hi everyone new update this chapter is (Loach Ed Monster) and Happy New Year's everyone I hope everyone good year and fun partying together, Year's 2025 this year.
(this chapter, Eddy encounters a sea monster whileCul-De-Sac's The Swimming Hole in at the lake, but they don't believe him until the Krakken attacks. we wait find out.)
Chapter 6: Loach Ed Monster!
Here we can see a small tributary beach like-area known simply as 'The Swimming Hole' (since its shape mostly resembles a large round waterhole), where most of the kids from the Peach Creek come to swim in a perfect summer day like today's, and that includes our protagonists, the Eds. It's been a few days removed from Ed's battle with Dr. Animo, and after such a tense event, they could use some time to relax. Well, at least Eddy, Vicky and Ed could, Double D had decided to stay back at home and use this time to work on one of his 'projects' (whatever it was, he hadn't told them). It wasn't like much was happening anyways, as the criminal rate was starting to reduce thanks to the Eds' patrolling.
Unfortunately for them, or for Eddy and Vicky at least, Ed's annoying bratty sister Sarah had decided to tag along with them, and she had brought her little, wimpy equally-as-bratty friend Jimmy along. They had tried to sneak past them, but Sarah had threatened Ed with telling their mom, and if you knew anything about it, you'll know that's enough to twist the Big Oaf's arm. At least they hadn't slept in this time, so they arrived earlier and none of the other kids were around, with Eddy finally getting his coveted spot at the beach. Vicky take a suntan under the beach umbrella on the towel and watches both Ed's, Sarah and Jimmy too.
"CANNON BALL!" Ed shouted as he jumped into the water, splashing water everywhere and completely soaking his little sister and Jimmy.
"ED! Watch it, you big doofus! You got us all soak!" Sarah yelled at her brother.
"My hair's ruined!" Jimmy complained as he tried to wring water out of his fluffy hair.
"We came here to swim, shrimp. You were going to get wet anyways…" Eddy observed with an eye roll while on the water.
Second after, Ed came out from underwater next to him, spitting a water squirt as he did so. "I am a whale, Eddy!" he exclaimed.
"Whatever, come on Jimmy, let's go swim at a bonehead free place!" Sarah said as she walked off.
"Ow! Eee! Ooh! Hot! Calluses!" Jimmy exclaimed while skipping over the hot sand as he followed. and Vicky let out signed with annoying look across of Sarah and Jimmy. and she tell the both boys she watched them and got up and followed young kids.
Eddy gritted his teeth in exasperation as he turned to look at Ed. "Y'know I love you pal, but your sister is the BIGGEST LOUDMOUTH BRAT ON EARTH!" he shouted.
"She also likes to watch me eat yogurt from my belly button. Heh heh heh!" Ed laughed as he splashed around the water, totally oblivious at what Eddy was trying to tell him.
Eddy just stared at him in confusion before looking at his own wrist and at the superwatch on it, an idea coming to his mind and an evil smile on his face. "Excuse me Lumpy, I'll be back in a minute, I have to… do some oceanic exploration" he lied as he went underwater.
"Ahoy, Eddy! It is I, Neptune, King of the sea!" Ed exclaimed as he continued to flop over on the water, leaping from side to side and making dolphin sounds as he did so. He failed to realize about a certain white light that flashed underwater.
Meanwhile in a different part of the Swimming Hole, Sarah and Jimmy were making a sand unicorn near the shore to the water. "I tell you Jimmy, I wanted to come here just the two of us, but my mom insisted I had to tag along with Ed or she wouldn't let me come! She always does that to me!" Sarah complained as she put more sand over the unicorn's 'back'. and for Vicky want underwater to swimming.
"I'm sure she just wants the best for you, Sarah. She probably thinks you'll be safer if Ed is around to protect you" Jimmy told her as he patted the sand into shape.
"Protect me? Oh, please! As if that oaf could do anything! I can't even count on him to make my chores properly!" Sarah exclaimed as she sat on the sand. "Why would I need him to protect me? She treats me like a baby… he does so as well! Thinking he needs to 'protect me', I can take care of myself…" she said crossing her arms and legs.
"Well, remember all those strange things happening around here, specially that Peach Creek's Guardians save day and fight crimes and not to mention the giant animals and those strange monsters that continue to appear through the city…" Jimmy said as he shivered in terror remembering all of that.
"Right… but still, that's got nothing to do with us! Besides, what can Ed do about it? He would probably run away like he always does, or maybe hide inside his clothes like a turtle…" Sarah joked.
"Or hide his head underground, like an ostrich!" Jimmy added to the joke, managing to make Sarah actually crack up a smile.
"Haha, yeah!" Sarah laughed, but then turned back into a frown. "But the worst part is we have to bear my brother's stupid friends… well, just Eddy. Vicky kind of same time as with my brother and his friends and Double D is… nice" Sarah said with a daydream tone on the last part.
This didn't go unnoticed by Jimmy, who immediately frowned at this and decided to quickly change the subject. "This Unicorn is getting perfect, Sarah!"
Sarah smiled back at him. "It only needs a ribbon to be complete!"
"I'll go get one!" Jimmy said as he stood up and approached the shore, looking for one of the ribbons they had brought. Suddenly, the water near him started to bubble up, a big shadow appearing under the surface. "S-Sarah" Jimmy panicked upon seeing this.
He saw something rear its head from underwater, at first it was all green and grassy, so he thought it may be a bunch of algae, however as it continued to move and raise, Jimmy saw something of a yellow color amongst it. "I-Is that a f-fish?" he asked.
The creature continued to rise up until it was at least six feet tall, with most of its body covered by algae, to head and feet with familiar white eyes. "SARAH!" Jimmy shouted in terror upon seeing the huge creature emerge from the water.
"Jimmy! W-WHAT'S T-THAT?!" Sarah shouted as well.
"I'm the Lagoon Monster! Your playing has disrupted my thousand-year sleep, kids! Now prepare to become part of my all-you-can-eat buffet!" the 'monster' exclaimed as he extended his huge arms and moved his fingers on his gloves to add 'spookiness' to his act.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" the two kids exclaimed in terror as they fled from the apparent monster. They ran away so quickly in fact that they went through the sand unicorn they were making as they headed for the forest.
The 'monster' stopped just short of getting out of the water as he exploded into a burst of laughter "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's for EVERYTHING you put us through, you spoiled brats!" he exclaimed as he moved the grass off his head, revealing himself to be none other than Heighten though neither Sarah nor Jimmy knew that.
"A monster in a lake? What a bunch of suckers!" Heighten laughed as he took out the algae from his body, failing to realize an even bigger shadow appearing underwater. "Ed?" Heighten asked as he heard the water bubble behind him. He turned around and saw something rear its head on the water.
"Really cute Lumpy, thinking you can scare me! Look, your brat-of-a-sister had it coming…" Heighten explained, until he saw the thing started to rise up, getting taller and taller until it even managed to tower him. It seemed to be some kind of giant sea serpent, which was looking down right at him!
"M-Mommy…" Heighten muttered as he looked in awe at the giant creature in front of him. The creature pulled its tail from underwater and used it to smack Heighten, sending him crashing through the sand, and through some rocks too, and into some trees. The creature then turned around and submerged back underwater.
Heighten recovered from crashing into the trees and stood up, spitting some sand he had accidentally swallowed and even formed a full sand castle on the ground. "Did someone take the plates of the truck?" he asked groggily. Once he had recovered from his dizziness, he looked around for any signs of the mysterious creature that attacked him, but found nothing. "Where did it go?" he asked himself aloud.
Suddenly, realization hit and he remembered something. "Oh, no! Lumpy and Vicky!" he exclaimed as he rushed back to the area where he had been swimming with Ed and Vicky before pulling his prank. "Ed! Ed!, Vicky! Vicky! Get out of the water!" he shouted as he looked around for his partners, but found no sight of them.
