Chapter 1: Motherly Reunion
William Melendez Hotel, 10:00 PM
After their evening at Sparkyville Birds Club, Eugene, Lydia and Jasmine went back to William Melendez Hotel where they would be staying while they were in Sparkyville. Much to their amazement, the hotel was 15 storeys high. Their room was on Floor 10. Eugene was about to settle into bed when a thought struck him.
"I'll call them tomorrow." thought Eugene.
Eugene hopped into bed with Lydia.
"Nighty night, Genie." said Lydia.
"Goodnight, Lydia." said Eugene.
Jasmine hopped into bed in the spare hotel room. She was also thinking about her parents.
Next morning, 9:00 AM
Morning had arrived, and Eugene made his decision.
"I think I'll phone home." said Eugene.
Eugene got out his mobile phone and called home. The phone rang and….
"Hello." came a feminine voice.
"Hello. Is this, Anya Green?" asked Eugene.
"Yes." said Anya. "How do you…. oh my goodness, Eugene, is that you?"
"Yes, Mum. It's me."
"Son! So glad to hear from you!" said Anya. "Is Jasmine with you?"
"She sure is." said Eugene. "Jasmine!"
Jasmine came into the room and saw Eugene was talking to their mother.
"Hello, Mummy." said Jasmine.
"Jasmine, is that you?!" exclaimed Anya.
"Sure is." said Jasmine.
"I wanted to call you to let you know we're in Sparkyville." Eugene said.
"That's wonderful!" said Anya. "Where are you staying?
"At William Melendez Hotel." said Eugene. "Is Dad there?"
"No." said Anya. "He's getting everything ready for your big sister's funeral."
"Speaking of whom, do you know why Emerald was the way she was?"
"Yes." said Anya. "Where can I meet you to tell you?"
"Sparkyville Park." said Eugene.
"Great. I'll see you there, Dear." Anya said.
After hanging up, Lydia made the offer.
"May I go with you, Genie dear?" asked Lydia.
"No thanks." said Eugene. "You stay here. Phone me if you have any baby problems."
