Oi, this was rough to save. Wi-Fi was bad for saving what I wrote lately, but in the end, I managed to triumph!
Now I would like to say RIP to Carl Weathers. And I learned that my sister in-law lost two members of her family so I'm going to take a short break.

urdailyfanguyz-Sorry for taking so long to update.
DJ Rodriguez-I did say that it was going to be The Batman movie of 2022. And no, there are no OCs. At the moment, it is all HTTYD characters. Gustave, Drago (mentioned) are characters from the movies and TV series. Thuggory is from the books. Though I suppose, Gustave's parents are counted as OCs given that we are not given a name or face to them. I appreciate that you enjoy it so far.
Now, I initially wanted the last part to be longer, but the chapter wasn't saved but I decided to leave it as it was. So, with all said and done, without further ado, on with the story.

The Night Fury Part 2: "He lies still."
Many of the younger members of the Audience were disturbed to see the body displayed like so. Hiccup felt angry as well as did Astrid. This was different than the warriors who were killed in the Dragon raids. This was a human killed by another human. The adults were less disturbed, especially those who had seen battle and the dragons were angered. They knew that humans kill one another but not like what dragons do it for. They hoped the killer was caught by the end of this.
"What do we know?" Thuggory asked as he and the Night Fury entered the room. "Detective?" he asked when the man was staring at the dragon themed vigilante.
Now that the vigilante was standing in a lighten up room, the Audience, the Vikings that knew Hiccup could now see his counterpart. That was supposed to be Hiccup? But this man was taller! Sure, he was still skinny compared to a vast majority of the adult Vikings, but this Hiccup still had a muscular build.
"That's Hiccup?"
"I heard of growth spurts, but I didn't think they look like that!"
"-Still don't understand why he's dressed like a dragon."
"I'm sure it'd be explained."
"I wouldn't mind waking up with that body next to me," a single Viking woman said, many nodded in agreement.
Hiccup's friends tilted their heads to study his outfit. At first it looked intimidating and maybe a little cool, but now they were trying to see if they could wear something like in their timeline.
Hiro and his friends were intrigued by the Night Fury's utility belt and as well as gauntlets, Hiro and Fred interested to know what else the vigilante had and what they could be used for. For different reasons.
Bob chuckled as he now imagined his old friend, Edna, and her reaction to the Night Fury's suit. Probably be ranting about why the Night Fury should not be wearing a cape, he thought in amusement.
"Please," Snotlout scoffed. "He's nowhere as muscular as me!" He flexed his arms to prove his point. Astrid rolled her eyes and reached over to the Jorgenson boy and pinched the underside of his arm and Snotlout squealed in pain.
"Sorry, Lieutenant." The forensic detective cleared his throat, taking his eyes away from the Night Fury. "We got blunt force trauma." He held a flashlight behind the mayor's duct taped-covered head. "Lacerations on the head. He got hit a lot of times. And hard."
"All this blood is from his head?" Thuggory asked in shock.
"No." The detective shook his head and moved to the front of the corpse in the chair. "Excuse me." He paused in front of the Night Fury who stood still like a statue. "Most of it's from his hand." He pulls off a paper bag from the corpse's hand and the Audience see something that wasn't there before. "Thumb was severed. Killer may have taken it as a trophy."
"As if it wasn't disturbing enough to have the man's head wrapped in duct tape," Gogo muttered in disgust while Wasabi gagged and covered his mouth. Anna was one of the few who turned away from the scene, hugging her father. "Why would someone do that?" she asked.
King Agnarr narrowed his eyes at the screen. "Some people are twisted." he said to her softly while his wife offered some comfort to Elsa.
"Very twisted," Eugene said. He rarely saw anyone who would do something like that in his life as a bandit.
"He was alive when it was cut off." spoke the Night Fury. The two men look to him in confusion. "Ecchymosis. . . around the wound." the vigilante elaborated. The detective looked at the appendage, shocked that he himself didn't notice that detail.
"Oh, even more disturbing," Hiro remarked sarcastically. At Penny's feet, her pet cat and dog Bolt and Mittens gagged in disgust while Rhino was unaffected. To be fair, that's what happens when a hamster watches movies all day.
Astrid rose an eyebrow, a little impressed. How did Hiccup know about that just by looking at the wound?
The Night Fury walked away and gazed at a particular framed newspaper about the Bludvist drug bust that had a small bloodstain on it. "Security detail downstairs says the family was out trick-or-treating. " The detective said out of view as the Audience had a view of the Night Fury's boots. The vigilante was staring at something on the floor. "The mayor was up here alone. Killer may have come in through the skylight."
"You said there was a card?" Thuggory asked, getting an affirmative, "Yeah." The Night Fury walked out of view and a female forensic watched his retreating form before holding a camera and taking a picture of what the vigilante was looking at. A small bloodstain that seemed to form a flat and wide blade shaped object.
Bob and Helen narrowed their eyes at the bloodstain, remembering that the killer had thrown their weapon on the floor. On that very spot. It seemed to be a rookie mistake to leave evidence like that.
Thuggory pulled out the card. It had a purple-feathered and yellow-eyed owl sitting on a large pumpkin with a white skeleton under a yellow moon. A perfect card for Halloween. "'From your secret friend. Whoo?'" Thuggory read the front before opening the card. The right side had a message written in cursive. "'Haven't a clue? Let's play a game, just me and you.'" The left side had a message written bigger and in shaky writing. "'What does a liar do when he's dead?'"
"There's a cipher too." the detective added, and he handed a black page with small cipher symbols.
Thuggory glanced at the page before holding the envelope to the Night Fury. "Any of this mean anything to you?" he asked. The vigilante's head leaned back; eyes widened slightly at what else he saw on the envelope.
"I'd say that's a nice card," Daemon whispered to Leana, "But it's technically associated with murder, so." he shook his head and Leana nodded in agreement.
The Vikings didn't know heads or tails of the riddle. Vikings were big readers after all. Though, some were murmuring among themselves about the message and riddle. Gobber got a brief glimpse of the cipher sheet and recoiled. That looked more complicated than any of Gothi's scribbling.
"Secret friend?"
"Play a game? Does he think being a murder is a game?"
"Well, it sure as Hel ain't funny!"
"That's a nice bird!" That was Bucket.
Fishlegs was the only interested as Hiccup was writing the message and riddle on his notebook. He then noticed his friends, those from his time and those he had just met in the theater (Heather, Daenerys, Jack Frost.) were interested in what he was writing and held it out to them. Then Merida and the other people who had arrived first with Hiccup asked their parents to go to Hiccup and soon sat next to him again and asked what he thought of it all. He was surprised and touched at this development. Daemon and Leana smiled softly. Looks like he was going to be making more friends that weren't dragons.
Jack Frost felt the same as Hiccup. Not only was interacting with people for the first time, he was also making friends. This couldn't get any better.
Astrid wasn't sure what she felt upon seeing Hiccup with the outsiders. He looked so at ease and open up compared to when he was with any of the teens from Berk. Was she jealous that Hiccup was acting like so to people outside of their tribe or was it something else? Who knows.
The Police Commissioner Peter Savage walked into the room. "What's going on here?" he demanded with a glare to the Night Fury.
"I asked him to come, Pete." Thug said, stepping forward between the vigilante and the Commissioner.
"It's a crime scene! It's John, for Christ's sake!" The Commissioner exclaimed angrily as he walks towards Thuggory. "I got the press downstairs."
"You know, I cut you a lot of slack, Thug, 'case we got history." Peter said before he gestures to the Night Fury. "But this is way over the line." Thuggory held up the card and both the Commissioner and the Audience see what was written on the envelope. The address. 'To the Night Fury.'
This caught many of the Audience off guard. Only those from San Fransokyo, the Parrs, and Penny and Wilbur understood. The two former was because they were superheroes themselves and knew it firsthand while Penny was an actress and had read comics in her youth as did Wilbur. It was a bad guy calling the good guy out for a challenge.
