Chapter Four - Making of Plans and Finding out the participants of the tournament

After an eventful defence against the dark arts class Hermione stayed behind to talk with the new teacher who she knew was really Barty Crouch Jr.

She looked at him once everyone was gone and removed her glamour charm "what was that all about? Teaching us about the three unforgivable curses honestly that was sneaky" "Harry saw you lick your lips like you do normally you need to be more careful or you'll be discovered"

Barty looked at her "I know, woman but I wanted to scare them, now how do we get Potter into the tournament? The stupid age line Dumbledore drew around the cup prevents you or the boy from throwing in the parchment with his name"

Hermione thinking about it looked back towards him "well you'll have to do it then, same as you'll have to somehow create a portkey to get him to the graveyard, he will be mad at me when he finds out but that's the whole point and I will take the mark"

Later on that early evening a few students were in the great hall studying and that's when Cedric entered his name into the tournament, earlier that evening Hermione overheard Fred and George talking about making a potion to cheat the age line into thinking they was 17 so they could enter the tournament so Hermione cleverly tampered with the potion.

Fred and George came into the great hall happy that the potion was ready but Hermione rolled her eyes "it's not going to work" Fred and George went up to her and Fred said "and why wouldn't it work Granger?" Hermione cleverly pointing to the age line "you see this? That's an age line Dumbledore drew it himself so that would mean Dumbledore wouldn't be fooled as something dimwitted as an ageing potion"

They decided to try it anyway ignoring her advice and it backfired sending them backwards. Then they grew white hair and a beard then started to fight blaming themselves saying each other said it would work. Hermione secretly smiled whilst pretending to read her book.

Hermione then looked at Harry and Ron "I told them it wouldn't work"

Suddenly the hall went quiet as Victor Krum entered and then looking at Hermione he smiled at her then put his name into the cup.

Two hours later everyone ascended into the great hall for the draw of the participants of the tournament.

Dumbledore entered with the teachers then said "sit down everyone, now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champions selection ceremony" He then magically lowered the flames in the hall and placed his finger on the cup like a fingerprint scanner and then the cup's flames flickered and popped out the first piece of parchment as he caught it "the Durmstrang champion is Viktor Krum!" Students from Durmstrang cheered and clapped as he went to the stage shaking Dumbledore's hand and went into a room, next another piece of parchment which looked really fancy popped out as Dumbledore caught it "the champion of Beauxbatons, Miss Fleur Delacour!" Once again the students of Beauxbatons Academy cheered Fleur as she shook Dumbledore's hand and went into the room, next was when the champion of Hogwarts would be chosen so the parchment flew out of the cup as Dumbledore caught it "finally the champion of Hogwarts is Cedric Diggory!" All of the students from Hufflepuff and his friends cheered him on as he shook Dumbledore's hand then went into the room.

Dumbledore hushed the crowds "That's it, we now have our three champions who will battle it out for their chance at winning the tri wizard cup!"

Everyone clapped then as it all went quiet the flames flickered going red and spat out another piece of parchment as Dumbledore caught it shocked he said "Harry Potter" everyone was shocked themselves as was Harry, Dumbledore angrily shouted "Harry Potter!!"

Hermione urged him to go up to Dumbledore "Harry for goodness sake just go up there"

So he went up to Dumbledore and then he took the piece of parchment as someone said "he's a cheat! He's not even seventeen yet!!" Harry looked at the teachers as McGonagall patted his shoulder then led him into the room where the other champions were waiting.

Soon as the students were let go, Hermione secretly cast a spell so that Ron would turn his back on Harry regarding the fact he didn't tell him he was going to enter the tournament which was part of her plan to keep them from discovering the truth.

Meanwhile in the room the champions looked at each other awkwardly awaiting what would happen now that there was four participants, two from Hogwarts and one from the other two schools participating, suddenly the teachers entered the room along with a few aurors who attended the ceremony alongside Barty Crouch.

Dumbledore looked at Harry asking him he said "Harry did you get a older student to put your name into the goblet of fire?"

Harry looked back at him "No sir i didn't i don't know who put my name into the cup, i don't want eternal glory or to be a part of this i just want to be a normal student who has no trouble following them"

Dumbledire looked towards Barty "is there a way to overturn this? I mean can't you stop him from participating he's only a fourteen year old boy?"

Barty went quiet for a moment then thinking about it turned back fear in his voice "I'm afraid the goblet of fire is like a magical binding contract, Mr Potter has no choice he is as of tonight...a Tri-wizard champion"

After Barty said this the teachers, aurors and three participants looked towards Harry, the teachers especially Professor McGonagall was concerned for his safety due to the dangers the tournament brings.

Dumbledore nodding his head said "Alright then we shall proceed with the tournament as planned, now i suggest we all get some sleep, tomorrow the Daily Profit will be here to do a exclusive on the champions participating in the tournament"
