At the abandoned windmill near the kingdom of Duloc, dawn was beginning to arrive for the Land of Fairytales, the blue sky slowly growing brighter with each passing second. Donkey was fast asleep, lying on his back, with the Keyblade Wielder, Devon, who was nearby on the flat rock, laying on his back with his right-hand behind his head and his left-hand rested on his chest. Princess Fiona was still awake, in her Ogress form, plucking at petals from the sunflower, deciding whether or not to tell Shrek the truth about her transformation.
"I tell him, I tell him not. I tell him, I tell him not..." Fiona says picking off the petals one at a time
She picks the last petal off the sunflower and smiles.
"I tell him!" Fiona says
The Ogress opens the door and steps outside.
"Shrek! Shrek! There's something I want..." Fiona says
Fiona looks around for Shrek only to see Devon and Donkey sleeping. Then, the Ogress looks out toward the rising sun, shielding her eyes from the yellow light with her right-hand. As the sun crests the sky, gold magic sparkles surround Fiona, and a golden light envelopes her body as she transforms back into a human princess. Indistinct whispering voices filled the air and a small gust of wind from the transformation blows through the area. Donkey hardly even felt the wind, but it stirred Devon awake as he felt it blow through his hair. The young teen slowly opened his eyes and sat upright, then looked over at his left to see Princess Fiona looking herself over. His eyes widened in surprise.
"Fiona!" Devon says
The princess looks over at the Keyblade Wielder as he called out her name. Devon rises up to his feet and runs over to the windmill steps, while Fiona descends down to him.
"You're human again!" Devon says
"Yeah. I am." Fiona says smiling
"So, did you decide on anything since last night?" Devon asks
Fiona nods her head.
"I have. I've been doing a lot of thinking and... you're right. After everything we've been through, Shrek deserves to know the truth. So... I'm gonna tell him." Fiona says
The Keyblade Wielder smiled upon hearing this. He was glad to see Fiona come around. Devon and Fiona heard footsteps and they both turned to see Shrek stomping toward them. The princess hurries over to him.
"Shrek! Are you all right?" Fiona asks
She puts her hand on his arm, but accidentally provokes him when he nudges it away and walks past her.
"Perfect! Never been better." Shrek says sarcastically
"I... I don't... There's something I have to tell you." Fiona says
"You don't have to tell me anything, princess. I heard enough last night." Shrek says turning back and pointing his right index finger at her before sitting down on the windmill steps
"You heard what I said?" Fiona asks
"Every word." Shrek says
"I thought you'd understand." Fiona says
"Oh, I understand. Like you said, 'Who could love a hideous, ugly beast?'" Shrek says
"But I thought that wouldn't matter to you." Fiona says
"Yeah? Well, it does." Shrek says
Fiona looks at him in shock, tears welling in her eyes. Even Devon was shocked. Did Shrek somehow overhear their conversation last night? Shrek looks past them and spots a group approaching.
"Ah, right on time. Princess, I've brought you a little something." Shrek says gesturing out with his right-hand
Fiona turns around and stands with her mouth wide. Lord Farquaad arrives on horseback, appearing taller than usual wearing silver armor, minus his hat, along with an escort of guards, two of them holding the blue flags of Duloc. Donkey finally wakes up with a yawn as the guards march by.
"What'd I miss? What'd I miss?" Donkey asks
The guards looms over him and one of them looks his way.
"Who said that? Couldn't have been a donkey." Donkey mutters quietly
Donkey quickly moves away and retreats behind Devon. Lord Farquaad stops his white horse infront of Fiona.
"Princess Fiona." Farquaad says
"As promised. Now hand it over." Shrek says rising to his feet
"Very well, Ogre. The deed to your swamp, cleared out, as agreed. Take it and go before I change my mind." Farquaad says glancing down to a guard on his right, who held a rolled-up parchment in his right-hand
Shrek snatches the deed out of the guard's hand and walks away. Fiona was put off by this exchange, but she reverts her attention back to the long-awaited Lord Farquaad.
"Forgive me, Princess, for startling you, but you startled me, for I have never seen such a radiant beauty before. I am Lord Farquaad." Farquaad says
"Lord Farquaad? Oh, no, no. Forgive me, my lord, for I was just saying a short..." Fiona says
Lord Farquaad snaps his finger and is lifted off his horse by his guards and set down infront of her. Left behind on the horse was a large set of gauntlets and a pair of leg extenders that reached down to the stirrups, which made him look tall on the saddle. He stands much shorter than Fiona. Her look turns from nervousness to bemusement, and she smiles awkwardly
"...farewell." Fiona says
"Oh, that is so sweet. You don't have to waste good manners on the Ogre. It's not like it has feelings." Farquaad says chuckling a bit as he glances back slightly at Shrek over his right-shoulder
"No, you're right. It doesn't." Fiona says
Shrek, still standing nearby with his back turned, is hurt by the comment. Devon and Donkey watch this exchange with curious looks on their faces.
"Princess Fiona, beautiful, fair, flawless Fiona. I ask for your hand in marriage." Farquaad says
Lord Farquaad gets down on one knee and takes Fiona's hand, pulling her down sharply.
"Will you be the perfect bride for the perfect groom?" Farquaad asks
Fiona makes eye contact with Shrek before he turns away. Her sad look turns to bitterness.
"Lord Farquaad, I accept. Nothing would make..." Fiona says
"Excellent! I'll start the plans, for tomorrow we wed!" Farquaad says
Lord Farquaad turns left and proceeds toward his horse, but Fiona stops him.
"No!" Fiona says
Shrek spins back around with a hopeful look on his face, while Fiona tries to regain her composure.
"I mean... ah, why wait? Let's get married today. Before sunset." Fiona says
Shrek glares and turns away.
"Oh, anxious, are we? You're right. The sooner, the better." Farquaad says
Lord Farquaad snaps his right fingers twice and he's lifted back onto his horse by his guard. The guard offers Fiona assistance, but fails when she climbs up onto the saddle on her own.
"There's so much to do! There's the caterer, the cake, the band, the guest list. Captain, round up some guests!" Farquaad says
Fiona, Lord Farquaad, and his guards set off toward Duloc. Fiona gives Shrek one last spiteful look.
"Fare thee well, Ogre." Fiona says
Devon and Donkey watch as Fiona leaves with Lord Farquaad and his escort of guards, then run to catch up to Shrek as he walks away.
"Shrek, what are you doing?" Devon asks
"You're letting her get away!" Donkey says
"Yeah? So what?" Shrek says
"Shrek, there's something about her you don't know. Look, we talked to her last night... She..." Devon says
"Yeah, I know you talked to her last night. You're great pals, aren't ya? Now, if you are such good friends, why don't you follow her home?!" Shrek says
"But Shrek, I... I wanna go with you." Donkey says
"Hey, I told you, didn't I? You're not coming home with me. Neither of you! I live alone! My swamp! Me! Nobody else! Understand? Nobody! Especially useless, pathetic, annoying, talking donkeys!" Shrek shouts turning back to face Devon and Donkey and pointing his right index finger at them before pointing to himself with his right thumb, gesturing his other hand to himself and swiping it off to the side, and finally leaning up in Donkey's face
"Hey! Don't take it out on Donkey! He did nothing to you!" Devon shouts moving infront of Donkey and pointing his right index finger at Shrek
"But, I thought..." Donkey says
"Yeah, you... you know what? You thought wrong!" Shrek says glancing back over his left-shoulder as he walks away
Devon and Donkey stood where they were and watched Shrek with crestfallen looks as he continued walking.
"Shrek..." Devon says

