Hokulani Observatory Island Trial
Lincoln and his family continue making their way up Mount Hokulani where his next Island Trial awaits; they soon see a large facility with a large telescope in it up ahead.
"That's gotta be it." said Lincoln.
"Let's hurry!" said Shelby.
As the Louds start to pick up the pace, they see something leap out of some nearby grass and land in front of them.
"What's that?" asked Shiloh. They look and see a Pokemon that looked like a large floating brown round rock with eye holes, and five small gray spikes coming out of it; Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Minior Meteor Form, the Meteor Pokemon. It lives in the ozone layer, where it becomes food for stronger Pokémon. When it tries to run away, it falls to the ground." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Lisa would like this Pokemon." said Lynn as she takes a pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Kabuto.
"Do it, cuz!" said Shane.
"Kabuto, use Aqua Jet!" said Lynn, making her Pokemon rocket towards the Minior while covered in water; it slams into it with great force, causing super effective damage.
"Nice one, Lynn!" said Lincoln. Suddenly, the Minior's outer layer shatters, revealing a smoother green body with wisplike eyes, and brighter spikes.
"What happened?" asked Shiloh. Out of curiosity, Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon again.
"Minior Core Form, the Meteor Pokemon. Places where Minior fall from the night sky are few and far between, with Alola being one of the precious few." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That's amazing." said Shelby. The Minior flies at Kabuto and slams into him, not doing much damage; Minior suddenly cringes in pain.
"That move was probably Take Down or Double-Edge." said Lincoln.
"Big mistake!" said Lynn. "Okay, Kabuto, use Scratch!" Her Kabuto lunges at the Minior and slashes it with his small legs, not doing much damage, but the Minior does fall to the ground.
"Catch it, cuz!" said Shane.
"I got it!" said Lynn as she takes an empty pokeball off her waist and tosses it at the Minior, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Lynn!" said Shelby. As Minior's pokeball is teleported to storage, Lincoln looks up its information.
"Minior has no gender, it knows Tackle, Defense Curl, Rollout, Confuse Ray, Swift, Ancient Power, Self-Destruct, Stealth Rock, and Take Down; it has the Shields Down ability which makes it change forms if it loses enough stamina, but in its Meteor Form, it can't be burned or paralyzed." said Lincoln.
After Lynn returns her Kabuto to his pokeball, the group continue walking until they reach the Hokulani Observatory; in the parking area, they see the bus their Alola friends used to get there, with them standing in front of it.
"Alola, everyone!" said Sophocles as he and the other Alola residents ran over to the Louds.
"What took you?" asked Kiawe.
"Team Skull showed up." said Shane.
"Not them again." said Alola Lana.
"Why do they always keep showing up?" asked Kiawe.
"Who knows?" asked Lynn. "I'll bet the girl members do so to be with Lincoln." Lincoln blushes at that statement. The Louds look around the area and see a Pokemon Center.
"Let's get our Pokemon treated, send Zach and Lisa the ones we caught for them, and grab some lunch." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, I could eat." said Lynn before everyone heads for the Pokemon Center.
Meanwhile, at the Lush Jungle, Chandler had his Tentacool out with the Totem Lurantis in front of them.
"Okay, Tentacool, use Acid Spray!" said Chandler. His Tentacool sprays a purple liquid at the Totem Lurantis, dealing super effective damage, and lowering its special defense; the Lurantis responds by lunging at Chandler's Tentacool with its pincer as it glowed green, dealing damage. "Tentacool, use Poison Sting!" His Tentacool releases a barrage of poisonous needles from his body, dealing super effective damage to the Totem Lurantis, and knocking it out.
"Looks like you beat it." said Mallow with no enthusiasm.
"That'll teach it to mess with Chandler McCann." said Chandler with a grin. A Passimian suddenly jumps out of a bush towards Tentacool; a blue barrier forms around him and Passimian rams into it, making it bounce back.
