the inventor and his journey Chapter 12: new pokemon new friends and more, a pokémon fanfic

before the group got ready to leave the lighthouse, they decided to have lunch. drax let all his pokemon out of their balls. his new shiny gardevoir instantly clung to his right arm.

"hello, hansom." she said. "could you not?" drax said. as he tried to shake her off. "aw, but dont you love me?" she asked. "you caught me so quickly just after we met." drax rolled his eyes. "this is gonna be a normal thing with you isnt it?" he said. "until you return my feelings, yes." she said. "yeah, we both know thats not happening." drax said. he waa slightly annoyed at this pokemon's mischeif.

a thorned vine wrapped around the shiny gardevoir's waist and yanked her away. taking her place was grifist. protectively hugging drax's arm. "he asked you to stop." grifist said as she possitioned her vines to strike at the newcomer. "oh, come now im just having some fun." gardevoir said. "i appreciate you wanting to protect me, grifist. but you can release me now. i can handle azula." drax said. "mmm, already giving me a nickname? why doesnt your precious grifist have a nickname?" the now named azula teased. "yeah, why dont i have a nickname?" grifist questioned. "you never asked." drax responded, now trying to shake grifist off his arm. "well i want one." she said. "okay, youre vermillion now. now release my arm!" he said. it was then that drax noticed a few of his other pokemon were standing behind him expectantly. mainly galvantula, glaceon, serperior, gyroblast, and galiantedge. (now that he knew the actual name of iron valiant thats what he addressed them by.)

"all right. all who want nicknames line up!" drax said. snorunt, garchomp, and mew joined the lineup. "alright. frostbite, slither, silk and ballistix." drax said gesturing go glaceon, serperior, galvantula, and gyroblast. "next. gardelade, snowfall, comet, and mecha." he said gesturing to valiantedge, snorunt, garchomp, and mew. "why is mew mecha?" asked elesa. drax pointed a thumb at said mew who was now wearing a mech suit made of ice. "thats why." he said. he then felt a tap on his shoulder. he turned to see gardelade. "i request upgrades." they said. "what kind?" asked drax. they pointed towards vermillion. "i dont know if that will work on you." drax said. "also you know vermillion is a girl right?" gardelade leaned into his personal space while glaring at him. "so. am. i." she said. "oh." drax said. "i thought you were genderless." she narrowed her eyes at him. "okay, okay ill get the serum." he said going over to his backpack.

grabbing one of the vials labled 'mistake' he began walking back over to gardelade but was stopped by snowfall. "whats up?" he asked. "i think im ready to evolve now." she said. "okay." drax said he reached back into the backpack and pulled out the dawn stone he bought for her. "here you go." drax said handing the stone to snowfall. she took the stone and was covered in a bright light. when the light died down, in her place was a black froslass. "so this is what having fingers is like." she said. "i like it." drax nodded and continued over to gardelade.

"i still dont know if this is going to work but here you go." drax said handing the vial to gardelade. "thank you." she said and downed the vial.

drax then walked over to elesa who was tending to her galvantula who was feeding off a thunderbolt produced by her emolga. "so, hows the newbie?" she asked. "shes a teaser." drax said. "that is not something i expect from a gardevoir." elesa snorted. "youve caught multiple pokemon that have their own little oddities and your complaining about the gardevoir that likes to tease you?" she asked. "oi, they're my pokemon and if i wanna complain about the shit they put me through, i will." drax retorted. "feel free. i wont stop you." elesa said.

ash then walked over with koraidon next to him and a kirlia on his shoulder. drax looked over at his pokemon and noticed that his ralts was still there. "where'd you get the kirlia?" he asked. "just caught her." ash said. "thats the second time you've caught a pokemon without anyone noticing." drax said. "third actually." said pikachu. "squirtle decided to join ash." drax looked over at the other four squirtle. the lead squirtle was gone. "we need to set up a camera for these situations." he said.

the group finished up their food and headed out. they chose to walk since only drax, elesa, and ash had pokemon they could ride. that is until brock revealed that misty, jessie james and meowth could ride on top of onix with him. then they all had a ride. they made for a canyon area on the map. geeta had told drax that it was one of the few areas that charcadet live.