Shrek walks across a log bridge and arrives back at his home. The swamp was a mess with a few tents still standing and some campfires burnt out, but all of the fairytale creatures were now gone.
Rufus Wainwright:

But you don't really care for music, do you?
Elsewhere, Devon and Donkey walk together in a forest. Donkey glances back over his right-shoulder, as does Devon, but they continue walking sadly.
Back in the swamp, Shrek was walking toward his home when his left-foot steps on something. Looking down, he saw that it was the cracked glass of his mirror. Shrek's ears drooped as he gazes upon his cracked reflection with a sad expression.
Rufus Wainwright:
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall
The major lift
The baffled King composing Hallelujah
Fading over to Duloc, Princess Fiona was being fitted for her wedding dress. Her reflection was seen through the glass chandelier that hung in her room. She turns to her right and gazes out the large window.

Returning to the swamp, Shrek was now in his house, gazing out his window. He soon turns to his right and walks over to his dining table, picking up his chair and setting it up straight. On the table was a vase knocked over with three sunflowers. Shrek picks up one of the flowers with his left-hand and gazes down at it for a moment before throwing it into his fireplace.
Rufus Wainwright:

I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
In her room at Duloc Castle, Fiona looks upon her reflection in the mirror and flips the veil of her wedding dress down over her face.

In another room inside the castle, Lord Farquaad proudly tries on his royal wedding outfit and his red and gold crown adorned with red diamonds and square emerald jewels. He glances back at Thelonius over his left-shoulder, who gives him a thumbs up with his right thumb, then turns back to the Magic Mirror, who gives him a nod and smile of approval.

Back with Fiona, she stares at the wedding cake, which had a figurine of both her and Farquaad standing at full height together at the top. The princess pushes down the figurine of Lord Farquaad with her right-hand to show his actual height, then turns to her right and looks up at a suit of armor, reminding her of Shrek.
In his house, Shrek leans back against his table, staring at the flames burning inside the fireplace.

Elsewhere in the forest, Devon and Donkey stop by a river. The Keyblade Wielder splashes water in his face, while Donkey drinks from the river. They soon notice Dragon sitting nearby on their left, crying and wiping a tear from her eye with her right claw, much to their surprise. Donkey's ears drooped low as he felt bad for leaving her before at the Dragon's Keep. Devon looks over at Dragon, then looks at Donkey, giving him a nudge of encouragement with his left-elbow. He looks up at him, and he nods his head. They walk over to Dragon, and she takes notice of them. She was very happy to see Donkey, and likewise for Donkey. Then, she looks over at Devon, who stood behind Donkey, waving his right-hand with a smile of his own. Rather than being angry with him, Dragon actually forgave the young teen, and she lowers down to give him a huge kiss, surprising him again. The Keyblade Wielder shook his head and looks up at Dragon as she flutters her eyes at him. Devon blushes and rubs the back of his neck embarrassingly with his right-hand.

Shrek and Fiona both sit at an empty table in the swamp and Duloc on opposite sides, trying to eat their supper, but they couldn't. The princess covers her face and cries, as does the Ogre, though he refuses to shed a tear.

