Chapter 8: The Calm Before the Storm

One year before Raditz's arrival on Earth, Kara Danvers made a life-altering decision. Inspired by her cousin Superman and driven by a desire to help others, she adopted the mantle of Supergirl. Wearing the iconic red-and-blue suit, she began protecting National City from crime, disasters, and alien threats.

At the same time, Kara discovered that her sister Alex worked for the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO), an organization dedicated to protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats. After proving her abilities and her commitment to justice, Kara joined the DEO, working alongside Alex to safeguard the planet.

For Kara, the transition wasn't easy. She faced doubts from the public, her enemies, and even herself. But through perseverance and her unwavering compassion, she became National City's beloved protector.

Kara's most challenging battle came when her aunt Astra and the villainous Non attempted to take over the Earth using the Myriad Project, a mind-control scheme to enforce their twisted vision of peace. Kara, with help from Alex, Superman, and the DEO, thwarted their plans in a climactic battle. Astra's army was defeated, Non's forces were dismantled, and Kara emerged as a true hero.

Despite her victories, the experience weighed heavily on her. The battle against her own people had reminded her of Krypton's destruction and the burden of her heritage.

Far from the bustling cities of Kara's world, Goku had spent the last five years in the quiet wilderness of Mount Paozu. Though he had defeated Piccolo Jr. at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, he knew there was always room for growth.

Unlike the canon timeline, Goku hadn't married Chichi. While he cared for her as a friend, his heart had been stirred by memories of someone else—someone who had once been part of his adventures.

"Kara..." he murmured one evening, staring at the stars. Though it had been years since they parted ways, her kindness and strength had stayed with him. He often wondered what had become of her.

Meanwhile, as Kara patrolled the skies of National City, her thoughts would sometimes drift to Goku. The boy with the tail had defied everything she thought she knew about Saiyans. His boundless energy, pure heart, and love for life had left a mark on her.

She often smiled, wondering if he was still the same cheerful, innocent person she remembered.

A year passed, and Kara's battles against Kryptonian threats subsided. She continued to work with the DEO, handling alien incursions and building her reputation as a hero.

On the other side of the world, Goku's training intensified. Though he was alone, he pushed himself harder than ever, driven by an inner desire to protect those he cared about.

But the peace was not to last. Unknown to both Kara and Goku, a new threat was approaching Earth—a threat that would change the course of their lives forever.

Kara sat in her apartment, staring out at the city lights. The memory of the Myriad Crisis still lingered, but things had finally begun to settle. She had grown into her role as Supergirl, and for the first time in a while, she felt a sense of peace.

Her thoughts, however, kept circling back to her past adventures. She remembered Bulma's eccentricity, Yamcha's awkwardness, and Oolong's antics. But more than anything, she remembered Goku—his laughter, his boundless energy, and the way he'd ridden the Nimbus Cloud with pure joy.

"I wonder if he's still out there," she said softly to herself.

At the same time, Goku stood atop a cliff overlooking the forests of Mount Paozu, the wind rustling his hair. He had grown stronger over the years, but his mind often wandered to Kara.

"She was really amazing," he said, smiling. "I wonder what she's doing now."

As the stars twinkled above, neither Kara nor Goku realized that their worlds were on the verge of colliding once more.
