"Can we talk? Alone?" Stefan asked giving Laura a pleading look.
"I don't think so bucko! After everything Stefan and this is what you do to Laura. You had you chance..." Steve began feeling angry as he was not going to let Laura get upset again.
"Steve its okay." Laura turned to her fiance she said calmy and began to rub her hands up and down on his arms. She watched him calm down as he looked into her eyes lovingly. "Go inside, trust me it won't take long I promise..." Laura then leaned into him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
Stefan flinched at the affection Laura was giving Steve. But knew he'd lost his chance he just wanted to make things right with Laura. It was the least he could do after screwing up. Steve kept staring at Stefan with a frown as he entered the house, grumbling. Laura chuckled with an eye roll but then quickly turned to Stefan with her arms crossed, lips tighten, and an eyebrow raised. Stefan swallowed hard and sighed. "You can come sit by me, I don't bite."
"You do cheat though... so no I will not sit by you, I'm good standing." Laura made sure her response was cold. He did not deserve her presence but she wanted to hear him out. "And just so you know I am hurt for what you did, very... Yes I chose Steve before I found out about your big cheating episode today but still I thought I knew you Stefan..." Laura then felt a few tears fall. She quickly wiped them away.
Stefan looked down feeling ashamed, he looked back up at her and stood up. "Please Laura sit down, I'll stand right here." As he jestered her to take a seat on the pouch swing.
Laura took a long breath, with her arms still crossed and sat down. She just happened to glance over and saw Steve peering through the livingroom window by the front door staring at Stefan with a mean mug on his face. Laura held back a smirk and mouth, "Go!" Steve frowned at her and mouth back "Fine..." with an eye roll. She watched her fiancé disappear and looked over back at Stefan.
Stefan noticed he finally had Laura's attention now she was looking at him. Still clearly upset. He put his hands in his pockets and leaned a little on the pourch. "Laura I know I have no excuse for what happened. But truly it was a first. It was the only time I cheated on you. I have no clue what I was thinking because I was confused. I just was having a fin party to keep things off my mind. Once the guy models left, they stayed. And they wanted to cheer me up since they are my friends. Before I knew it I was surrounded by their naked bodies and a sense of never having you that way took over and so I had sex with those women. And when I got caught, well the guilt finally hit and I was angery you caught me. Because I knew it was truly over and that anger should have never been toward you because that anger was towards myself."
Laura heard him bit now it was time to for him to hear her. "At least you finally not a jerk towards me but I am so disappointed in you for not waiting for my answer." Stefan crinkled his face at the d word but Laura continued. "Stefan I was doing the right thing by telling you I chose Steve. And you know what Steve did while he waited for an answer? Except for trying to avoid me and keeping himself busy between work and studying. He was trying to figure out a way to disappear between formulas and a machine. And finally decided to just move to Russia. He just wanted me to be happy and thought stepping aside would do that so I could live a glamorous lifestyle with you. You might come from Steve and be his clone but you've always been Stefan and he's always been Steve. You two are very different except looking a like and your feeling towards me and treating me like a queen. Well until recently. Stefan you are your own person and can make your own decision and well the one you recently just made ruined anything kind of relationship with me, even friendship. If I were you I would tell Steve you are thankful and grateful for your life and thats it. Go live your life and try to find happiness again. And if you find love again don't ruin it. Treasure her and treat her like a queen. That's the one thing I know Steve will always do for me. He's always made me feel special even when I wasn't looking his way or tried to have him distracted by Myra. The man even created you just to make me happy. He is a selfless man, well for the most part. And has been extremely patient even being very persistent at the same time. Stefan, those are just some reasons I picked Steve. I know with him, I will be able to finish my law degree and become a lawyer because that is my dream. You know if I chose you I would have been only happy for a little bit and then what? Would you let me go live the life I wanted?" She waited for an answer.
"No... I would want you with me all the time. I am a selfish man. I never even liked sharing you with Steve. You were supposed to be all mine..." Stefan answered annoyingly upset.
"See, I might be Steve's fiancée and going to be his wife but I don't belong to him and he knows that. I think our marriage would have failed." Laura responded truthfully. "Steve respects me and I resepct him. He believes in that I would make an extremely great lawyer while one day I think he os going to invent something that is going to change the world. We have always had each others back. And we are not afraid to call each other out. There are so much more things that I found annoying I now find challenging, fun, and endearing. Love does crazy things to a person and cheating on them is not one of them. Stefan I just hope you find what your looking for and be happy." With that Laura got up looked at Stefan one last time. Before he could say one more word, she opened the front door and did not look back him anymore. Her future was Steve.
Laura grinned ear to ear as she saw Steve pouting and grumbling on the sofa. She plopped down next to him. "Hey there sexy!" She made sure she sounded seductive. When he moved his arms down and looked at her confused Laura gave him a wink. "Why don't you come here and give me a taste of your delicious lips..."
Steve's eyes grew huge and nodded repeatedly, only stopped and closed his eyes once Laura's lips touched his.