The villains themselves weren't all that interested save for Pitch Black and Syndrome.
Peter's eyes widened as he looks up to Thuggory. ". . . Wait, he's involved in this?" he asked.
"No, he's not involved." Thuggory said defensively. "How do you know? He's a God damn vigilante! He could be a suspect." The Commissioner accused. If the accusation bothered the Night Fury, he didn't show it.
Hiccup himself wasn't all that bothered by the accusations onscreen. It was too much like those from Mildew or other Vikings when he was framed by Snotlout and the Twins or Mildew was just being unpleasant and spiteful. He saw that his friends were irked by the accusations, so he waved his hands dismissively with a small smirk. He wasn't bothered so it wasn't a big deal.
He didn't see that Stoick was irked by the accusations and unbeknownst to any of them, Valka and Toothless were irked by the commissioner's accusations of Hiccup's counterpart onscreen.
"What are you doing to me? We used to be partners." Peter stated.
"I'm just trying to find the connection, Pete." replied Thug.
Suddenly the Night Fury spoke up. "He lies still." he said monotonously.
Both police men turned to look at him in confusion. "Excuse me?" Commissioner Savage asked, brow furrowing. The vigilante went silent and then Thuggory understood. He held up the card. "The riddle. What does a liar do when he's dead? He lies still."
"Well, duh!" Snotlout exclaimed. "That's what all dead people do, Useless."
Hiccup rolled his eyes at his cousin while missing his (current and new) friends' reaction to the nickname. "That's not the point, Snotlout." he said to him. "I think the riddle means that the lies told by the liar will continue to exist."
Daenerys caught on what he was getting at. "Because he himself won't tell the truth." she said.
Snotlout frowned a little. That sounded smarter than he thought it would be. Stoick, Daemon and Leana felt proud and impressed for Hiccup's deduction.
Peter looked away and gazed at the corpse of the mayor. "Oh, Jesus." he said mournfully before he gives an icy glare to the Night Fury. "This must be your favorite night of the year, huh, pal? Happy fucking Halloween." he stated.
"Excuse me, Commissioner." said another officer who stood in the doorway. "They're ready for your statement." He gestured to the hallway.
The Commissioner stood still for a moment before he walks up to Thuggory again. "I want him out of here." He points to the Night Fury. "Now!" With that said, he storms out of the room.
Thuggory stood still before approaching the vigilante. "Come on." He said softly. The Fury was still before he took a few steps to the door. Only to pause at the flash of cameras. Looking down, he saw a couple of forensics measuring a small, bloodstained footprint on the floor. He stared at it in confusion and Thuggory saw where he was staring at. "Yeah. The Kid found him." he said, unknowingly causing the Night Fury's eyes to widen ever so slightly in surprise.
Many of the people of Berk felt sympathetic for the mentioned boy. With the exception of Mildew, but no one really bothered to ask his opinion.
(Play The Batman's soundtrack, "Something In The Way" by Nirvanna)
The mentioned boy, Gustave was shown sitting on his bed with his mask off, his overfilled basket of candy ignored. "Was there anyone in the house when you arrived?" A detective woman asked him softly, but the boy seemed to ignore her and continue to stare at the floor after shaking his head. Slowly, he felt another pair of eyes on him. Looking up, he saw the Night Fury standing in his doorway. Understanding was in the vigilante's eyes as he stared at the young boy. The Night Fury stared with a trace of sadness and as if he was seeing someone else in Gustave's place.
Out of every member of the younger Audiences, Hiro understood the boy the most when it came to losing a family member due to Tadashi's death happening recently.
A handful of Vikings (Stoick, Gobber, Daemon, Leana, the Velaryian sisters, Camicazi and Thuggory) were a bit intrigued on the little exchange between Hiccup and Gustave's counterparts. The vigilante onscreen looked as if he was looking at someone else.
Thuggory approached the vigilante. "We really got to go, man." he whispered urgently.
"Tonight, a son lost a father." Commissioner Savage stated as he, Thuggory, Officer Martinez and the mayor's wife stood before a crowd of news reporters. "A wife lost a husband. And I lost a friend. Mayor Larson was a fighter for the city, and I will not rest until his killer is found." The Audience's view slowly paned to a dark alleyway across from the crowd. Hiccup stared at the scene before he placed on a biker helmet. "This was a truly senseless crime, and we are actively pursuing every investigative lead we have in order to identify the perpetrator and hunt him down. I've spoken to the governor. . ." The Commissioner went on before his voice was tuned out.
"I wish I could say I'm making a difference, but I don't know." Hiccup's voice narrated as he stared at the scene before he was shown driving through the now empty streets of Berk City as the sun rose. "Murder, robberies, assault. Two years and they're all up. And now this." The Audience see some billboards promoting the woman running for mayor and large screens broadcasting the news reports covering the Commissioner's statements.
"This city is eating itself." Hiccup went on as he drives his motorcycle on a few bridges. "Maybe it's beyond saving. But I have to try. Push myself." The screen zooms out and the Audience see a large tower with the letter 'H' on it.
Many of the Audience from the Viking age were looking at the scenery in awe. Who could blame them? This was supposed to be their village, Berk, 12 days past Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing To Death Berk, in the far future long after they are gone. None of the buildings looked new, so no more dragons and the city were larger than the village looked to be.
Stoick however focused on how Hiccup's counterpart was driving alone. He thought of two things. One, driving the motorcycle at that speed looked to be unsafe in his view. (Thank the gods Hiccup won't be able to do that, he thought. Unaware that his son has been riding a Night Fury recently for months.) And Hiccup looked lonely. The streets weren't crowded anymore as the sun rose. Compared to the crime scene he just left, Hiccup's counterpart seemed to have one friend and ally in this world. Well at least his version of Hiccup had tons of friends now.
Oh, if only he knew.
"Why does Hiccup have a tower with his initial on it?" Snotlout asked, both curious and jealous over the fact. "The Haddocks are one of the oldest and richest families in this world." Gojira replied. "They own one of the largest companies in the world. Hiccup is now CEO of Haddock Enterprises."
Fishlegs rose a hand. "What's a CEO?" he asked.
Honey Lemon answered. "A CEO is a chief executive officer, or the senior manager or leader of a business or other organization, such as a nonprofit or nongovernmental organization." she explained.
"So, Hiccup is one of those kinds of superheroes," Fred said and started waving his hands in exaggerated karate moves. "Crime fighting vigilante at night and rich CEO by day."
"How does that work?" Elsa asked curiously. "Like wouldn't people figure it out?"
"You would think that," Fred replied. "But most heroes like that put up a facade for their secret identity. Act like a completely different person and make sure there's no trace that connects them to their superhero persona."
"What about battle wounds?" Astrid asked. Fred waved his hand. "Most of them can find excuses that people find passable. Like just saying they're injured from a sports event like skiing."
Hiccup drives his motorcycle down a flight of stairs to an abandoned subway station. He drives it off the platform and down a dark tunnel, its engine sound echoing off in the tunnel. He enters a large tunnel with large lights, a black muscle car under a tarp, a desk with a computer and other equipment. Up above, the ceiling is bustling with swarms of bats. Hiccup parked his bike and took off his helmet, his back to the Audience. "These nights all roll together in a rush behind the mask." Narrator Hiccup spoke as the young man pulls out a small memory disk and inserted it a part of his computer. He pulls a contact lens off his right eye and places it on a glowing ball. "Sometimes in the morning, I have to force myself to remember everything that happened." It was then that the Audience saw on the computer screen that the contact lenses was also a camera lenses, recording all that the Night Fury sees in his nightly escapades.
Hiro and his friends, Bob and his family were the ones most interested upon seeing the cave. But then their interests rose upon seeing the contact lens actually being a camera lens.
