Secrets of a Gryffindor Princess

A/N; This is set from year 4 onwards

Chapter One - Apologies and Summer break

Hermione Evelyn Arielia Malfoy or as we know her as Hermione Jean Granger sighed at having to put her glamour charm over her true self as she didn't want to lie anymore but knew it was the best way to keep protected.

She knew that because of the brewing war with Voldemort that it was the only way to stay safe but as soon as she entered Malfoy Manor she removed her glamour charm of chestnut brown hair and brown eyes the true Hermione had long blonde hair with streaks of black, she was quite tall at 5"8 and had a slender frame with hazel eyes from her mother. She was also the daughter of Abraxus Malfoy and Rayna Malfoy nee Carrows and the younger sister of Lucius Malfoy, sadly Rayna died shortly after Hermione was born due to an illness that was caught too late.

Hermione walked towards Draco's room and her hair blew gently in the soft summer breeze as the windows were open on the hot august summer day and knocking gently she waited for Draco to give her permission to enter which he did after a few minutes.

She opened the door which had a dragon on it and then said "Draco I'm so sorry about the slap I gave to you when we were at school, I didn't want to do it but I had to make it look convincing in front of Harry and the Weasel otherwise they would've gotten suspicious of me" After finishing she tucked a stray wavy curl behind her ear.

Draco looked towards her and nodded his head then calmly said "I hate this too Evie but we have to play these roles until the war is over, then we can tell them and everyone who you truly are besides Severus protected all three of you against Lupin didn't he? That shows he cares deeply about you as well as being a professor"

Hermione smiled "yes but I howled to get him away from killing Sirius, I know he's a traitor but was he though? I mean he was in Azkaban for 12 years and I know Bellatrix is also in Azkaban"

Draco nodded his head "you make a good point and I'm sorry I have to call you a mudblood but you're not really you anyway"

Narcissa decided to pop her head in and said "dinner's ready also we managed to get tickets to the World Cup this year, I know you both love quidditch" Narcissa smiled and walked back downstairs.

Draco and Hermione smiled excitedly at this and headed downstairs for dinner, that's when they saw Blaise Zabini, Alecto and Amycus Carrows who were Hermione's cousins, Abraxus, Lucius and Narcissa. Hermione smiled whilst sitting down at the long table "it's good to see you Blaise, Amycus, Alecto I hope you're all well?"

Amycus and Alecto smiled gently then replied "we're well thank you Hermione how was your year at Hogwarts??"

Hermione smiling back replied "It was mostly okay but I had to punch Draco to keep up the act that I'm a know it all mudblood and well I really really hate it" Hermione then fiddled with her silver serpent necklace with rubies for eyes"

Blaise smiled at Hermione then said "I hope soon I can no longer hide that we're friends, it is extremely annoying that you cannot be your true self, Potter and Weasel won't take it gently when it happens"

Hermione laughed a little replying "I know and I have a feeling this upcoming year things will be different"

Hermione smiled as her brother Lucius and their elderly father Abraxus Septimus Malfoy walked into the room, Lucius took his seat next to his wife and next to his father, his long blonde hair tied neatly into a ponytail with a black band and resting his silver encrusted serpent cane/wand holder by his side, Abraxus placed his own cane by his side as he slowly sat down at the table as head of the family. Abraxus had long greying blonde hair and ice blue eyes, his own hair was tied up with a green band and he wore long green robes.

Abraxus smiled at Hermione knowing that this year would be different for her and for their family. He then said "this year will be a different one for us all, and finally you can emerge from the shadows Hermione. Wormtail told me that finally after all these years of waiting Voldemort will return"

Hermione smiled at her father then she looked at Draco and back at her father "does this mean I have to get the dark mark and become a spy? I will do it as it's my duty to do it, I won't let our family down father"

Suddenly Severus walked into the room, his plain black robes blowing in the soft breeze then he bowed at Abraxus then sat down "Hermione are you sure you want to do this? Once you do there's no coming back from it"

Hermione smiled at Severus "I know Severus but I have to do this even if it means I double cross Harry and the extremely annoying weasel, it actually disgusts me that he fancies me"

The rest of the summer break went by quickly for the Malfoy family as they spent time together, Hermione and Draco played Quidditch with Blaise and some of their other friends plus studying for the upcoming year. Before they knew it was time to say goodbye so Hermione could go to the Burrow then later sneak and join her family at the Quidditch World Cup.
