Hello, the story you are about to read tackles very serious subject matter that is not suitable for younger audiences who may find it too disturbing. I feel the subjects are worth as much awareness as possible but wouldn't want anyone harmed before to be traumatized further, so must issue a trigger warning.
Prologue
The rain constantly crashed into the large window above their heads, and the mall was strangely empty, probably because it was a Thursday. It was freezing in the mall for some reason, and two kids could feel it all the way down their spines. As thirteen year old Sheldon Cooper was sitting in the food court desperately waiting for his tutoring session to be over.
"Huh, how do I put this" Sheldon said as he tried to simplify the problem for his eight year old student "if I had nine fingers on one hand and eight fingers on my other hand, how many fingers would I have"
"Uhhh" Evan said as he thought "seventeen"
"Wrong- wait correct" Sheldon stuttered, "sorry force of habit, and speaking of forces any chance you'd be interested in learning some equations to calculate resistor values" he said with excitement
"No" Evan said with his head down "do you want to get a smoothie after this"
"No, why?" Sheldon asked
"Well I just thought it was something friends do" Evan said covering his face
"Oh we're actually not friends, President Hagilmeyer asked me to tutor you so East Texas Tech can keep getting funding from your parents and the university said that a recommendation from them would get me into a school that's actually tolerates me, I'm sorry if you didn't know they wouldn't let me type out tutoring agreement" Sheldon specified being completely serious and naive. Evan just sighed at this.
"Can you at least get me ice cream" Evan politely asked
"I suppose that would be nice, since I am spending money on you then you would owe me further, boy do I love economics" Sheldon said putting him an Evans stuff away in his backpack for him
While standing in line for ice cream Evan couldn't help feeling like something was snooping around, the hairs he barely had on his neck were standing up. They finally made it to the front and Sheldon bought them ice cream "you know my manager doesn't like kids, he makes us poison all their orders" the douchey guy at the cash register told them
"WHAT!" Sheldon freaked out
"It's a joke Sheldon" Evan said walking away from that creep behind the counter
The two of them walked away "hey radio shack, I have a coupon let's go"
"Ugh no thank you"
"But I promised your parents I'd stay with you, come on" Sheldon specified
"So in a way that technically makes me your manager, I relieve you of duty" Evan said knowing good and well how to manipulate Sheldon at this point
"Ooh a loophole, sometimes I don't give you enough credit Evan" Sheldon said as he went into radio shack
Evan had finally given up on trying to be friends with Sheldon and let him go on his own. His parents would be there to pick him up in like ten minutes anyway. He went out to the front door, used his backpack as an umbrella, and waited, and waited…. And Waited. A ten minute wait somehow turned into a two hour long wait. He walked along the perimeter of the mall to check every possible place they could be and found nothing. There was a weird sound behind him, but when he looked he saw it was nothing.
"Hey kid" the douche from the ice cream shop earlier said walking by "Mommy abandon you here, makes sense"
Evan took off his backpack and threw it at his back. It was a direct hit right in his spine, the jerk picked the bag up "you're dead" he said chasing Evan. Evan ran for his life into the parking garage getting chased by him.
After a few twists and turns Evan successfully evaded the psycho and lost him in the shadows.
"Forget it, ya little bastard" the douche said before throwing his backpack out of his line of sight
Evan waited about ten minutes before coming out of his hiding spot and went to retrieve his backpack. He looked around the direction he threw it, and decided it either fell into some bushes to his left or in the alleyway right. Evan looked through the bushes, he saw something that could be his backpack but when he pulled it out he found nothing but an old sock.
Out of the corner of his ear he swore he heard something, footsteps maybe. He looked back but didn't see anyone, must've just been the rain or something. If it was that douche again he would've just tackled him so maybe he was fine.
Evan cautiously approached the alleyway, no rats or birds or anything to make a sound. Just his stomach starting to curl as he got closer for some reason. He tried to spot his backpack before entering but he couldn't see anything.
There was some soft noise down the alleyway from rats maybe. He took one step into the shadow and his heart froze as two yellow eyes became visible. Evan fell back and tried to pull himself away.