"Huh, that explains why he wasn't blinking much in the crime scene," Violet said.
The Vikings didn't really understand the technology shown but based on the reaction from those from the future, it was impressive by their standards.
"I bet I could stare without blinking longer than he can!" Tuffnut exclaimed. Ruffnut almost shoved him off his seat. "I can stare longer than you without blinking!" The twins then butted heads and stared at one another.
Snotlout chuckled in amusement while Astrid, the Velaryian sisters and Fishlegs sighed in exasperation. They were going to be like that for a while. But at least they weren't going to cause anything much.
Hiccup stared at the screen, fast-forwarding the footage before he heard the TV next to the elevator. "Unbelievable breaking news this hour, everyone." the male newscaster spoke first. "Again, four-term incumbent Berk Mayor John Larson Jr. was found murdered last night inside his own home in the exclusive Raven Point District."
Hiccup turned to the TV slightly, he reached to a nob on the computer and muted the footage of his camera/contact lenses and seemingly muting the song playing in the background. "Exact details of the crime still have not been released, but a citywide manhunt is already underway as police and FBI search for the brazen killer." The female newscaster, Phlegma spoke next. "And this certainly is not the first time Berk has been robbed by the murder of a political figure." The small footage between her and her partner enlarged until it took the whole TV screen, showing a footage of Stoick Haddock with his wife Valka and an eight-year-old Hiccup. The three were smiling to people out of view and Stoick shakes hands with someone. "In fact, in an eerie coincidence, it was 20 years ago this week that celebrated billionaire philanthropist Dr. Stoick Haddock and his wife Valka were slain during Haddock's own mayoral campaign. It was a shocking crime that remains unsolved to this day." Phlegma stated.
A vast majority people of Berk were surprised at what was shown and said about the counterparts of their chief and his wife. No more were shocked as Stoick, Hiccup, Spitelout, Snotlout and Gobber.
"Was it really unsolved?" Hiccup asked quietly in shock.
The Host nodded his head reluctantly. "In this universe, sadly it is." he said solemnly. "I am so sorry."
Hiccup just nodded before smiling sadly. "Well, at least I know what my birth mother looks like," he said. This made those around him look at him sympathetically while Leana walked over to him and hugged him tightly. Daenerys' dragons crawled onto his lap and rubbed against his torso, trying to offer comfort. Baela and Rheana glanced at one another. The reason why Hiccup's counterpart seemed to relate with the boy earlier was made clear.
Twenty years ago, Stoick and Valka were killed in this world. Twenty years ago, as shown in that old footage, Hiccup was eight years old. Like Gustave, he lost his parent(s) at a young age.
Stoick didn't see this; he was too shocked seeing the image of his wife again.
Valka wanted to go down and comfort Hiccup as did Toothless but they both knew it would cause problems than anything. A Titanwing Skrill covered in battle scars walked over to the Night Fury's side. "Is everything alright, young Night Fury?" he asked in concern. Toothless stared down at Hiccup was being hugged by Leana and her daughters before walking away from the edge and crooned, "It's fine, old Stormbreaker."
"John Larson Jr's political career was especially notable for his tough war on drugs when he and city police launched a major sting operation, resulting in the arrest of notorious mafia crime figure Drago Bludvist with, to this day, remains the biggest drug bust in BCPD history." the male newscaster went on, the TV now showing footage of the now late mayor and a brief glimpse of Drago Bludvist as he was escorted by police in handcuffs.
Hiccup heard the elevator opening up and he turns back to the computer as Gobber Pennyworth walked into the cave. He wore dark pants, a white dress shirt and a dark blue vest. He also stood tall and still had blonde hair and a small beard on his face. "I assume you heard about this." he stated, gesturing to the TV. Hiccup nodded slightly, not taking his eyes off the computer for long. "Yeah." he replied softly.
"What's my role 'ere?" Gobber asked after seeing his counterpart and got over the fact that he had all four of his limbs.
"Gobber Pennyworth is the Haddock's family butler and bodyguard," Gojira replied. "He's also Hiccup's guardian."
Hiccup smiled sadly. While his teaching methods were questionable, especially in Dragon Training, Hiccup did consider Gobber family so at least his counterpart wasn't alone.
Intrigued, Gobber walked up to the young Haddock's side. "Oh, I see." he said in understanding as he saw that Hiccup had fast-forward to the part where he was at the crime scene.
"All this blood is from his head?" Thuggory's voice was heard. Gobber stared at the image of the mayor's body with wide eyes. "Dear God." he muttered.
Then the butler saw the image of the card's address while Hiccup froze another screen of the card's contents along with the cipher. He took out a pencil and quickly written the answer to the riddle. "The killer left this for the Night Fury?" Gobber asked. Hiccup turned to look at him slightly. "Apparently." he replied.
"You're becoming quite a celebrity." Gobber remarked before asking in a serious tone. "Why is he writing to you?"
Hiccup turned to face him fully. "I don't know yet." he admitted and that didn't sit well with him. Usually, the Haddock had some lead in the case for him to solve, but not this time.
The blonde butler nodded in response, surprised at the answer but understanding that this was a different case. "Have a shower." He pats Hiccup on the shoulder and walks away. "Our accounting friends at Haddock Enterprises are coming for breakfast."
Confusion fills Hiccup's face as he turns to face him. "Here? Why?" he asked.
"Because I couldn't get you to go there!" Gobber turned around to face him with an expression of anger and frustration.
Understanding takes Hiccup's face and his expression turned to annoyance and anger. "I don't have time for this." He turned back to the computer and the print outs of the card and cipher.
"It's getting serious, Hiccup." Gobber said. The boy was now of age to be CEO of the family company. "If this continues, it won't be long before you've nothing left." Surely, he had to understand the need to make another public image besides the dragon themed vigilante persona.
Apparently not. "I don't care about that." Hiccup said adamantly. The lad was the son of the most stubborn people Gobber had ever met outside of his days in the military. "Any of that."
Many were surprised at seeing Hiccup and Gobber butting heads like so over what sounded like an old argument.
"I thought you said that he was CEO by day," Stoick said to Fred.
"Well, he has been doing this for two years," Fred replied. "He's probably still learning how things work and doesn't know that it's important just as the superhero persona."
"That's. . . not that far off," The Host said, surprised and impressed. But then again, his father was Stan Lee, creator of comics and a secret superhero, and he was a fanatic of comic books.
"You don't care about your family's legacy?" Gobber asked, hoping to get Hiccup to reconsider.
Again, son of the most stubborn people Gobber had ever met. "What I'm doing is my family's legacy." Hiccup stated. "If I can't change things here, if I can't have an effect then I don't care what happens to me." he added.
Gobber sighed heavily. "That's what I'm afraid of." He may have been supporting Hiccup in his vigilantism thus far, but he was always worried the lad may descend into madness or be too focused on the mission and not on life outside of the Cave. Hiccup turned to glare at the butler angrily. "Gobber, stop. You're not my father." he said.
If this hurt the butler, he didn't show it other than another heavy sigh. "I'm well aware." he said to his ward. Regret flashed in Hiccup's emerald eyes before vanishing. He stood up from his desk and wordlessly walked to the elevator. Once he was out of view, an expression of hurt took Gobber's face as he closed his eyes. Then he opened them upon hearing Thuggory's voice as he spoke about the kid finding someone. He walked up to the computer and saw the footage of Gustave's numb and grief-stricken expression. Gobber lowered his head sadly, closing his eyes as if reminded of something else.
Both Hiccup and Gobber recoiled at the end of the exchange. Hiccup grimaced and turned to the two-limbed blacksmith. "I am so sorry, Gobber."
Gobber quickly recovered. "Oh, don't worry, Toothpick. I know it wasn't you. Besides, I know you wouldn't say that and mean it." he said cheerfully.
He opened his eyes and looked at the cipher and the riddle with an intrigued expression.