Suddenly, Shrek hears a thumping sound outside. He goes to investigate and sees Donkey assembling a line of branches and small rocks across his land.
"Donkey? What are you doing?" Shrek asks
"I would think, of all people, you would recognize a wall when you see one." Donkey says
"Well, yeah. But the wall's supposed to go around my swamp, not through it." Shrek says pointing down at Donkey's makeshift wall with his hands
"It is, around your half. See that's your half, and this is my half." Donkey says
"Oh! Your half? Hmm." Shrek says pointing at him with his right index finger before placing his hands at his waist with an amused smirk
"Yes, my half. I helped rescue the princess. I did half the work. So I get half the booty. Now hand me that big ol' rock, the one that looks like your head." Donkey says
Shrek starts pulling down the wall and picks up a large branch. Donkey butts his head against it and the two struggle over it.
"Back off!" Shrek says
"No, you back off." Donkey says
"This is my swamp!" Shrek says
"Our swamp!" Donkey says
"Let go, Donkey!" Shrek says
"You let go " Donkey says
"Stubborn jackass!" Shrek says
"Smelly Ogre." Donkey says
"Fine!" Shrek says
Shrek suddenly lets go of the branch, tripping Donkey over, and walks away. Donkey shakes his head and proceeds to chase after Shrek.
"Hey, hey, come back here! I'm not through with you yet!" Donkey says
"Well, I'm through with you!" Shrek says
"Uh-uh! You know, with you it's always 'Me, me, me!' Well, guess what! Now it's my turn! So you just shut up and pay attention!" Donkey says
Just as Shrek nears the door to his home, Donkey jumps infront of him. Shrek walks in another direction, turning right.
"You are mean to me, you insult me, and you don't appreciate anything that I do!" Donkey says
Donkey moves infront of Shrek again, blocking his path, but he turns right again, walking off in another direction.
"You're always pushing me around or pushing me away." Donkey says
"Oh, yeah? Well, if I treated you so bad, how come you came back?" Shrek asks turning back left to face Donkey
"Because that's what friends do! They forgive each other!" Donkey says putting his hooves up against Shrek's chest
"Oh, yeah. You're right, Donkey. I forgive you... for stabbin' me in the back!" Shrek says
Shrek enters the outhouse and slams the door behind him. Donkey groans in exasperation.
"Ohhhhh! You're so wrapped up in layers, onion boy, you're afraid of your own feelings." Donkey says
"Go away!" Shrek says
"See! There you are, doing it again just like you did to Fiona. And all she ever do was like you, maybe even love you." Donkey says
"Love me? She said I was ugly! A hideous creature! I heard the two of you talking." Shrek says
"She wasn't talkin' about you. She was talkin' about... uh... somebody else." Donkey says
After a brief silence, Shrek comes out of the outhouse.
"She wasn't talking about me? Well then who was she talking about?" Shrek asks
Donkey turns away to his left, putting his back to Shrek.
"Uh-uh, no way. I ain't saying anything. You don't wanna listen to me. Right? Right?" Donkey says glancing back at Shrek over his right-shoulder
"Donkey!" Shrek says
"No!" Donkey says looking away
"Okay, look. I'm sorry, all right?" Shrek apologizes
Donkey turns his head back to raise his eyebrow, and then looks away again with a huff, not believing him. Shrek sighs and tries again, giving a more sincere apology.
"I'm sorry. I guess I am just a big, stupid... ugly Ogre. Can you forgive me?" Shrek apologizes
Donkey glances back at Shrek and he smiles.
"Hey, that's what friends are for, right?" Donkey says turning to face Shrek
"Right. Friends?" Shrek says kneeling down to Donkey's level and holding out his right-hand
"Friends." Donkey says accepting his hand with his right-hoof
Shrek and Donkey shake on it.
"So, um, what did Fiona say about me?" Shrek asks
"What are you asking me for? Why don't you just go ask her?" Donkey asks
"The wedding! We'll never make it in time." Shrek exclaims putting his left-hand to the side of his head
"Ha ha ha! Never fear, for where, there's a will, there's a way and I have a way." Donkey says
Donkey glances off to his left and whistles loudly, and Shrek looks up to see Dragon flying overhead and descending down with Devon riding the back of her neck.
"Donkey?!" Shrek says surprised
"I guess it's just my animal magnetism." Donkey says
"Someone called for a lift?" Devon says looking down at Shrek and Donkey
"Devon!" Shrek exclaims happily
The Keyblade Wielder jumps down and lands infront of the Ogre and farm animal.
"Aw, come here, you guys." Shrek laughs
Shrek gives Devon and Donkey a noogie in turn.
"All right, all right. Don't get all slobbery. No one likes a kiss-ass." Donkey says
"All right, c'mon! We've got a wedding to crash." Devon says waving his left-hand
"And hold on to your butts. We haven't had a chance to install the seat belts yet." Donkey says
Devon and Shrek climb up the chain still slung around Dragon's neck, while Dragon lifts Donkey up with her left-hand. With the Keyblade Wielder, Ogre, and Donkey onboard, Dragon flaps her wings, rising out of the swamp, and they fly up into the sky, soaring high through the clouds.
In Duloc, the church is packed with citizens. Fiona and Farquaad stood at the altar as the bishop conducts the ceremony. Thelonius stands nearby, holding a pillow on which rests the two wedding rings. Men with prompter cards hold up cards that says, 'Revered Silence'.
"People of Duloc, we gather here today to bear witness to the union..." The Bishop says
Fiona glances nervously at the window behind the bishop, noticing the sun slowly dropping toward the horizon.
"Um..." Fiona says
"...of our new king..." The Bishop says
"Excuse me. Could we just skip ahead to the 'I do's'?" Fiona asks
Lord Farquaad chuckles, then motions to the bishop to indulge Fiona.
"Go on." Farquaad says waving his left-hand
Outside, a large group of guards stood on watch. Suddenly, Dragon lands nearby and the guards flee in terror. Dragon looks back at Donkey after he, Devon, and Shrek climb off of her back.
"Go ahead, have some fun." Donkey says
"And if we need you, we'll whistle." Devon says
Dragon smiles and nods her head in understanding, then takes off toward the town streets, chasing the guards away. Shrek runs for the cathedral doors, but Donkey hurries to get in his way with Devon following him.
"Hey, Shrek, wait, wait! Hey! Wait a minute! You wanna do this right, don't you?" Donkey says
"What are you talking about?" Shrek asks
"There's a line, there's a line you gotta wait for. The priest is gonna say, 'Speak now or forever hold your peace.' And that's when you say, 'I object!'" Donkey says
"Trying to make for a dramatic entrance, huh?" Devon says placing his hands at his waist looking down at Donkey
"Oh, I don't have time for this!" Shrek says
The Ogre pushes past Donkey and continues toward the door.
"Hey, wait. What are you doing? Listen to me!" Donkey says
Donkey pins Shrek against the door with his hooves.
"Look, you love this woman, don't you?" Donkey asks
"Yes." Shrek says
"You wanna hold her?" Donkey asks
"Yes." Shrek says
"Please her?" Donkey asks
"Yes!" Shrek says
"'Then you got to, got to try a little tenderness'! The chicks love that romantic crap!" Donkey says singing a bit
"All right! Cut it out! When does this guy say the line?" Shrek asks
