Evangelion: Choas Days

Chapter 1- After Impact

As Shinji Ikari lays asleep in his cell he dreams of the horrors that occurred during Fourth Impact. As the dreams became more intense it forced him to awaken from his slumber. As he woke up, he noticed that his body was covered in sweat. "It was just a dream." Said the boy. As he was lost into his own thoughts. A familiar voice said to Shinji "Looks like you're finally awake you damn brat."

Shinji saw that it was Askua. Alongside Misato, Ritsuko, and Sakura. All four women stared down at him. As Shinji saw them he couldn't bring himself to look back at them. As Shinji looked down in defeat. All Misato did was glare at him with contempt and disappointment, while Ritsuko looked at him with indifference. Asuka gave him a look of disgust and Sakura looked at him with sadness. As Misato looked at him all she said to the boy was,

"Shinji Ikari not only has one, but two Impacts. This crime against humanity cannot go unpunished, you will be tried and judged. Until then stay in your cell and do nothing."

As she said these words, all Shinji could do was look down on the floor. Ritsuko in a monotone voice said "Here, you can have this back." sliding a plastic box to his cell. Shinji lifted his head for a moment, moving to see what was in the box. The box consisted of his former school uniform and his SDAT music player. As Misato leaves the room, she tells Shinji that "Your trial will begin three days from today. I suggest that you prepare."

As Misato, Ritsuko, Asuka and Sakura left his cell Shinji continued looking at the floor.

In the Wunder airship word spread of Shinji's imprisonment and trial. One female officer in her early teens said "Did you hear? We successfully captured the escaped prisoner". The other one a male in his late teens said "Yeah I heard, his trial is in a few days, hard to believe that this one kid did all this "I kinda feel bad for him", said the male officer. Before he could say anymore a woman with pink hair said "Well you shouldn't he's the kid who almost destroyed the world". "I know that Midori, but it seems pretty heavy to blame all this on him," said the male officer. "Just get back to work, you new recruits shouldn't just be standing around", said Midori. Both rookie officers yelled out "Yes" in unison as the speed walked away.

"You're a few years too young and a few gray hairs short to be giving people orders" said a man. When she turned around she saw a dark skinned man with no hair who sported a goatee. "What do you mean Koji? I may not outrank them but my role in Willie is way more important than theirs." said Midori. Koji looked at her with disappointment and said "Kid there are no small roles, everybody's job is important here."

"Yeah whatever." Said Midori.

"Jeez you're in a bad mood today", said Koji.

Midori responded by saying, "Actually I am doing pretty good today. Justice is finally getting served to that monster. He's going to answer for everything he's done."

Koji said "Yeah I heard, apparently his trial is going to be held privately with world leaders and political officials because most of the world doesn't know that he's the cause of Third Impact and Fourth Impact.

"Isn't that great, do you think he'll get the death penalty", said Midori with a happy look on her face. Koji with a bewildered look said, "Doesn't that seem a bit extreme?"

"Extreme!" Said Midori with an angry look on her face. "That monster almost ended the world and killed a lot of people, including my whole family. He deserves whatever's coming to him.

Koji with a serious but understanding look on his face said, "True, he was the cause of all this destruction. But he wasn't the only one involved, you're forgetting Nerv, Gendo Ikari, even members among our ranks played a role as well. The point is everything isn't black and white. What makes him different from any of us? "

"What makes him different from us is that we're trying to fix things, make things better? But that damn monster is a ticking time bomb." Said Midori with an angry look on her face.

"Why am I even explaining myself to you old man." Midori said as she walked away from Koji annoyed.

Koji only watched as she walked away from him. With a dumbfounded look on his face, all he thought to himself was "youngsters never listening to their elders."

In the Wundar ship cafeteria Asuka walked with a tray of food in her hand, as she was walking she noticed a girl with glasses and twin tails wave at her yelling "Hey Princess over her." To her annoyance Asuka walked to her table, as she approached her she noticed Sakura sitting with Mari. Asuka said to Mari "What do you want four eyes"? Nothing much, we're only talking about Puppy boy", said Mari. "And why would I care". Said Asuka. "Don't you know what's going to happen to him, they're going to put him on trial." said Mari.

Asuka said to Mari again "Like I said why should I care." Mari looked at Sakura with a worried look. Before Mari could give a response to her friend, Sakura said with a nervous look on her face said, "Asuka, I mean no disrespect but, weren't you and Mr. Ikari friends? That is at least what I remember my brother telling me." Asuka responded by saying "that idiot doesn't know what he's talking about." Sakura with a confused look on her face said "You were at least teammates that had to count for something." Asuka with a annoyed look on her face said "Listen Saukra, we have bigger problems to worry about like Nerv. We don't have time to worry about that brat. If anything this is a good thing for him, he won't get in our way." Mari chimed in and responded with "True, with Puppy boy out of the picture we'd have one less problem to worry about, but is it right to condemn him for all this." Well will just have to wait and see what they decide to do with him during the trial." Said Asuka as she beings to eat her food.

In her own thoughts Saukra couldn't help but feel conflicted about Shinji. Why was she coming to his defense? "He piloted the eva even after I warned him, begged him not to and caused two impacts. He's caused so much trouble for us. But he saved us in the past. She continued thinking about how she felt about shinji as she took a bite of her food.

Wunder ship - Captain Quarters

In the Wunder's private quarters Misato and Ritsuko were discussing their next move against Nerv. Any updates regarding Nerv, Ritsuko reported to Misato that "we've lost sight of Nerv, I suggest we send in our reconnaissance team to look for more info". Said Ritsuko as she lit her cigarette and huffed it. "Good Work, Ritsuko."

"You really should stop smoking, it isn't good for your health." said Misato in an attempt to ease the current situation. Ritsuko with a smirk said "sure when you stop drinking so much. "Misato with a faded blush on her face said "I don't drink as much as I used to." With a serious look on her face Misato in a monotone voice "How long till we get to our Destination for Ikari trial". "We should get there in a day or so". said Ritsuko. Misato said "I see." With a sad and tired look on her face. Ritsuko said "You should probably get some rest before we get there". "Yeah, I will." Said Misato. As she was walking to leave the room she opened the door to see Sakura to her surprise. Second Lieutenant Suzuhara, "What can I do for you?" said Misato. Sakura said with a determined look on her face and conviction in her voice, Captain, "I'd like to make a request."