Suddenly, he saw some bubbles of oxygen coming out of the water. "NO!" he yelled, thinking the worst. Had the monster actually gotten Ed and Vicky before them had come? Was Ed and Vicky struggling underwater, trapped by it and giving they last breath? Or maybe the monster had already eaten them and it had belch…
Those questions where interrupted when Ed emerged from the water, spitting another squirt and clapping while making more dolphin noises. "ED!" Heighten exclaimed upon seeing his friend alive and well.
"Hey Eddy!" Ed saluted, but stopped when he saw his friend had transformed into one of his hero suit on . "Oh, sorry, I meant Heighten! You really should work on the name though…"
"Forget that! Get out of the water right now!" Heighten demanded.
"But I'm an endangered mammal!" Ed complained, still playing like he was an actual whale.
"And you're going to be extinct if you don't get out! There's a monster in the lake!" Heighten exclaimed.
Ed eyes widened with stars forming in them upon hearing this. "A monster?"
"Yes, Lumpy. Something attacked me after I- umm… never mind, but get out of there before it's too-" Heighten was explaining, but he was interrupted when some big bubbles started coming from the water, right behind Ed. He gasped as both he and Ed looked at them, suddenly where is they other friend is Heighten turned to Ed he said to him. "Ed! where is Vicky at now." so Ed started thinking about where Vicky is as he said to Heighten. "well I think Vicky in underwater swimming now!"
so now Heighten starts to panic now, he thinks Vicky in the water never die in the water and before the big hero boy assumed a battle instance, ready to beat that monster up. However, the bubbles stopped coming and the look on Ed's face just told him what they actually were.
"Well, you may have killed the monster right there, Monobrow… and save Vicky" Heighten said with a look of disgust on his face. "But just in case…" he went and grabbed Ed with one of his… well, arms, lifting him up as easily as Ed usually did to his human self. He got Ed out of the water before he jumped straight into the lake, splashing water all over the already wet lump.
Heighten looked around while underwater, but he found no trace of the supposed monster and Vicky. All he saw were some algae and rocks, as well as some trash and the occasional fish. Suddenly he quick turn back normal self and so he decided to head overwater, as he came out and turned him back to his human form. he not seeing Vicky anywhere else and he started to got worried now, she nowhere to been find.
"I couldn't see anything!" the now regular Eddy exclaimed. "But, I don't get it. How could something so big hide so fast and I not find Vicky at nowhere, where I say to Double D his cousin eating at a sea monster?" he asked with sad look.
be suddenly a familiar girl voice said to them, with both them turn around see Vicky stood on the surface of the beach with a confused across her face and she said to them. "who said to Eddward a what now!"
is taking Eddy long to run out water at Vicky to huge her and he said to her. "oh! Vicky, you are ok we think you are eating a the Sea Monster just now!"
so Vicky with now confused about all this, Eddy said that a Sea monster out there in water, she not thinking believe a no Sea Monster in the Peach Creek Beach and he thinks see big log floating on the water or he drink to much beach water just now and she said to him. "are you sure you're seeing things or see a shadow fish in the water just now."
now Eddy can not believe what Vicky says to him, Eddy said to her with angry. "I know what I saw is a big Sea monster in the beach I'm telling you I know I saw just now and you were not going to believe me tell Ed what I saw, right Ed!"
"Oh, but I wanted to see a real monster, Eddy and Eddy see not me but want see real monster too now!" Ed complained.
"Let's head back and tell Double D about this…" Eddy suggested as he got out of the water, looking behind his back just in case the monster would appear again.
Later on at Double D's house:
"What you're telling me is impossible" Double D observed. "There is no such thing as a lake monster" he explained. After not being able to find any sign of the creature that had attacked him, Eddy decided the best thing to do was go to Double D's house and inform him about the possible threat lurking in the waters of Peach Creek. However, much to Eddy's dismay, the smartest Ed hadn't bought into his idea of a 'lake monster'.
"I know, I was think he was just hallucinating as first all this, I think he just see big log floating on the water or he drink to much beach water just now and he think I was dead or something!" Vicky said to them with she sit on armchair now.
"I'm telling you Sockhead and Vicky, I saw it! With my own two eyes! And it attacked me!" Eddy exclaimed with irritation, not liking that his friend didn't believe what he was telling, especially when he was telling the truth for once. "I mean, why is it so crazy? If I had told you that plants monster exist or that birds and frogs could mutate into giant animals before this all started you two wouldn't have believed me either!" he reasoned.
"Well, while what you're telling me is true, Eddy, there is just no way for such a creature to exist in a manmade freshwater ecosystem" Double D explained. "Otherwise there would already have been other types of sightings around Peach Creek, since the Swimming Hole extends away from the main part of the Creek, which runs through all of Peach Creek."
"But Double D, lake monsters are part of the glorious dance of life!" Ed exclaimed.
"According to what Eddy told, Ed, you didn't even see the monster yourself, did you?" Double D retorted.
"Nope, but Sarah did! Jimmy too! And she told mom, and mom told dad and dad said, 'Not now, I just got home from work'!" Ed explained. Double D just looked at him, and then at Eddy, who started whistling while looking away.
as Vicky know what going now, she turn to Eddy with narrow her eyes with disappointing looking across her face and she just cross her arms what Eddy just doing to poor Jimmy and Sarah.
"Eddy…" Double D said with the same tone a father would berate his child. "Is there anything you want to add to your story?" he questioned. He knew very well when his friend was trying to feign innocence.
Eddy sighed, there was no point in trying to hide it anyways. "Okay, I may have used the 'your know' to scare Sarah and Jimmy, but I only did it because they-"
"Oh Eddy! I knew it! You were using the 'your know' for your own fun again! This is all probably just one of your 'elaborated scams!" Double D interrupted him. and he since they're Vicky was there with them, they're dispose they secret identity.
"No, no, no! Listen Sockhead, I swear over the keys to my brother's room I saw that thing! It was humongous with these red glowing eyes!" Eddy explained.
"It probably was just some kind of big fish" Double D deduced.
"A fish? It was larger than that!" Eddy exclaimed.
"Perhaps some kind of eel then" Double D responded.
Eddy sighed as he threw his arms to the air, there was no point in trying to convince him, whatever he said Double D would just not believe it. "Whatever, let's just watch some TV or something…" he muttered as he sat on the couch.
His two friends and Double D's cousin soon followed and sat each on one side next to him. Double D decided to put a local news show, in case something was happening and needed Eddy to use his powers to help. In the screen, a reporter was giving a brief statement about something.
"And in other news, we keep hearing reports about local encounters with a mysterious underwater creature" the reporter said. This immediately got Eddy's attention. "…more and more neighbors have been informing the authorities, as well as our news station, about a strange seemingly reptilian giant that's been sight at different parts of the Creek, lurking in the waters as we speak! Some have even managed to snatch a quick shot of the aforementioned creature" the reporter continued to explain as a picture flashed on the screen, showing a big shadow rearing on the surface, however the image is rather fuzzy and of poor quality, with the words 'REAL EVIDENCE' flashing over it.
"See! I told you!" Eddy exclaimed as he jumped from the couch and right towards the TV. "That's it!" he pointed at the screen.
"Please, it looks more like a log or a big sturgeon" Double D said as he leaned towards the screen to watch the image more closely. as he said that, the Vicky make look her cousin with annoying look Vicky across her face "just said that".
"Oh, you gotta be kidding me!" Eddy grunted, tired of his friend not believing him.
"Panic has been running wild amongst citizens as a couple of parents have said their children actually saw and were threatened by this monster! This adds to the multiple apparitions of strange creatures all over the city, the police speculates that…"the reporter continued. Double D and Vicky glared at Eddy upon hearing this.
