A/N: One of my readers was confused by what's going on. So, I just wanted to elaborate! Last chapter is morning after Jacob and Bella's wedding. Jacob has a meeting with the elders were they announce that Jacob and Leah are getting married but that also Bella is banned from the reservation. Jacob is so angry he walks out and is ready to phase but Leah stops him. Reminding him that its only four more days and then he can be with his wife. After that we see Bella at lunch and her school friends are discussion their college plans. To their surprise Bella has college plans that don't include the Cullen's and don't include a major of literature. It was in that moment that Bella realizes her school friends don't know her and she doesn't know them, she never did. With that in mind, she goes to the library to study however, Edward follows her which means the only Cullen's follow as well, especially Rosalie and jasper. Remember in chapter 9 when Rosalie and jasper planned to kill Bella? Well, after she told them she married Jacob there was no need for that. But Alice, Edward and Emmett didn't know. So, when Bella tells Edward she would speak to him, Rosalie is checking to make sure that Bella knows what she is doing.

… Edward stared at Bella as If she were the sun. it felt like forever since he saw her. She was so beautiful. Pale skin. Brown hair and her eyes. Her beautiful eyes.

Oh, if only he could hear her thoughts. "love" he began.

"Don't call me that." She said.

"love" he ignored her sigh of frustration "I don't understand, you were gone for days! And you didn't tell anyone where you were or why! I allowed you- "

"Hold up! You allowed me too? Edward you are not my father! Nor are you, my keeper! You don't own me! I am not an object! You have never treated me like your partner! You either treated me like I am some porcelain doll or your daughter! We have never been equals and the fact that you left me is testament to that! And dont you dare spew out that were mates bullcrap! Because we are not Edward! True mates could never leave each other the way you left me! I trusted you! I loved you! and you left! And when you returned you had the nerve to act like we were ok. That everything was ok! and it's not! Not with us!"

Edward eyebrows furrowed.

"Bella, I left for your own good." He argued.

"STOP SAYING THAT!" Bella bellowed "Did you even consider my feelings? My opinion? But what hurt worst was the fact that you didn't even say goodbye! You just left! arrghh! I swear if I could just show you-oh wait…. I can."

Before he could stop her, Bella grabbed Edward's hand and before he knew it, he was in another world.

"What? where am I? "He asked transfixed. "you're in my mind…" she answered quietly.

Edward looked at Bella as if she had three heads. He was in her mind? Never in his lifetime would he have imagined himself here.

"Edward, look…" Bella said as she pointed to something like a screen before them.

Edward turned and something like a movie began to play. Before him were montages, no memories.

Memories of he and Bella. And in more than one, he could see himself. He was sneering down at her. At her outfit, or her friends.

He never saw the look of sadness when he kept her away from those that loved her. But the one memory that broke him was him leaving her.

He left her all alone. in the woods.

Her left her hurt.

He left her broken…

And to make it worse he cut off all communication from her. How different would it have been if he had allowed Esme to send the letters?

Devastation filled Edward.

"Am I really that bad?" he questioned. Bella sighed.

"Sometimes I forgot how different we are… and yet were so alike. I mean whether you believe it or not, you still act like a seventeen- year-old from the Victorian age. And im just a nineteen-year-old senior… there's no room for us to grow."

"Why do I feel like this is the end?" Edward questioned.

"Because it is Edward. When we first met, I was caught up in your mystery and then as time went on, I fell in love with the idea of you. but we were never equal. We were never partners. Im to blame as well, I should have known that I was worth more then what you treated me. I should have stood my ground and I didn't. anyway, our time together is over Edward… I've found someone else, and I can only hope that you do too."

"… what? what… no? Bella, you cant. We are meant for each other." Edward cried.

Bella shook her head, letting his hand go. They were back in reality.

"No, Edward. We aren't. besides. Im married now; didn't you smell me? my scent has changed." She declared.

Edward hadn't thought about that. he was busy holding his breath, not wanting to inhale any scents. It had been too long since he hunted. The dark shades that he wore were his only saving grace.

Doing so, he pulled back in disgust as the smell of wet dog hit his nose.

"Uggh… Bella what- "

"Edward, you always said you wanted me to have a full human life, as if I never existed. Well, you got what you wanted. Im staying human, im married. I have found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with…"

Edward was stunned.

Was this really happening? Once again, he was losing the love of his life.

But… she was right. All he wanted was for her to live a human life, he just never thought he wouldn't be in it.

"…. It's the dog, isn't it? The man you married?" he questioned.

Don't you dare hurt her leech!

Edward looked down into the tree line, to see Jacob black staring back at him. Of course. Why wasn't he surprised?

"His name is Jacob Edward… and stop staring at him." Bella growled.

