Part 1: The Night Fury Part 1

"Before we begin, this viewing takes place in the same time period as Daenerys and those from San Fransokyo." Gojira explained quickly. Many nodded to thank him for that explanation.

The Night Fury

Daenerys sat up intrigued while most of the Vikings and most of the Royal Families tensed at reading the name of the most lethal dragon known to Vikings.

Grimmel the Grisly and the other Dragon Hunters were also intrigued as well.

Caraxes, Vahgar and Moondancer glanced at Toothless. The Night Fury shrugged in response.

Meanwhile, Hiccup paled a little. Was this related to Toothless? Would this show his best friend to his village? He hopes not. Baela and Rheana see his expression and the former placed a hand on his shoulder as a sign of comfort. He nodded back and turned back to the screen.

Heavy breathing is heard as the screen lights to the perspective of the camera looking through a pair of binoculars and the holder looks across the street. City life is faintly heard in the background. In the window, the Audience see a young boy dressed in a red ninja costume with a shiny plastic katana sword. The boy swings the sword and enters a battle stance. The boy's father walks into view. He seems to challenge the boy to a fight. The boy playfully "kills" his opponent with two slashes and a stab when the man falls to the ground. The mother speaks offscreen and the boy walks out of view before the father rises to his feet and takes off his coat.

The person looking in the window turns their attention to the building's skylight above the family.

Jack and the Guardians chuckled in amusement at seeing the child playing with his father.

"What's with the getup?" Tuffnut asked intrigued and confused. While red wasn't his color, that outfit caught his attention as well with other Vikings, mainly the younger generations.

Before Gojira could explain, Hiro beat him to it. "I think it's Halloween." he said. At the confused expressions from the Vikings, he went on. "It's a very popular holiday. Kids and teens dress as fictional characters and creatures and go to house to house in their neighborhood and beyond and say, 'trick or treat' to the people at the door and the people give them candy and other treats kids would enjoy.'

"Though," Daenerys spoke up, furrowing her brow. "Some kids would use this a time to pull pranks on friends or strangers."

Gojira chuckled. "Thank you for the explanation, Hiro and Daenerys. Ten points to Pixar and HBO." he said, making Hiro and Daenerys to look at him in confusion.

"Sounds like a better name than Snoggletog," Hiccup muttered. Why the Vikings chose a stupid for their annual winter holiday remains to be a mystery.

The father, John Larson, is now alone and watching TV. ". . . dark and stormy Halloween," the female newscaster on the TV said as the news jingle played.

"Good evening and welcome to Berk City News at 8:00." The newscaster continued. "Our top story tonight, just-released polls have incumbent Mayor John Larson and 28-year-old grassroot challenger Bella Real in a dead heat."

The man next to her added on. "Things got hot in their final debate before next Tuesday's election." Footage of the aforementioned debate begins to play. The mayor is revealed to be the father in the house. His challenger is a young dark-skinned woman.

"Dad?!/John?!" Gustave Larson and his mother, Sofia exclaimed in surprise. The man himself was surprised to see himself.

"Now," Mayor Larson began, gesturing to Bella Real. "My young opponent wants to gut the Berk Renewal Program, established by the great Stoick Haddock." He says while the woman glances at him. "Cutting funds from vital projects like our sea wall and the safety net for those who use it."

"The Renewal Program is broken," Real declared, glaring at Larson. "The city's been renewing for twenty years, look where it's gotten us." She turns to the audience. "Crime has skyrocketed. Murder and drug use are at historic heights."

"Now, wait. Hold on." Mayor Larson tried to speak but Real continues, "We have a masked vigilante running the streets."

"Under my administration, Berk PD has dealt major blows to organized crime and drug trafficking's." Mayor Larson declared. "The Drago Bludvist case was the biggest drug bust in the city's history."

"But drops and other drugs are still rampant," Real retorted. "I'm not saying-" Larson tried to say but Real said, "It's gotten worse."

"I'm not saying there isn't work to be done." The mayor at his home hears his phone ringing to the side. He mutes the TV, and the Audience sees a man standing behind him in the shadows. He wears a large dark green winter jacket and gloves with matching boots. His face is covered with a leather winter mask with see through glasses on his green eyes.