Eddy smiled innocently. "Hey, I swear it's not me this time!" he said while putting a hand on his chest and raising his other hand open.
"Here's what Mayor Berner had to say about the situation"the reporter said as the screen showed a clip of Peach Creek's elected mayor talking at a town meeting, with multiple cameras and paparazzi taking pictures. He is a skinny, middle-aged man with brown hair, and he wears a purple suit with a 'MAYOR' slash and black shoes.
"My good friends, as mayor of Peach Creek I refuse to let some hideous moss-sucking laknste perturb our peace. I know we've already seen more and more strange creatures inexplicably appear over our town, from robots and fire people to giant animals and dinosaurs, and other unidentified beings, but trust me when I say this lake monster is nothing more than an anecdotal confabulation"Berner said through the screen.
"What?" Ed asked as he wasn't paying that much attention, and was more preoccupied tying his shoes, which he failed at horribly.
"That's why I am offering all the money in our monster capturing fund, that's a whopping $73.86, to anyone who can present irrefutable evidence of the existence of this creature"Berner announced.
so Vicky raise her eyebrows with heard about this she can't believe the Mayor are going to pay peoples for captured the existence of lake Monster in the Peach Creek lake which what few bucks. so Vicky remember Eddy reacted coming to heard this money.
Eddy's spiky hair curved into dollar signs upon hearing this as a huge smile formed on his face. "$73.86?!"he exclaimed with his voice full of enthusiasm as he thought about all things he could do with that money: he could finally get himself a cellphone, perhaps even his own custom vehicle (all cool superheroes have one, just look at the Batmobile!) and even a life supply of jawbreakers!
Eddy excitedly grabbed his fellow Eds shoulders and pulled them together with himself in between. "Boys and Girl, we're going on a fishing trip!" he declared.
so Vicky said with surprise look, "you got be kidding me, you are serious about this Eddy you are going to the middle of lake to existence lake monster to do not existence and over few bucks of $73.86?! is not lot of money."
"Can we stop for ice cream?" Ed asked.
"But Eddy, I thought you had learned your lesson already!" Double D exclaimed as he referred back to the previous events when Eddy had fought Dr. Animo.
"Hey, I said I wasn't going to abuse my know, to get money, but there's nothing wrong in using them to gain some legally!" Eddy argued. "C'mon Sockhead, we're playing by the rules here! Isn't there something you would like to buy with that money?" he asked.
Double D pondered for a second as he put a hand over his chin. "Well, I could use a new cyclotron…" he thought aloud.
"And I want some chickens!" Ed declared.
"Yes, all of that and more could be yours!" Eddy told them. "Speaking of which, do you have any inventions that could help us track that monster, Double D?"
so Vicky said to them with hand on her face with annoying look across her face, "you boys not serious are you but not crying to me that lake Monster eat you three up and second of I not coming you three and fishing for man thing not for girl thing so I pass."
So Eddy said to her with evil smile across his face, "Ohh! you are going like or not you don't think our parents Wonder we at and they think you are responsible for us be watching!"
after she heard this and she think about all this and finally she made up mind as she turn to Eddy with sarcastic look across her face and she said. "ok fine, but you lucky I not tell your parents, I know you dirty magazines hiding place is!?"
no soon enough she said that, Eddy's turn pale heard this he turn way to her and he said to her. "fine!"
"I may have some equipment for underwater scanning… but I tell you, there is no monster, Eddy!" Double D said.
"Yeah, yeah, wait till you see it… but c'mon, time's cash!" Eddy exclaimed as he grabbed Double D and pulled him towards his garage to search for his equipment.
"Cookies and milk!" Ed shouted as he followed his friends, only to trip and fell down as his shoes were tied up…together. He got back up and continued following his friends and annoying Vicky follow them too.
Later on:
Here we can see the Eds and Vicky walking towards a different part of the Creek to start their monster hunting, Double D is carrying a box full of tech inside and struggling to do so while Ed has two boxes, one above each of his shoulders, and a third box perfectly balanced over his head and is showing not even the slightest sign of discomfort. as Vicky carrying one box too and Eddy is walking ahead of them with his hands in his pockets. "C'mon guys, what's taking you so long?" he questioned.
Once they arrived at the place, they found out they weren't the only ones after the supposed monster, since there was another familiar neighbor from the Cul-da-sac in there, Rolf. He's a very tall boy, even taller than Ed actually, who has brownish skin and blue hair. He usually wears a yellow T-shirt with a red horizontal stripe, light blue jeans, and red and cream shoes, however today for some reason he has a dark green pilot over his regular clothes, with a fisherman hat of the same color over his head. Next to him an apparently handmade boat was floating on the water.
"Ahoy, Ed-boys and double Ed's cousin!" Rolf saluted upon seeing them. He was from a different country, no one was sure which one since he referred to it as 'The Old Country' and never mentioned where it was located, so he spoke with a heavy accent and in third person, using strange terms no one really understands.
"What? Stretch? What are you doing here?" Eddy asked upon seeing him.
"are you look for the lake monster too Rolf" Vicky said to Rolf.
"Rolf has heard the tales about the beast that inhabits this body of water, and has decided to do something about it! It is one thing to have our beloved Cul-da-sac invaded by steel titans and diamond people, but Rolf shall protect his home from this creature like his ancestors back at the Old Country! After all, Rolf has seen it before…" he revealed.
"Wait, you mean you've seen the lake monster, Rolfie-boy?" Eddy asked, intrigued that someone else had also seen the monster.
"There is no monster…" Double D managed to say while struggling to hold the box, however his legs failed and he ended up falling to the ground. after few minutes Vicky coming over help him up out of box he hold.
"Oh, but there is, smart-out-of-his-brains Ed-boy" Rolf said, his face suddenly turning somber. "They call it 'The Krakken'"."Krakken?" three Eddy, Ed and Vicky repeated."I'm sorry Rolf, but the Kraken is actually a mythological creature from the Scandinavian folklore" Double D said while recovering on the ground. "Do you happen to be from-?""It's a different Krakken, sock-for-a-head Ed-boy" Rolf cut him off. "Now, don't interrupt Rolf as he relates his battle against the legendary beast!""Tell us a story, Rolf!" Ed exclaimed while still holding the three boxes without any problem."As I was the first-born male of the family, it was placed upon me to carry the Great Nano cross the sea to this new land. We harvested sea monkeys for a mail order company, it was a difficult journey for Rolf. Under the cover of darkness, we traveled across the sea in canoes made from our leather shoes" Rolf started to narrate.However, during our journey, a giant sea monster arose from the depths with one eye blinking and blinking, looking at Rolf like a sandwich and gurgling loudly like my father after eating cabbage! The monster cracked open the cargo bin and our hard-won monkeys went spilling down into its hideous gullet" Rolf told them. "So, 970 sea monkeys go into the water and none came out. Have you ever heard a sea monkey scream, Ed-boys? It's a high pitched, almost annoying kind of sound…" he said in a solemn tone.Eddy just looked at Rolf as if he had said the sky was green. "What's your problem?" he asked."Do you have corn in your ears, Eddy? He couldn't have been more clearer!" Ed responded."Do not worry, for Rolf shall honor his Great Nano's memory by ending this beast once and for all in the only way possible!" Rolf declared as he took out a harpoon, handmade from a crowbar. "You may join Rolf in his quest for redemption, yes?"Eddy looked at Double and muttered, "I think he's lost it…""Says the one who's supposedly seen a giant monster in a lake…" Double D retorted.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Eddy asked in an angry tone. and Vicky started little laughs at him.
"I think we should tag along with Rolf, Eddy" Double D said.
"What?! No way! Why?!" Eddy questioned. "ah first off he owning one have a boat and second off we did swim all whole way to in the lake few half us know to swim." Vicky asked.
"Well, for an instance, Rolf actually has a boat and we don't" Double D reasoned.
