ep77 (w35 ep2) A Dad's Final Knocking (630 words)

this takes place Thursday the day before the last one. sorry about the delay in updating the total word count on Friday. I had to submit something else and I was really only able to paste it but I have since updated it. in general sometimes I do not have time to update the word count since it involves concentration but I still try because a half done word count makes it look unprofessional.

anyway we are going to go to Janet and wrap some things up. hopefully we can get this school year done before 52 weeks worth of episodes. (granted I really do not want this thing hitting 100 episodes either, I think we are at a number in which people will be starting to get scared on just episode count alone) each season will get its own thing.

Arnold's dad did not mention Janet's actions for a few days. he wanted to just forget about all of that drama but by Thursday he I knew he had to confront that whole incident with Janet along with his own device taking. The father considered mentioning the whole Janet situation to his wife first but he decided there was no need not to go there himself, it is not like Janet's mom and his wife are that close anyway beyond the occasional holiday dinner.(1)

as he knocks on yet another door this one opens with Janet's mum saying how are you before seeing who is there. after greeting each other and a few pleasantries Arnold's dad said 'I think janet borrowed my device as well as Ms Frizzle's.' Janets mother said 'wait you mean Janet. I really doubt she would do something so reckless. she knows how valuable and personal they are from our own gadgets', heavy emphasis on 'our own' making it clear their values. Arnold's dad said well I definitely know she borrowed frizzles even if Valerie does not want to go about it and I really doubt mine disappeared out of nowhere. before saying Janet can you come down, Janet said, okay as she walks down the stairs. she really prefer to continue playing with her toys but her mum did sound serious. when she makes it down Janet's mum says you took frizzle and his says back why do you think that with the mother saying back because we have Arnold's dad saying that you took his as well.

after they talk in circles for a little bit with Janet trying to convince them know eventually she gave in and said. okay okay I did use frizzle's device. I was just testing it out to see how it will be when I get my own but I never borrowed his device, promise. how would I even get it. Arnold's dad said whatever way you borrowed Valerie's. Janet responded It was parked outside there was no way I could borrowed yours the same way.

The father than said but you even got Bob to return it for you. at that the mother said wait a minute Bob, Janets's mom mother then turned and said please tell me you did not recently talk to Bob considering he wet the contents of our house. Janet's said no, promise. at that Arnold's dad responded then Bob might have actually, oh. at that the Janets mum said thank you for revealing this to me even if she did not borrow yours. (or this will be looked in to further) Janet will definitely be taught a lesson. Arnold's dad said I thought she borrowed mine but I cannot believe there is more than one in the same month. Janets mum said yeah that is going to have to be looked into but for now I have Janet to deal with. at that the exchange the goodbyes and he left.

A little later the mum had a conversation with her daughter Janet. The mother said what were you thinking with the daughter saying I just wanted to test it out to show my ability to operate mentioning anything about her using it in frizzle's class up in space or her inpatients. (ep21 (w8 ep2)) Janets mom said I thought I taught you better about how connected they are to the user. she said I know mum but I really wanted to prove I could use it. The mom said at least you did not keep it unlike certain pranksters. thinking about the possibility Arnold's dad brought. anyway you are going to lose your toys for 2 days. Janet said auu , really disappointed but did not go any further knowing it could be worse for what happened.

(1) The dad does not know much about all of the things going around particularly with their side of the prank.

I want to be clear when I say she did not do something reckless I mean less in a dangerous stunt way and more in a this is going to ruin your life way. I did not think it was footnote material since I am trying to cut down on that but I am mentioning it here. I did not wanna play the tense tone stuff so I had her come down immediately. I was going to have Janet be out originality and have the mother talk after she got home but I realise that there was no way to really put in some of the details particularly relating to Bob without Arnold's dad being there for the questioning. I will say some of the things might have been a little weak in terms of how fast the mother believed him. I only noticed that on final edit when I was filling the stuff that involve actually looking at other episodes so I decided to let it pass. if I were to do that (have time to have Janet's mother believe him) it would involve probably three episodes and I am trying to possibly end the season without stretching stuff again.

you remember back in the day or maybe you do not, there was a time where instead of losing electronics you would lose your toys. I had Janet just lose toys for 2 days instead of a harsher punishment (which even then you would get) not because I want to make a parents seem super lenient but she is going to have a added unmentioned secret delay in getting a device. they did not mention it to her as not to tempt her to try to 'prove herself' again. along with they have bigger things to worry about then Janet at this moment. also even though we kind of in a way do not want to see Janet be treating like she is innocent, mostly because we usually see the storylines to Arnold's eyes in the show. I do not think a good chunk of the people here really want to see a long description of Janet who is a child getting punished and I do not want to spend time writing punishments segments for kids. part of me was considering not even having her get caught for this reason but I realize that this actually works particularly in connecting everything.