Stoick and those that knew him were interested at the mention of him. Those from Berk were confused at the mention of a sea wall. At the statement of crime skyrocketing with murder and drug use at historic heights made Stoick and his council frown.

"If I didn't know any better," Savage spoke up to Alvin and other Outcasts. "I'd say this Berk sounds like our home in Outcast Island."

"Ha, too right you are." Alvin snorted.

Helen and Bob rose an eyebrow at the mention of a masked vigilante. Unknown to them, their children and those from San Fransokyo had the same expressions. Though Fred was muttering about how this sounds like one of his favorite comic book series.

Many were startled to see the masked man appear behind the male Larson on the screen. Most dragons hissed and snarled at the masked man. He made their instincts go on edge.

"Dad, behind you!" Gustave exclaimed in worry. "Son, I'm right here and fine." John said sternly making the young boy to flush in embarrassment while Snotlout and the Twins chuckled a little to try to ignore the creepy vibes the masked man gave out from the screen.

"Do you think that's the vigilante?" Fishlegs asked.

"I don't think so," Astrid said thoughtfully shaking her head.

Mayor Larson picks up his phone and answers, oblivious to the man behind him. "Yeah, I'm watching right now." He paces back and forth a little, the masked man watching his every move with a glare. "Why is she still tied?" he asked.

The caller's reply is unheard before Larson speaks again. "But I thought we were going to get a bump in the new Post poll." He's silent before he shakes his head. "Okay, you know what? I can't watch this anymore. Just call me in the morning, okay?"

He then hangs up and unmutes the TV. "-who still believes in everything this city can do." Real stated firmly. "We need a leader, not a cheerleader, Larson. And someone who will tell the people the truth." And Larson turned off the TV. He sighs and takes a sip of his drink.

The masked man suddenly lets out a yell as he charges the mayor from behind and tackles him down with a blow to the head. The masked man stumbles forward slightly before recovering and then he continued to rain blow after blow on Larson's head before he tossed the now blood-stained metal carpet tool to the floor away from him.

Panting, the masked murder stood up and walked over to pick up his murder weapon. He walks back to the mayor and sits on his back. Eerie music begins to play as he breathes in deeply before pulling out a roll of duct tape. He held it above his head and pulled a long piece before the screen went black with a thunderclap.

"Dad! /John!" the man's wife and son shouted in unison, worried and terrified of what happened to John onscreen, even if it was just a counterpart. Everyone else felt sorry for the man's fate.

"Dear Odin, that was brutal."

"Why didn't he turn around?"

"Who's the masked man?"

Fishlegs whimpered at the sight and the eerie foreboding music while Snotlout and the Twins stared at the screen with wide eyes. Astrid scowled, wishing there was something she could do. Helen and Bob felt the same way as did their two oldest children.

"Thursday, October 31st."

Some people jumped in surprise at the voice. "Relax," Gojira said to those from the Viking Era. "It's just a narrator, like of a story or play." The Vikings that could read or understand the concept nodded at the explanation.

Some furrowed their brows. Who was the narrator? He sounded familiar yet different at the same time.

". . . Wait. . . Is the narrator Hiccup?" Astrid asked after thinking it over.

Many looked over to Astrid at her statement. Hiccup blinked. Now that he thought about it, the narrator did indeed sound like his own. Just older and less nasal and more. . . brooding? Deeper?

"HAHA! That's funny, Astrid." Snotlout laughed after a moment. "As if Useless could ever be perfect for a narrator! I on the other hand, am."

Before Laena and Rheana could retort, Gojira growled to the Jorgenson boy who stopped smiling and looked fearful. The dragon took a deep breath and nodded to Astrid. "You are correct, Astrid." he said. "The narrator is, indeed, Hiccup Haddock. The reason he sounds different is because he is older than the one sitting next to the Velaryion sisters." his expression became thoughtful. "I would say. . . he's twenty-one."

A spotlight was shown slowly turning on. It stood on the floor of an unfinished construction site. On the middle of the light was a metal craving of a black dragon with its wings spread out.

