ep6 (production code w2 ch 3) Abandon Ship (around 400 words)
Yes I am aware it is out of order, it is such a end of the week episode I did not want to hide it. the other one is pretty much done and I just have to check back the other one (ep4) is pretty much done and I just have to check back. It should be posted by Friday but until then enjoy. Arnold has been feeling weird about going for holiday dinner with his cousin it was just weird as always. even though he cares about his cousin he does not feel comfortable spending long periods of time with. for one thing the little game they have going on with her includes trying to one up everything in which collateral damage is not a problem for her. but there are other things that make him grown each time she shows up. The glint in her eyes, the sparks of magic and of course the pull of everything around that basically just destabilises everything. there are times (most of the time as he hates to admit it) where it is her and him as rivals and everything else surrounds it even the class surrounds and acknowledges it like in the sports day situation. he tries to make himself feel better by remembering that they felt somewhat that way playing soccer/football with phoebes old school but there is just a thing that he cannot put his finger on. he wants to say that he will only have to worry about the sparks in outside situations like say holiday dinners or any event with his cousin but a few weeks ago after that ship trip things got a lot more complicated as he thinks on event that happened those few weeks ago a little after the possession of the object.
Flashback a few weeks.
he got this ship from ms frizzle a few days ago. while he understands that she did not want it going to One of the kids that did not understand the power and would use it for idioty. he would prefer not to have had it and he is gonna make sure that his mother does not find this ship. his solution, put it in the closet. If she asks, he will just say it is a toy ship and hopefully not question further and look too closely.
end flashback
he hopes he can stay in control both with avoiding the ship and with Janet. he knows even he can give in to the rivalry at points like when he was ok with going to space to the point of suggesting it. A plan that backfired extremely and is lucky they his classmates never delve any further into the helmet situation. he better be careful as One step wrong will lead to an avalanche of issues.

This is to wrap up of the coral reef episode where Arnold's holding the ship. I go into the ship situation deeper later. I was on the verge of just deleting that part off the chapter and just keep the one a few weeks later but decided to keep it in both chapters since this one has more of a personal tint. this might become important later.
