(Hey guys i'm back with another fanfic that's an inspiration from one of my favorite mystery diagnosis episodes hope you enjoy)
Mana and shido were in the master bedroom playing checkers for a little bit while shido then went downstairs for something as mana went over to get off the bed something came over her. A weird sound began to play out as she opened the door (OP. like in the actual episode sorry couldn't help but add that little detail.) as she called out for shido and then collapsed onto the ground her skin turning an ashly white and shido entered the room she began convulsing and shido dialed 911.
As the ambulance came and the emts arrived mana came to her skin coler returning to normal. Uhhg what happened mana said concerned as she looked up at shido and the emts. Never mind that now mana their taking you to the hospital shido said, urrg no i'm perfectly- uhg she fell back down after trying to get up as they put her in the ambulance on the stretcher and took her to the ER. Once there they runned some tests on her like a cat scan and everything, after a few hours they got back with the lab results. Well that's odd her brain seems perfectly fine the docter said to mana and shido, are you sure she had a seizure the docter asked shido? I'm sure it was one she was convulsing and everything shido said to the docter, well whatever it was it seems to be gone for now. Eventually mana had to use the restroom and asked everyone to leave to which they did and she got up and headed twards the bathroom door but about halfway she felt a now familiar sensation and said uhg noo and she collapsed again her skin again turning the same sickly white as before and she convulsed once more this time after everything a nurse came to check on what that noise of her falling was and her eyes went wide seeing mana her skin was still pale as the nurse pressed a button by the bed CODE BLUE WE HAVE A CODE BLUE! Mana was DEAD and had no pulse by her skin coler it seemed she had been dead for a few minutes so they had no time to waste and to shock her heart to start beating again and luckily it worked.
As mana came to again now everyone was freaked out the nurses, docters, and shido mana was more confused than anything and didn't realize what happened the last thing she remembered was heading to the bathroom and then there was blackness. Still believing it was some weird seizure they gave her some seizure medication and got another cat scan but yet again no weird brain waves she seemed fine besides the seizures and they couldn't figure out what was going on. The main seizure medical professional said that after she takes the seizure medication they should stop occouring, a bit reluctant to go back home but ultimatly had no choice. She ultimatly tried the medication that night but instead of working something odd happens, when she got up she didn't even make it 2 steps before yet Again she had another seizure. Time and time again whenever she would get up occaissionaly and then collaps and have another seizure she wondered why the medication wasn't working so she went back to the seizure docter and he was of course shocked and said i've never heard of a seizure pationt who takes the medication have other seizures after taking it. Basically the medicen was useless and he ultamatly said there was nothing more he could do for her, seemingly crushed she wondered if her mysterious seizures would ever end she basically hit rock bottem until one day shido came across a socter who specialized in rare diseases and his gut told him that heay have the answers that mana is looking for.
After scedualling an appointment with docter shrouder they headed into his office and luckily mana didn't have another seizure on the way into his office. After entering his office dr. Shrouder said that mana looked like a typical teenager hair was blue, a fiesty personality and so on and when shido began telling him about her symtoms which included convulsing, and paleish white skin and these symtoms would happen conincidentally nearly every time she stood up. Apon hearing this second symptom dr. shrouder had a hunch he knew what was going on but before he could make the correct diagnosis he had to perform a tilt test which is a specific test that utalizes a big table basically mana would be laying strapped down and the table would begin to slowly tilt up putting her body as if she was standing up. As they began the test she felt fine but as the table was tilted up she felt a bit light headed and then again everything faded to black, and shido said when she collapsed she freaked out all the docters and nurses because... her heart stopped just like it did.. on the first day at the hospital. The tilt test had done the trick and the docter said i've had hundreds of people do this some have felt light headed, some were dizzy but i've never.. had a pationts heart stop.
Based on the tests results mana was diagnosed with vintrilical heart valve miropithy, (OP. a fake name cinsidering i can't for the life of me remember the real name of the disease) basically in a healthy individual blood flow always stays pumping through the body, but when a person stands up that signal is interupted but a normal persons body regulates the blood flow to start pumping normally again but in mana's case each time she would stand up her blood flow would be interupted and she couldn't regulate the blood flow and her heart would stop beating causing all of her symtoms from her convulsions, to her pale white skin and this also explains why it never happened while she was laying down. Her docter explains basically the pationt would be laying down and then when they get up the bloodflow would be interupted causing her heart to stop from the lack of oxigion which caused her pale white skin as well... these were not seizures they were a similar respone to manas body when her heart had stopped beating but to a regular person they'd see her convulsing and they'd be none the wiser. They were relieved to finally have a correct diagnosis and were told that with the right medication these episodes would stop altogether but they couldn't help but wonder why no one else had picked up on the diagnosis. They were told that this desease is very rare and they weren't giving the right symptoms to the other docters to remedy the situation as her symtoms at first were seizures not heart problems which also explains why the seizure medication didn't work because she wasn't having a seizure at all.
After beginning the medication in about a few hours mana autimatically felt something... relief now her mysteryous desease that had tormented her for so long was gone and she could return to her life as it was before, before her first heart stopping episode ever began.