Hiccup rose an eyebrow with Baela and Rheana. That looked like the first drawing of Toothless Hiccup had drawn in his sketchbook.

The City Plaza is shown. It was overcrowded with many people wearing costumes despite the heavy rain. "The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain." Hiccup continues narrating. A man dressed in a black coat walks through the crowd of masked people. "Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes."

"But I'm there too, watching." A close shot of his face is shown. The lower half is covered by a mask, only his emerald eyes are visible. "Two years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal."

"I must choose my targets carefully."

In another part of the city, the Audience see a small grocery store. One of the customers is man with a dark orange coat and a green ghost mask. Suspenseful music plays as the man looks out the window and watches the other customers leave the store. Once he's certain that he's alone with the clerk, he pulls out a gun. "Come on! Give me the money!" he demanded. The camera zooms in on the dark alley outside of the store across the street.

Many frowned at the sight of the crime happening on the screen, especially the Parrs and those from San Fransokyo. Though Fred was muttering about getting a vibe from one of his more dark and gritty comic books, as he says.

"It's a big city, I can't be everywhere."

Gang of criminals are seen vandalizing a bank. They spray paint the word, "BROKE" on each stone pillar in the front of the building before breaking a window and setting the building on fire.

"But they don't know where I am."

In a subway car, a gang of young men wearing skull makeup sit together, laughing at a video of one of them punching a jogger off his feet. Only the youngest man didn't find it funny. His face was painted halfway. He shifts uncomfortably in his seat along with the other passengers in the car. A middle-aged man walks closer to the door, unaware to him, the gang leader was eyeing him.

He leans in towards the younger member and whispers, "That's you." He nods his head to the man at the door and the younger man follows his gaze with a conflicted expression.

The screen focuses on the darkness of the empty car before it switches to a red lit room. The man that was seen walking through the crowd earlier applies black greasepaint on his face around his eyes. Then a black mask with eight ear flaps was shown.

"We have a signal. For when I'm needed."

The searchlight from earlier was shown in an old construction site. Next to it was Police Captain Thuggory Meathead. The Fury Signal shone brightly in the clouds as Captain Thuggory waited for his partner to arrive.

"But when that light hits the sky, it's not just a call. It's a warning. To them."

The change of Hiccup's tone and the shift in music sent of the Audience shivering.

Indeed, the music became eerie but less subtle than before. The masked robber runs out of the store and across the street. He looks up when a helicopter passed overhead, and he sees the Fury Signal. "Fear is a tool."

The man shakes in fear as he looks to the dark alleyway in front of him. He slowly backs away before a car suddenly almost ran him over. "Are you out of your mind?!" the driver exclaims angrily. "Watch where you're going, Drophead!"

'Drophead' ignores the shouts and runs away from the dark alley.

Back with the bank vandalizers, one of them had looked up and saw the Fury Signal. His eyes widened in fear as he backed up a little before his foot knocked away the spray paint can on the ground. He watches it roll away into the dark alleyway. Like the other criminal, he stares at alley in fear before he hears his gang bailing and he's too happy to oblige.

"They think I'm hiding in the shadows. But I AM the shadows."

"So, this vigilante has made the criminals scared of the shadows?" Hiro asked. Gojira nods his head.

"And Hiccup is the vigilante?" Baela asked with a raised eyebrow. Again, the Dragon Host nods his head. Huh, I don't know if I should be proud or concerned how brutal this Hiccup is, Rheana thought.

"Huh, got respect the lad for achieving that," Alvin said to Savage and some of his Outcasts. "Scaring all of them criminals like that to stay away from the shadows."

"I can't believe these people are scared of Hiccup," Snotlout whispered to the Twins and Fishlegs. Astrid could understand that. Hiccup wasn't exactly someone she found intimidating. "Uh, well, Gojira said that Hiccup is 21 years old." Fishlegs replied.

Violet and Dash looked to their parents. "Was there any superhero who operated like that?" she asked. Bob and Helen looked among themselves before the latter nods. "There were more than one like that, actually." she said. "Most would intimidate criminals with breaking bones of others or killing them." she said grimly.

Up on the dragons' level, Toothless chortled. "That's right, fear my brother."