Hiccup was shown walking. His bare and broad shoulders to the Audience before he pulled a black T-shirt over his head. He walked down some stairs and both he and the Audience saw that Gobber was at the table, wearing glasses and holding a pen in hand with the cipher and riddle on the table. Gobber glanced to Hiccup at his approach and gestured to the tray cart that had a small bowl with blueberries. "Some fresh berries there." he said idly.
Many single Viking woman ogled at Hiccup's muscular bareback. Astrid was one of the few that blushed, but she tried to focus on the bruises and scars on his shoulders. Well, if he has been doing this for two years, there was going to be some criminals that will manage to get lucky and land hits on Hiccup's counterpart. Besides, that armor couldn't stop everything. Maybe a little morbid but it was the truth.
As he ate a handful of berries, Hiccup squinted at the sunlight from the window before looking to the butler. "What are you doing?"
"Just reminiscing my days in the Circus." Gobber replied, not taking his eyes off the cipher. He smacks his lips a little. "This is actually quite elusive." He admitted.
"Gobber was in the circus?" Snotlout asked, this made many people snort. Mainly Hiccup, Stoick, Spitelout and Daemon and his wife. Gobber glared at them playfully while finding the idea amusing.
"No, it's a nickname for those who served in the British Special Forces," Gojira replied with a chuckle of amusement.
"So, he was taught about the ciphers?" Fishlegs asked.
"Most modern armies have developed ways to write secret messages to hide information from enemies," Wasabi explained.
This interested many of the Viking leaders and the kings. They made notes to find a way to do the same. Snotlout was surprised by the information. He always thought that warriors just needed to learn to fight with their chosen weapons and their fists. To hear that warriors in the future learn to do more than that was baffling to the Jorgenson boy.
Unaware to the others, Hiccup shared a small grin with Camicazi and Thug. Hiccup made a system just like that with the other heirs, (Dagur included when he got wind of it the last time they all met) and messaged each other every month. Although, Hiccup didn't have time to do that recently. But he planned to change that.
"Where did you get those O's?" Hiccup asked, pointing his finger to the letters written above some of the symbols.
"'He lies still' is only a partial key." Gobber stated, pointing to the answer of the riddle. "It only gives us H,E,L,I,S and T." He explained, moving his pen across the symbols. "So, I'm looking for any double symbols to start, trying letters, see where it leads."
Hiccup placed a pair of sunglasses on as he looked at Gobber's work. "That's interesting." he murmured.
"Mr. Pennyworth?" called an elderly maid to the butler.
Gobber looked up and turned to face her. "Yes, Dory?" he asked politely.
"The accounts are here." Dory replied dutifully. Gobber nodded. "See them in, please?" he said. As he got up to leave and the maid walked down the stairs behind her, Hiccup looked at the cipher and riddle with a thoughtful expression. Hmm, I wonder, he thought.
Hiccup asked. "What if it's not a partial key?" The scene changed to show both Hiccup and Gobber back in the cave under Haddock Tower. "What do you mean?" Gobber asked in response. "What if this is the whole key?" Hiccup elaborated.
"Ignore the symbols we don't have letters for." He ordered, an idea forming in his head. "Use only the letters from 'He Lies Still' and leave the rest-"
"Blank." Gobber finished with a nod. "Yeah, I understand. But that would leave most of the cipher unsolved. I don't see how that's gonna. . . Oh." he protests as he types on the keyboard before he paused. The symbols with no letters were disappearing on the screen and the remaining few spelled out one large word on the page.
'DRIVE.'
This impressed many of the Audience at how fast Hiccup solved the cipher and how the answer was revealed. Gobber was thinking about a certain map with riddles no one has been able to solve in nearly a hundred years and wondered if Hiccup could solve them.
Hiccup and Gobber glanced at one another. The former with surprise the other with a thoughtful glare. Already, Hiccup was forming an idea of what drive meant.
The scene changed to show a large garage door opening and the Audience's view is focused on the reflection of Thuggory and the Night Fury standing at the elevator. The lights turned on to reveal a small collection of expensive cars. "Damn. Yeah, he's got a car." Thuggory remarked drily. "Guess it's good to be the mayor." The two began to walk in the garage. "Where to even start?" Thug muttered.
Many from the modern age whistled, impressed at the cars. Gogo was the most impressed. Out of everyone from San Fransokyo, she was interested in cars the most.
"You sure this isn't a leap?" Thug asked the Fury after a short moment of walking. "'Drive' could mean anything." He did bring up a point, drive could apply to anything besides a vehicle.
"You don't trust me?" the dragon themed vigilante asked, eyebrow raised under his mask.
"You mean like how you trust me?" Thug retorted, side eying his partner in some perspective. "It's been two years now and I don't even know who you are, man."
"He doesn't really know him?" Lucerys asked. Two years sounded like it was long enough to trust Thuggory completely.
"Oh, it's important for superheroes to keep their identities from everyone," Violet explained. "Keeps their friends and allies safe from any potential enemies." Her parents nodded and Hiro and his friends all nodded subtlety.
The Fury abruptly stopped before one car. "There." he stated as he walked towards it and pulls out a pair of scissors out of the left front wheel and air began to hiss out. Holding it up, Thug and the Audience saw that one blade was stained with dried blood.
The dragon themed vigilante held up a flashlight, shining black light at the front of the car inside. Thug leaned in from the passenger side of the car. "What are we looking for?" he asked. "A USB port." the Fury replied.
"USB?" Thug repeated. The vigilante pressed a button that made the middle arm rest. Looking inside, he recoiled and looked up to the police lieutenant blankly. "What?" Thug asked.
A USB drive was seen being pulled out of the port before the Night Fury held it up, revealing the severed thumb of John Larson dangling on a chain attached to the USB drive on a silver ring. "Thumb drive." he remarked drily on the sick play on words. Thuggory's expression was one of disgust. "Jesus." he muttered.
Thug's disgust was shared by mostly everyone else, except the villains, humans and dragons alike all gagged or made sounds of disgust.
". . . Well, at least they found the thumb."
"Why in the nine realms would someone do that?"
"I've dragons rip men's limbs off, but that's disturbing."
"I think I'm going to be sick."
"Is that some sort of sick joke?" Merida asked in disgust.
"I think so," Penny said. When some gave her confused looks, she gestured to the flash drive and tried to not look at the severed thumb dangling below it. "That's a USB drive also know as a flash or thumb drive." she explained. "Its main purpose is to store data and information. Photos, videos and documents and such."
Thug pulled out his personal laptop and plugged the drive into it. He moved open its app and contents but apparently, "It's encrypted." he sighed. It could take a long time form them find out the encryption. His alley held up the severed thumb. "Try this." he suggested. Thug glanced between the digit and the vigilante before sighing heavily.
He pressed on the drive and part of it slid back to reveal a fingerprint scan. He glanced up, eyes rolling. "Oh, this guy is hilarious." he murmured before grabbing the thumb and pressing its print on the scan. It worked. He opened its contents and it saw multiple photos of the mayor with a young woman with dark blonde hair. In one photo, they were exiting the man's car and in the other, they were walking out of a building another man and woman visible on the side.
"That's funny," Dagur and a few villains laughed or chuckled. The severed thumb had another purpose. Who knew?
When the photos were shown, Mr. Larson's wife shouted, "JOHNATHAN LARSON!"
Many of the Audience winced. Oh boy.
"Well, well, well." Thug leaned forward. "So much for family values." he remarked, jabbing at one of the values the mayor claimed to support yet here in the photos, he wasn't practicing what he preached.
"Who is she?" the Night Fury asked, narrowing his eyes.
"That's what I want to know!" Sophie Larson exclaimed to her husband. Many Vikings next to them, including their son, scooted away from them.
"That's not me-me, Sophie!" John said defensively. "Besides, you should know that you're the only woman for me." he assured. She slowly lost her glare but stared at the screen with crossed arms.