when they arrived at the canyon area, drax spoke up. "i say we split up for now. theres multiple kinds of pokemon around here to catch and we might as well do a bit of searching before we hit the sack." he said. it was getting late so they couldnt do much but theyd work with what they got.

drax headed off to a nearby tree. he didnt expect to find any charcadet today but he had all day to search tomorrow. he let vermillion and slither out to help him look. "so what exactly do charcadet look like?" asked vermillion. "like small children with fire on their heads." drax said. "kind of a dark thought when taken out of context." said slither. "didnt need to have that put in my mind, slither." vermillion said with a shudder. "mon up, vermillion." said slither. "both of you shut it." drax said. "we're trying not t draw attention to ourselves."

they walked a bit further until drax heard the sound of fighting. he walked over to the noise and found a charcadet and ceruledge fighting. he gestured for his two pokemon to come over. "do not engage. i want to see where this goes." drax said.

upon closer inspection he realized these pokemon werent normal. both of them had more human shaped bodies. both being female. the ceruledge was quite feminine and had one of her blades out while the other looked like a human hand. the flames on her head were larger and had taken the form of hair made of fire. her armor was slightly different as well. it looked mostly the same but there was an opening in the chest revealing that she was in fact, female. drax questioned the choice in armor design since it left an opening for someone to attack.

the charcadet looked more like a child. her flaming hair was shorter and looked like a bob cut a little. she was clearly struggling.

"you're not blocking enough." the ceruledge said. she was speaking human. "its not exactly easy when youre so much bigger then me sis!" said the charcadet.

"interesting." drax said. "im going to go talk to them." he stood up and began walking towards the two. "be careful." said vermillion.

"excuse me?" drax said getting the two fire types attention. there was instantly a blade at his neck. "whoa." said drax. "i mean no harm." the ceruledge narrowed her eyes at him. "speak." she said. "my name is drax. im an inventor trying to help people and pokemon become closer with one another. i just want to know how you speak human and have a human appearance." drax explained. the ceruledge looked him over for a moment before lowering her blade. "we are descendants of a human and pokemon who once married a long time ago." she said. "so that book i read was true." drax said to himself. "is that all you wanted?" she asked. "not quite." drax responded. "i want to ask if you would be willing to travel with me and assist in my research?" the ceruledge looked him over for a moment. "not many humans would take a pokemon's feelings into consideration." she said. "i will accompany you. but only if my sisters may come as well." drax blinked. "of course. i wouldnt dream of splitting up a family." he said.

ceruledge lifted an arm into the sky and a pillar of blue fire shot into the sky. the sound of thumling steps culd be heard as two more figures stepped into the light. one was an armarouge with femine features and armor similar to the ceruledge. the other was a pokemon he didnt recognize.

she wore silver armor with a brown waist cape and maroon skirt. her hair while still flame like had six different colored flames. red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. unlike her sisters her mouth was more visible. her armor had some pink accents. her face arms and legs also had some pink. she also had a far more feminine body. she was slightly taller then the other two.

"these are my sisters. armarouge and spectraline." ceruledge said. "sisters, this human has offered for us to join him and assist with his research." the armarouge stepped forward. "is he trustworthy?" she asked. her voice was high pitched and a bit soft. "he is." ceruledge responded. "ill be the judge of that." said spectraline. she walked up to drax and began looking him over. she was slightly shorter then him. she grabbed his face and began examining him. she removed his hood and nodded at his look. she took one of his hands and checked out his arm. "interesting." she said. she dropped his arm and began walking around him. drax was a bit confused as to how this is supposed to prove he is trustworthy. she then lifted his cloak and to take a look at something. "nice." she wispered to herself. she then came back to his front and nodded. "he'll do nicely." she said. "but ill have a proposal for you later." she said tapping drax's chest with a finger. "um, okay?" drax said a bit confused. he didnt notice the looks that the three other sisters were giving eachother.

drax was the first to arrive back at camp. no one else had shown up yet. "wonder how the others are doing?" drax said.

James had only one thing in mind. an espathra. he loved the magestic appearance and the beautiful plumage. and with koffing, he could have a conversation with one. he'd been searching for some time now. thanks to this regions taxi service, he was able to go to the exact place where espathra normally lived.

after a while it started getting dark. with darkness comes cold. especially in a desert. "perhaps. we should head back and try tomorrow." james said but was promptly stopped from moving further when a small floating bird like pokemon bumped into him. it began falling out of the air, but james reached out and caught it.