"We gotta check it out." Donkey says
As the bishop talks, Shrek tosses Donkey up to a circular glass window high above the door so he can see inside.
"And so, by the power vested in me..." The Bishop says
"Donkey, you see anything?!" Devon asks
"The whole town's in there." Donkey says
"I now pronounce you husband and wife..." The Bishop says
Shrek catches Donkey and throws him back up to the window.
"They're at the altar!" Donkey says
"...king and queen." The Bishop says
Shrek throws him up a third time.
"Mother Fletcher! He already said it." Donkey says
"Oh, for the love of Pete!" Shrek groans
Shrek runs inside without catching Donkey, who hits the ground hard.
Fiona and Lord Farquaad are leaning in to kiss, but are interrupted when Shrek bursts through the doors. They both turn to see him and Devon running down the aisle.
"I object!" Shrek shouts raising his right-hand
"Shrek?" Fiona says
Fiona initially looks happily surprised to see him, but quickly becomes upset. The bishop gasps, shuts his book, and quietly slinks off.
"Oh, now what does he want?" Farquaad groans gesturing his left-hand to Shrek
The whole congregation gasps as they see Shrek walk ahead toward the altar. They respond positively to him and begin to do 'the wave'.
"Hi, everyone. Having a good time, are ya? I love Duloc, first of all. Very clean." Shrek says addressing the crowd
"What are you doing here?" Fiona asks placing her right-hand at her waist
"Really, it's rude enough being alive when no one wants you, but showing up uninvited to a wedding..." Farquaad says
Shrek initially seems taken aback by Farquaad's unnecessarily harsh comment, but quickly brushes it off and turns his attention toward Fiona.
"Fiona! I need to talk to you." Shrek says
"Oh, now you wanna talk? Well, it's a little late for that, so if you'll excuse me..." Fiona says
She leans over to kiss Farquaad, but Shrek pulls her away by the hand.
"But you can't marry him!" Shrek says
"And why not?" Fiona asks freeing her hand from his grip
"Because... because he's just marrying you so he can be king!" Shrek says
The crowd gasps.
"Outrageous! Fiona, don't listen to him." Farquaad says
"It's true. Take it from me, princess. Farquaad only cares about how perfect his kingdom is." Devon says
"Devon's right. He's not your true love." Shrek says
"And what do you know about true love?!" Fiona asks
"Well, I... uh... I mean..." Shrek stammers
Fiona was taken aback by this.
"Oh, this is precious. The Ogre has fallen in love with the princess! Oh, good Lord" Farquaad laughs pointing at Shrek with his right index finger
Lord Farquaad gestures to the man with the prompter card with his left-hand, and he holds up a card that says, 'Laugh'. The whole congregation laughs.
"An Ogre and a princess!" Farquaad laughs
Shrek looks back at the laughing crowd and then down at the floor, dejected. Devon looks up at him and felt bad for his humiliation. His eyes soon narrowed with anger, and he turns to Lord Farquaad.
"Hey! What's so funny about an Ogre falling in love with a princess?" Devon says
Lord Farquaad and the congregation stops laughing and direct their attention towards Devon.
"Sure, Shrek is an Ogre, but he has a heart. He has feelings. I've watched him and Fiona spend time together throughout our whole trip back here and I've never seen them more happier than they were before all of this. Love is unique in its own way. It doesn't matter who you are or what kind of creature you are. What truly matters is what we feel inside our hearts." Devon says turning left to face the congregation and gesturing his right-hand to Shrek and Fiona before placing his hand over his chest
Shrek smiled at Devon's words, and he placed his left-hand on his right-shoulder.
"Thanks, Devon." Shrek says
Devon looks up at Shrek and nods his head with a smile.
"Shrek, is this true?" Fiona asks
"Who cares?! It's preposterous! Fiona, my love, we're but a kiss away from our 'happily ever after.' Now, kiss me!" Farquaad says before turning to Fiona and taking hold of her left-hand
Lord Farquaad puckers his lips and leans toward Fiona, expecting a kiss from her. The princess looks down at him with disgust, then averts her attention to the window on her left. The sun was just about to set.
"By night one way, by day another." Fiona says
Fiona looks down for a moment, then looks over at Devon, who nods his head, saying it was time. She nods to him and backs up towards the window, giving Shrek a sheepish smile.
"I wanted to show you before." Fiona says
As the sun sets, gold sparkles and a golden swirl of magic surrounds Fiona as she changes into her Ogress form. The crowd gasps and one woman faints into a man's arms. Shrek stares at Fiona in astonishment and then grins.
"Well, uh, that explains a lot!" Shrek says spreading his arms out
Fiona locks eyes with Shrek and smiles, but then frowns as Farquaad speaks.
"Ugh! It's disgusting! Guards! Guards! I order you to get them out of my sight, now! Get them! Get them all!" Farquaad says
Dozens of guards run in and grab ahold of Shrek, Devon, Fiona.
"No, no! Shrek! Devon!" Fiona exclaims
Shrek and Fiona try to grab each other's hands, but are pulled away by the guards. Their fingers miss by inches. Devon gasped and was about to run and help them, but is quickly apprehended by the guards, who grab him by his arms. Lord Farquaad grabs ahold of his crown and puts it on his head.
"All this hocus-pocus alters nothing, this marriage is binding, and that makes me king! See?! See?!" Farquaad says pointing to his crown with his fingers
"No, let go of me! Shrek! Devon!" Fiona exclaims
"No!" Shrek exclaims
"Get off!" Devon exclaims
"Don't just stand there, you morons!" Farquaad commands
"Get out of my way! Fiona!" Shrek exclaims
"Kill him if you have to, but get him!" Farquaad says
Shrek angrily fights back and knocks out a few of the guards, but he's soon subdued through sheer numbers.
"Beast, I'll make you regret the day we met! I'll see you and the Keyblade Wielder drawn and quartered! You'll beg for death to save you!" Farquaad says
"No! Devon! Shrek!" Fiona screams
"And as for you, my wife..." Farquaad says pulling out a dagger and holding it to Fiona's throat on his right
"Fiona!" Shrek exclaims
"Fiona!" Devon exclaims
"...I'll have you locked back in that tower for the rest of your days!" Farquaad says
"Shrek! Dragon!" Devon shouts looking towards Shrek on his right
Shrek manages to pull his right-arm free and whistles loudly.
"I am king! I will have order! I will have perfection! I will have..." Farquaad says turning to everyone in the church
Suddenly, Dragon, with Donkey atop her head, crashes through a large glass-stained window behind him. Lord Farquaad drops his weapon and looks up.
"Aaah!" Farquaad screams
Dragon swoops down and swallows the short man up in one gulp. The guards either run away or step back.
"All right! Nobody move! I got a dragon here, and I'm not afraid to use it." Donkey says
Dragon roars loudly, causing most of the guards to run away in fear. The remaining guards let go of Devon, Shrek, and Fiona, backing away.
"I'm a donkey on the edge!" Donkey says
Dragon belches and Lord Farquaad's crown flies out of her mouth, bouncing across the floor.
"Nice timing." Devon says
"Heh. Celebrity marriages. They never last, do they?" Donkey says
The congregation laughs and cheers.
"Go ahead, Shrek." Donkey says
Shrek nods his head and turns to Fiona.