"That looked like Barrier; it increased the defense of the Pokemon that used it." said Mallow.
"Sweet; Tentacool learned a new move." said Chandler. The Totem Lurantis slowly gets up and walks over to Chandler; it holds out one of its pincers which had a Grassium-Z Crystal in it.
"It's giving you a new Z-Crystal." said Mallow.
"Nice." said Chandler. After he puts his new Z-Crystal in his pocket and returns his Tentacool to his pokeball, he walks over to Mallow and wraps his arm around her waist, making the girl frown. "Since we're alone, do you want to do something with me?"
Meanwhile, at the Hokulani Observatory's Pokemon Center, Lincoln and his family were handing the nurse there their Pokemon when the white-haired Loud suddenly growled.
"What's with you, Lincoln?" asked Shiloh with surprise.
"I have the sudden urge to hurt Chandler." said Lincoln.
"Perfectly normal." said Lynn as she hands the Pokemon Center nurse her Pokemon.
A minute later, back at the Lush Jungle; Chandler was slowly standing up while he was in a bush with leaves in his hair and a black eye.
"Sheesh." said Chandler as he rubs his bruised eye.
'Only boy I would want to have his arms around me is Lincoln.' Mallow thought to herself as she shakes her hand after keeping a promise she made to herself. The two then exit the jungle and Mallow gets onto the Charizard that Lincoln loaned to her and climbs onto it while Chandler heads back to Heahea City to where his boat is.
Back at the Hokulani Observatory's Pokemon Center, Lincoln was talking with his family back in Royal Woods on his Rotom Phone.
"I'm sending a Pokemon over for Zach." said Lincoln.
"And I got one for Lisa, too." said Lynn.
"Splendid." said Lisa. Lincoln uses the PC to send Elygem.
"The Pokemon I just send for Zach is called an Elgyem." said Lincoln before he tells his family about Elgyem's moves and ability.
Lynn then uses the PC to send the Minior she just caught over to the Loud house; Lisa grabs the pokeball out of her Pokemon Transport Device and tosses it, releasing the Pokemon inside.
"That's called a Minior." said Lynn. "It's like a meteor and we know you like that science stuff."
"Much appreciated." said Lisa as she begins to examine her new Pokemon.
"And I'll bring Elgyem to Zach's house." said Rita.
"Thanks, Mom." said Lincoln.
"What else have you all been up to?" asked Lynn Sr. The Louds tell them about their trek to the top of Mount Hokulani where Lincoln's next Island Trial is, and their Team Skull encounter.
"At least you're all okay." said Rita.
"And I hope Mallow doesn't find out about that Trix girl being all over you, Lincoln." Luan said with a smirk, making Lincoln blush.
"Hey, she came onto Lincoln, not the other way around." said Shelby.
"Anyway, I'm gonna do my Island Trial now." said Lincoln.
"Can we watch?" asked Lana.
"I wish to see the observatory myself." said Lisa.
"Okay." said Lincoln.
"But we're gonna eat first." said Lynn.
"I can bring Elgyem over to Zach while you're doing that." said Rita.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. He ends the call, and the Louds, along with their Alola friends, head to the cafeteria to have lunch.
Meanwhile, at the mansion that Team Skull was using as their hideout, Crook and Trix were walking in the front doors while frowning.
"Hey." Tupp said to the two Team Skull members.
"Hey." Crook replied with a sour tone.
"What's with you two?" asked Zipp.
"We got beaten by those Loud kids at Mount Hokulani." said Crook.
"No way!" said Tupp.
"Was my cutie there?" asked Rapp.
"Yeah, Trix here was all over him; hugging and kissing him, and she said she had that girl Loud with the black hair and glasses give him her phone number." said Crook.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" shouts Rapp before she leaps at Trix and the two girls have a catfight while pulling each other's hair.
At the top of the stairs in the foyer area, Guzma and Plumeria were watching the scene with frustration.
"Those Louds are becoming a nuisance." said Plumeria.
