Chapter Five - Broken friendships and Interviews

The next morning Harry woke up and looked towards Ron then he got out of bed and said "I didn't put my name in that cup, I don't want eternal glory I just want to be…look I know it happened and I don't know why but I have no choice"

Ron looked back at him "for now just don't talk to me unless you have proof"

Harry then got dressed and said "fine, at least Hermione will believe me"

Harry made his way down to breakfast, Harry got so many dirty looks but decided to rise above it all and ignore it all, he sat beside Hermione who secretly smirked that the spell was taking its course.

She smiled a bit "I believe you Harry that you didn't put your name in the cup, we haven't learned any spells or potions that would trick the age line plus we're only fourteen we still have a lot to learn"

Harry smiled back "thanks Hermione I'm glad you at least believe me"

After breakfast he and the other three champions made their way into a classroom guided by Professor McGonagall where the Daily Profit were waiting.

After Harry had his interview trying to clear up that he was fourteen not twelve he was annoyed and frustrated so he went to the lake for a walk, that's when Hermione tried to convince Ron to speak to Harry but knew it would cause a further rift in their friendship and she knew what Ron knew about what the first task would be as he saw his brother Charlie earlier that day with the dragons, she followed him under a concealment charm.

Hermione walked towards Harry "Ronald would like me to tell you that Dean was told by Parvati that Hagrid's been looking for you"

Harry looked at her confused "ok you need to speak slowly, if Ron wants to tell me this he can tell me himself the absolute git"

Hermione looked at him then at Ginny who was also there "Dean was told by Parvati that…oh jeez please don't ask me to say it again, Hagrid's looking for you" "I'm not an owl and I won't become peacekeeper between you and Ronald because this is pathetic!"

She then walked away with Ginny as Ron gave Harry a dirty look then left him alone.

Later on that evening Harry met Hagrid and then discovered what the first task would be and that Ron knew about it due to his older brother Charlie being a dragon keeper.

The next morning everyone was in the great hall having breakfast and the edition of the Daily Profit arrived, it had the interviews inside it but Hermione was annoyed that they got Harry's age wrong "how dare Rita Skeeter say Harry's twelve years old and to say that about his parents is…it's horrible!"

Ron looked towards her "well serves him right, I think he enjoys the limelight, he just had to go break the rules"

Hermione looked back at Ron "he's been set up but I don't know by who yet but soon as I find out I will tell you"

Ron looked back at her "Hermione he's always getting into trouble and dragging us into it, what makes you so sure he didn't find a spell to cheat and get his name in the runnings of champions??"

Hermione frustrated but secretly happy that the spell was doing what it's meant to do "Because Harry's only fourteen like us we don't have that kind of powers yet it's impossible".

After breakfast Hermione went to the Slytherin common room to talk with Draco but had to ask Severus to let her into the common room as she wasnt really supposed to be there. Draco smiled at his aunt "what brings you here Hermione?"

Hermione hugged Draco as the other Slytherins wondered why she was there too, Pansy Parkinson walked over to them "ugh get your filthy paws off him mudblood!!"

Hermione frustrated at this said "oh right, you dont know yet do you? I'd watch your mouth Parkinson if i was you"

Hermione then removed her glamour charm "I hate being known as a mudblood as i am far from it, my real name is Hermione Evelyn Ariella Malfoy I'm daughter of Abraxus and Rayna Malfoy and cousin to Alecto and Amycus Carrows, this whole pretense of being a muggleborn was to keep me safe during the upcoming war that's brewing"

Hermione then cast a bat bogey hex on Pansy Parkinson then sat down with a smirk on her face. "The plans are in motion to get Potter to the graveyard, be prepared the dark lord shall rise again"

After she spent some time with her nephew and close friends she placed her glamour charm back over herself then she left the Slytherin common room under a concealment charm back to the Gryffindor common room where she pretended to read but overheard Harry and Ron arguing, Harry an hour before had a fireplace talk with Sirius about his intense dreams involving Wormtail aka Peter Pettigrew and Voldemort.

The next morning whilst walking in the corridor by the courtyard for a free period badges were being sold with Cedric's face on them to support him but also as a joke would turn into a picture of Harry with a stink, many of Hufflepuff were wearing them against Cedric's words not to wear them, Hermione joined Harry and looked towards Cedric "Cedric this is completely uncalled for, Harry didn't even want to be a part of the tournament in the first place!, tell them to take them off now!!"

Cedric felt really bad about it and was a little bit scared of Hermione's temper "I told them not to wear them but i can't force them to take them off, i'm truly sorry Harry and Hermione"

Harry smiled a bit "don't worry about it Cedric, i know now you tried to get them to take them off that's all you can do"

Harry and Hermione continued walking then bumped into Ron, Harry was a bit annoyed that Ron didn't warn him about what the first task would be "you're a right foul git you know that right?"

Ron looked at him "you think so? And what have i done to deserve that comment?"

Harry straightened his tie "you didn't bother to warn me about what the first task would be, your older brother Charlie works at a dragon sanctuary for crying out loud"

Ron straightened up as he was leaning on the wall "No, no i did try to warn you don't you remember? I told Hermione to tell you that Dean told Parvati that Seamus told him that Hagrid was looking for you but it was really me all along i just wanted you to learn that friends don't keep secrets from each other"

Harry felt bad for saying what he said "Okay who in their right minds could figure that one out, it's impossible so does that mean we can be friends again?"

Ron smiled "yes of course and i'm sorry i got mad at you"

The Trio coninued to walk together into the courtyard and they bumped into Draco, Crabbe and Goyle, Draco jumped down from the tree "oh look here it's Potter, Weasel and the mudblood my father and i made a bet, you see i don't think you're going to last ten minutes into this tournament, he disagrees he thinks you won't last five" he then laughed with Crabbe and Goyle.

Harry walked up to him "I don't give a damn what your father or you thinks Malfoy!" Harry then shoved him "he's vile and cruel, you're just pathetic"

Draco drew out his wand "I'll show you pathetic" That's when the imposter Mad-eye Moody drew his wand "I don't think so sunshine" he then cast a spell to transfigure Draco from a wizard into a ferret, that's when he had a audience of students who laughed as Draco was being taught a lesson, in the end Professor McGonagall changed Draco back and scolded Mad-eye about the use of transfiguration as a punishment.

After the incident, Hermione snuck into the Slytherin common room where she found Draco "Draco are you alright? I'm sorry Barty did that"

Draco hugged her "I know and i'm sorry i called you a mudblood, i didn't mean it as you know but i had to keep your cover".