"Hi Buddy" a warm and kind voice said from the shadow
Evan stopped for a minute and let the figure reveal itself, thankfully it wasn't that douche from earlier. It was a pretty woman who came out and squatted down to his level. "Is this yours, I found it over there" she said revealing his backpack, she held it towards him with a kind smile. How could he possibly mistake her eyes for yellow, they were blue.
Evan slowly got back up, he reached out his shaking hand as the hairs on his neck stood up. His hand got closer and closer then…. He gripped his bag, pulled it back to him, and put it around his shoulder. "Thank you ma'am" he said politely
"Of course" she said as she stroked her gorgeous dark brown hair she nonchalantly looked around "you shouldn't be out in the rain why don't you sit down before you catch a cold" she said gesturing to a bench with an awning over it right next to the mall entrance
Evan decided it was all right, it was in public and it would get him out of the rain. Evan took a seat and the woman sat next to him.
"Are you out here all alone?" she asked
Evan pondered on what to say "my parents are picking me up" he said hoping that was believable
"Oh good, don't worry I can wait with you until they get here" she offered
Evan thought about saying it was fine, but if that douche came back then maybe having an adult nearby might be helpful.
Evan peaked over at her and she was looking toward him "your backpack looks a little messed up, did a bully do that?" Evan nodded. "I've got a some time, I could get you a new one" she offered
Evan felt conflicted "my mother says I'm not suppose to take things from strangers"
"Well your mother is a very smart woman" she said providing Evan some solace "that rule applies to adults too, honestly I don't feel safe around a lot of people in this area, it's kinda scary for me too" she said as she shook and scooted a little closer
"I'm sorry to hear that" Evan said with sincerity
"Thank you" she said, setting her unusually cold fingers on his shoulder. "I'm Stephanie, but you can call me Steph if you want" she introduced
"I'm Evan" Evan said with a smile
A security guard walked by, not even bearing them a passing glance.
"Oh wow it's getting late" Steph said "when did your parents say they were gonna be here"
Evan wasn't sure what to say, he may as well be honest and see if Steph could help "actually it looks like they forgot me" he confessed "do you have a cell phone I can use"
"I do but I left it in my car" she explained "I just got the new model that could plug into a computer if I want" she mentioned "Skynet is coming" she said covering her mouth and doing a funny voice
This made Evan laugh which in turn made Steph laugh as well. They shared that moment but Steph's laugh slowly turned into deep breathing, she bit her lip at the end as she stared into his eyes.
That was weird. Evan felt kinda uncomfortable. But that was probably just a quirky moment, everyone has those, right?. "Ugh so can I use your phone" Evan said in an awkward way
"Of course" she said "do you want to come or will you be fine until I get back". Evan looked around and that douche wasn't around. "Huh," Steph said, looking to her right.
Evan couldn't see anything but that didn't mean there was nothing out there. "I'll come" Evan said as he got up
They made their way to Steph's Acura, it was one of those weird ones with the curtains covering the windows on the inside. She unlocked the door and looked around for her cell phone. The way she leaned had her firm butt right in his face "ugh I'm gonna stand over here" he said to be polite as he moved to her side
"Strange choice but ok" Steph said before she finally came out with her phone, she made sure the antenna was ok and took a look around at the empty parking lot before holding it out to him "go on…. It's rude to keep a lady waiting" she said
Evan slowly reached out for the phone, the hairs on the back of his neck were standing for some reason and his legs were shivering. Evan had his fingertips on the phone and…
Before Evan could grip the phone Steph threw him onto the driver seat and held him down. Her freezing cold hand pushed on his mouth. Evan squirmed around desperately trying to break her grip but nothing was working.
'HELP, HELP, GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE' he desperately tried to scream but with every small sound she heard then the harder she pushed on his mouth. "Quiet, this'll be fun" she threatened. The fucking psychotic woman practically pounced on him and closed the door. Evan threw as hard as hard a punch he could at her nose but it didn't do anything. After giving him a small glare she grabbed his hand and crushed it until it turned dark red, she shoved it under his body just to make him feel hopeless. She only took her hand off to immediately stick her tongue down his throat. 'Kill me, just kill me' Evan fought as he desperately tried to escape
She finally stopped after what felt like hours and hours of pain and immediately covered his mouth again. She gripped his pants and stared at him with her evil eyes.
