Chapter 7
A New Leader Arises
"What?" Link said astonished.
"You heard me."
"I know I heard you, but do you think I've got what it takes to be the king?"
"Yes."
"Ok. I guess I'm ready then."
"Very well. Let the crowning of our new king commence."
With those words the ceremony to crown Link the new King of Hyrule began. The ceremony took place in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle.
Sir Randof went over to Link and said, "Link do you swear to uphold the ideals of Hyrule for as long as you rule the kingdom?"
"Yes."
"And do you swear to uphold the honesty, kindness, and honor that comes with the responsibility of being the new king?"
"Yes, I swear to uphold all the ideals and obligations that come with the crown. I pledge my loyalty to the kingdom of Hyrule and I also pledge my unending allegiance and belief in the Goddesses. I will use the wisdom of Nayru to rule Hyrule with a just and loving hand. I will use the power of Din to ensure peaceful relationships with every kingdom that we aren't allied with. And finally, I will use the courage of Farore to defend Hyrule in times of crisis."
"Excellent. Now, you are the king." Saying this Sir Randof placed the crown on Link's head; making him the new King of Hyrule. Sir Randof went on, "King Link you may now go to your royal chamber with Queen Zelda so you can rest."
"Thank you Randof." King Link then joined Zelda in his chamber to work on his first royal proclamation.
Zelda looked at her husband and said, "So, Link are you going to work on your first proclamation?"
"Yes."
Link then began to work on the proclamation. After several hours he finally finished it. After he was finished he sent for Sir Randof.
When he arrived Link said, "Gather everyone. Bring them to the castle so I can deliver my proclamation."
"Yes, Sire at once." Sir Randof left.
Sir Randof gathered everyone as instructed, and when they finally arrived inside Hyrule Castle's courtyard King Link stepped out and prepared to deliver his proclamation to the entire Hyrulean population.