Somewhere in the shadows, Pitch Black laughed to himself. The fear these criminals had for the vigilante was empowering.

The scene changes to a subway station where one of the passengers gets off, unaware that he was followed by the gang. When he turns around, he sees them standing behind him with malicious grins. He runs away as they chase after him, laughing like maniacs. Except the youngest one with half his face painted. The leader noticed him not moving. "What are you doing?" he asks.

The victim runs to a closed and locked gate. "HELP!" he cries out before the gang surrounds him. The leader has his arm around the young man who looks hesitating before he glances up and sees the Fury Signal in the sky. The leader then pushes him forward to the victim that was being held in place by the gang. "Now knock his ass out," the leader said.

At the young man's hesitation, the others try to encourage him.

"Do it."

"Knock his ass out."

"Do it, man. Come on."

"Knock his ass out."

Most of the Audience felt sympathetic to the young man and the victim. The Guardians weren't far off. Bunnymund was wanting to whack these thugs with his boomerangs. Viggo rolled his eyes at the barbaric behavior he was seeing.

Fishlegs shuffled uncomfortably. This scene reminded him of one of the last times Snotlout and Twins physically bullied Hiccup and they dragged him into it.

"The poor lad, being forced to do this," Alicent said with a sympathetic expression.

"Please, someone do something!" Rapunzel, Penny and Anna cried out. Their parents moved to comfort them.

"Don't worry, I know how this is going to go," Fred said eagerly. Gogo and Wasabi rolled their eyes.

Suddenly a loud noise catches their attention. They all turn towards the dark alley. Loud, metallic sounding footsteps echoed coming closer and closer. The leader pulls out a baseball bat while the victim was tossed to the ground. Out of the shadows stepped the Night Fury. He stood six feet tall, dressed head to toe in black armor that looked akin to dragon skin, with a utility belt and gauntlets. He had a dragon like mask and a cape shaped like wings.

"Demon!" Mildew cried out, pointing his staff at Hiccup. "He dresses like a demon and causes mayhem!"

"No, you idiotic geriatric bag of bones!" Gojira snapped, blasting the air three feet above the Viking elder with his blue fire. Mildew ducked down and some Vikings moved away from him so not to get caught by the flames should the Dragon Host aim to kill Mildew.

"That is cool," Tuffnut, Dash and Fred said in awe.

Okay, that is intimidating, Astrid thought seeing the Night Fury-Hiccup walk out of the shadows like so. She leaned forward, this was said to be a vigilante that fights the criminals. Let's see how he fairs. What tricks did this Hiccup have up his sleeve and what weapons did he use.

"That's a good look for you, Hic." Camicazi said with a smirk. Hiccup rolled his eyes in response.

The leader and his thugs began to laugh mockingly, thinking that this was a guy in a Halloween costume. "You see this guy?" the leader laughed. The only person who wasn't laughing was the young man with half his face painted. The leader walked to him with a swagger while one of the thugs pulled out his phone and began recording. "Who the Hell are you supposed to be?" he asked. When the masked vigilante didn't answer, he took to swing his bat at him. The vigilante blocked the bat, grabbed his wrist and began punching the leader in the face. The man cried out in pain after the fourth punch. The vigilante then twisted his arm and walked him back before he tripped. The vigilante leaned down and delivered two hammering blows to the guy's face.

"I'm Vengeance." the Night Fury said in answer to the leader thug's question.

"Wow, didn't expect that!" Jack exclaimed.

"Eh, he had it coming," Merida shrugged.

"HAHAHAHA! Go, Hiccup!" Camicazi and Thug cheered. "Show him what happens to a criminal!" Baela and Rheana cried. This reminded Stoick and Gobber that the masked vigilante is Hiccup. "That's my boy!" Stoick shouted. Valka felt relief seeing her son holding his own against the thug.

Hiccup rolled his eyes first fondly at his friends' words before feeling exasperated at his father's.

"Oh shit, it's him." One of the thugs said to the others as they backed up. This wasn't some random joe in a Halloween costume. This was the vigilante that has been fighting criminals for two years in Berk. The Night Fury rose up to his full height. One by one, the thugs gathered up their bravado and attacked the Dragon Vigilante. The Night Fury threw one to the side and blocked the punch of another. He grabbed the man's hood and wrapped it around the man's throat before elbowing him in the face.