"Uh... Fiona?" Shrek says
"Yes, Shrek?" Fiona says
"I... I love you." Shrek says
"Really?" Fiona asks
"Really, really." Shrek says
Fiona smiles.
"I love you too." Fiona says
Shrek and Fiona lean in close to each other and finally kiss. Devon crosses his arms and smiles.
"It's about time." Devon says
Thelonius takes one of the cards and writes 'Awwww' on the back and shows it to the congregation, to which they comply, sighing at the moment. Suddenly, the magic of the spell pulls Fiona away. She's lifted up into the air and hovers while the magic works around her and everyone watches in amazement. Fiona's voice is heard although she isn't moving her lips.
"Until you find true love's first kiss and then take love's true form. Take love's true form. Take love's true form." Fiona voice echoes
Then, Fiona's eyes open wide and a bright light shines from her body, forcing everyone to shield their eyes. A golden shockwave of the spell bursts from Fiona, blowing harmlessly over the crowd and shattering all the windows, except for one with an image of Farquaad on it. Fiona is soon lowered to the ground and set down on her left-side with her back towards everyone. Dragon looks over at Farquaad's image on her right on the still intact window and punches it with her right fist, breaking it. Shrek runs up to Fiona and kneels down to her.
"Fiona? Fiona. Are you all right?" Shrek asks
Fiona slowly stands up, still an Ogress.
"Well, yes... But I don't understand. I'm supposed to be beautiful." Fiona says
"But you are beautiful." Shrek says
They smile at each other.
"Man, I was hoping this would be a happy ending." Donkey says
Shrek and Fiona lean in closer for another kiss, when the ground suddenly starts to shake violently with a deep rumbling sound, startling everyone. While trying desperately to maintain his balance, Thelonius wrote on the back of another card and shows it to the congregation before falling down. This card said, 'Scream!', and the crowd does exactly that, screaming in panic. Devon, Shrek, and Fiona were able to maintain their balance, but Donkey struggled.
"Oh... Aah!" Donkey exclaims
Donkey stumbles and falls flat on Dragon's head. Then, as suddenly as it began, the shaking and rumbling slowly stops.
"What was that?" Shrek asks
Devon quickly turns to his left and glances back at the church doors, thinking that something must've been happening in the town.
"Outside!" Devon exclaims
The Keyblade Wielder turns and dashes down the aisle, heading straight for the doors. Shrek and Fiona followed him, as does Donkey's and Dragon as they fly back out from the church window and around the building.
Once they were all outside, Devon, Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Dragon gaze up at a huge, swirling orb of darkness that hovered high above the town square. Soon, the dark orb bursts and fades away, revealing a gigantic, monstrous, four-legged dragon Dream Eater curled up like a hatchling born from a dragon egg. The name of this creature: Zealot Drake. It had dark gray scales, a purple ribbed underbelly, a muscular build, large bat-like wings with a gradient dark blue and purple membrane, a three-pointed gold crown on each of the wing-carpals, blood-red claws on its feet, and a long thick tail with a six-spike turquoise tip. Thirteen red curved spines run down along the length of the creature's body from the back of its head to its tail. The head of this dragon-like creature was roughly triangular with four turquoise horns curved upwards and six cheek spines of the same color along both sides of its head. The creature wore a red, gold, and white royal crown decorated with ruby, emerald, amethyst, and sapphire jewels, a gold choker around its neck, gold bracelets around its ankles and another on its tail. Finally, the Dream Eater Nightmare emblem appears directly on the creature's body, flashing in over its chest. The Zealot Drake's red eyes flashes to life, its wings spread wide open, and its body uncurls. Gazing down at the heroes, the dark creature unleashes a loud, screeching roar, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth with a green snake-like tongue.
"What the heck is that thing?" Shrek asks
"An evil monster. It'll destroy the entire town. We have to stop it. Dragon!" Devon says before glancing up at Dragon on his right
Dragon nods her head with a determined expression and lowers herself down for Devon, who leaps up onto her back with a somersault, then the young teen looks down at the Ogre and farm animal on his left.
"Shrek, Donkey, you with me?" Devon says
Shrek and Donkey both nod their heads, sharing the same determination.
"Right behind ya, Devon!" Shrek says
"I'm with you, Devon. Let's kick some monster booty!" Donkey says
Shrek and Donkey step up onto Dragon's hands and she lifts them up to her back where they climb up and join Devon. Before engaging the Dream Eater, Devon, Shrek, Donkey look down at Fiona.
"Hang tight, Fiona. We'll deal with this beast." Shrek says
"Alright. Be careful." Fiona says
The trio nod their heads and turn to face the Zealot Drake. Dragon narrows her green eyes and growls menacingly, showing her sharp white teeth as she stood ready to fight the dark creature.
Within moments, the battle begins with the Zealot Drake sending forth a dark fireball from its mouth toward the heroes. Dragon counters the attack, shooting a fireball of her own. The black-purple and red-orange fireballs strike and explode on contact, canceling each other out in a large-sized explosion, leaving behind a thick cloud of smoke. Devon, Shrek, Donkey, and Dragon stood on guard, expecting another attack from the Dream Eater. And indeed, the Zealot Drake attacks, bursting forward through the smoke cloud and charging straight at the heroes with a loud roar. Dragon leaps back, dodging the Zealot Drake's teeth as it lunges at her and spins around to the right, smacking the dark creature hard across the face with a strong tail strike. The Zealot Drake shook its head in recovery and responds with a tail strike of its own, spinning around to the right and swinging its spiked tail. Dragon catches the tail in her jaws and spins around to her right, throwing the Dream Eater away and sending it crashing into the Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppee on the left-side of the town square.
"Yeah!" Shrek says
"Nice move, Dragon." Devon says
"All right! That's my girl!" Donkey says
The Zealot Drake emerges from the building debris with a few stuffed Farquaad dolls rolling off its body and roars at the heroes. Spreading its wings, the Dream Eater flaps them down and rises upwards off the ground, taking to the skies. Dragon flaps her wings and takes off with Devon, Shrek, and Donkey holding on. They flew through and above the town and up clockwise around Duloc Castle, chasing after the Zealot Drake until it comes to a halt, hovering over the castle. Dragon stops and hovers only a few meters away from the dark creature.
