Brian made the decision to stay and run Sandpiper by himself but is overworked. Casey is worried but doesn't know how to help. How will the two of them navigate life without Joe and Helen, and their changing feelings about each other?

The death of David Lynch made me think about Davis Lynch and Helen. Although I believe Davis Lynch was a tribute to a different David Lynch, this little vignette popped into my head. So here's a drabble in tribute to filmmaker David Lynch.

Winglet: October 1973: Joey Hackett stands on the cusp of adolescence, and he is learning that his world is not as ordered as he thought. But some things remain steadfast, and the Three Musketeers face the world's challenges together.

Winglet: Late spring, 1975: Young Brian Hackett sits in the principal's office, wondering how much trouble he's in this time. But things are not always what they seem. Brian gets a surprise and an opportunity he never expected.

Joe has returned from Mustique and forged an agreement with Brian for a business partnership. But he knows he needs to resolve some things with Helen and heads inside to talk to her. Her reaction throws him for a loop, and they reach an understanding too. This story follows immediately upon "Joe Blows Part 2" and begins with the last line of that episode.

After driving Helen's Jeep through his own office, Joe has a lot on his mind. He realizes he has some unfinished business with Helen, and a late-night conversation helps to finish clearing the air. This story fills in some information about the time that Helen was in New York. It takes place a couple of hours after the end of "The Taming of the Shrew."

Winglet: Late summer, 1973: Why does Helen still have an accent when her sister doesn't? Maybe she had a reason for wanting to hold onto it. Joey and Helen spend a summer day talking about accents and dresses.

Winglet: July 15, 1973: It's a stormy summer day on Nantucket, forcing the young Chappels and Hacketts to find something to do. Writing predictions about their futures fits the bill. This story accompanies the episode "Life Could Be a Dream" and also references several other episodes. It provides an explanation as to why Casey would have been a part of this escapade.

On the morning after her disastrous date with Davis, Helen is suffering from a black eye from a wayward racquetball and a raging case of poison oak from a cranberry bog. But someone is watching out for her. Set the morning after "Black Eye Affair."

Helen realizes how meaningful Joe's birthday gift was after all. Set the morning after the end of episode "It's Not the Thought, It's the Gift That Counts." There's more to that "seagull on a piece of driftwood" than meets the eye.

Helen does not approve of Joe's relationship with 19-year-old Courtney Blake. Joe wants Helen to know he is honorable. Some suggestive language based on context from the original show. Takes place mid-episode in "Hey, Nineteen." This interlude is my attempt to make this episode a little bit more palatable to modern sensibilities.

Joe makes a last ditch effort to apologize to Brian for burning down his house (Episode: "Porno For Pyros") Just a little rewrite of the episode.

While sharing the birth of their first child in Vienna, Helen and Joe can't help but remember how much Brian has done for them. And they find the perfect way to say thank you. One that will impact all of their lives. Post series story.

When Brian finally finds Rebecca, the writer of the love letters that were sent to his home, he makes a proposal. But it's not the type of proposal that he initially intended. (Episode: "Ms. Write")

'Wow. Twice in a short period of time. Who would've thunk it' (Hilarious post 3x02 one shot)

Brian's choice of an engagement ring for Casey is slightly unusual.

Casey calls Helen in a panic upon realizing she's in love with Brian.

Brian decides pretty quickly that he wants to name the baby after his brother.

Joe and Helen are ecstatic when they learn she's pregnant.

A visit brings special Christmas gifts for Casey and Antonio, and perhaps, something a little more. Tag to episode 7x10 ("'Twas the Heist Before Christmas").

Helen's looking forward to signing the papers, and Antonio can finally breathe easy. But first, there's still a few things left for them to talk about. Tag to episode 3x13 ("Divorce, American Style").

Post-series. SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE! When Joe and Helen's daughter asks how to know if she likes a boy, Helen isn't sure what to say. But maybe she can answer the question by remembering her own love story with Joe. One-shot.

A short one-shot of two characters that aren't that much different; Brian Hackett and Roy Biggens. I don't own these characters and the only plane I've physically crashed was remote-controlled.
