Geosenge Town
Lincoln and his friends are in an area on Route 10 with tall stones on their way to Geosenge Town which is on the way to Shalour City where Lincoln's next gym battle awaits him. Right now, Trevor was facing a dragonfly-like Pokemon with a green head, a red body and two red spikes on its head. Trevor takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Yanma, the Clear Wing Pokemon. Its eyes can see 360 degrees without moving its head. It won't miss prey-even those behind it." said Trevor's pokedex. Trevor takes out a pokeball from his waist.
"Pikachu, go!" said Trevor, throwing his Pikachu's pokeball and releasing him. Yanma flies at Pikachu with incredible speed and rams him, dealing damage; Yanma becomes surrounded by static and begins to twitch. "Looks like my Pikachu's Static ability paralyzed Yanma; now Pikachu, Electro Ball!" Pikachu forms a ball of electricity at the end of its tail and launches it at Yanma, hitting it, and dealing super effective; Yanma falls to the ground. Trevor takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Yanma, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled a few times until it clicked. "I caught a Yanma!"
"Way to go, Trevor." said Lincoln. Trevor takes out his pokedex and looks up Yanma's information.
"This says Yanma's a boy, he knows Tackle, Foresight, and Quick Attack; he has the Compound Eyes ability which raises his accuracy." said Trevor. He goes to Yanma's pokeball and picks it up; as he does, he sees a green stone with a yellow lightning bolt in it sticking out the ground near one of the tall stones. "A Thunder Stone!" He grabs the the stone and picks it up.
"What does that do?" asked Shauna.
"With this, I can evolve Pikachu." said Trevor. He walks over to Pikachu and kneels towards him. "You want to evolve, Pikachu?" Pikachu smiles and nods; Trevor touches Pikachu with the Thunder Stone and he begins to glow. Everyone watches as Pikachu began to change shape; when he stopped glowing, Pikachu was bigger, had dark orange fur with a white belly, yellow circle on each of its cheeks, and a long thin tail with a lightning bolt shape on the end of it. Trevor points his pokedex at his newly-evolved Raichu.
"Raichu, the Mouse Pokemon and the final evolved form of Pichu. When its electricity builds, its muscles are stimulated, and it becomes more aggressive than usual." said Trevor's pokedex.
"Congratulations, Trevor." said Tierno.
"Thanks." replied Trevor. After returning Raichu to its pokeball, the group continued to walk through Route 10.
"So, what did you guys think of that Mega Evolution thing that Astrid's Absol did?" asked Lincoln. "I thought it was amazing."
"Yeah; Absol looked much stronger than it was before the Mega Evolution." said Serena.
"I wonder how Astrid did that?" asked Trevor.
"Maybe we should go back and ask her." suggested Tierno. A nervous expression appeared in Shauna's face.
"No, no; Lincoln really needs to get to Shalour City for his next gym battle." said Shauna.
"Shauna's right; I'm sure we'll figure out more about Mega Evolution sooner or later." said Lincoln. Shauna lets out a sigh of relief before she and the rest of the group continued walking.
Moments later, they arrived at a town that was surrounded by tall rock structures.
"Here we are; Geosenge Town." said Serena. The group then walked to a Pokemon Center and went inside. After the group gave the nurse their Pokemon and then they walked to the cafeteria for lunch. Moments later, the group were at a table, eating.
"So, Lincoln; you think you're ready for your gym battle at Shalour City?" asked Shauna.
"Not sure; I guess I'll find out when I battle Korrina once we get to Shalour City." replied Lincoln.
"You've been training hard, Lincoln; I'm sure you can beat her." said Tierno.
"Maybe, but I prefer not to underestimate my opponents." replied Lincoln, making his friends nod in response.
After the group finished eating, they exit the cafeteria and walked to the nurse; after she gives the group their Pokemon back, they exited the Pokemon Center. The group began to walk east; as they neared the exit of Geosenge Town, they hear someone yelling.
"Lucario, what are you doing?" the group hear a familiar voice call out. The group turned to see a Lucario running towards them.
"A Lucario." said Serena. Seconds later, Korrina and another Lucario arrives.
"Hey, it's Korrina." said Lincoln. Shauna looks away while crossing her arms with a frown.
"Hey, you're that group from Route 5." said Korrina.
"Yeah." said Lincoln. Korrina looks at Lincoln.
"Hey, cute stuff." said Korrina, making Lincoln blush. "So, how are you doing?"
"Great; I just won my second gym badge yesterday." replied Lincoln.
"That's great." said Korrina. She looks at the Lucario that ran at them.
"What's with that Lucario?" asked Lincoln.
"I'm not exactly sure, but I think Lucario is saying it wants to battle you." said Korrina.
"Battle?" asked Lincoln.
"Would you like to battle us, Lincoln?" asked Korrina. "It won't be an official gym battle; just a regular one."
"Sure." replied Lincoln. Moments later, Lincoln and Korrina stood several yards from each other while Lincoln's friends watched. Lincoln and Korrina each pull out a pokeball.
"Lucario, go!" said Korrina, throwing one of her Lucario's pokeballs and releasing it.
"Go, Braixen!" said Lincoln, throwing Braixen's pokeball and releasing her. "Braixen, use Howl!" Braixen lets out a loud howl and energy surges through her body, raising her attack strength.