Devon summons his Keyblade: Soul Calibur into his right-hand and holds it straight against the Zealot Drake. Pulling his Keyblade back, he charges up his attack for five seconds with light from the disembodied crystal orb shining upwards along the length of the crystal blade, then thrusts Soul Calibur forward, unleashing a powerful, blue-white lightning bolt of pure energy straight at the Dream Eater. The Zealot Drake was struck directly in the chest by the magic attack, but was able to maintain its flight above the castle. The Dream Eater shoots more dark fireballs at the heroes, six in total. Dragon dives down, dodging the first fireball and flies around to the left, evading the other five. Devon aims his Keyblade at the draconic creature and shoots twelve blue magical projectiles in rapid succession. The Zealot Drake shields itself from the light projectiles with its wings, then roars out in anger. It flies forward at the heroes, spinning toward them in a corkscrew charge, surrounded by a dark aura. Dragon immediately flies away to the left, evading the attack, and the Dream Eater flies off in pursuit, shooting more dark fireballs at the heroes. Dragon weaves left and right, dodging the dark fireballs as they shoot past them, then flies upward, performing an aerial loop over the Zealot Drake. As she flies up and over, Devon drops down and lands on the back of the Dream Eater. Then, he hacks away at the Zealot Drake's back, swinging Soul Calibur down with five blows before finishing with a strong overhead strike. The draconic creature roars in pain with each blow received and it flails its body around, trying to shake Devon off. Eventually, the Zealot Drake manages to throw off the Keyblade Wielder, sending him falling towards the ground. Dragon swoops down underneath Devon and catches him as he lands on her back.
Turning right to face the heroes, the Zealot Drake roars loudly in anger. In desperation, the draconic creature slowly hunches over, then flexes powerfully back with its body thrust outwards and its wings spread wide open, unleashing twelve dark fireballs which slowly float towards Devon, Shrek, Donkey, and Dragon like crawling mines. Next, the Zealot Drake fires dozens of purple dark energy projectiles from its body, thirty in total, at the heroes. Dragon flies away to the right, dodging the dark projectiles fired at them, while Devon deflects a few with his crystal Keyblade and shoots the slow-crawling dark fireballs with some fireballs of his own, using his Fire magic. Then, the Zealot Drake charges at the heroes with a rushing attack, its body surrounded by a purple dark fiery aura.
"Watch out!" Shrek exclaims
Dragon quickly dives down, evading the Dream Eater as it zooms overhead.
"Boy, somebody's not happy." Shrek says
Devon, Shrek, Donkey, and Dragon look back and saw the Zealot Drake rushing towards them again.
"It's coming back!" Donkey exclaims
Dragon flies off to the right and dodges the Zealot Drake once more. The draconic creature charges at the heroes with four more rushing attacks, while Dragon kept evading it, flying left and right. Eventually, the Dream Eater stops and hovers over Duloc Castle, exhausted.
Seizing this chance, Devon went on the offensive. Dismissing Soul Calibur for a moment, he leaps high off Dragon's back and hovers in mid-air. For his attack, the Keyblade Wielder spreads his arms out to his sides, charging up blue-white pure energy in the open palms of his hands.
"My turn now!" Devon says
With the Zealot Drake in his sights, Devon throws his hands forward one after the other, rapidly firing several energy blasts.
"Ngh ngh ngh ngh!" Devon grunts
The Zealot Drake is struck numerous times by thirty-nine energy blasts, each one detonating with small, yet effective explosions on impact. Devon finishes with a bigger, stronger energy blast the size of a large ball, pulling his right-hand back and hurling it straight at the Dream Eater.
"Yaaaaaah!" Devon yells
The final blast strikes the Zealot Drake's body and bursts with a huge, brilliant blue explosion on impact, blowing away the dark creature and sending it spinning backwards in the air. The Zealot Drake manages to stabilize itself and shook its head in recovery. But before it could recover completely, the Keyblade Wielder smashes into the Dream Eater's body with high speed and devastating impact, delivering a strong, light-infused left punch to its chest, his body surrounded in a dazzling blue-white aura.
"Oh, yeah! Lay the hurt on 'im, Devon!" Donkey cheers
Continuing his assault, Devon attacks the Zealot Drake with two wide-sweeping right slashes, a backflip kick and slash to the creature's chin, a strong kick to the stomach using both legs, an uppercut slash, a strong right kick, knocking the large Dream Eater away, and finishes with a salvo of light blasts, firing forty all at once with a left diagonal slash of Soul Calibur. He then lands back on Dragon as she flies underneath him.
"C'mon, guys! Let's finish this!" Devon says
"Alright!" Shrek says nodding his head
"Yeah! Let's do it!" Donkey says
Dragon flies forward at the Zealot Drake and the heroic trio holds on. She headbutts the Dream Eater in the chest, spins around to the right, swinging her large tail, performs a backwards loop, hitting the dark creature with another tail strike, spins around to the left with a third tail strike, then knocks the Zealot Drake away with another headbutt.
"Go, Dragon!" Devon says
For the last of their team attack, Dragon charges straight at the Zealot Drake with a loud, mighty roar, smashing into it with six rushing attacks and finishes with a large fireball shot forward from her mouth. The fireball strikes the Dream Eater, detonating in a huge explosion on impact and sending the Zealot Drake falling. Devon dives through the cloud of smoke left behind from the explosion and lands on the dark creature's body, standing directly over its chest. From there, he turns Soul Calibur over with its blade pointing downwards, raises the crystal Keyblade over his head with both hands, and drives it deep into the Zealot Drake's chest straight through the Dream Eater Nightmare emblem, dealing the finishing blow and causing the draconic creature to roar out in agonizing pain. Afterwards, he jump-kicks off the Dream Eater and Dragon swoops down underneath, catching him on her back.
The Zealot Drake plummets towards Duloc, roaring in pain as it falls hundreds of feet through air. Finally, the Dream Eater crashes in the center of the town square and vanishes into oblivion in a bright flash of light, leaving behind a large crater where the stylized 'D' of Duloc once was in the neatly trimmed grass. Dragon descends from the sky and lands near the church. Devon, Shrek, and Donkey climb down along her curled tail and are met with the praise and cheers of Thelonius, the townspeople, and the Duloc Guards as they came outside. The Keyblade Wielder, Ogre, and Donkey look around at the crowd as they clapped and cheered them on their victory. Devon looks up at Dragon on his right.
"Nice flying, Dragon." Devon says giving her a thumbs up with his right thumb
Dragon leans down and gives the young teen a kiss on the cheek, fluttering her eyes at him, while he chuckles.
"All right! Now that's what I call teamwork!" Donkey says
"You said it." Shrek says
"Yeah!" Devon says
Devon, Shrek, and Donkey high five each other, then Fiona came running up to them.
"Shrek! Donkey! Devon! You did it!" Fiona says happily
Shrek and Fiona both embrace each other in a happy, celebratory hug for a good long while, then pull apart, holding each other's hands.
"Now, where were we? Oh! I remember." Shrek says glancing off to the side on his right for a moment before looking back with his ears perking up