"sorry about that." james said. "its fine." a voice in his head said. "oh, a psychic type?" james said. "yes. im a flittle." said the bid pokemon. "well its nice to meet you flittle. i am james. i was looking for an espathra to join my team but its gotten rather dark out. i dont want to be caught out here after hours." james said. hr began walking to the nearest taxi. "if it helps," the voice said. "my species evolves into espathra." james was instantly in front of flittle. "would you like to join my team?" he asked. "i wouldnt mind." flittle said. "it'd be better then worrying about the dangers i run into in this desert." james held out a pokeball. "then welcome to the team flittle." he said. fluttle pressed the button with her forehead and let herself be caught.

luckily james managed to find a taxi that was still in service. he took it to the nearest town to the camp and began walking. he let flittle stay out of her pokeball with koffing to get to know her better. "you'll love the rest of my travelling companions. especially jessie and meowth. ive known them the longest and theyre my closest friends." james said. flittle, however, had stopped moving. "flittle?" james asked. "are you alright?" flittle got into a battle stance. "something is stalking us." she said. "then we should get ready to defend ourselves." james said.

a pokemon that looked similar to koraidn and miraidon jumped out of the bushes. "a cyclizar!" james said. "but it looks off." indeed the cyclizar didnt look normal. it was more blue then grey. it was also slightly bigger then a regular cyclizar. its tail had some kind of rudder underneath it, and its front legs had what appeared to be inflatable sacs like the one on its throat. the final difference was the similar antennae that miraidon had on its head.

luckily james had drax make him a pokedex. he scanned the cyclizar. "...no data" the pokedex said. "what? its not a cyclizar?" asked james. the pokemon rushed forward as two jets of water spurted from its back legs. "TO-RAIDON!" bellowed the pokemon. "flittle dodge it!" james shouted. flittle moved out of the way just barely avoiding the aqua jet. "it must be like koraidon and miraidon." james said. "in that case, flittle use disarming voice!" flittle launched a pink soundwave at the new pokemon. the pokemon was hit and weakened severly. "it must still be young." james said. "how fitting. im experienced." said flittle.

"confusion!" james shouted. flittle attacked the new pokemon with her mind. the pokemon was launched backwards and into a tree. "alright, go pokeball." james shouted. the pokeball hit the new pokemon on the head and sucked it inside. it shook for a moment before dinging. "yes!" james exclaimed.

james picked up the pokeball. "drax will need to see this." james said. he was brought out of his thoughts when a bright light ingulfed flittle. when the light disapated, standing in her place was espathra. "espathra you evolved!" james said hugging his teammate. espathra nuzzled him back. james jumped on her back and pointed in the direction of the camp. "come on! we've made a new discovery and i have a friend who needs to see it." espathra nodded and started charging in the direction james pointed. "i hope the others are having as much fun as we are." james said.

elesa hadnt ventured too far from the camp. she was looking for a specific electric type pokemon and knew it would be around here. a shinx. there werent any in unova but there were plenty around here. not to find the right one that she knows has the spunk she's looking for. she had her galvantula and zebstrika out to help her search.

surprisingly it didnt take long since a shinx jumped her galvantula once he got to close. galvantula rolled into a ball and back onto his legs. getting into a battle stance. "galvantula use electro web!" elesa shouted. she knew it wouldnt do much, but this shinx was fast.

the electroweb made contact with shinx. slowing it down enough so galvantula could keep pace with it. "use lion trap!" shouted elesa. galvantula dug underground. shinx began searching the area. watching for when the spider pokemon came back up. suddenly, shinx began to sink into the ground. it tried moving but was stuck. galvantula revealed itself, biting down on shinx and then throwing it out of the trap.

shinx got back up and glared at the spider. its body lit up with electricity as it charged at galvantula. "quad shock!" elesa shouted. galvantula's legs lit up with electricity as it also charged forward. shinx was taken off guard by the sudden burst of speed. back and forth galvantula shot past shinx. each time hitting it with one of its legs. while shinx was certainly strong for its size. this was still a more experienced pokemon that had moves unheard of by most trainers and pokemon.

elesa pulled a luxery ball from her bag. "go luxury ball!" she shouted, tossing the ball at shinx. shinx was sucked inside the ball. it struggled for a bit but the ball eventually dinged. signifying the capture. elesa picked up the ball. "welcome to the team, shinx." she said and rubbed galvantula's head. "well done." she congradulated and galvantula smiled... or at least thats what it looked like. it was hard to tell with spiders.

she headed back over to the camp and arrived at a strange sight. drax and james were already back. james was gesturing to a pokemon that looked very similar to koraidon and miraidon while drax had a hattenna on his head and was currently staring at an oddly colored croagunk.