Eddy sighed, knowing he was right. "Great…" he muttered. "Let's just get all this fancy gear onboard" he said as he picked a box and moved towards Rolf's boat.
Rolf guffawed at this. "Silly Ed-boy, gadgets go in the water! You go in with the gadgets… Monster in the water… our monster!" Rolf said somberly and between pauses, as if having flashbacks of his story."Wait, I think I'm lost. Who goes in the water?" Eddy asked in confusion."You do" Rolf repeated."Why does the monster go in with the gadgets?" Ed asked."No Ed, the monster goes in with the water" Double D corrected."Our monster?" Ed asked again."Enough with the flibiddy-jibber!" Rolf shouted. "My patience is thin like my mama's head of hair!"
Later on:
Here we see the Eds and Vicky alongside Rolf on the latter's boat, navigating through The Creek. Inside the boat, there's a lot of technological gadgets on board made for deep-sea exploration, including a sonar, high depth video set up and an ultra sound which are all being operated by Double D. Meanwhile, Eddy is near the edge of the boat, keeping an eye on the water in case the monster decides to attack, Ed is playing with some rope he had found on the boat and Rolf watches him while sailing and Vicky are at the near the edge other side boat the look at on Creek.
"Rabbit goes in the hole, does a back flip, comes out of the hole, starts hacking up phlegm, runs around a tree, passes out" Rolf instructed as Ed did his best to make a sailor's hitch. He was furiously moving his hands with the rope on it as Rolf watched."I did it, Rolf!" Ed exclaimed as he showed the hitch he made with the rope.
"I tied my very first double-hitched, joint-stemmed bow line" he said with a proud smile on his face."Oh, nicely done, Birdbrain Ed-boy!" Rolf congratulated. "Rolf likes the cut of your jib!""Sonar scan of grid 797 completed, still no monster" Double D announced as he continued to watch his scanner.
Suddenly, Eddy gasped as he saw something on the water ahead of them. "There it is!" he exclaimed as he pointed his finger at the incoming figure.Everyone surprised when they saw in fact that something was floating towards them. Rolf prepared his harpoon, ready to stab the beast once it came close, Ed watched in excitement at the prospect of a real monster, Double D and Vicky was still unsure about all of this and Eddy tensed up and looked at the watch, wondering what the best course of action would be. If he were to transform right now, Rolf would see him and his secret would be exposed… However, once the figure came close enough, they saw it was merely a log with a tub hanging on it, giving it the appearance of the monster's head if watched from far away.
"Oh… my bad" Eddy sheepishly said as he watched the log pass the boat. Everyone just looked at him before resuming what they were doing."Grid 798 complete" Double D said as he continued scanning. "Another pass or two and I think we're done" he said as he turned to look at his friends.
Suddenly, Rolf grabbed his crowbar-harpoon and walked up to the scanner before starting smashing and slashing all the equipment, tearing it to pieces. "ROLF! Are you out of your mind?!" Double D exclaimed in disbelief as he watched him destroy his equipment."Listen, fancy-talking Ed-boy, you're wasting Rolf's time with this junk!" Rolf told him. "This may be a game for you and your friends, but for Rolf its serious business! There is a monster down there, and Rolf is going to honor his Great Nano's memory and put an end to it!""With all due respect, Rolf, this voyage just goes to prove there is no way a giant reptilian monster could possibly-" Double D was cut off by an air-horn.
They turned around in the direction the sound was coming and suddenly saw a bigger boat approaching them."Cardboard boat, stop where you are!" they heard a male voice shout from a distance. They stopped and waited till the bigger boat pulled besides them. On it, a tall and tanned man with a hawk-like nose approached them. He has a stern-like face having tear troughs and dark lining around the eyes which give him an almost tired look, short, dark brown hair and a spiky goatee. He wears a cyan uniform with black accents and boots, just like the other two men on his boat do."Hey kids, I am Jonah Melville, the founder of Friends of Fish. We've closed the Creek due to the mass panic caused by recent sightings of a possible predator. Mayor Berner has hired us for an environmental study of the Creek to find any possible dangerous species as well as to make the correspondent protocol in case we find something…" Jonah explained to them.
"Hello, Mr. Melville, my name is Eddward with two Ds" Double D presented himself. "Me, my oldest cousin and my friends here were actually doing the same thing, and we've come to the conclusion that those rumors are merely-" he was interrupted by Rolf once again.
"Nobody tells the Son of a Shepard were to sail, fish-hugger Melvin-boy!" Rolf angrily shouted.
"Fiercy, aren't we? Calm down, son. We're professionals and we know what we're dealing with" Jonah said.
"We appreciate the help, but we can deal with this ourselves and you may be expose to danger just for being here. I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave…"
"And what if we don't?" Eddy questioned."Then we'll have to contact the authorities, who will in turn contact your parents…" Jonah responded. The boys weren't happy to hear this since no one wanted to get into trouble. "That's what I thought…" Jonah smiled as he turned around and started walking off. "I suggest you leave now."
"Uh oh!" Ed suddenly exclaimed as he pointed at something on the water.
Everyone turned in the direction he was pointing and saw a big shadow on the water, with a big fin rearing through the top."Is that a shark? On freshwater?!" Double D said in disbelief.
However, as the figure continued to approach, it grew bigger and bigger, far too large to be a simple shark. "I think is not, little cousin!" Vicky asked look at the water.
"It's the Krakken!" Rolf shouted as he readied his harpoon.Effectively, the figure raised above the water, revealing it to be a giant slimy monster! It had two big blue eyes, golden teeth, six gills on its neck, and the upper part of its body was dark cyan, while the lower part had an olive color. It also had four webbed legs and a tail with a fin, though unseen under the water, and two tentacles were coming out of its mouth.
"Uhhh guys, I think we're gonna need a bigger boat!" Ed exclaimed upon seeing the giant creature.
"That's it! That's the monster I saw!" Eddy immediately recognized as he pointed at the Krakken. His disbelief was only interrupted when he looked at Double D and Vicky, who was looking in shock with they mouth agape, a smirk flashing on Eddy's face and taking them out of they initial terror.
"So, do you both believe me now, Sockhead and Vic?" he smugly asked."N-N-Now i-it's n-not the t-time E-Eddy…" Double D stuttered as he couldn't take his eyes of the actual very real monster in front of him.
"I-I can't believe it!" Jonah said upon seeing it."We meet again mighty Krakken,
but today Rolf shall air victorious!" Rolf exclaimed as he charged with harpoon in hand, trying to jump out of the boat and onto the Krakken, but being restrained by Eddy, Vicky and Double D.
"Forget about it, Rolf!" Eddy said as he did his best to stop him."Rolf has been waiting this moment for years!" Rolf shouted as he tried to break free."But look at the size of that thing!" Eddy retorted.
The Krakken roared and used its tail to smack Rolf's boat, causing it to shake uncontrollably and making the Eds, Vicky and Rolf fell to the floor."Get us out of here!" Jonah yelled to his helmsman, who in turn put their boat on march and started fleeing the scene. The Krakken saw the boat leaving and roared once again, going back underwater.
"Get back here and fight like a man, you evil sea cucumber!" Rolf shouted as he shook his fist. Suddenly, the Krakken came out again, but this time from under their boat, tearing it apart and making the Eds, Vicky and Rolf fall to the water. As the Krakken continued to munch the remainings of the boat, the Eds, Vicky and Rolf desperately floated over the water, with the foreign boy trying to swim towards his harpoon.

"Eddy, I think now would be a good time for a hero!" Double D told as he floated next to him."Heighten to the rescue!" Eddy exclaimed as he pressed the watch's bottom and transform to Heighten and he underwater as he growing biggest a size of sea monster was.
"Just do something!" Double D exclaimed as the Krakken roared at them.