Later on, Shrek and Fiona were now joined in holy matrimony in the swamp, standing on a wooden platform near a beautifully decorated floral altar with pink flower petals floating down on the wedding. Among the attendees were the fairytale creatures once banished to the swamp, as well as a few Duloc Guards. Even the Magic Mirror was in attendance, having been brought from Duloc, and he was happy for the two Ogres. One of the Duloc Guards cried at the happy moment, wiping away a tear from his helmed face with his right index finger, but Wolfie places his left-paw on the guard's right-shoulder.
Steve Harwell:
I thought love was only true in fairy tales
To the right of the wedding, the Seven Dwarves play instruments to the song, acting like the Smash Mouth band. One dwarf played the drums, two played the pipe organ, one played his lutes like an air guitar, and one beats on a tamborine, while the seventh dwarf simply rocked out along with them. Thelonius helped out by pushing the pump of the pipe organ on the left to keep it operating.

Steve Harwell:
Meant for someone else, but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Shrek and Fiona walk down the aisle hand in hand. Merryweather flutters down to an onion and the three blind mice and with a wave of her star-tipped magic wand, she transforms the onion into a giant onion carriage, two of the mice into horses, and the third mice into the carriage driver.
Steve Harwell:
Disappointment haunted all my dreams
Shrek and Fiona climb up into the carriage and look back at everyone behind them through the open rear window.
Steve Harwell:
And then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Fiona tosses her bouquet which both Cinderella and Snow White try to catch. Snow White pushes Cinderella away with her left-hand, but she slaps her across the face.
Steve Harwell:
And not a trace, of doubt in my mind
Instead, Dragon catches the bouquet with her mouth. She looks over lovingly at Donkey on her left, who stood on her curled tail, looking shy and nervous, but Devon, Shrek, and Fiona give him reassuring looks with the Keyblade Wielder giving Donkey a thumbs up with his right thumb and the Ogre giving him a two-fingered salute with his right index and middle finger. Donkey smiles at them and nuzzles himself against Dragon's snout, accepting her as his true love.
Steve Harwell:
I'm in love, I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
Devon turns and looks up at the Ogre couple. Fiona gives the Keyblade Wielder a warm hug, and Shrek shakes his hand. Then, the newlywed couple set off on their honeymoon in their carriage with Devon waving good-bye with his right-hand. The rest of the fairytale creatures came up behind him to bid farewell to Shrek and Fiona, waving their hands good-bye. Gingy stood amongst the crowd, having been mended somewhat with his right-leg stitched back together with three lines of white frosting and a candy cane under his left-arm.
"God bless us, everyone." Gingy says
"Come on, y'all!" Donkey says
The guests party and dance as Donkey takes over for the song, singing into a microphone.
Donkey:
And then I saw her face. Ha ha!
Now I'm a believer. Listen!
Eight other dwarves, along with Little Bear and Pinocchio in the middle, kick-dance to the music.
Donkey:
And not a trace, of doubt in my mind
The rest of the fairytale creatures danced as well with Wolfie dancing with the Duloc Guard he comforted, Snow White dancing with Papa Bear, and Cinderella dancing with another dwarf, despite the obvious height difference as she held him up.
Donkey:
I'm in love, I'm a believer,
I couldn't leave her if I tried.
Donkey:
Then I saw her face!
Now I'm a believer, hey!
A group play limbo using Pinocchio's long nose as a limbo pole. The Farquaad Mascot bends backwards as he played along, but couldn't bend all the way due to the large head of the costume and ends up falling over on his back. Nearby, Cinderella dances with Monsieur Hood and his Merry Men, placing their hands on their heads, arms, and waists before turning to their right with a hop.
Donkey:
Not a trace. Unh! Yeah!
Of doubt in my mind!
"One more time!" Donkey says
Donkey sits along with the dwarf playing the pipe organ as he continues to sing.
Donkey:
I'm in loooooooove, I'm a believer!
"Come on!" Donkey says
Gingy stands on the top of the wedding cake, beating Farquaad's figurine down into the cake with his candy cane. Soon, Donkey was back at the microphone, skipping from right to left along with the beat.
Donkey:
I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, hey!
Nearby, the Three Little Pigs break-danced on a large, flat cardboard mat, spinning around until they stop in their freestyle positions with Dieter laying flat on his stomach, his head resting under his left-arm, Heimlich standing straight on his head upside-down, and Horst laying on his right-side with his head resting under his right-arm and his other arm at his waist.
"Y'all sing it with me!" Donkey says
Donkey and the Fairytale Creatures:

On the wedding cake, Gingy dances with the Princess Fiona figurine, twirling it back-and-forth between his arms, while the Farquaad figurine was buried up to its shoulders.

"People in the back!" Donkey says
Pinocchio, Wolfie, Papa Bear, Little Bear, Snow White, the Duloc Guards, dwarves, gnomes, and other fairytale creatures raise their hands, or paws in the bear's and wolf's case, as they sing along with Donkey, waving from side-to-side.

Shrek and Fiona ride off into the sunset in their carriage, a scene which cuts away to a storybook page on the left-side with blue and red text that reads:
"And they lived
ugly ever after..."

The final page on the right had only two words in red text that concluded every fairytale story:

And with that, the storybook closes from left to right, revealing its title on the brown leather cover:

After the wedding, Devon met up with Donkey, Dragon, Thelonius, Gingy, Pinocchio, The Three Little Pigs, Wolfie, the Magic Mirror, Cinderella, Snow White, Monsieur Hood and his Merry Men, and all the other fairytale creatures as he prepared to leave.
"Do you really have to go?" Donkey asks
"Yeah. I need to continue on with my journey if I'm to become a Keyblade Master. Lots of people are counting on me to succeed. Plus, I'm sure there are others that'll need my help, like the way I helped you all." Devon says gesturing his right-hand to everyone infront of him
"Well, thank you for everything, Devon. You're a real hero." Pinocchio says
"Ja, ja. Thanks to you, we're finally free!" Heimlich says
"And we can all live happily again." Gingy says
The Keyblade Wielder smiled and nodded his head.
"Happy to help." Devon says
"Hey, Devon. Before you go, I've been meaning to ask... Do you have a true love?" Donkey asks
"As a matter of fact, Donkey, I do." Devon says
"Ooh! Devon, you sly dog. What's she like? Is she cute, pretty, hot, sexy?" Donkey asks leaning forward and raising his right-eyebrow twice with a smile
The young teen chuckles at Donkey's words, then looks down at his Kingdom Hearts necklace, placing his right-hand over it.
"Well... She's beautiful. Kind, gentle, smart, brave, and strong. Everything you could ask for in a woman. In a way, she's much like Fiona and Dragon. Me and Luna, we're a part of each other." Devon says
"Wow... Luna, huh? She sounds like someone very special. I'd sure like to meet her." Donkey says
"Oh, don't worry, Donkey. You will, next time when I come back to visit." Devon says
"Really?" Donkey says perking up
"Really, really." Devon says
Donkey smiled.
"Alright, gotta bounce. And Donkey, stay out of trouble, huh?" Devon says smiling and pointing to Donkey with his right index finger as he begins to back away
"Aww, hey, don't worry about me, Devon. You just take care of yourself. We'll be fine." Donkey says as he and Dragon nuzzle each other
Devon nods his head, turns to his right, and glances up as a large, circular section shatters open within the blue sky and white clouds, revealing the sleeping keyhole. Soul Calibur appears in Devon's right-hand in a flash of blue light, reacting to the presence of the keyhole. A pure aura envelopes his body and his crystal Keyblade begins to shine brightly with its benevolent light. Donkey, Dragon, Thelonius, Gingy, Pinocchio, The Three Little Pigs, Wolfie, the Magic Mirror, Cinderella, Snow White, Monsieur Hood and his Merry Men, and all the other fairytale creatures all gazed up at the magic keyhole in awe.
"Ohhhhh..." Everyone says
Aiming his Keyblade up at the sky, Devon shoots a blue beam of light at the keyhole, striking it and causing golden rays of light to shine brightly from within. Everyone stares in sheer amazement as the light engulfs them, while Devon held a determined expression and a smile.
Author's Note: The End! Finally, Devon's adventure in the Land of Fairytales is over... for a while anyways. And now, I can begin working on Devon's journey into the next Dreamworks world: Kung Fu Panda in Kingdom Hearts: Kung Fu Heroes, where Devon, Sora, and their friends cross paths with everyone's favorite fat panda warrior, Po, not to mention the Furious Five, Tigress, Viper, Monkey, Crane, and Mantis, along with Masters Oogway and Shifu!
