that thay hope her son will be not magical in anyway. she does not know completely herself, he spend the time with that magical class but is he magical himself. Even though she had not completely revealed everything to him. she hopes he will be ready when the time comes. she lets him reed comics about the supernatural even if some wonder after that displayed during parent teacher night and question the choice. she thinks it is better that she knows what people think about The mystical world in advanced, rather than being in the dark.

she hopes he will be ready when they visit because no matter what happened in the past she's got to host in a presentable fashion and she really hopes for the best. now to go to church to bless the candle.

now that was something. I publish this slightly out of order with a delayed release because I had to decide which side the mother was from and made multiple ideas for both possibilities. I also did not want to go, 'Lineage Comes from the Father' trope for all the characters. granted this was a bigger problem before it came on me that I could have Arnold's family be magic on both sides. and of course if the brother was going to be a either magical nuisance or a hunting nuisance (and how much of the second I can do with my current rating.) granted no matter what I chose I am in going to feel regret since they both have their separate pros and cons but in the end I had to choose and this is what I chose. we will get back to our regular scheduled programming next episode. blessing a candle is orthodox tradition for Easter, I chose orthodox Easter because it gives me more time between the two holidays. I know a enough about and experienced enough on orthodox Easter to not stumble but religion will not be the focus of this fic.

I was considering Thanksgiving for the first dinner and regular Christmas for this one until I realised that we know that Christmas and Hanukkah already happens in the series. So was either this or 4 of July, a holiday that is very local. another note The dad mentioned in the show still exist in this universe as the dad in this chapter is not a stepdad. though I made the chapters before I realise any sort of dad was mentioned in the series. they are going to be no appearances of The stepdad until around week 10 at least.