"I'll deal with the white-haired one at the Alola League." said Guzma.
Back at Hokulani Observatory, Lincoln's group was exiting the Pokemon Center after having lunch.
"That was good." said Shane.
"You know it." said Lynn.
"Ready to get started, Lincoln?" asked Sophocles.
"You bet I am!" said Lincoln with enthusiasm; he takes his Rotom Phone and calls his family via video chat; they soon answer, and Lincoln sees his family, along with his friends, all in the living room.
"Hi, buddy!" said Clyde. Zach takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing Elgyem.
"Thank you so much for this Pokemon, Lincoln!" said Zach. "You should've seen my parents' faces when they saw him!"
"Knew you'd like him." said Lincoln.
"When are you gonna send me and Clyde a Pokemon?" asked Rusty.
"As soon as I find some I think you'd like." said Lincoln.
"Okay, buddy." said Clyde. Lincoln then points his Rotom Phone at the Hokulani Observatory for Lisa to see.
"Whoa, Mama!" said Lisa. "That facility is incredible!"
"Follow me, LIncoln; I'll show you where you have to do the Island Trial." said Sophocles.
"You know where it is, Sophocles?" asked Lincoln.
"Of course; I am the Trial Captain here after all." replied Sophocles.
"You are?" asked Lincoln.
"Of course." replied Sophocles. He then leads into the observatory. As they walked through it, Lisa looked around via Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This observatory is magnificent." said Lisa.
"It sure is." said Sophocles.
Moments later, they arrived in a large room; Sophocles leads Lincoln to a large table with four buttons that had three Charjabugs on it.
"So, what do I have to do?" asked Lincoln.
"You have to arrange the Charjabugs so they are all lined up to the points on the table with the buttons on it." replied Sophocles; he points at a device that looked like a bug. "Once you've accomplished it, the energy will channel to that device which will lure the Totem Pokemon; you must then defeat it to pass your trial."
"Okay." said Lincoln. He walks to the table and pushes a button to see how it arranges the Charjabugs. Once he figured out how the controls worked, he was able to line up the Charjabugs the way they were supposed to and energy gets channeled to the bug like device; it activates and it begins to shake.
"It's working; I think a Pokemon is coming." said Sophocles. Suddenly, a bipedal, yellow Pokemon with black stripes and lightning bolt mark and protusions on its head that looked like outlet prongs appeared. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Elekid, the Electric Pokemon. When it hears the crash of thunder, Elekid's mood improves. It can be useful to record that sound and play it when Elekid's feeling down." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That's not the Titan Pokemon." said Sophocles. "Will you battle it? I don't want it causing damage to the equipment in this room.
"Sure." said Lincoln before pulling out a pokeball from his waist. "Trevenant, go!" He throws Trevenant's pokeball and releases her. "Trevenant, use Shadow Claw!" Trevenant leaps at Elekid while a shadowy aura surrounds her hand and she claws Elekid, dealing damage to it; Trevenant begins to twitch. "Oh man; Trevenant's paralyzed."
"It would appear this Elekid has the Static ability." said Sophocles. The Elekid releases electricity from its body and it hits Trevenant, but not doing much damage.
"Trevenant, use Horn Leech!" said Lincoln. Trevenant fights through her paralysis and leaps at Elekid while her horns glowed green; she rams Elekid with them, damaging Elekid, and knocking it out while healing Trevenant's wounds. "Good work, Trevenant." The Charjabugs on the table rearranged.
"Let's try again, Lincoln." said Sophocles. Lincoln nods before using the buttons to rearrange the Charjabugs until they lined up and started channeling more energy into the device; it begins to shake. Soon, another bipedal Pokemon with black stripes, a lightning bolt mark bigger than Elekids, and a pair of antennas on its head appeared. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Electabuzz, the Electric Pokemon and the evolved form of Elekid. Electricity permeates its body. It swings its arms round and round to charge up electricity before unleashing a punch." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That's not the Titan Pokemon either." said Sophocles.