"No idea." Thug replied honestly, other than the fact the woman was not the mayor's wife, younger than him and that she most likely what the Vikings knew as a barmaid. He narrowed his eyes at the man next to them. It was a man he and every veteran cop knew by now. Savage Cobblepot. "But that's the Penguin, Alvin Falcone's right-hand man."
"Savage," Stoick glared at the man in the photos on the screen.
Said man was smug at being on the screen and important from the looks of it.
The kids from the modern age and Jack Frost began to snicker and laugh, getting the attention of the others next to them. "Is-is he really named the Penguin?" the Winter Spirit asked with a smirk.
"What's a penguin?" Elsa asked.
"A flightless bird that lives at or near the southern most continent," Hiro snickered with Penny. Sandy used his powers to project images all known penguins and this caused every to chuckle or laugh. Savage stared at the image with a dropped jaw. Why in all of Midgard was he letting himself be called that?
"I know who he is." replied the Fury. He was a vigilante with a mission to fight crime. It would be a mistake for him to not know about the big fish in the underworld of Berk City. Suddenly a whooshing sound was heard from the computer. "What was that?" Thug asked to himself before he sees the notifications on the side of the screen. All were saying the same thing, 'Email sent."
"Shit, shit!" Thug exclaimed as he understood what was happening. "The drive, it sent all the photos from my account." he explained as he opened up his email and saw where the photos were sent to. All of them were news blogs and websites. Popular at that too.
"I'm guessing that's bad?" Princess Helena asked with a wince. Most of the people from the future and the rulers nodded.
"Very," King Viserys nodded grimly. "The mayor has been said to be an honorable man of the city. Those photos are going to destroy his reputation."
"Berk Post, Gazette, BC-1, all of them." Thug listed off before sighing heavily. "I'm going to catch Hell for this. Pete's going to bust a gasket."
"He lies still." the Night Fury recalled, eyes narrowing more at the woman in the photos with the mayor. "About her?" he asked.
"Maybe." Thug admitted. He looked to the building they were exiting. It was also one that both men recognized. "That's the Iceberg Lounge, it's where Alvin Falcone is holed up in the Shoreline Lofts. Never get in there without a warrant." he explained.
"Yeah." the vigilante concurred. You may not, he thought to himself. But I might.
The Iceberg Lounge was in view as a taxicab drove past it and the subway drives on a monorail above. The right boot of the Night Fury stepped in view in the rain towards the rain. The Night Fury walked up to the front door and knocked. Shortly after, the Audience saw from the point of view of the man who opened the door. "You know who I am?" the vigilante asked in a passive tone.
The man was none other than Tuffnut Thorston. "Yeah, I got an idea." the blonde man replied drily.
Upon hearing his voice, Tuffnut turned to the screen. "Yes! HAHA! I'm on screen!" he pumps his fist in excitement before pausing and turned back to his sister who was giving him a shit-eating grin. He gasped as horrid realization settled in his stomach. He lost the staring contest. He fell to his knees and screamed to the heavens, "NNNOOOO!"
The twins' father looked to the sky in exasperation as everyone felt annoyed and slightly amused by their antics. The Host was impressed. That staring contest was well over three minutes. Not bad for humans.
"I want to see the Penguin." the Fury demanded. "I don't know what you're talking about pal." Tuffnut replied before closing the door. The vigilante stood still before the door opened up again, this time Tuffnut was accompanied with Ruffnut.
Tuffnut quickly forgot about his defeat as he and Ruffnut were smug about being onscreen. Snotlout was jealous of that fact and crossed his arms with a frown.
"What's the problem?" Ruffnut asked gruffly. "He says he wants to see the Penguin." Tuffnut says to his sister.
"There's no Penguin here." Ruffnut said. Tuffnut nodded. "I tried to tell him that."
"You better get out of here, Freak." Ruffnut glared at the dragon themed vigilante as she stepped forward. "Or that suit's going to be filled with blood."
The Night Fury narrowed his eyes at her threatening tone. "Mine or yours?" he asked challengingly. The Twins moved to use force but the male was knocked off his feet with a punch to the face while the female received three punches to the face and was knocked off her face. The vigilante walked in, stepping over their bodies. He promptly ignored a drunk woman accusing him of assault and quickened his pace as he heard the twins' shouting orders to others to "Get him!"
The Twins stared in shock while Snotlout laughed mockingly. Being knocked off their feet by Useless? That's just pathetic.
The Velaryian sisters, Cami, Thug, Daemon and Leana were laughing loudly with Gobber. Hiccup was a bit conflicted for a moment. On one hand, the Thorston Twins had bullied him with Snotlout, pranked him, framed him for their pranks and on top of that, tried to be friendly with him as if none of that had ever happened. On the other, the Twins on screen never done anything to him personally and were just doing their jobs as guards. But then again, they were working for a known criminal so in the end, Hiccup settled with laughing with his friends.
The vigilante walked into the main dance room before his shoulder was grabbed by a thug. He turned around and punched the man twice before spinning around and throwing him into another. He lifted his left foot up and kicked them both downstairs. A third thug wrapped his arms around the vigilante's arms before throwing into a punch of another. The Fury leaned back to dodge another punch before grabbing the man and slamming his face against the handrail and then throwing him over the handrail. He then jumped down onto the stairs. He caught the baseball bat of a thug and forced the man to hit himself with the bat and hit another thug. As he held it up to swing at another thug, Gruffnut Thorston walked down the stairs, holding a gun aimed at the dragon themed vigilante. "Drop the bat, or I'll blow your head off!" he threatened. The Night Fury stared at him before throwing the bat at the blonde man's face. As he fell on his back, the vigilante felt bullets bounce off his back. Turning around, he saw the Thorston twins aiming a shotgun and pistol at him.
Many of the Vikings were getting hyped at seeing the vigilante fighting again. Finally, some actions, most of them thought. Again, they are Vikings.
"Get him, Lad!"
"Wow, he's throwing over the rail!"
"Ooh, I hope they didn't land on anyone. . ."
"Eh, they're criminals anyways."
"Those lights are too bright! I can't see the fight!"
"It's hurting me eyes!"
"Those lights are pretty." Again, that was Bucket.
"I'm more impressed he's walking in with that much confidence," Elsa commented. With her powers she couldn't picture herself with that much confidence and walk inside a building run by criminals. Though she could picture lots of ice and snow.
"Hey, it's our cousin!" Tuffnut cheered while Ruffnut frowned. Gruffnut wasn't exactly her favorite relative. Then they both stared in shock when Night Fury threw the bat while many winced at seeing the baseball bat hit the man in the face.
The Fury thrusted his hand out and a grappling hook folded out of his gauntlet before he fired it off at the Twins. The grappling hook went through Ruffnut's pants leg and harpooned Tuffnut's leg causing him to fall down in pain. Ruffnut stared in shock before she was abruptly pulled off her feet by the grappling line. (Ruffnut: Oh, come on!)
The dragon themed vigilante heard the footsteps of someone approaching him from behind. He turned around, grappling hook raised. Only for the man to hold up his hands in a pacifying manner. "Woah, woah, woah!" it was the Penguin, Savage Cobblepot. "Take it easy, sweetheart!" he said.
"I hear your looking for me." he said and glanced up at the Thorston's direction. "I see you met the Twins."
He smiled, revealing a gold tooth. "I'm Savage." he introduced and looked the vigilante up and down. "Boy, you're everything they say, ain't ya? I guess we both are."
Did I mention that people are still dancing, unaware to what was happening above and below them on the staircase?
"Seriously? They're all still dancing?" Prince Aemond exclaimed incredulously. He had been silent for the most part until now.
"Places like this always have music playing very, very loud," Gogo explained. "The people most likely didn't hear the fighting."
"Yeah, besides, you can't stop the music!" Fred shouted before he started dancing.
"Who is she?" The Night Fury demanded. Both men were now in a private room away from the dancers and other patrons.