"Lucario, use Swords Dance!" said Korrina. Lucario closes his eyes and meditates; glowing blue swords circle him and cross together. Lucario glows red and his attack strength increases.
"Braixen, use Flame Charge!" said Lincoln. Braixen charges at Lucario while fire surrounded her body and she rams Lucario, dealing super effective damage; energy surges through Braixen and her speed increases.
"Lucario, use Feint!" said Korrina. Lucario disappears; Braixen looks around and Lucario reappears in front of Braixen and it punches her with its paw, damaging her.
"Braixen, use Ember!" said Lincoln. Braixen releases embers from her mouth and they hit Lucario, dealing super effective damage; fire surrounds Lucario's body.
"Lucario's burned." said Serena.
"Lucario, use Power-Up Punch!" said Korrina. Lucario leaps at Braixen while an orange aura surrounds its paw and it hits Braixen with it, dealing moderate damage due to Lucario's attack strength being increased by Swords Dance; energy begins surging through Lucario. It flinches in pain from its burn.
"Braixen, Psybeam!" said Lincoln. Braixen aims her twig at Lucario and fires a multicolored beam of energy at it and hits it, dealing moderate damage.
"Too bad Lucario's part steel; otherwise, Psybeam would've done more damage." said Trevor; Lucario begins stumbling around.
"But it looks like Lucario's confused." said Tierno.
"Lucario, use Feint!" said Korrina. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Lucario and it punches itself. Lucario flinches in pain from its burn.
"Braixen, Fire Spin!" said Lincoln. Braixen holds out her twig and releases a stream of swirling fire from it and it surrounds Lucario, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out. "Way to go, Braixen."
"Go, Lincoln!" said Shauna.
"You're doing great!" said Tierno. Korrina returns Lucario to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lucario." said Korrina. She puts her Lucario's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You beat one Lucario, Lincoln, now let's see you beat the other." She throws a pokeball, releasing another Lucario. "Lucario, Quick Attack!" Lucario charges at Braixen with incredible speed and rams her, knocking her back.
"Braixen, Fire Charge!" said Lincoln. Braixen charges at Lucario while fire surrounded her body and she rams Lucario, landing a critical hit, dealing massive damage to it; energy surges through Braixen and her speed increases even more.
"Lucario, use Counter!" said Korrina. Lucario becomes surrounded by an orange aura and it punches Braixen, not doing much damage, but knocking her back.
"Braixen, Fire Spin!" said Lincoln. Braixen releases a swirling stream of fire from her twig and it hits Lucario, dealing super effective damage; a fiery vortex surrounds Lucario.
"Lucario, Power-Up Punch!" said Korrina. Lucario jumps through the fiery vortex while an orange aura surrounds its paw and it punches Braixen, but not dealing much damage; energy surges through Lucario and increases its attack strength. A fiery vortex appears around Lucario and hits it, dealing damage.
"Braixen, use Psybeam!" said Lincoln. Braixen unleashes a beam of energy from her twig and it hits Lucario, dealing damage.
"Lucario, Aura Sphere!" said Korrina. Lucario holds out a paw and forms a blue ball of energy in front of it; Lucario launches it at Braixen and it hits Braixen, but not dealing much damage; Braixen drops to one knee. A fiery vortex appears around Lucario and it hits it, dealing super effective damage.
"Don't give up, Braixen!" said Lincoln, making Korrina's Lucario look at him. Braixen gets back on her feet. "All right, Braixen, use Flame Charge!" said Lincoln. Braixen charges at Lucario while fire surrounds her body and it hits Lucario, dealing super effective damage; it falls near Korrina, unconsious. "We did it!"
"All right, Lincoln!" said Tierno.
"That was amazing." said Serena. Korrina returns Lucario to its pokeball.
"I am very proud of you, Lucario." said Korrina. She puts Lucario's pokeball away and walks to Lincoln. "You're a strong trainer, Lincoln; I can see why Lucario likes you so much."
"Thanks, Korrina." said Lincoln.
"Don't forget, this wasn't a gym battle, so I won't give you a badge." said Korrina. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out pokedollars; she gives them to Lincoln. "And here's a little something extra." She grabs Lincoln's head and kisses him on the forehead, making him blush, and Shauna glare at her.
Somewhere on Route 10, Astrid was sitting on a rock, feeding her Absol Pokemon food from a bowl while stroking its fur while the rest of her Pokemon ate when an angry expression appeared on her face, getting her Absol's attention.
"I don't know why I feel angry all of a sudden; it's probably nothing." Astrid says to Absol.
Back in Geosenge City, Korrina was standing in front of Lincoln and his friends.
"That was quite the battle, Lincoln; I'll have to train my Pokemon to be ready for you when we have our gym battle." said Korrina.
"Then I'll train for our gym battle too." replied Lincoln.
"I'll see you and your friends at Shalour City." said Korrina. She winks at Lincoln before she skates past him and his friends, leaving Geosenge Town, unaware Shauna was glaring at her.
Moments later, Lincoln was spraying Braixen with a potion to heal her wounds after her battle with Korrina. After Lincoln returns Braixen to her pokeball, he turns towards his friends.
"Let's get going, everyone." said Lincoln. Everyone nods in response and they leave Geosenge Town.
Lincoln has defeated Korrina in a Pokemon battle. Will he be able to do it again in his gym battle with her? Wait and find out.
