Chapter 1
*We'll see how this goes, everyone.*
** DISCLAIMER: I'm not much of a Sonic fan. If I get shit wrong, shut up. I'm horny and nerdy. Let me be.**
It was that smile I'll never be able to shake loose from my head, no matter how hard I try. Sounds cheesy, believe me. Never thought I'd be this caught. I've been in trouble before but never this bad. It all began when I whipped up what I imagined would be a pretty average heist for me. Boy, was I wrong.
I had rolled out of bed, stumbling into my kitchen. I grabbed the coffee and started my morning. I turn on the TV to see that Eggman has stolen another known Chaos Emerald. I gently lick the egg from my fang and swallow. "Mine." I mutter. I turn off the television and know exactly what my next mission will be. I hurriedly down my coffee, fluttering and stretching my aching, tired wings. Last night was some adventure, stealing another few precious artifacts to be sold to underground markets, government agencies, whoever will pay a pretty penny. They sit matter-of-factly on my kitchen table as I smirk at them. "Meer trifles compared to a Chaos Emerald." I riff.
I head down to my workspace and get right to the task of researching and finding connections to get me blueprints for Eggman's lab. I have my sources, which haven't steered me wrong yet. Of course, they will cost. Good thing I just had a successful heist, along with other interests of lustful young men. That's right, I pay with anything that will get me what I want, including a brief and obscene picture or video for a fan. It's not every day they get to work with the infamous Rouge the Bat. Haha.
Finally, after gathering all my intell, time to work on the heist. This gets tricky but I love a good problem to solve. It's like a puzzle, figuring out the inner workings of a job. I love the challenge. I lick my fang clean of the cold steak I just downed. It was hot when I made it but I forgot it was there after I had made a break in the solution. Luckily for me, it seemed that most of Eggman's lab would be guarded by robots and machines, which could be taken out easily with the right electronics and I knew of a few online geeks who owed me a favor or two. They could get me what I needed.
It's all coming together.
It's been days since finishing up my plans to steal the Chaos Emerald from Eggman. I was mostly confident with my skills, my intell, and newly acquired equipment. But I felt I was lacking one thing. Something was nagging at me, but I couldn't guess what. Oh well, I'll have to just wing it. Haha.
Nightfall. All is quiet on the rooftop of Eggman's lab. I'm stunningly gorgeous in my all black getup and the robots around me have just been taken out, rather easily, with my new device, able to deactivate any robot in the vicinity. Perfect, I whisper between my teeth.
Nothing will stop me now, Egghead. I head down into the ventilation ducts. A classic move. Overused. Maybe. Cliche. Absolutely! But you can't argue that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I move silently through the ducts, letting my wings pick up my weight so I'm noiseless as I move. Nothing but the sound of air through these ducts. I'm invisible.
At last, I peek through the vents below, almost missing and flying right over it. A shiny blue gem, covered in a glass case. Surrounded by armed robotic guards, lasers, the whole nine yards.
Piece of cake.
My heart skips a beat. I want that emerald more than anything. It was made for me. It calls to me. I take a deep breath, calming myself and my nerves. Let's do this.
I take out my device and press it. The robots' glowing eyes suddenly fade to black, the lasers vanish, and all is quiet.
Too easy.
I creep down after removing the vent cover and flutter my wings gently down to the glass case. There it is. The blue Chaos Emerald. It's so beautiful. I couldn't imagine it being so glorious and stunning.
I pry through my kit and find a laser tool to cut a neat circle out of the glass, reaching my hand through. My gloved fingers are just about to touch the gem when a strong, rough hand wraps long fingers around my wrist. I look up and see that smile. That grin with jagged teeth, eyes just reflective goggles, a nose grotesque and red. And his laugh. A deep throaty chuckle, squeezing my wrist tighter. The breath escapes my lungs. I turn defeated back to the gem. I try to reach, even just to touch the Chaos Emerald, but it flickers and disappears. I turn back and the madman of an evil scientist is loudly snickering at my plight, almost as if the world could hear his laugh to indicate- no- announce my failure as a thief.
"You really thought you could steal from me, Rouge." his deep, gravely voice slithers. His tone is cheerful and prideful, showing how pleased he is with his trap.
My heart drops into the pit of my stomach and I try to mutter out words. "But- it- was- it was here." I find myself in stunned disbelief.
"Yes, yes, Rouge. You so easily fell for my plan, as I knew you would."
He pulled me in close suddenly. My back bumped his gut as he held me tight. I tried moving my wings but he pulled my close in his embrace, rubbing his cheek against mine. His thin lips crept towards my ear, caressing them as he sighed. "Rouge. At last, you are mine."
It's like my mind suddenly snapped awake. I reached out, trying to lean my weight forward to get some leverage but he was too strong. His beefy arms encapsulated me and held me in place despite my best efforts. "Let me go, you sick, beastly-"
And just like that, without warning, he let me go as I stumbled forward, my back up against the wall. He took several quick long steps towards me as the wall opened up. Out of several compartments came thick metal tentacles, trapping my wrists and ankles in its grasps. It pinned me there in place as I squirmed and struggled. "I said, let me g-"
He held my chin with his white gloved hands, forcing me to turn my head facing him. "Rouge. Why would I let you go? You broke in here, tried to steal from me," his voice grew louder, more aggressive. My heart started to pound nervously. "And you expect me to let you go. No no no, Rouge. You're not that dumb, are you?"
"Listen, I didn't mean any harm. I can repay you. I-"
"Oh, listen to yourself, Rouge, This talk is so unbecoming for you." He leaned in close, breathing in my scent, and grinning ear to ear. "Besides," I felt his breath on my face. "I have better things that you can do with those lips, my dear."