Heighten walk while on the water and managed to grab Double D and move him out of the way before one of the Krakken's tentacles came falling down on them. He then tried to swim towards Rolf and pick him up, however upon seeing Heighten, the Son of a Shepard gasped in shock."The Krakken has spawned a minion! Get away from me, scourge from the beyond!" Rolf shouted as he moved his harpoon back and forth towards him. Luckily, Ed managed to hold him.
"Whatever…" Heighten said as his visor covered his face once again. He managed to pick both Ed and the restricted Rolf and started running with his legs underwater, moving them so fast that created friction to push them forward, just in time to avoid an incoming bite from the Krakken.
Heighten continued to run through the water with the three boys in arms, until its speed walk managed to incorporate him upwards and was effectively running over the water. However, the Krakken was giving them chase, and worse than that the lack of solid ground to run over was making Heighten stumble, until he eventually tripped over and they were sent flying out of the water and onto land.
"Arrghhh… Is everyone okay and wait, where is Vicky?" Heighten asked as his washing lifted up, allowing to see his face again and he see three boys but not Vicky not there with them.
They were in fact soaked and covered in mud, but mostly okay. They turned their heads and saw the Krakken quickly swimming in their direction, like it was going to keep chasing after them even out of the water!.Rolf got up and grabbed his harpoon once again, as he stood on the shore ready to charge at the incoming Krakken.
"Come on, you oversized barnacle, come for Rolf!" he shouted. However,the Krakken went completely past Rolf, not even looking in his direction as it continued to swim. "What?!" Rolf turned his head in disbelief.
They quickly found what the Krakken was actually chasing: the Friends of Fish's boat! Once it got close to the boat, the Krakken submerged underwater once more before going past the boat and appearing in front of it, splashing with its tail and making the boat shake.
"Someone has to rescue those people!" Double D told Heighten."Great, stay here!" Heighten said as his visor covered his face once more and started running through the shore, turning into a yellow blur from the high-speed walk he was running at. The Krakken hit the boat once more, sending it away. Just as it was about to sink it, Heighten managed to bridge through the water with his speed and position himself between the boat and the beast, running in circles and creating a giant water vortex that managed to scare the Krakken, who submerged back underwater.Heighten stopped running and jumped into the boat, the vortex disappearing after he stopped. However, the Krakken remerged from the other side of the boat once again, using its tentacles to grab a crate that had 'CANNERY' marked on it.
Jonah got immediately concerned once he saw the Krakken grab that crate and jumped towards it, grabbing onto the crate and being dragged along with it."No, you don't!" Jonah exclaimed as he desperately tried to hold the crate and pull it out of the Krakken's grasp, though the obvious strength difference made it an impossible task. Luckily for him,
Heighten was there to grab the Krakken's tentacle and pull along, actually making the beast struggle for a bit before it released the crate and charged at them.
Heighten was actually waiting for it and managed to slip under the creature's head, using his legs to kick its chin one times at an incredible. The Krakken roared and backed down before going back underwater, this time fleeing the scene. it back up underwater it ready to attack against. but suddenly out nowhere a stranger goldish light beam hit the water never the Krakken and this time right scary turn leave backed down before going back underwater, this time fleeing the scene never coming back.
Heighten and Jonah look up see who was is Sailor Earth. she to them. "look like you gentleman need help with it after all."
Heighten exclaimed search his other friend and turn Sailor Earth and he said to her. "hey Sailor Earth have you see my other friend our she a girl I think in the water with that Krakken now."
so Sailor Earth make up lie for herself with out know not Heighten was her. she said to him with nervous smile across her face.
"hey she safe she with the other boys now be for I save her after you save the others boys!" before she turning and leave the boat dive underwater as disappear after that.
as Heighten let out breathe relief as his friend cousin is safe. "Thanks for the hand… and feet" Jonah told Heighten as he and his crew approached the yellow suit boy.
"What's so important to that crate that you risked your life for it?" Heighten questioned as his visor got up.Jonah frowned upon being asked this. "Umm... Our lunch" he simply said after a few seconds.Heighten looked at him in disbelief. "You almost got munched for a few sandwiches?!" he asked confused. That seemed unbelievable and a tiny suspicious, like a quick lie some would say on spot and Eddy was an expert on that field.
However, before he could further inquire, the Krakken's tentacle came out from the water again and wrapped around the crate, pulling it into the water before anyone could do something about it.
Before he could process what was happening, the watch peep sound to look really to lost powers. signaling to him that it was time to go or else he would be exposed. "Uh-oh! Sorry, gotta run!" Heighten exclaimed as he put his visor back on and jumped to the water, running over it and leaving Jonah and his crewmen extremely confused, and visibly upset at the loss of the crate.
"Almost...there... I think I'm gonna-" Heighten was saying aloud as he ran over the water, however before he could finish that sentence a light engulfed him suit is gone and turned him back into Eddy. "-make it!" the now human Eddy exclaimed as he fell and bounced over the water like a stone.
Meanwhile, Rolf and the two remaining Eds were on the shore were Heighten had left them, still recovering from the Krakken's attack. "Wait a minute, where is the strange-bracelet-wearing Ed-boy?" Rolf asked upon realizing that Eddy was nowhere to be seen. In fact he had last seen him when the Krakken had attacked, and that speedy creature hadn't picked him up like the rest. That could only mean…
"WE MUST SAVE THE LOUD-MOUTHED ED-BOY! THE KRAKKEN HAS GOTTEN HIM!" Rolf shouted upon realization.
Double D tensed up when he heard Rolf ask for Eddy, however he relaxed a little as he hadn't realized the truth, at least not yet. "Um… wait Rolf! I think I saw Eddy swimming towards the other side of the shore!" he lied to get suspicion away. He still tried to play the concerned friend though. "Uh-ah, w-we must find him quick!"
"Found him!" Ed pointed out just on cue, as they turned around and saw the screaming Eddy bouncing on the water towards them.
"AAAH!" Eddy screamed as he skipped out of the water and landed face first on the ground.
"Eddy! Are you okay?" Double D asked as they approached him.
Eddy got off the ground, covered in mud and spitting out some grass. "Yeah, I'll live, I just-" as he dusted himself off, he saw Double D behind Rolf's back making gestures, telling him to act a bit more scared to cover suspicion. "Ah, I mean, it was horrible! That monster attacked me and spitted me into the water!" Eddy faked fear as he trembled.
"Fear not, cowardly-yet-loud Ed-boy, for Rolf shall not lose any more men in his battle against the horrors of nature! This is between the Krakken and I!" Rolf said as he took his harpoon and started walking towards the water.
"Rolf! Wait!" Double D exclaimed as he walked in front of Rolf and intercepted him. "You heard Jonah Melville, the Creek is closed! We can't interfere or else we'll get into trouble! And there's nothing we can do anyways, we should just let the experts handle this situation" Double D tried to convince.
Rolf just glared at him for a minute. "No fish-face muckworm is going to stop the Son of a Shepard on his quest for revenge! Rolf shall return and honor the memory of his Great Nano!" Rolf angrily exclaimed before storming off.
Once he got out of earshot, Eddy walked up to Double D and said, "Nice way to get Stretch out of the way! Now that he's gone, we can really focus on catching ourselves a mega-sized fish with chips! and I run to Sailor Earth I think your cousin is safe we to found her quickly-" so suddenly they heard Vicky voice call out them.
they turned to the forest they see Vicky run up them and hug them are safe now. so Vicky said to them. "oh! boys, you three are okay with have you escape with that thing!" so Double D said to his oldest cousin. "is not for Heighten safety us a way for Krakken and I think Sailor Earth safe you too." so Vicky said to him. "yes! she did after she stop the Krakken to attack the boat."
"Yay! Monster hunt! Hold on the onions though" Ed exclaimed with excitement.
