as Arnolds dad look up at the sky as he is in his work. he sees a plane. most people just think it is a regular plane but he can see the markings that indicate that it is his cousin's ms frizzle's plane in broad daylight in a not so controlled manner.
he unlike his wife understands if others in his family want to continue using those gadgets but all members agree that you not supposed to use them recklessly like that. and even though his sister always was on the more frivolous side of using them he has to say this is far enough.

I was considering sister but I think it might make more sense to have them just be Second cousins considering the last name difference. (their grandparents were siblings). I thought it was time to bring the father into the story. also yes I see it very short.