Edward looked up in surprise. She was always keeping him on his toes. Could he really let her go?

"You can see him? From that far?"

"Being mated to the alpha has its perks…" she said pride flowing off her. "Are you guys going to leave? Or are you going to finish the school year? Either way, you guys can't return., more wolves will phase if you do."

Edward looked up to the cloudy sky.

What would he do now? Without her, he had no idea.

"I don't know. I have to talk to Carlisle… however, from Jacob's thoughts I see the volturi won't be of concern."

Edward held back a growl at the sexual thoughts that emitted from the wolf. All the things he had imagined doing to Bella, they would never come to pass.

Don't like, don't look. Now say what you have to say to her and leave.

Edward twitched. What did Bella see in him?

"I dont get it? Why are you giving up so easy? Not that I mind but when I was with you a few weeks ago, you wouldn't even let me go to the bathroom by myself. What's your deal Edward?"

Edward had to laugh at her suspicions and the subtle fear in her eyes.

"Oh, Bella. After all the things you and I have been through, now you fear me? although I don't blame you. it does seem like im giving up easy doesn't it. Well, you are right. Deep down, I still am that seventeen-year-old Victorian gentlemen. I love you with everything I am. And… I may have been obsessed with you too. Your mind was and still is a mystery to me. its shame, I only got a small preview. I saw Jacob's mind. He can give you everything I can't… but don't worry… I'll be watching…"

And with that said, Edward kissed Bella on the forehead and walked away….

Jacob paced at the tree line. Right now, his mind was split into two. The wolf was ready to rip the leech to shreds, the treaty be damned.

And yet the man, the man was trying to understand. His wife needed closure.

She needed to rid the leeches from their lives.

He was just about at his wits end when a warm body came crashing into his.

"Bella…"

Her name was like a prayer to him. Balm that soothed his soul.

"Hey… ! what are you doing here? I thought we wouldn't see each other until tonight?" she asked as she crashed into his chest, allowing his arms to wrap around her.

"Seth told me you were alone with Edward." He stated firmly. "Honey, I trust you. its them I don't trust. I understand, you needed to

set things straight, but the wolf doesn't. all he sees is his mate with the enemy."

"Oh… oh crap. I didn't even think about that! Crap jake im- " "

No, no apologies. Seth showed me your plan with the ice queen and Mr. emo. Plus, Esme was in the distance." He said looking over his shoulder.

Bella looked around him, to see Esme leaning against a tree. "Hello sweetheart. Playing hooky?"

Bella blushed. "Maybe…"

"Bella… we need to talk." Jacob said as he guided her to a rock, further in the forest.

"Oh no… what now?"

Jacob sighed as Esme and Seth sat on either side of him. "it's the elders… they've banned you from the reservation." Bella didn't seem phased.

"Oook? I thought they already did that. Sam told me a while ago, I wouldn't be allowed to see you sooner or later." She shrugged.

Jacob snarled.

"Stupid Uley. Listen honey. Sam may have told you that you couldn't see me, but he didn't ban you from the reservation. The elders have made a decree… and their making me do it of course" He spat.

"Ok, well did they give you a timeline?" she questioned.

"Yes, after today you are not allowed."

"But Charlie is still allowed right? Right?! They can't ban him because of me?" she asked sounding panicked.

Hey, hey. Breath. Charlie was never mentioned. So, for right now I think he fine."

Calm filled Bella once again as she thought.

"Ok, so how about this? Charlie and I come over for dinner, then you and I head to Sam's where you tell me Im not allowed back down anymore. I get dramatic, Sad and then storm off. Making it seem as if im done with you…"

The very thought had Jacob grabbing his chest. He could see her, teary eyed and screaming at him.

Oh, it hurt. He didn't want this. He couldn't do this… he-

"Jake… breath. Relax… im here. Look, this hurts me too. But we must do this. You can even come visit me until Friday. They said I couldn't come to the reservation, they never said you couldn't come to forks…"

Jacob buried his face in his wife's neck.

Why did everything have to be an uphill battle with them?

"Ok… your right…" he agreed. This separation would just be temporary. "I have to get back…"

Sadness creeped into his wife's face. "Tonight, for dinner?" she questioned.

"Yes mam… Seth, you'll have to come home. Cant have you stay away for too long. Esme. can you- "

"You dont even have to ask… I have her covered Jacob…"

With his mates safety assured, Jacob kissed her like he would never see her again and then he and Seth were gone.

"Ahh, young love…." Esme teased as she walked Bella to her truck. The latter sighed in frustration.

"Why does it have to be so hard?" Bella questioned.

"Love has many battles, Bella. How about some ice cream and then Ill tell you a story…"