The same excitement wasn't shared by Double D, and Vicky who simply looked between both his friends and sighed. "Actually gentlemen, and I use that term lightly, I wasn't lying. I think we should leave this to the Friends of Fish" he told them.
"What?! You gotta be kidding me?!" Eddy shouted in disbelief. "Those fish kissers don't stand a chance! And who better to snag a lake monster than a guy with a monster buster on his wrist?!"
"Look Eddy, stopping criminals and rescuing people from accidents is one thing, but we cannot go against the rules!" Double D said.
"Screw the rules! I fight for what's right!" Eddy exclaimed. "And sometimes you gotta break the rules for that!"
"I'm sorry fellows, but I'm so wet, I've been attacked by a giant creature that nearly eats me, I nearly drown and I'm having not a good day!" Double D protested. "I've had enough, I'm returning home…" he said as he turned around and started walking off. he at turn to his oldest cousin said. "your coming Vicky or stay with them to look the giant creature!"
so Vicky look at her cousin and turn other two Eds as back to Eddward she said to them. "yeah! I coming cuz, sorry Eddy but we can't you gotta break the rules for that all time!" she turn leave follow her little cousin both started walking off.
"Hey! You can't leave us like that! Get back here!" Eddy shouted as he pointed down with his finger to the ground in front of them, however this was no use as Double D and Vicky didn't even turned around to acknowledge it. "Double D! and Vicky!" he shouted again, but got no response as Double D and Vicky continued to walk until both was out of their sights. "I hate it when both does that…" Eddy muttered angrily.
Ed immediately started to tear up once he saw Double D and Vicky had left. "Say it ain't so! We're four no more, Eddy! Like hop, skip and-!" he started crying until he was interrupted.
"Shut it, Ed!" Eddy yelled, shutting Ed. "We're gonna do this with or without Double D and Vicky!"
"But Eddy, what are we going to do?" Ed asked.
Eddy thought about it for a minute. It was usually Double D and Vicky, being the smartest of the Eds and girl, the two who would come with a course of action in a situation like this, they mind was more suited to think of scams and possible ways to get cash instead. "Well… I guess we'll head back for now and return at night, once those fishy friends have left" Eddy decided. Whatever they were going to do, it was better to do it when no one were around, since the Creek was closed to population and they would get into trouble if they were busted. "Tell your folks you're having dinner at my place, okay?" he told Ed.
"Yay! Party at Eddy's! I want cheese and macaroni!" Ed happily exclaimed.
Eddy sighed. "Just follow me, lump" he said as he started to walk away, Ed following with his usual goofy smile on his face.
Later on at night:
Here we can see The Creek while at night. The moon is high in the sky and the woods are dark. We see some bushes moving before Eddy comes out of them, illuminating his path with a flashlight, Ed soon following his tread. Eddy inspected the area, making sure no one was around. "What did I tell you, Ed? Those fish suckers are gone! Am I great or what?" Eddy said with a proud smirk on his face.
"You're number two, Eddy" Ed smiled.
"Shut up, Monobrow!" Eddy told him. "Now, first things first, we need to get ourselves a boat. Ed?"
"Build a boat, build a boat, build a boat…!" Ed started repeating as he walked towards a tree and pushed it down, using and gathering various stuff out of it to make a boat. Once it was ready, he lifted the makeshift boat and putted it on the water.
"Nice work, Lumpy" Eddy congratulated.
"I live to give!" Ed said with a bow.
Just as they were about to board, they heard something move in between the bushes. Eddy flashed his light towards it, reading the watch just in case… and saw Rolf walking out of them "Rolf?!"
"Ed-boys, Rolf has highly overestimated your cowardice! It seems you are just as eager to hunt this beast as I do!" Rolf said upon seeing them.
"Look, Rolfy, we are going to catch the beast but I think it's better if you stay here and don't-" Eddy was cut off when Rolf walked up to him and lifted him by his hair.
"Listen, three-haired Ed-boy, Rolf will restore honor to his family legacy by slaying the Krakken, and no one's going to stop me! Not you and your tomfool friend, nor your other big-mouth smart-pants friend or those fish-worshipper environmental guardians! Got it?" he declared as he lifted Eddy up.
"…fine" Eddy sighed as he couldn't break out of Rolf's grasp. The taller boy proceeded to drop him to the ground and walk towards the boat. "Great, we got Double D and Vicky a replacement…" Eddy muttered as he got up and dusted himself off. "He's stretch and talks weird but he doesn't have his fun side…"
He also walked into the boat next to Rolf as Ed pushed it into the water, continuing to push it while on the water as he kicked his feet to move it forwards. "Kick my feet, kick my feet, kick my feet" Ed repeated as he did so, acting as the boat's engine.
Soon enough, they came to the center of the Creek. "So, what's the plan? I first saw the Krakken at the Swimming Hole, so I guess-" Eddy tried to reason but was interrupted.
"It's probably been chased deep by those fish-faced friends. Only one way to flush it out… with a little, how would you say it? Live bait" Rolf explained as he stood up and prepared to jump into the water.
"Wait, Rolf! You can't go in there all alone!" Eddy tried to stop.
"Worry do not, Ed-boy, for Rolf has his dive companion right here" Rolf said as he once again took out his harpoon. He proceeded to jump before Eddy could say anything else and dived deep underwater.
"Man, that guy is such a stubborn…" Eddy muttered as he looked at the water where Rolf had jumped. "Ed, maybe you should go with him? Y'know, just in case…" he told Ed.
"Alley-oop!" Ed exclaimed as he also dived underwater. Eddy took a glance at the watch, thinking if it was time to transform when suddenly he heard a sound coming in his direction. He turned around and saw something that made him go, "Oh, crap…"
Meanwhile underwater, Rolf was diving deep until something green flashed upon his face. He readied his harpoon to attack, however he realized it was merely some algae. He continued to dive until he found what seemed to be a nest, with a huge ball the size of a jawbreaker inside, seemingly an egg.
Suddenly, he heard something coming from behind and turned to see a shadowy figure swimming close. He launched his harpoon towards it, however the figure barely managed to dodge it. On closer inspection, Rolf realized that it was too small to be the Krakken, and once it got close enough he saw it was just Ed.
Rolf motioned for Ed to look at the egg and then for them to go back to the surface. Once they got back, they found a bigger boat next to theirs and heard someone shouting from it. "Hey, let it go!" they instantly recognized Eddy's voice and approached the boat, however as they were trying to board, a couple of hands pulled them inside. When they got up, they saw three masked man, two of which are holding Eddy hostage!
"Don't you know night diving is dangerous, kids?" the third masked man, seemingly their leader, asked them.
"Why bother with the mask, Jonah?" Eddy questioned.
The masked leader turned around to look at him. "So, you figured it out, huh?" he removed his mask to reveal that he was in fact Jonah Melville!
"Please, like you were fooling anyone" Eddy retorted. "What are you guys exactly doing anyways? I bet you aren't just studying the fish like you said…"
Before Jonah could respond, it was Ed who blurted out, "Eddy! There's a sea jawbreaker beneath water!"
Jonah turned to look at him and Eddy raised an eyebrow at this. "A jawbreaker?"
Jonah merely laughed. "That is no candy, kid! It's the catch of the century: a Krakken's egg!" he revealed.
"An egg?!" Eddy exclaimed in disbelief.
"And once we sell that baby to the highest bidder, we'll be kicking back in a beach at the Bahamas" Jonah declared.
"Sell it? Bahamas? I thought you were science guys!" Eddy questioned. This time, the other two men holding him, who had taken their masks off to reveal they were the crewmen from before, joined Jonah in his laugh.
"Yeah, well, I bet you don't put much attention on school, huh?" Jonah mocked.
"Teacher says I'm just a slow learner" Ed innocently explained, earning more laughs from the crewmen.
"Quit laughing and tie them up already!" Jonah ordered them.
