[1st Pov] Chapter 1 [A Dancing Monkey]
When I opened my eyes, there was nothing but darkness, it was a pitch-black nothingness. That is weird, right? Like that is not normal, there is supposed to be something, I don't know what that something is supposed to be but still, it's weird. I thought when you open your eyes, you're supposed to see something, right? And this place is cramped, I can barely move my arms in this place.
"What in the hell is this place? The walls are cold, I can't see anything, and I feel like my body is being crushed. Do they know who I am? I'm the... I'm the great... Wait a minute, who am I again?" after realizing I don't remember anything, I start to think about everything. Where am I, did I die, is this the afterlife, and most importantly Who was I?
After thinking about everything, I came to a conclusion: 'I have no answer to any of those questions, and who really cares? I mean, having no memories is actually pretty cool, it is so mysterious, and who needs their memories, not me I'm too cool to need them"After saying all of that, nothing happens. My body is cramped, like it's been stuffed into a box, and the darkness is still... dark. "What am I supposed to do? I'm even more confused than before, I feel like I'm a dancing monkey, on a stage while people watch me do something stupid." That would hurt my pride a lot, like imagine everyone else knows how to unlock a puzzle but you don't even know that is a puzzle, while people watch you, and they would laugh at you.
"Ah, who cares about that? I'm too great for all of it anyway. Who cares about my memories or the reason I'm cramped in this place? Not me. Okay, I'm the great and handsome…, Umm thing:" I clean my throat "And I don't need to think because I'm great, and powerful"A surge of pride coursed through my veins as I started moving my body in the cramped space. The movement was akin to dancing.
CRACK! I jolt my eye at the sound, The quickness of how fastly I jolted my eyes, was nauseating to my brain. On one of the walls, there was a crack. This crack was like an egg, an egg!?
"WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE, AM I IN AN EGG RIGHT NOW?!" The shock and absurdity of the situation were clouding my thoughts, and most importantly, the exit of this place. "Really, an egg! Not a box, or something more normal but a GODDANM EGG!" after a few minutes of deep breaths, and a lot of screaming later. I take another look at the crack again and realize it. "I can finally leave this place!" I excitedly thought to myself, I just need to move around a lot.
I started moving again, making more cracks in the walls. Every time I heard the cracking sound, my body moved faster. Each crack brought me closer to freedom. "Almost there..." I stuck out my tongue in concentration, then I did it. The cracks were too much for the shell, and it collapsed into smaller pieces. A bright flash of light filled the space.
The rays of sunlight blinded me, so I raised my hand to block the sun from my eyes. Once my vision adjusted, I realized I was standing on top of a mountain, surrounded by a dense forest. Then, I quickly glanced at my arm—it was covered in fur. As my eyes got used to the sunlight, I lowered my arm. "FINALLY!" I raised my arms in victory, and then I took a deep breath of the fresh air. "Do you smell that? That's the smell of victory!"I started to cheer and dance, jumping around with no care in the world. But then a weird thought popped into my head.
"Wait a minute, why is my arm covered in fur?"I stopped dancing and took a closer look at my arms. Both were covered and not just them—my entire body was. I was naked, alone, on top of a mountain. Wait, why did I think having fur on my body was weird? Didn't I have it before?
"Who cares I'm free now and that is the only thing important right," I said with a dismissive tone, I moved my head down to my feet, my feet were akin to my hands, they both had thumbs and longer palm areas. In the corner of my eyes with something moving, I moved my head to see what it was. "Do I have a tail?" Yup, that's a tail, on my behind.
"Wait, Am I A monkey?"