"what's going on here, boys?" aaked elesa. "oh, james found another paradox pokemon related to cyclizar. also hattenna hatched and this guy just kinds showed up outa nowwhere." drax said pointing to hattenna and then the croagunk."

"poppa, is that momma?" asked the hattenna pointing one of her flap hands to elesa. catching both her and drax off guard. luckily drax broke out of his stunned silence first.

"no, thats not momma. that would be auntie elesa." drax said. "then where's momma, poppa?" asked hattenna. before drax could answer three of his pokeballs opened revealing azula, vermillion, and a pokemon elesa had never seen. "why, that would be me sweety." all three of them said at once. causing drax to give them an 'excuse me?' look and the three of them to suddenly glare at eachother. hattenna had different thoughts though. "yay! three momma!" she exclaimed. drax glared at his three female pokemon. "this is not the time for pranks you three. and vermillion i thought you were better then that?" he said. however the three pokemon had tuned him out and now bore thoughtful expressions. the three of them then went into a huddle. wispering about something.

the huddle broke up a moment later. "that's right sweety." said vermillion. "and being your mothers means that we must show affection to you." said azula. "and our husband." finished the unkown pokemon. now all three of them giving drax a lust filled look. "okay, dont push it." drax said rolling his eyes. however the looks in their eyes didnt leave. vermillion's vines reached out and carefully took hattenna off drax's head and placed her in elesa's arms. "spend some time with auntie elesa while we have a chat with daddy." vemillion said. "okay momma." said hattenna. "dont encourage her." drax said. he hadnt noticed azula behind him. going through his backpack. she paused when she found something that interested her however.

"oh, draxy." azula said. drax looked over to see azula holding two small marbles in her hand. "are these what i think they are?" she asked. "keystones." said drax, now trying to shake off vermillion who was on his arm again. "tell me draxy, have you ever thought of making a serum that permanantly unlocks the power of a mega evolution in a pokemon before?" asked azula.

"no." drax said. before becoming thoughtful. "but im going to now." he said after realizing that'd be a good idea. he then felt a weight on his other arm as he looked over to see spectraline with her face uncomfortably close to his. he moved his head bac a bit. "personal space, spectra." he said. "already giving me a cute nickname, dear?" asked spectraline. "you guys are taking this way tk seriously." drax said. spectraline moved her face closer to his. "this isnt a prank, drax." she said. but before she could make her move, a hand grabbed drax by the chin and he was forced to face vermillion again, who instantly locked lips with him. causing drax to stiffen. "hey, no fair." spectra said. "i was about to do that." vermillion broke the kiss. "ive known him longer and loved him first. i get to kiss him first." vermillion said. "fine." said spectraline. then took drax's cheek and made him face her. at this point drax was still partially stunned so he wasnt ready when he was kissed again. however this one was far more passionate. luckily he snapped out of his surprise and pushed both girls away. his face still red from the events that just transpired.

"well, discuss this later." drax said. "the lot of you are lucky that ash and serena werent present for that. they're too young to see something like that." the two pokemon giggled at his reaction. "in the meantime im going to get to work on that serum. it might be useful. "ill help." said vermillion. "i have some great ideas that you could do to make the serum work better." she winked at azula when she said ideas. the three of them had to help eachother now that they were all focused on showing drax how much they cared for him.