"You are no honorable eco-guardian, you are merely a no good simpleton poacher! You won't take Rolf's prey away!" Rolf exclaimed as he charged at Jonah, however he stopped dead in his tracks when the poacher pulled a pistol at him.
"You talk too much, big boy!" Jonah said as he smacked Rolf's head with the back of the gun, knocking him unconscious.
"ROLF!" Both Ed and Eddy shouted in worry, however neither dared to make a move since they didn't want to risk getting one of them shot.
The crewmen tied their hands behind their backs, as well as the unconscious Rolf's, and make them kneel on the ground as Jonah proceeded to get inside a silver diving suit that looked more like a mini-submarine. It had an oxygen pack and belts with pockets, with the suit covering everything but his face. One of his henchmen proceeded to slowly lower him into the water, using a small crane on the boat's rooftop, while the other henchman holds the Eds at gunpoint. Jonah was retrieved after a few minutes, coming back with two giant eggs like the one Ed and Rolf had previously seen. They put the eggs in a container, with the henchman almost dropping one of them.
"Careful! Or you'll be cleaning out the world's most expensive omelet!" Jonah berated him.
"You won't get away with this!" Eddy told him. Jonah turned around to look at the boys and laughed as he walked towards them.
"Please kid! That phrase is so cliché! You need to upgrade your act, too bad you won't get time for that…" Jonah told them with an evil smirk.
"OH NO! This is the part where we'll be torn to pieces, stuffed into ice-cube trays and frozen and used to cool their drinks!" Ed shouted in fear.
Jonah merely looked at him in confusion. "What's with him?"
"He's like that sometimes… okay, most times, but you get used to it. Go on" Eddy said.
"Well, even if it's not exactly how your eggs-for-brains friend said, this is indeed the part where we… 'dispose' of you…" Jonah chuckled darkly.
Eddy immediately tensed up upon hearing this. "Wait! I-I'm too handsome! The police will search for me!"
"Oh, but that's the best part! For all the police will know is that some punk-ass kids got into the Creek at night when they weren't supposed to, when their boat was suddenly attacked by the Krakken and lost in the water!" Jonah evilly cackled as one of his henchmen threw a small explosive at the Eds' boat, which detonated a few seconds after and blew it into pieces. Eddy and Ed had to take cover so as to not get hit by some of the flying pieces caused by the explosion.
"As for you, either you drowned or were eaten by the Krakken… it's not up to me and quite frankly I don't care!" Jonah told them as he snapped his fingers, signaling for his henchmen to throw Rolf into the water, the unconscious boy immediately sinking like a ton of bricks.
"You son of a-!" Eddy was cut off by Jonah kicking him into the water.
"Make way for Ed!" Ed shouted as he was also thrown into the water.
As Jonah's boat with the Krakken's eggs left, the Eds and Rolf sunk deep. Eddy tried to activate the watch, however his hands were tied and he couldn't move them properly. He could feel the lack of oxygen on his lungs and thought this was the end of it, when Ed came swimming behind and used his teeth to cut his ties, freeing him and letting him swim back to the surface. Ed proceeded to use his strength to break his own ties and picked up Rolf before he sunk to the ground, going back to the surface where Eddy was gasping for air.
"Those fish heads are getting away!" Eddy managed to breathe once he recovered.
"What are we going to do, Eddy?" Ed asked.
Before they could come with a plan however, they heard a sound coming behind and turned around to see a tire-ship, which pilot is none other than…
"Double D! Vicky!" Both Ed and Eddy exclaimed.
"Need a ride?" Double D asked them."Sockhead? and Vicky I thought you were a goner!" Eddy questioned.
"Well Eddy, we admit I was being a little too hardheaded for my own good" Double D and Vicky responded as they friends got into the tire-boat, pulling the unconscious Rolf onboard as well.
"While I did thought that not interfering was the best course of action, I did a little checking on the organization we were supposed to trust, Friends of Fish, and found out its not listed on any environmental websites" Double D explained as he flashed back to when he was at home, tapping on his laptop. "I did find Jonah Melville's name though, but also that he isn't a friend to any kind of wildlife. He travels around the world, poaching rare animals, then crates them up and sells them to private collectors!"
"Crates them up?" Eddy thought for a second. "Oh, man! I bet that crate the Krakken took off their boat had its egg in it!" he reasoned as he slapped his forehead.
"And Jonah stealing its eggs is probably what woke up the Krakken and made it attack everything in the first place!" he deduced.
"We gotta stop him!" Ed exclaimed.
"I took liberty to contact the police, but it'll take a while until they can get here" Double D informed.
"Can't this thing go any faster?" Eddy asked.
"Fear not gentlemen, I have some tricks up my sleeve" Double D said as he turned to the boat's engine, which made out of a cardboard box with a fan sticking out as the motor, and turned it up to the max, making the boat's speed suddenly increase. The speedup let them catch up with Jonah's boat and give chase.
Meanwhile on Jonah's boat, he's steering the ship when one of his henchmen calls for attention. "Sir, we've got some company!"
As Jonah heard that, he turned to see a tire-like boat chasing after them at high speed, and those meddling kids are on it! He quickly got annoyed and yelled, "Shoot them!"
The henchmen obeyed and shoot with their pistols at the tire-boat, but Double D managed to avoid the bullets, one almost piercing their boat and would have deflated it if not for Double D's quick maneuvers. However, the boat chase came to a halt when the Krakken emerged from the waters, making Jonah's boat have to brake and giving the Eds tire-boat the chance to catch up to it, positioning next to the bigger boat.
"Come on Lumpy, let's kick some Friend of Fish's tail!" Eddy exclaimed as he got on Ed's back and Vicky they proceeded to jump onto the other boat, managing to hold to the boat's port and getting inside. However, one of the henchmen was waiting with his gun pointing right at them.
"I didn't think this through…" Eddy muttered as he, Vicky and Ed froze in place and put their hands in the air. Luckily, the Krakken's tail whipped the boat at that very moment, causing it to shake and for the henchman to lose valance, giving Ed and Vicky the chance to tackle them to the ground while Eddy kicked the gun away.
The second henchman came after them and they had to flee as he shot, fortunately missing each shot and with the Krakken charging at the boat and shaking it around, it made his aim even worse.
"Ed! and Vicky! Up!" Eddy exclaimed as he got on Ed's back once again and pointed at the crane on top of the boat.
"Upsa-daisy!" Ed shouted as he jumped fairly high, managing to grab to the crane as the Krakken shook the boat once again, the crane spinning round as they came back charging at the henchman who was chasing after them. Ed dropkicked him in the face and Eddy fell on top of him to knock him out.
"Now that's what I call team work!" Eddy exclaimed, before turning his attention back to the task.
"Where's Jonah?"They looked around and found the leader of the Friend of Fish getting in his mini-sub suit. "The bigger the Krakken, the bigger the payday!" he exclaimed as he activated the mini-sub, two cannons comings from its arms and shooting at the Krakken. Unlike regular bullets, the plasma bullets from the high-tech suit actually managed to hurt the creature and make it flinch.
"Oh no, you don't! It's hero time!" Eddy exclaimed after watching the scene as he pressed the watch's bottom of side his watching transform in the Heighten. after his transform and he immediately jumped over Jonah's mini-sub, opening his wide mouth (seriously, it was even larger than Ed's when hungry, and that guy can eat a camera!) and using his big teeth to rip off the plasma cannon on the sub's arm, munching it to pieces. "You wanna mess with a monster? Try me on for size!" Heighten said as he reared his head upwards over Jonah's visor, who flinched in surprise at the sudden appearance of this new creature. He then punched it and kicked the mini-sub into the water.
"Ed, you and Double D see if you can find the eggs, Jonah's mine!" Heighten told Ed before jumping into the water.