"I don't really know, Chief." Savage shrugged. "I might have been coming out the same time. But I wasn't rolling with them." he said, placing the photos on the small table before him as he sat on a sofa. Footsteps were heard and the Night Fury turned to the hallway leading to the room. Black, shiny leather high heel boots were the first things he saw. Looking up, he saw that it was Camicazi Bog. Her blonde hair was not a wild mane like the one in the Audience. She wore a white tank top shirt and a black skirt that stopped above her knees around her swaying hips. She carried a tray of ice cream sundaes and a yellow envelope in her left hand. She paused and looked at the Night Fury, blue eyes widening in surprise. Both vigilante and barmaid stared at each other while music played in the background.
Hiccup narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Savage onscreen. Something told him that the so-called Penguin knew more than he let on. Then he leaned back in surprise upon recognizing the woman onscreen. Wow. . . was all he could think.
The woman's scandalous outfit (In the eyes of the Vikings) caught the eyes of many men and while some men looked away in respect, others stared at her onscreen with lustful expressions. Smacks were heard throughout the Viking side of the theater and some helmets were knocked off their owner's heads. The cause of this were the women sitting by the men with lustful gazes. This was because of the ogling or the woman whacking the men happened to be their wife.
"Well, I don't like that I have short hair," Camicazi stated but smirked, "but I got to say that I look good." Her mother frowned, not because of her daughter's outfit, but because seeing her in the bar just meant she was in Berk with its men ruled society and also the fact her daughter was working in the bar.
Hiccup was one of the few who blushed at seeing the older Camicazi onscreen. The two heirs (Three if you want to include Thuggory) were close friends, but lately Camicazi had flirted with him last they saw each other and Hiccup, the boy going through puberty didn't know what to do with that so seeing his girl (space) friend as a beautiful young woman was catching him off guard and throwing him for a loop.
"Well," stated Gobber, one of the few men not affected by Camicazi's counterpart (For an obvious reason.), he looked to Hiccup with a teasing glint in his eye. "I'd say she's taking after her mother."
"Gobber!" Both Hiccup and Bertha exclaimed, one blushing and the other glaring. Gobber recoiled, apparently, he forgot that Bertha was in the theater with them. He quickly recovered though, speaking in a teasing tone still. "What? I just said she looks just like you, Bertha. What did you think I mean?" he directed the question to Hiccup more than the Bog Burglar chiefess.
Hiccup sputtered while Bertha glared at the two limbed blacksmith. She knew that her daughter cared about the Viking runt and had a hunch that there could be something more between them, she was glaring more for the remark about her daughter's figure from the older man. Baela and Rheana snickered at their friend's reaction. While the sisters weren't the type to tease their friend over anything, Hiccup rarely had anything to tease about (Other than his 'fishbone' physique and dragon nerd nature, but they weren't going to be like Snotlout or the Twins.) so they were going make note of this.
Besides, they knew there might be something going between Hiccup and Camicazi and who really knows what will happen in the time of this movie theater.
Astrid frowned with envy at the woman's rather bodacious bust onscreen and crossed her arms. She was more than happy with her figure; it helped her fight and everything. But in Berk women with larger breasts were usually with. . . larger figures, so seeing the woman onscreen with those sizable breasts on such a lithe figure were considered unfair in her opinion.
"Shame you're a barmaid," Thuggory said to her. Before the Bog Burglar heiress could reply, Hiccup shook his head. "I don't think so. Given that my counterpart is a vigilante, I'm having a hunch there's more to Cami's counterpart than meets the eye." he said.
Gojira nodded from where he sat. "You would be correct." he said to the young Viking and secret Dragon Rider. "Just wait a bit longer and it will be revealed."
Savage looked between them and smirked teasingly thinking that the vigilante was just stricken by the woman's figure and the woman was intimidated by the vigilante. Sounded like it made sense. "It's okay, sweetie." he said reassuringly to Camicazi, holding a hand out towards her in a reassuring manner. "Mr. Vengeance, here, he don't bite." Camicazi glanced between the two men, chewing gum and looking up and down at the Fury before walking past the vigilante who slowly turned around, his eyes following her.
Camicazi held her tray to Savage who grabbed the envelope. "Thanks, honey." the Penguin said as he peeked in the envelope and saw that it was filled lots of cash. He reached to the side of his sofa and pulled out to small bags of what looked like gumdrop candy, but the Fury knew what they really were. Drug laced gummies nicknamed Drops. They were used by Drago Bludvist and his drug trafficking empire.
Camicazi placed the sundaes on the table before she saw the photos next to them. She stiffened and glanced up to the vigilante who seems to be staring at her again. She straightened up and walked out of the room, hips swaying but the Night Fury's eyes didn't wander as he slowly turned back to the Penguin.
"Well, at least he's a gentleman," Queen Elinor praised.
"He doesn't get distracted," Gogo nodded her head.
"Looks like there's something going on though," Baela said with a teasing smirk. "Especially since they had stared at one another for a bit longer than needed." Rheana added.
Hiccup sputtered in response while Cami just snickered and ran a hand through her man of blonde hair.
Savage stood up and held the photos to the vigilante. "Here you go, Champ." he said. The Fury didn't take them. He held a firm glare at Savage. "I want to know who she is and what she has to do with this murder."
Savage blinked. "Whose murder?" he asked.
"The mayor's," replied the Fury. Savage blinked and looked at the photos in mock confusion. "Is that the mayor? Oh shit, it is. Look at that." he remarked before he was grabbed by the shoulders and the Fury slammed him against the glass window.
"Don't make me hurt you," the Night Fury growled like a dragon.
Savage glared angrily. "You better watch it," he warned. "You know my reputation?"
"Yeah, I do. Do you know mine?" replied the Fury with a matching glare. "Look, I'm just the proprietor, okay?" Savage said after calming himself down. "I mean, what people do here, it got nothing to do with me." The Fury glared in a skeptic expression. His eyes glanced to the side, and he saw the reflection of Camicazi looking at them outside of the glass room. He let go of the Penguin and only saw a glimpse of Camicazi's blonde hair as she walked away from the hanging clothes for the barmaids.
"Hey, whoever she is," Savage spoke again. "She's one hot chick." The vigilante glanced down at the photo of the mayor and the woman exiting the Lounge and noticed the other woman at the side of the photo. Her face wasn't shown, but she wore the same boots as Camicazi. "You should ask Larson's wife. Maybe she knows."
The Fury looked up and stared at the Penguin blankly who shrugged. "What? Too soon?" he smirked, showing his gold tooth again. The Fury glanced back at the photo with narrowed eyes before walking out of the room. "Let me know if there's anything else you need," Savage called after him.
Many frowned when Savage was mocking the late mayor before jolting in surprise when Night Fury slammed him against the wall. Stoick glared at the man when he tried to threaten the counterpart of his son before being surprised when Hiccup didn't seem bothered.
When the Audience had a second look at the photo, they saw that it was indeed Camicazi, same boots and hair.
"Are you seriously going to suspect little Ol' me?" Camicazi asked playfully, batting her eyes innocently. Hiccup and Thug were not tricked by her act.
"I mean, your counterpart seemed to recognize the woman in the photos," Hiccup shrugged in a matching tone with a smirk.
At a later time, Camicazi was shown walking out of the Iceberg Lounge. She held up a hand. "Taxi! Taxi!" she called before a taxicab drove up to her and she got in the backseat. The cab drove by a parked motorcycle whose headlight turned on. It was the Night Fury in his biker form as he followed the cab closely.
Inside the cab, Camicazi was on her phone and speaking to someone who wasn't heard clearly. But whoever it was, it was a woman in distress. "I just got off of work." she heard the woman reply and she spoke to calm her down. "Baby, calm down. What is it? Look it doesn't matter, I'm almost home. Just wait for me and we'll leave. If we're going to leave early, we'll leave tonight."