"Get it, Lincoln!" said Lana. Lincoln nods before pulling out another pokeball.
"Lycanroc, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Lycanroc's pokeball and releasing him. "Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" Rocks formed above Lycanroc and he launches them at Electabuzz, damaging it, and lowering its speed. The Electabuzz leaps at Lycanroc and kicks him, dealing super effective damage. "Lycanroc, Rock Slide!" Rocks form in front of Lycanroc and he launches them at Electabuzz, hitting it, and making it flinch. "Now use Bite!" Lycanroc leaps at Electabuzz and bites it, dealing damage, and knocking it out.
"Well done, Lincoln." said Sophocles. The Charjabugs rearranged themselves on the table. "Let's try again; hopefully, we'll lure out the Titan Pokemon this time." Lincoln goes to the table and pushes buttons on it to arrange the Charjabugs until they lined up and began channeling more energy onto the device; it begins shaking. Electricity comes out of the device towards Sophocles.
"Sophocles!" yelled Lincoln. Suddenly, a large Togedemaru gets in between Sophocles and the electricity, absorbing it. "Man, that was close." Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"That's the Totem Pokemon!" said Sophocles. "Now all Lincoln has to do is defeat it and he'll pass the trial."
"I'd hate to do it after it saved you, but if it's what I have to do to pass the trial." said Lincoln before pulling out a pokeball. "Incineroar, go!" He throws Incineroar's pokeball and releases him; an aura surrounds Togedemaru.
"Incineroar, use Fire Fang!" said Lincoln. Incineroar leaps at Togedemaru while fire surrounds his fangs and he bites Togedemaru, dealing super effective damage; Incineroar begins rubbing his jaw. "You okay, Incineroar?" Incineroar nods before turning towards the Totem Togedemaru. Sparks comes out of its cheeks and it rubs them against Incineroar, dealing damage to him; he begins to twitch.
"Incineroar's paralyzed." said Lincoln. "Incineroar, use Ember." Unfortunately, paralysis stops Incineroar from attacking. Togedemaru becomes surrounded by electricity and rams Incineroar, knocking him back.
"Don't give up, Incineroar!" said Shelby.
"Incineroar, Ember!" said Lincoln. Incineroar fights through his paralysis and releases embers from his mouth that hits the Totem Pokemon, dealing super effective damage; fire surrounds Togedemaru.
"Togedemaru's burned." said Kiawe. Togedemaru releases electricity from its body and it hits Incineroar, dealing damage.
"Time to finish this!" said Lincoln as he holds out his wrist that had a Z-Ring on it and inserts his Firium-Z into its slot.
"Do it, Lincoln!" said Lynn. Lincoln does the poses to activate the Z-Crystal, making Z-Energy flow through him and is then channeled into Incineroar, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of him.
"Use Inferno Overdrive!" yells Lincoln. Incineroar gathers fire into a massive flaming orb and launches it at the Totem Togedemaru; the attack hits it, creating a large explosion that shakes up the observatory. When the smoke clears, the Togedemaru was unconscious.
"Lincoln won!" said Shelby.
"That was awesome!" said Shiloh.
The Totem Togedemaru gets up and looks at Lincoln and Incineroar before it leaves.
"Congratulations, Lincoln." said Sophocles as he walks over to the white-haired Loud.
"Thank you, Sophocles." Lincoln replied. Sophocles smiles before he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a yellow Z-Crystal with a lightning bolt symbol in it.
"You have passed the Hokulani Observatory Island Trial; here is your Electrium-Z Crystal." said Sophocles as he hands the Z-Crystal to Lincoln.
"Thank you." said Lincoln before he holds up his prize in triumph.
"Way to go, buddy!" said Clyde.
"Quite the spectacle." said Lisa.
"That was, literally, intense." said Lori.
Lincoln has passed another Island Trial. What else will the Louds experience as their Alola adventures continue?