"Space cadet Ed, reporting for duty!" Ed saluted as he and Double D went to search for the eggs."I think you meant First mate, Ed." Double D corrected his friend.
not know of the they, Vicky see two triton scuba mask on the side boat with other underwater air mask with others Recreational Diving Underwater, and so she one on her mouth and take the second one for Eddy as for jump in the water and she transform into Sailor Earth help Heighten.
As Heighten got underwater, Jonah was waiting for him, catching him by surprise and punching him with the mini-sub claws repeatedly. "What are you freak? Some sort of baby Krakken?" Jonah questioned as he hold Heighten' neck with one of the claws. "I wonder how much money I can get out of you?" he smiled devilishly.
heighten was starting to get a taste of how he sounded when all he spoke about was money.
Suddenly, the Krakken dived back and charged at the mini-sub, tackling it and helping Heighten break free. Heighten' feet united, allowing it to swim more quickly, and the antenna on his head also emanated a phosphorescent light while underwater.
so he turn around swim up and he see Sailor Earth with triton scuba mask on her mouth, she Swim to him give second one to Heighten on his mouth as both back of the surface to help the others.
Meanwhile, Double D had gotten close enough to the bigger boat to try to bridge into it, however he nearly fell on the water if not for Ed who was there to catch him and bring him inside.
"Thanks Ed" Double D told his friend,
however they turned around to find the henchman Ed had tackled down before, who had retrieved his partner's gun and was pointing it at them.
"End of the road kids…" the henchman told them. Just when he was about to shoot, Heighten came out of the water and punched the henchman's hand, making him drop the gun which he proceeded to munch to pieces before pulling the henchman into the water with him. Some punch noises were heard before heighten jumped back into the boat, his tail turning back into his feet, carrying the unconscious mook over his shoulder before tossing him to the floor.
"Give me the eggs! Quick!" Heighten instructed.
"Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs!" Ed repeated as went and grabbed the glass container with the two Krakken's eggs inside.
"I got 'em Heighten!" Ed exclaimed just as the Krakken came out of the water and saw them with its eggs, roaring in anger as it charged at the boat, shaking it around and making them fall over with the container breaking to pieces.
Heighten slide over and caught the eggs, putting both of them on his mouth (yep, his mouth is big enough to hold both eggs!) before jumping into the water, the angry Krakken chasing after him.
Heighten managed to dodge the Krakken's incoming attacks with its tentacles, however he was surprised by a sneak attack from Jonah, who tackled him to the ground, making him drop the eggs. "Those eggs are mine!" Jonah exclaimed as he went to grab the floating eggs, however the Krakken's tentacle came smashing him away, the other tentacle finally getting hold of the eggs as the Krakken swam away.
Jonah wasn't going to let it get away though, pressing a button inside his high-tech suit, made specifically to be used on aquatic creatures, and a sound wave was shot from one of the mini-sub's claws towards the Krakken, making it roar in agony as the frequency hurt its ears and losing hold of its eggs. Jonah quickly swam with his mini-sub and grabbed the eggs once again, however Heighten and Sailor Earth immediately charged at the mini-sub and attached to it.
"They are not yours!" Heighten told him through the visor, however Jonah managed to shift the eggs to one claw and use the other to throw him away.As he was floating over, something shiny caught the attention of heighten' eyes: Rolf's hand-made harpoon. He quickly swam and took it, throwing it at Jonah's mini-sub and piercing through it, making the suit go into short circuit. He charged back at the mini-sub as it malfunctioned and punched it away, making Jonah lose the eggs once again.
As Sailor Earth grabbed the eggs, the Krakken's tentacles launched at him, however her managed to dodge as her put the eggs on her arms once again and swam away, the Krakken hot in pursuit. Heighten followed her just in case.
Soon, they came across the nest Ed and Rolf had found earlier, where Sailor Earth dived in and put the eggs back on. Her then got out of the way as the Krakken came, the sight of its eggs back home seemingly appeasing it as it completely disregarded her. However, Jonah hadn't forgotten about it as easily, as he came charging on his mini-sub while holding the harpoon that had stabbed his suit, having been able to remove it.
He went straight for the mother Krakken, but the monster stopped him dead on by holding the mini-sub with its tentacles, then biting half of the mecha suit off, ripping one of its arms apart. Water started to pour inside the sub and Jonah had to get out of it, however he was now essentially powerless against the beast. That didn't stop him from trying, as he took out a knife he had on his pocket and tried to stab the Krakken with it, though it broke in two due to the thickness of its skin.
The Krakken roared at Jonah and opened its mouth to engulf him, the poacher closed his eyes and waited for his inevitable fate, however none of that came as Sailor Earth and Heighten swam in between the two with they arms open to signal for the Krakken to stop. The mighty beast looked at them with its deep blue eyes, the two superheroes teenagers returning the stare, an apparently acknowledging glow flashing on the Krakken's eyes before it turned around and went back to take care of its eggs at the nest.
Jonah slowly opened his eyes, unsure of why he wasn't in the Krakken's stomach right now, to see Heighten and Sailor Earth with they back turned on him, however they immediately spun around and punched Jonah square in the face, knocking the daylight out of him.
Later on:
As the police arrived at the Creek, they found Jonah and his henchmen tied up and unconscious at the shore, with Jonah having a black eye due to Sailor Earth and Heighten's punch. With the information Double D had leaked to them, they had more than enough evidence to lock them up for a good time, since Jonah's poaching and trickery had led to him being a wanted man in many places.
Meanwhile, Ed, Vicky and Double D were watching the scene from a safe distance at the other shore, with Heighten having return to the water after helping them tie up the bad guys, since in this form he needed to be on the water to breath and could only be at the surface for a short time.
so after Sailor Earth turned into back Taylor, to she turned into surface to meet the others.
"Good riddance to bad rubbish" Ed scoffed as he watched the police take Jonah and his men.
"You said it Ed, I'm just glad Jonah's been arrested, the eggs are with their mother and this is all over" Double D commented.
"Yep, because eggs of the same nest go together!" Ed stated.
"I'm not sure that's how the saying goes, Ed…" Double D informed.
"Buttered toast!" Ed simply exclaimed.
Double D looked at him for a moment before resuming his thoughts. "All I'm wondering is… what happened to my tire-boat?" he questioned. It seemingly had disappeared, probably pushed away by the changes in stream due to the fight. It didn't bother him that much since he could always make a new one if necessary, but Rolf was still on it when…
"Hey, Ed-boys! Vicky girl!" they heard a voice calling, finding it was none other than Rolf, and he was steering Double D's tire-boat, having regained consciousness and somehow untied himself.
"Rolf!" three Ed, Vicky and Double D exclaimed upon seeing him.
"Rolf's done it! I finally honored my Great Nano by catching my own Krakken!" Rolf exclaimed as he showed a net tied to a pole on the boat, which contains none other than Heighten in it!
"One of the eggs must have hatched! Imagine this trophy mounted on Rolf's wall!" Rolf said in delight. Heighten merely looked at Ed, Vicky and Double D as if pleading for them to do something.
"That's a nice fish, Rolf! What a catch!" Ed congratulated, oblivious to whom the 'fish' actually was. Suddenly, the watching on Heighten' pectoral started beeping.
"Umm… Rolf, I don't think that's-" Double D called for Rolf attention as the yellow light engulfed Heighten, the sudden sound and flashing making Rolf spin his head again in direction to the net, only to find a soaked and grass covered Eddy in it.
"Hi Rolf!" Eddy smiled while in the net."Ed-boy?!" Rolf exclaimed in disbelief.
"B-But I could have sworn…"Thankfully, Rolf didn't arise any suspicion, being merely confused and annoyed, but letting Eddy go before leaving while muttering something about those no good Ed-boys 'costing Rolf his chance at redemption'. As the Eds and Vicky left, we flash underwater, where we see the mother Krakken finally reunited with its eggs.