The screen blurred her out and focused on the biker following her cab.
The screen went dark again before it lit up in the view of someone looking through a pair of binoculars.
Many went on edge, thinking that the killer was on the prowl. Otto Hightower though, shook his head. "It's not the killer," he stated. When he was given confused stares, he explained, "We would have been hearing the man's breathing but we're not."
As much as he didn't want to, Daemon agreed with the man. He had a point. But that left a question. Who was spying on the apartment?
The onlooker stared into the window of Camicazi's apartment as the blonde woman entered and was greeted by a young woman with dark brown hair and smeared makeup around her eyes. It was the woman in the photos with the mayor. Said photo was shown on the TV. The young woman was clearly distressed to have her face shown on television with the mayor. Camicazi offered her a glass of water and asked what else was bothering her but the woman refused to say anything from the looks of it.
The peeping tom was revealed to be Hiccup in his drifter/biker form as he watched Camicazi's movements as she walked out of the kitchen and to dress room/closet. She pulled her hair off, revealing it to be a wig. (Camicazi: Seriously?!. . . Actually, that's not a bad look.) She then reached down to take off her thigh high boots, careful to not kick any of the cats that gathered at her feet. Hiccup didn't bat an eye as Camicazi pulled her skirt down her slender legs before pulling on a black, skintight skinsuit. She then put on a black mask whose top was shaped like cat ears and black high heel shoes before she climbed out the window and down the fire escape, unaware that she had an audience in the form of Hiccup. She backflipped off the ladder and landed gracefully on the sidewalk before walking out of view.
"So Other me does know the woman," Cami stated when she saw the two interact. "I take it we're close friends?" she asked the Host who nodded his head.
Now, a majority of the Audience felt uncomfortable at the scene of the woman changing being shown. Though, a few men were still gazing with lustful expressions. "That's my daughter, you dogs!" Bertha shouted at those men and the women next to them (Wife or not) whacked them hard enough to knock them out.
Hiccup slumped down and pulled one of the dragonet's wings over his face. Cami, after making sure her mother wasn't looking, leaned over to him and whispered, "Like what you see~, Hic?" The only response she got was the dragonet, Viserion, chirping in confusion.
Astrid felt disturbed instead of angry upon seeing a man looking on a woman changing. Sure, Hiccup was related to Snotlout, but he would never act like this. That wasn't what disturbed her. It was that his counterpart had no emotion. No lust or arousal in his eyes.
A garage door opened to reveal Camicazi on a motorcycle of her own. She drove out of her garage and past Hiccup who was on his own motorcycle and quickly followed after her.
The scene changed to show Catwoman lowering herself into the living room of the mayor's house through the skylight. She touched the ground, quiet as a cat on the prowl, before she moved across the living and placed her hands against the frame of one of many pictures on the wall. She then pressed a hidden button and the picture slid down to reveal a gray safe. She placed the bundle she had on her back to the floor and unraveled it to reveal tools, perfect for cracking safes. She drilled a hole into its lock and then attached a tool with a telescope for her to look into as she turned the combination lock. It didn't take long for her to wait before the safe door opened up. She smirked a little and reached into to the safe and grabbed what she came for.
Though they knew it was morally wrong, many were impressed at Catwoman's safe cracking skills.
"Yeah, I had a feeling you'd be a skilled thief," Hiccup said with a chuckle shared with Thug. Cami just smiled and ran her hand through her hair.
"So, you're a real thief in our world?" Rapunzel asked, making sure to make sure she doesn't steal from her.
"Yep, the most skilled pickpocket in the Archipelago," Hiccup said dramatically. "Oi, don't flatter me, Fishbone," Cami said with a smirk. Hiccup just smirked back before turning to the others. "One time, she stole my father's underpants," He began to chuckle and laugh. "While he was still wearing them!"
"Hiccup!" Stoick tried to scold, if it weren't for his blush of embarrassment. Gobber and Spitelout coughed (laughed) into their fists while Daemon and Leana chuckled, and their daughters snickered.
Merida was about to say that she wasn't impressed, that her brothers have done that but now she chuckled. "Okay, that's good." she said.
"And he didn't even know it was here!" Hiccup said. "He even said to Gobber for hours," he then deepens his voice to sound like Stoick. "I swear to Odin, Gobber! I had them on when I left the house! I had them on until lunch and suddenly they're gone!" This made all the teens around him to chuckle or laugh with Hiccup.
"You're pretty good at that."
Many jolted in surprise upon hearing that.
Catwoman jolted and turned around to see Night Fury lowering down to the floor and folding up his grappling hook. She rose to her full height, which wasn't much considering the dragon vigilante was still towering over her, before throwing three kicks which were easily blocked and parried by Night Fury as he stepped back three times. The cat thief stared at him with traces of shock trying to kick his feet out from under him twice, but he stepped back out of range before her feet could hit. She tried knew that the vigilante was fighting criminals for two years, but she didn't expect him to be able to react to her skills that easily. She figured most thugs he fought wouldn't be trained as she was.
She knows karate, Night Fury thought, impressed as he ducked under a kick aimed for his head. But only karate. He swung his cape at her face as he ran past her. She shuffled the cape off her as she turned around and glared at the vigilante who glared back. The two held eye contact as the cat themed thief rose to her feet, her hands on the chair appearing to be ready to throw the chair at her opponent if needed. She broke eye contact, her blue eyes glancing to the right, the vigilante's left, before faking going to the right before quickly running around the Fury, the vigilante quickly turned around and gave chase. Catwoman planted her feet on a desk and pounced on the Dragon like a cat, but her plan to throw him off his feet with her weight backfired when Night Fury spun around before she could and then her back was slammed against the table and her hands were pinned at the side of her head.
Many were giving the fight their undivided attention. Camicazi was honestly impressed. Both that her counterpart was a fighter and that Hiccup's counterpart was able to counter her. "Hey, Hic, want to spar sometime in the future?"
Hiccup thought for a moment before nodding his head. With him planning to leave Berk, maybe visiting his friend would be the next plan.
Unaware to him, Stoick, Daemon, Leana, Gobber and Valka were a bit proud at seeing his counterpart hold his ground against the cat thief.
Astrid was also impressed and wondered if there was a chance she could spar with any of them.
She struggled, growling quietly like a cat as the Dragon leaned over her and stared down at her impassively. Eventually, she stopped struggling and blew air at his face in frustration. Green and blue eyes stared at one another before the vigilante looked at what was in the thief's hand. A small book. He let go of her wrist and pulled the book out of her grip.
Catwoman's eyes widened in surprise before narrowing in anger. She stood up, "Hey! Give me that!" she hissed, reaching for the book as the vigilante opened it up. "Give me that!" Then the Fury grabbed her wrist without taking his eyes off the book.
It was a passport, Night Fury saw, for the younger woman back at the apartment. "Konsolov, Annika." he read out loud. A Russian immigrant. He glanced up to the cat themed thief who froze when he spoke. "He hurt her? Is that why you killed him?" he asked with narrowed eyes.
Catwoman was taken aback. "What? Just give me that." She reached for the passport again before he wrapped his arms around her, pulling against his chest and then he moved them against the wall. Wow there, Dragon boy, I ain't that kind of girl, she thought before her mouth was covered. She struggled, trying to pull the hand off her mouth before she heard the Fury whisper in her ear, "Shh."
She briefly got the wrong idea why he was doing this, struggling in his grip more before she heard the sound of footsteps coming from the other living room and instantly stilled.
The Audience see a police officer behind the hiding duo, holding a flashlight and looking around. After a moment, he heard nothing nor saw anything suspicious and walked out of the room.
Many of the Audience found themselves tensing when the police officer walked into view. As far as they saw, no one but Thuggory respected Night Fury and were worried about the officer's reaction. Some dragons were impressed.