"why does my mouth taste like skittles?" drax suddenly asked. azula and vermillion looked over at spectraline who opened her mouth. a long multicolored tongue slipped out, hung there for a moment and then was pulled back in. "damn, girl." both ralts line evolutions said.

drax then turned to the croagunk. "yo, lazy." he said. one of the croagunk's eyes opened revealing black sclera with pure white eyes. "sup." said the croagunk. "there a reason you just decided to show up? you want anything or you just here because?" drax asked. "heh. i just like traveling. problem is im also lazy. not very fitting for a croagunk is it? though is suppose a croagunk looking like a walking fossil wouldnt really fit into much anyway right?" the croagunk said. "youre probably a delta species." drax said. "really?" said croagunk. "cuz to be honest, im femur quite froggy." croagunk said. drax blinked at that. "was that a pun?" he asked. "yep. and i got a ton of em. a skele-ton." the croagunk said as a bone appeared in his hand. drax snorted a bit. "well if you're into traveling, you're welcome to join us. we do a lot of that." drax said. he blinked shortly after his offer and the croagunk was gone. "if you're offerin, im in... a pokeball that is." croagunk said. he was now right next to drax, holding one of his pokeballs. he pressed the button with one of his fingers and allowed himself to be caught. "okay i know ive had some strange captures before but this one is really weird." drax said. he went to pick up the ball but it opened on its own and croagunk jumped into his backpack. "think ill rest my bones in here." croagunk said. "thats fine." drax said placing croagunks ball into a capsule and attatching it to his backpack. "now time to get to work." he said as he and vermillion got to work on the new serum.

ash and serena had gone off together to look for pokemon. serena had yet to catch one of her own and aah just wanted to add a new one to his team.

"so, serena, what kind of pokemon do you wanna catch?" asked ash. "oh, um. i havent really decided yet." serena responded. she was still red from being asked by ash to go with him. "is this a date?" serena wondered. neither one noticed a familiar punch happy fox following them.

"ugh, this girl is hopeless." frostbite said to herself. "just ask him already." she was starting to regret taking up the job of watching over ash and serena. especially since serena was doing a 'notice me senpai' shtick, and it was failing terribly. a gold ring appeared next to her and a fennikin hit her in the face. "ow! what the!" she said peeling the fire fox off her face. "hi." said the fennikin. "sup." said frostbite. she placed fennikin on her shoulder and continued watching the two kids. "whatcha doing?" asked fennikin. "babysitting." frostbite responded. fennikin looked over at the two young humans. "are those two mates?" she asked. "no but the blonde one wishes they were." frostbite said. "why arent they?" fennikin asked. "the black haired one is an idiot." frostbite deadpanned.

there was silence for a minute. then fennikin spoke up. "throw me at the boy." she said curling up into a ball. "you sure?" asked frostbite. "theyre perfectly lined up jut do it!" she said. "alright. here comes a missile fox!" frostbite said as she chucked finnekin at ash.

ash and serena had been searching for a bit now. then ash saw something. "hey is that a ralts?" he said as he walked over to the small pokemon. as soon as he moved aside. a yellow and red blur shot past his head and slammed into serena's face. knocking her down in the process.

frostbite facepalmed as as moved out of the way with perfect timing. "of course." she said.

ash knelt down in front of the ralts. "hi, im ash." he said. the ralts looked up at him. "this is new." a voice said in his head. "normally trainers just send pokemon out to battle me instead of introducing themselves." ash smiled. "and im guessing you beat them?" he asked. "obviously." the ralts replied. "cool! would you to join our team?" ash asked. "right to the point i see." said the ralts. "sure, why not. youre the first person to ask instead of try and force me so im down." ash jumped in the air in celebration. "you also seem like you need someone to babysit you." ralts said cheekily.

"a-ash." called serena. ash turned to see serena sitting on the ground with a yellow and orange fox pokemon on her head. she had a confused and slightly dazed look on her face. "hey cool serena you got a pokemon finally." ash said. "i did?" serena asked. then looked up to see the said pokemon. "fen." the pokemon said. "she said hi." pikachu translated. "hello fennekin." serena said. "would you like to be my first pokemon?" fennekin gave a shrug and a nod. not really wanting to leave this group since she had just been taken from her home and had no idea where she was.

"this day has been frickin weird." frostbite said as she followed serena and ash back to camp. she hoped for some nice rest when she got back.

so there are going to be other paradox versions of cyclizar that show up but they dont come from the time machine. an explanation will happen later. drax now has three female pokemon that are romantically interested in him and doesnt know how to deal with that quite yet. again this will not be covered very often. for those who have questions, you need to PM me. i cant respond to reviews. and for that one person that asked. ash might get an exosuit but not for a while. if any of you recognized who the new croagunk is based off. (which shouldnt be hard to figure out) feel free to make your guesses.
