PURE

"You're too pure Hinata" The man muttered as he stared at her, his eyes reflecting and full of her hourglass figure that plagued both his dreams and his nightmares.

Hinata's hands shook. They trembled uncontrollably as unpleasant shivers ran down her spine. Kami, it smelled bad. It felt bad. It was bad. It was so bad, she thought in anguish as her beautiful lilac eyes tinted with guilt and torment, but never regret, there was no time for that. There was no space for that.

"The world doesn't like people like you" He said over and over and over again. His eyes watching, preying, hoping, that she would listen, that she would understand.

The world doesn't like people like you. He thought looking at her back and he hated it, because it never bothered her, and because it made him fall deeper and deeper into her sweet sweet trap.

Oh Naruto. You lucky dense piece of annoying twit. He couldn't help but think. Almost bitter, but never jealous. He was the fool to love her.

Hinata flinched, she felt a wave of tiredness roll over her body like an endless wave. It was tiring. It is tiring. She thought, tired of running day in and day out, tired of seeing blood, and carnage in every corner and in everywhere. Truly, what a wicked way to live. She lamented as her eyes stared at her hands, which were stained in scarlet, belonging to the man on the floor. It was funny. All these years of doing this, and she would still sometimes get shocked.

How funny, she never thought she would be a killer, which was even funnier, she had once lived in a world where she was taught killing, where she knew it would be killed or kill, or was it?

It never mattered that much back then, because her world was different. There was always a way out of it, always that one silver layer of sunshine to it. There was a reason to be optimistic. However here, not so much.

It was different here. Optimism would get you killed. And she may have been in war, but she never once starved for food. She didn't even kill actual people, so she'd never seen it all. Maybe ANBU would have. Maybe the hunter division would have. Maybe this, maybe that. It didn't matter, because here she was, right where she never thought she would be. Ha. How arrogant of her to think that escape was a sin.

She would do anything to escape right now. Anything.

"A girl like you, shouldn't exist" He said, rephrasing it, but nevertheless saying the same thing, like yesterday, the day before and the day before that, taken by her sweet, kind, warm, understanding, patient and irresistibly lovely nature.

Dammit. He was desperately inlove with her and it irritated him beyond the core, because just like the rest who came before him, they would all fall in a wallow of heartbreak and sorrow.

It drove him mad.

Mad because he was not going to be anything different. He would not make a dent in her heart. And it would always be that way. It hurt. But such was life. Winning was impossible with her, he couldn't compete against Naruto much less Hinata's strong sense of love and loyalty. It was infuriating, to only be able to watch, wallow, rage, then move on.

That was the only thing.

Right?

Hinata was thirsty. Running and exercising had that effect on people, she guessed. It wouldn't be exercise without a little sweat, now would it?

Thoughts racing, her heart beating, Hinata forced herself to take long breaths. She was done. It was done. She had done it a hundred times before. There was no need to be scared. Not even close. 'There isn't a time for it' Hinata thought, her eyes full of unshed tears. Bad human or not, she just still couldn't comprehend that this was now her life, which was even funnier. She'd been doing this for years.

"I'm inlove with Naruto" She stated softly but firm, to calm him down, to let him down gently, to stop him and he couldn't help but scoff. That was ridiculous, he has been doing the same thing twice 10 since he realized he was inlove with her.

Hinata's eyes locked onto his, and she couldn't help but feel that she was letting herself down. He hadn't confessed even and she knew he would but she didn't want him to get hurt, being rejected hurt. But as if he could see the gears turn in her head, he smiled helplessly, he hated her approach, but oh he loved the sentiment and she must have realized his feelings on the matter, as she said something else.

"It will never be possible between us"

Hinata wondered.

How?

How was it possible? Had the man who scripted their world been an optimist or had the man who scripted this world been too pessimistic? Or had the world been always like this, she had just never saw it for what it was? After all, the academy taught them as if it were sunshine and rainbows. But her father, her father was always harsh, almost cruel at times. And now as she looked at all this dead bodies on the ground. Hinata understood why, maybe because she now saw the world the way her father had seen it, the way it truly was.

"I know" he whispered, pained, agonized and desperate. His hands in his pocket and his heart broken, once again.

Over and over again.

It truly was all about perspective. All about how one looked at it. But yet now as Hinata looked at it. She wondered, why she couldn't look at her world the same back then? Was it the academy's fault? Her nature's fault? Or maybe simply because the timing? Was her view of the world truly brighter and if so, why couldn't she keep on seeing the sun even in these circumstances?

It would have saved her some trouble, would have saved her some pain and would have saved more people.

"I know"

He repeated, his eyes burning. Betraying the care that went over the desired one for a comrade, betraying the love, that should have been only friendship based. Betraying his heart because he had whole dialogue about letting her go and how impossible she was, after all, she was only a wish and a dream he could never catch. Such was the love of Hinata Hyūga and damn how he wanted nothing more than for it to be returned to him,. And he hated it, how desperate he was for it, knowing full well he could never get it.

It made him restless, edgy, and helpless. And in a random moment, it almost stroke him to tell her, that no one could ever replace her.

"Everyone knows you love him"

He muttered, not bitter. Not ever. Because who on the earth wouldn't love Naruto. He loved the blonde maniac as well. That was his comrade and above all friend.

Family even. But, nevertheless it still hurt. And it hurt so bad to face it everyday, how impossible it truly was, to win Hyūga Hinata's love.

It was exhausting, tiring and draining, and all of it combined.

Even so, Hinata knew she would do it again. There would always be something else on her plate. A never ending battle, and a never ending war. How long had it been, 4, 5, 6, 9 years? The armoured titan? The colossal titan? The beast titan? A world beyond the walls? A world that wanted to kill them? No. A world that had been killing them.