"How did he hear the man approaching before the Cat-Woman?" asked Meatlug asked as did Fishlegs.
Gojira chuckled. "Well, Night Furies have better than a cat," he remarked. This made Toothless puff his chest out in pride.
Those from the modern age had a better understanding of what that implied. "You mean he has microphones in his mask?" Hiro asked. "And they pick up sounds the normal human wouldn't?"
"And records them for notes," The Host explained while looking away thoughtfully. At least that's what he thought. Was he wrong? Maybe or maybe not.
After a moment of silence, Night Fury released Catwoman who moved to lean against the table, dropping her head in frustration. This is not how she expected her night to go. "Look, pal." she looked back up to the taller vigilante. "You got the wrong idea. I didn't kill anybody. I'm here for my friend. She wants to leave town, but this son of a bitch stole her passport." she explained, spitting in anger at the end.
"What does she know?" Night Fury asked, deciding to give the thief a small benefit of doubt. She was fighting without the intent to kill him not too long ago, unlike most thugs. "Whatever it is, it's got so spooked, she won't even tell me." Catwoman replied.
The vigilante nodded, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully. "She did seem upset." he nonchalantly told the thief that he saw the woman back in her apartment. "Back at your place." He added when Catwoman froze and held out the passport to her like a peace offering. "Let's go talk to her. Together." he said, leaving no room for an argument.
Hiccup narrowed his eyes again and written down that the mayor stole the passport for Annika Konsolov.
"What's a passport?" Elsa asked.
"A future custom for all countries," Penny explained. "They're essentially permission slips, so to speak, that tell officials that you have permission to be in a foreign country." The first-born Princess of Arendelle nodded in understanding and turned back to the screen.
Jack snorted. "Just casually say that you followed her home and spied on her." he chuckled while Hiccup rolled his eyes playfully.
Catwoman stared at him before sighing and grabbing the passport from him.
The two were on their motorcycles, racing through the streets side by side. Then the scene changed show Camicazi arriving at her apartment first with her mask off. She sees that the door was slightly open. Looking inside, she sees that her apartment looked as if a hurricane had come in. Blue eyes widening, she walks into the kitchen and called out as Night Fury entered the doorway. "Anni!" She walks to her room and then her friend's, "Baby? Anni?" she called out again, worry laced in her words.
"Oh no!" Rapunzel and others gasped.
"People broke in!"
"They didn't just break in, they trashed the place!"
"Was that even necessary?"
"Well, that was rude," Bucket pouted.
"Isn't that excessive?" Astrid asked. The woman's face was shown on TV and that's it.
"That could just trace back to whatever she knows," Bob said with narrowed eyes. "And whatever it is, they want to insure she doesn't tell anyone."
Hiccup once again written down that Annika may know something that results in getting captured.
The Guardians, Bertha, Atali, Minden and Camicazi frowned upon hearing that and hoped nothing befell on the woman.
Night Fury glanced around, his eyes briefly focusing on the cats that came out of hiding. He reaches one of the mail envelopes on the counter and read the words, "Eviction Notice." Cami walked back in, worry and concern written on her face. "What are they going to do to her? She's just a kid." Then she sighs as she looks at the counter and noticed something that didn't help her mood at all. "Shit, they took my phone."
"Eviction notice?" Most people read in confusion.
"Another custom for the future," Wilbur said. "It's a order to leave your house and find another place to live when you're behind on the bills."
"Bills?" Astrid frowned.
"Uh, money you have to pay to officials like the landlord and such," Honey Lemon tried to explain in a way the Vikings could understand. "I could explain that more when we take a break."
Just then, the newscasters spoke of another murder happened, in almost as many nights. The victim was the Police Commissioner who was reported missing at a fitness center for the Berk City Police. "This time the killer has taken credit online and we have to warn you, the footage is very disturbing." Phlegma said, shaking her head at the camera with a sympathetic expression.
Familiar heavy breathing was heard as the video started with the killer's winter coat that now had a white question mark painted on the left breast before the camera panned upwards to show the killer's masked face. "Hello people of Berk, this is the Riddler speaking." The Riddler greeted in a distorted voice. "On Halloween night, I killed your mayor because he is not what he pretended to be." He declared proudly. "But I'm not done."
Many shifted uncomfortably and understandably disturbed by the name's voice.
Bob, however narrowed his eyes. That voice, distortion aside, sounded familiar.
A certain villain seemed to recognize the voice and grinned.
"The Riddler?"
"Seriously? Of all names, he picked that?"
"Must have something to do with the fact he left a riddle."
"But why? Sounds ridiculous."
"Not wrong."
Hiccup wrote the name in his notebook.
The camera then panned to the right and showed the still alive Police Commissioner Peter Savage. The man was whimpering as a glass maze encaged his upper body. "Here's another~" The Riddler said in a sing-song voice as the camera showed that rats were in the cage. "Who'll soon be losing face." The camera zoomed on the man's face, and it was clear that his mouth was covered in duct tape with the same message as before. 'NO MORE LIES.' And there was rat feed next to the Commissioner's face. "I will kill again and again until our day of judgment, when the truth of our city will FINALLY be unmasked."
The Riddler then held the camera up at an angle that showed his face next to the Commissioner's. His mask shifted as he smiled under it. "Goodbye~!" He said cheerfully before the video ended and Phlegma went on saying that Peter Savage was on duty for twenty-years and part of the Bludvist case.
"Good gods of Asgard!" Many of the Vikings exclaimed.
"Well, that's disturbing," Gogo remarked.
"That is like some Saw level disturbing." Fred said in agreement and many of his friends, Penny and Wilbur nodded with Violet and Dash. They knew what he was talking about and thought the same.
Hiccup drew a line connecting Peter Savage and John Larson to the message of "No More Lies" and hummed in thought. His friends looked at what he wrote and quietly spoke. It looked as if the victims had some sort of connection.
"Holy shit, I've seen that guy too." Camicazi spoke up, pointing to the screen. "At the club." she added.
Night Fury turned to her; eyebrow raised. "The Iceberg Lounge?" he asked. Like the mayor? Maybe there was a connection, he thought. Camicazi shook her head. "44 Below." she corrected.
"What?" the Fury asked, turning to face her. When she didn't reply, he stated, "Camicazi."
Cami rolled her eyes. "Downstairs." she said as she turned to the fridge and pulled out a milk. "The club within the club. It's a mob hangout." She explained as she poured a bowl for a cat on the counter and a glass for herself.
"You work there?" Night Fury asked. "No, I just work the bar upstairs." Cami shook her head and answered honestly. "But I see him come in."
"Who else?" The dragon themed vigilante asked. If the mayor and the police commissioner go to this club, there must be someone else. "A lot of guys that shouldn't be there, I can tell you that. Your basic upstanding citizens type." Cami shrugged nonchalantly.
The Audience grew interested as Hiccup formed a connection between the victims. They might go to the same club, a secret one at that, for criminals. Hiccup written that down.
Night Fury stared at her thoughtfully before coming to a decision. "You're going to help me on this." he stated then added, "For your friend." Camicazi stared at him before nodding. Annika needs her help.
Hiccup smirked and looked to Camicazi. "Hey, Cami, mind helping me on this case?" he asked.
"Let me think, will it be dangerous?" Camicazi responded.
"Highly likely." Hiccup smirked.
"Exciting?" she asked with a matching smirk.
"Thrilling," Hiccup remarked.
"Count me in then," she declared. Thug leaned in. "Hey, don't fort that I'm helping too," he stated. The three had large grins as they fist bumped.
Baela and Rheana smirked and pretended to wipe tears. Their brother still had friends.
Stoick and Astrid frowned. Hiccup never interacted like that with them.
Well that was fun. What do you think?
Now, question.
Should I include the deleted scene in on this? I've watched it again and can't help but think if I should include it in this.
Next update is unknown.
Leave long reviews and tell me what you think.
Until then take care.