Only the teenager didn't attack. He stood by, watching the fight before he sees the leader raising to his feet with a gun in hand. "Hey, man! No, no, no!" he cried but it was too late. The leader pulled the trigger.

"HAHA! Get them lad!"

"Pound them!"

"Break their bones!"

Camicazi leaned towards Hiccup. "Didn't think your tribe would be cheering for you like this."

"Believe me, it's been suffocating the past two weeks," Hiccup replied. This made Cami and Thuggory curious. From what they knew last time they met Hiccup; he had wanted his village to accept him. Did something happen that changed Hiccup's mind?

"Are they always like this?" Elsa asked from where she sat. "We're Vikings. Most of us would cheer on a good brawl or join in on it." Hiccup replied drily.

"Huh. Hey, Dad, you sure you're not a Viking?" Merida asked teasingly to her father who laughed.

"What is that, a weapon?" Stoick asked the Dragon Host, something he never thought he'd do in his life. Instead, Bob Parr answers. "It's a gun. A weapon of the modern age." The old superhero thinks over a comparison the Vikings would understand but he doesn't come up with one and turns to his wife.

Luckily, Helen knew what her husband wanted her to do. "It's like a crossbow that shoots the arrowheads without the shaft. Depending on where you are shot, it can be fatal."

This intrigues most of the Vikings, especially Dagur and Grimmel. But this also makes those that knew the Hooligan heir worried for his counterpart.

BANG!

The Night Fury recoils as the bullet bounces off his armored shoulder. (Bob: And that's called bulletproof armor.) The Leader tries to fire at him again, but the Night Fury ducks under him and grabbed him by the throat, activating the tasers in his gauntlets and electrocuting the man who screams in pain. The vigilante glares at him before he dropped the gang leader to the ground.

"Wow, did you see that?" Tuffnut asked his sister. "He had the power of lightning! Is he Thor?"

"Uh, the Night Fury is known as the offspring of lightning and death," Fishlegs said nervously.

"Which I think belongs to the Skrills since they have more lightning based powers," Gojira said. "But anyways, no. What he used are called tasers. Devices that channel electricity into people at the tips."

"Fascinating," Dagur said with a grin.

"Awesome!" the Thorston twins and Fred cheered.

He looks at the rest of the gang with a cold expression as most of them rise to their feet. They all stare at him before running away. The Night Fury's eyes then land on the young man with half his face painted. The man stares at him fearfully before he runs away in the opposite direction.

The dragon vigilant then looks down at the victim who cowers under his glare. "Please, don't hurt me." he begged. He doesn't respond and simply looks up to the sky and sees the signal of the Night Fury in the sky. In the dark shadows of his cowl, the Audience see his emerald eyes narrow.

The scene changes to show Thuggory walking through the halls of the Larson house. The Audience see the Night Fury walking behind Thuggory as he enters the room, before the vigilante could enter the room however, an officer held him back. "Hey, whoa. Police action." the officer said.

"Uh, he's with me, Officer." Thuggory said in a sheepish tone. "Are you serious, Thug?" he asked in disbelief.

"Martinez," Thuggory said sternly. Slowly, Martinez lowered his hand and let the Night Fury walk by. "God damn freak," he muttered, the officer next to him nodding in agreement.

Stoick and Gobber frown at the little interaction as did Daemon and Leana.

"Well, that was bound to happen," Gogo stated with a frown of her own as did Bob and Helen. "Most police officers don't like the idea of working with vigilantes."

"Ah, that makes sense," Hiccup remarked drily. This did make a few others frown though. Why treat someone who is trying to help like an outsider?

The Night Fury walked around the room. He glanced at the newspapers in picture frames on the wall. All of them covering the Mayor's feats, including the Bludvist Drug bust and they were all vandalized with the word, "LIES" spray painted in red over them. Turning to the Mayor's body, the Night Fury and the Audience saw that the man's whole head was covered in duct tape, save for the top of his head and the message, "No More Lies," written in red.
