Leah felt her eyes roll back in her head as Henry laid trails of kisses down her neck.

She hadn't been touched like this in years and right now the wolf was ravenous.

"Mmmm, such a sweet girl. Ya like that?" Henry questioned as he kissed her again.

"Yes. Yes." She panted.

She could feel Henry move between her legs and his hands moving to her center but before he could continue, his phone rang.

"no." Leah growled. Henry chuckled.

"Sorry love, this is important if their calling me on my emergency line. Give me five minutes?"

Leah groaned.

"I wish babe. But I got to get back to the reservation. My second husband needs me."

Henry made a face but then made a show of slapping her butt. "I don't share…"

"Neither do I. just a few more days and then…"

"And then we can go from there?" Henry questioned. Hope flashing in his eyes.

"Yes. We can go from there…. just… just be patient with me." Henry put the phone down and took her face in his hands.

"I will always have patience for you. I know this is new and I knew this marriage was last minute, but I really want to make it work."

Leah allowed herself to lean into his touch. Her body completely relaxing.

"Know what I see when I look you? I see a beautiful women. A wonderful women, who had been hurt and is scared to love again. but let me love you."

"I don't know how Henry. I don't know how to trust anymore, and I don't know what Jacob has told you about us but im not a normal human and im afraid that will affect everything." Leah cried.

"Hush now, don't you go messing up that pretty face with those tears. I know all about you going poof. It will be ok. everything will be ok." Henry comforted.

With that said he took his wife into his arms. His phone call forgotten.

...

Jacob tapped his fingers restlessly on the wooden table. It had been seven hours since he saw his wife. He and his wolf were restless.

Restless and angry. Angry at his tribe.

Angry at the elders.

Didn't he deserve a shred of peace?

People thought being Alpha meant having power, respect and just bossing people around but it was way more then that. It was beyond the superficial things. Being Alpha meant being a leader. It meant sacrificing your own time, your own will for your pack and its people. Jacob agreed that being Alpha was hard and it was the highest privilege but at the cost of his own happiness? That just didn't feel right with him.

"Jake?"

Jacob stopped his tapping as Embry approached him hesitantly. His neck exposed as a sign of submission to a pissed off Alpha.

"Yes?" it came out stern then he meant it to.

"Well, the bonfire going, and the hot dogs are being roasted. Everyone is here except for Leah. We uh, wanted to know if you were ready?"

Jacob took a deep breath, trying to relax his muscles. "Im sorry you guys must be tense."

"Uh yeah, kind of we can feel your anger. Paul almost chewed quill's head off. It was never like that with Sam" Embry mumbled.

"Yeah, but Sam wasn't the blood-born Alpha. So, it's different." Jacob said as he stretched.

"It sure is." Embry agreed as he stretched in neck in submission. With ease, Jacob cuffed the male's neck and took a deep breath.

"Relax. All of you… relax…" he commanded as he knew the rest were listening.

"you've been really tense lately. You're not… abandoning us, are you?"

Suddenly, Jacob was hit with a wave of Panic and fear. Also, some underlying irritation.

" Outside." He ordered

Doing as so, Embry followed him out unto the porch where the pack awaited him. Tonight, was a wolves only meeting.

And for this particular reason.

Right now, his pack was scared. Scared of the future. Scared of the unknown. He wasn't the only one who had been Affected by his arranged marriage. To make it worse, they could feel his emotions and he could project them unto his pack. making them riled up as they were now. As soon as Embry asked if he was abandoning them, fear went through the roof.

"Phase ."

The pack did as so, and Jacob kept his thoughts on Lockdown.

Now, doggy pile. He thought.

Immediately the pack scrambled together a tangle of paws and tails .

Physical touch was a need within the pack. no one liked or wanted to be alone, hence the pack always being in pairs.

Everyone listen. I am not abandoning you and I apologize if I made you all feel that way. It's just been a very stressful week, but I know its not just me. some of you are concerned that the elders might try to marry you off or even try to take away your imprints. But hear me now, I will not allow anything to happen to you. The elders will not force themselves or their rules upon you. it ends with me.

With his vow to them given, the pack settled down, enjoying the scent of their Alpha and the kindness he brought.

But all good things must come to an end.

The sound of Bella's truck had then all freeze except for Jacob. Seamlessly, he untangled himself from the pile and phased back.

His feet carrying him to the heartbeat awaiting him on the front porch. To anyone else not seeing their wife for seven hours might be fine, but to a newly mated Alpha, hours felt like years.

"Jacob." His wife said tensely.

Instead of answering her, Jacob took her into his arms and kissed her like no tomorrow.

"That wasn't apart the plan." She responded in a slight haze. "Screw the plan."

He then proceeded to carry her to the forest.

"Embry, everyone can start eating. Ill will be back within the hour. Maybe two." He said softly, knowing he could hear him.

"You got it Jacob. What are you going to do with Bella?" Embry questioned.

"The elders have banned her from the reservation. Im going to go talk her for a while and explain some things."

"alright. good luck."

With orders given, Jacob held on to his wife just a little tighter.

His wolf was ready to jump out of his skin. He could smell her. Her arousal. Her excitement and her fear. But it wasn't that she was scared of him per say. It was fear of the unknown. An exciting fear of anticipation.

He was quick to find a hidden and yet sacred spot, his hands trembling, as his wolf was on the rise.

Putting her down, Jacob told her one thing.

"Run."

" Huh? Jake what- "

"Run."

"jake I don't understand why you-"

Jacob roared as he sternly and yet gently grabbed his wife, his mate, by the chin. His eyes glowing an eerie yellow.

" Wolves. Like. The. chase. Now…. RUN!"

Sensing that he needed this, his wife, stopped thinking for once and did as he asked.

Her back facing him as she took off. Jacob growled.

His wolf broke free.

It was now or never.

"ready or not! Here I come!"
