Chapter 4
The Hyrulean Civil War Begins
Five weeks after the meeting with Baris the Hyrulean Civil War began. The first small battle took place in Hyrule Field. The North and South Hyruleans converged on each other. When King Ardus saw them he said, "Attack!"
The battle began. After a long and intense fight the small battle ended with a low number of casualties. The North and South Hyruleans then returned to their respective bases to regroup for the true first battle.
After five days the North and South Hyruleans began to head to the site of the first true battle in the civil war. The first battle will take place in The Sacred Forest Meadow.
1
The Battle of the Meadow
In no time at all the North and South Hyruleans converged on The Sacred Forest Meadow, and in very short order the first major battle of the Hyrulean Civil War began.
When King Ardus saw Baris and the rest of the North Hyrulean army he screamed, "Attack!"
With that loud cry the battle of the Sacred Forest Meadow finally got underway. The factions ran in on each other. A lot of the citizens were injured. After several minutes the battle ended with several casualties.
After the battle the two armies returned to their respective bases of operation.
Link said, "Well, it looks like we haven't lost that many people." King Ardus nodded.
Meanwhile, at King Baris's camp Sir Maralus said, "We've lost a lot of people."
"I know, but we still have enough people to ensure victory."
"Yes, Sir."
The two armies then prepared for the next battle.
2
The Battle at Death Mountain
The next battle took place at Death Mountain. The armies converged. After a long and intense battle the South Hyruleans lost three of their best citizen fighters. After the battle concluded the armies once again returned to their headquarters; awaiting the next battle.
3
The Battle of Gerudo Valley
The next battle is set to begin at Gerudo Valley.
When the South Hyruleans (fronted by King Ardus) arrived at the valley they saw that Baris and the North Hyruleans were already waiting.
The battle began. The armies charged one another. A momentous battle then ensued. A royal knight named Sir Plaris looked at Link and said, "I'll charge them!"
"No! Plaris wait!" It was too late Sir Plaris was already on the move.
When King Baris saw that Sir Plaris was coming he said, "Sir Maralus take him out!"
"Yes, Sire." Sir Maralus then charged towards Sir Plaris in order to kill him.

A Great Royal Knight's Fall
Sir Maralus and Sir Plaris met at the edge of the valley. Sir Plaris thrust his sword toward Sir Maralus's armor, but he missed. After missing his strike Sir Plaris tried for another but before he could Sir Maralus made one of his own.
Sir Maralus's sword went into Sir Plaris's armor, and pierced through striking his heart instantly killing him.
With Sir Plaris dead Sir Maralus returned to King Baris.
Immediately after Sir Plaris's death the battle ended. The armies returned to their bases to once again prepare for the next battle.
5
The Battle of the Forest
The next battle in the Civil War took place in Kokiri Forest.
The South Hyruleans were already in the forest awaiting the arrival of the North Hyruleans. When they arrived Link hollered, "There they are! Attack!"
Upon hearing Link's battle cry the South Hyruleans (still fronted by King Ardus) attacked. (The North Hyruleans were still being fronted by King Baris).
The battle began. King Baris sent Sir Maralus out to kill Sir Randof, but fortunately, he was stopped by two Hyrulean knights named Sir Noram and Sir Carilius. Sir Maralus was unable to fend off Sir Noram and Sir Carilius. They swiftly killed him by stabbing him through the heart with both their swords.
Upon the death of Sir Maralus the three knights (Sir Randof, Sir Carilius, and Sir Noram) returned to the South Hyrulean camp.
6
The Fall of the King
The death of Sir Maralus caused King Baris to charge his brother with a sneak attack. King Ardus, who didn't even see his brother's approach, got stabbed in the upper chest.
Link saw the sneak attack on King Ardus, and he instantly knew that the wound he had received was fatal. It won't be long before a devastating blow is dealt to the South Hyrulean army.
7
The Death of the King
Immediately after receiving his fatal wound King Ardus looked at his brother and said, "Why ... did you kill me ... Baris? I only ... wanted my ... kingdom back."
"I had no choice. Now with your death Hyrule is mine!" After making this statement King Baris returned to his camp.
After King Baris left Link raced out to where King Ardus lay dying. He grabbed him dragging him back to the South Hyrulean camp. Once he was within the safety of Kakariko Village the entire South Hyrulean army gathered around the dying monarch.
Link said, "Please don't die your Highness. We need you."
Zelda said, "Yeah, please fight to stay alive Daddy."
King Ardus, in his dying breath said, "I'm sorry my daughter, but I cannot survive this wound. I will die shortly. Link after my death you will have to front the army assisted by Sir Randof."
"Yes, Sir."
"Good. I love you ... Zelda. Link take care of my daughter. Good ... bye." King Ardus took one final breath and then he died.
"I will honor your request to take care of Zelda Sir." Link said as he cried along with every person in the South Hyrulean army. After everyone was finished crying Link said, "All right I think it's time to put an end to this war. King Baris will pay for the regicide of our beloved King." The entire army gave a rallying battle cry. The final battle in the Hyrulean Civil War will soon be at hand.

The Final Battle: The Battle of the Woods
The final battle of the Hyrulean Civil War is set to be fought in The Lost Woods.
Since the South Hyruleans have jurisdiction over The Lost Woods the entire South Hyrulean army was awaiting the arrival of King Baris and the North Hyruleans. When they arrived the final battle of the Hyrulean Civil War began.
The fighting was very intense and after several hours a majority of the North Hyrulean army had been slain as well as the rest of the civilian troops that made up two thirds of the South Hyrulean's forces.
Seeing that their numbers were severely diminished Link ordered that the rest of the army return to Kakariko Village save for Sir Randof and himself. They did as instructed.
With most of his army dead King Baris ordered them to retreat.
Link seeing that they were leaving said, "Stop them!" The South Hyruleans (who were still leaving at this point) chased after the North Hyruleans. In very short order the entire North Hyrulean army (which consisted of the men that Baris brought with him) were all killed. The civilians were spared. Link instructed them to return home, and await the end of the war.
Once Link was sure that everyone was gone he set his sights on King Baris himself.