Dammit!

Hinata cursed internally, as she kept on running, moving, again and again, Hinata went on, with a blade in her hand, it was almost humourous, she never thought she would use one.

"We choose the ones we love, however to always love someone that doesn't appreciate, you, and doesn't truly understand the magnitude of your love. Is it worthwhile?" He asked, not critiquing or bitter. Just curious, wondering and slightly drifting, because the more he looked her, the more he was tempted to do more than talk.

Hinata of course kept quiet to his interrogation, because what she would say next, they both knew.

Love wasn't about a person deserving it. Love was just giving and doing without asking or expecting anything in return..And yet, as much as she would say it was worthwhile to wait or for it to be never returned. It would be wasting both of their time.

So Hinata wondered, why was he asking. She pondered and she went it over in her head, and then she understood his disappointment.

Simple, she got caught up. Love. Love for Naruto and only him and yet her clan needed leading, needed a future. Love, this love that, and yet, she didn't have the time to bother about all that was around her. The war. The clan. Everything. It made Hinata wonder beside being a little more confident and a little more stronger, what had she truly accomplished?

Her clan still didn't believe in her, matter of fact, she still questioned herself, so she hadn't done much as clan heiress. Furthermore, her power, her power hadn't grown as she hoped. She hadn't improved enough to make a huge difference, a difference that she knew she could make and that would her clan respect her as the future head.

And Narut-

Yeah. Hinata thought with a sigh, she was too obsessed with her inner challenges and Naruto, that she forgot where she needed to be and how fast she had needed to be a long time ago.

Drip

Drop

Drip

Hinata gritted her teeth. Kill. Kill. Kill. Whether she liked it or not kill. No thinking about it, no digesting it. She chanted in her head as she sliced someone's neck, cleanly, neatly, and silently. She could hear her commander's voice in her head, 'perfect, no mess and no blood, exemplary, Hinata'

This was not her world. It didn't give her the luxury. It didn't give her the illusion. And it certainly didn't mince reality. If she didn't kill, she would die and not just her, everyone else in the building who needed her.

"One kiss" he said and Hinata couldn't help but flinch. A kiss. She hadn't been kisse- And before she knew it.

His lips connected with hers.

He consumed her, his lips moved with yearning, love, passion and desperate hunger. Kami he was enamoured with her. If he at least couldn't have her for eternity, let him have this. This moment. Selfish, wrong, he didn't care anymore. Naruto would have to forgive him for this one.

Hinata moaned and he cursed softly, as he plundered her mouth, imprinting himself on her, again, again and again. And again. Hinata felt like she couldn't breath and oh why, why was her heart bitting so fast? In response to him, she tugged his hair, and he grunted, painfully, devastatingly inlove with her. 'Please princess, let me have you this one time'

The man begged in his heart, of the first and last kiss he would have for the only girl he could love like this.

Hinata whimpered and he cursed again, Oh this woman, she had no idea how much he-. He thought as clutched on her waist, possessively, beastly, and erratic. She tugged on his hair again and he grunted. This woman. He could ruin her. Her nails dug into his hair and-dammit! "Hinata darling you need to stop" he muttered hoarsely, amused at his choice of words.

Wasn't he the one taking advantage of her?

He looked at her, red faced, her beautiful eyes full of tears, and he cursed the beast inside of him, he cursed the day he fell inlove with her, he cursed Naruto for being Naruto as he kissed her again and again.

One kiss be damned.

"It's okay, I've come to save you" Hinata said as a few girls stared up and down at her, scared, cautious, but not appalled. It was almost like they saw people covered in blood every day, and by the way Hinata noticed the blood and the semen on the floor and on the walls, Hinata was sure, her sight wasn't anything new on them or shocking. But rather the fact that she had come to save them.

"Save us?" A girl mutterd softly, and gently, and surprised. Hinata felt her stomach churn. That innocence yet not so innocent, almost seemed familiar. She hated it. She couldn't help but think, however she didn't dwell on it. She nodded her head and raised her knife, it was scarlet. They all flinched and her heart broke once again. But this time, just as the times before, she didn't cry, she didn't let it show, it wasn't time for that now. She put it back on her thigh and smiled.

"Yes, my name is Hyūga Hinata, from the X Division, I'm here to save you" she introduced, and they looked at her confused and she couldn't help but smile gently.

Yes, this time, she was here to save them. And as much as there were good people out there, there wasn't enough time to save them four years ago, but now, with their impending alliance with another country, she could save them and she had help. She thought, as her eyes stared at the two soldiers who nodded their heads at her.

"It has been confirmed, this was the last one, we've cleared it all" and Hinata right then, felt her world tumble, her vision blurred and the tears she held on for so long finally fell.

Finally.

"Listen to me Hinata. You can love someone, you can cherish someone. You can be willing to wait or willing to be quiet about your feelings, but keeping it inside, wasting time, not confessing then letting it go, Is only a waste of time. Don't be a fool. Don't waste time. It's the most precious resource of all" he said as he held her hands close to him, whilst his eyes were full of anguish. She looked down and he smiled.

What a liar he was. After all, he had confessed, hopelessly and he didn't think he would be able to let her go. But that didn't matter, loving Naruto and not saying nothing was a waste of her time, because deep down, he knew that blonde would return her feelings, all he needed was to be aware of them. As he had said, she laid a snare and she never knew it.

"I love you. Hinata Hyūga" he stated as he kissed her one last time. Gently, softly, and sad. Hinata almost wanted to cry. However, the war began and Hinata realized there was a possibility, she would never see him again.

But it was too late, and before Hinata knew it they were at war and she never really saw him again.
