Bakugo was taken to the nurse's office and predictably Midoriya was taken to the principal's office where he was forced to wait in some less-than-comfortable office in this situation would likely fear their punishment, but his only thought was currently on the how. He shouldn't be this strong, it's not that he's never worked out, but he's nowhere near strong enough to be able to knock Ka-chan out. And how far he went. And then there's that buzz he felt before dodging. Speaking of which, how'd he dodge Ka-chan so well? Like yeah, he's quick and small but Ka-Chan's no slouch, and looking back, did he even see Ka-Chan any of the times he dodged?
"Izuku?" Snapped out of his stupor he found his mother walking into the office with a worried expression. "Oh Izuku darling, are you ok? Are you hurt?"
"N-No Mom, I'm fine."
"Ahem, Midoriyas, come in." The stout and portly principal announced as he stepped out of his office. "Just so you know we've already informed the boy's father as we did you." He continued as he walked over to his desk. "Now as you have been made aware there was an incident today in class. In which your boy rendered another another student unconscious."
"Sir if I may as his mother I find that hard to believe," Inko spoke up.
"Really? Perhaps we should take you to the nurse's office and you can see the child yourself."
Hearing that caused Midoriya to flinch as he felt the guilt weigh on him. "A fact that didn't go ignored by his mother."
"Izuku?"
"I-I didn't mean to."
And this isn't the only issue, your boy has been causing many issues, talking during class, shoving students in hallways,-" As he had gone on Inko's expression had taken one of dismay while Izuku's had taken one of shock hearing these blatant lies, then, "even causing a scene during his latest field trip."
A light bulb clicked in Inko's head, "A scene? That's not what I heard."
"Yes well it's typical for a child such as yours to lie about-"
I haven't talked to Izuku about it yet." She interjected, "A representative from Sheild Industries came to my house today to return my Izuku's notebook along with delivering an assortment of muffins as an apology gift for quote, how things went yesterday. If you asked me that doesn't sound like my Izuku caused any issues." she turned to Izuku, "Am I correct?"
"Y-yeah, um, one of the experiments they had there managed to get out and bite me, it wasn't dangerous but they did need to check the wound before Mellisa-san drove me back."
"And this attack, I take it you didn't just attack Katsuki on a whim?"
"I, yeah, well," he hesitated, unsure if he should tell the truth, but he didn't see another way. "We were talking about plans for the future and well Ka-Chan got mad, then he found out I well… applied for UA," he tried to say quietly knowing his mother wasn't overly fond of his chosen career path, "and well we argued and one thing led to another and I ended up accidentally uppercutting him and ended up getting a lucky shot." 'yeah, that's what it was a lucky shot.'
I see," she turned to the principal, "is this true?"
It wasn't hard to see that he wasn't too keen on being called out, but reluctantly he sighed, "To our knowledge, yes that is what happened."
"I see, in that case, I believe this is a matter better settled between me and Bakugo Mitsuki and Masaru."
"I guess so." he tried to avoid her venomous glare. "Still, there has to be a punishment, so, starting tomorrow, he will spend the rest of the week with after-school detention, and the young Bakugo will follow suit." He looked up to gauge her reaction, acceptable. "I will be generous and, seeing as he's already spent the remainder of the school day here, I'll give him today off, think of it as a chance to cool down."
There was a bit more after that but was mostly just formalities, a few snide remarks, and a quick note of the need to get a bigger uniform for Izuku, leading to him changing in a nearby closet into a bigger one. Eventually, the mother and son duo walked out of the office. "You're not mad are you?"
Taking a minute to breathe Inko replied, "No but I have to ask, Bakugo's response, was that normal?" While he didn't say yes, he also didn't say no, his face clearly coveying confliction.
"Sigh, well, we can talk about that later. Do you wanna ride home with me? Or do you have other plans"
Pondering for a moment he sighed, "I think I'd rather walk home, need to clear my head." He cracked a smile "Besides I gotta break the new uniform in, y'know?" Chuckling she nodded and waved as she headed out.
After taking a moment to regain his composure Izuku set out and began his trek home. However, as he walked he found himself lost in thought. 'It doesn't make sense. Even if I somehow managed to get a lucky hit in and knocked him out that way, which seems unlikely, he landed a good three feet away from where he started' However as he crossed the street the thought back to his growth spurt, could his sudden growth and sudden strength could be connected? And what of that sensation earlier it was so strong, it felt like once I felt that sensation my body was almost pulled to action. Could this be a quirk? Quirk manifestation at my age isn't unheard of but it's still super rare.'
"Hey, kid watch out!" A woman's voice cut through.
Snapped from his thoughts he looked up and saw a brunette woman around his mother's age staring at him with a panicked expression. Then suddenly the sensation returned telling him to ~jump~, and once again he felt his body move on its own as he leeped forward with all his might. And to his shock not only did he successfully dodge a car he felt woosh pass him as he leaped, but he jumped so high that he found himself soaring above the woman and straight into the wall of a building. He braced for impact yet to his shock when he hit the wall he barely felt winded by the impact. Opening his eyes he was met with an even more shocking sight. Despite not seeming to be snagged on anything nor landing on anything that could've been sticking to him he found that his hands were glued tightly to the wall. How was this possible? Was someone using a quirk on him or… He thought back to earlier that day, to the near car crash just then, 'Super Strength, Sixth sense, super jumping, sticky hands, and judging by how little the impact hurt possibly even super durability? Could this be it, does this mean…' "I have a quirk?" Hope flooded his heart as a smile crept across his face. But then suddenly he felt his hands begin to slip and slip, and then lose grip entirely sending Midoriya falling. However, just as he got near the ground he felt the sensation return, now fully trusting it he followed its call and let it guide him as he flipped himself around before landing on his feet and a hand. However, as he landed safely the unmistakable sound of ripping could be heard as a hole tore its way through the right arm of his suit. "Aw man, this was brand new!"
"Oh, my goodness deary are you alright!" the woman from before called as she rushed over.
"Oh, uh, yeah sorry for that miss"
"That was a very dangerous young man, don't you know to watch the roads when you cross!" The woman scolded, tho the relief was clear in her voice.
"Hehe, I know, I was just, distracted." Midoriya replied embarsased. But as he tried to ease the woman's shock he couldn't help but bring his focus back to the hole.
"Oh dear, a hole? And that looks like a school uniform too."
"Yeah, broke during the fall"
"Hmm," the woman pondered. "Oh give me one second deary." she then ran into a nearby building. A moment later she came out with a small sewing kit. She then grabbed his arm and quickly began stitching the hole up.
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that, it was my own dumb mistake" Midoriya sighed as he scratched the back of his head.
"Of course, I had to, you needed help and I could provide it, what more reason is there to help." She beamed
Deku smiled fondly at the remark.
"There we go" The woman cheered as she placed the sewing kit into her bag.
And true to her word the hole was patched up, with the sewed-up hole being barely noticeable. "Thank you!"
"Bye, dear!"
Continuing his walk, shaken but unharmed, Deku's mind found itself drawn back to what had happened. "There's no other explanation, it has to be a quirk. But this late? Why would I just be developing these now?"
Then, he thought back to what Mellisa had said the other day, (The various animals here have been determined to have the genes necessary to possess quirks. Should we be successful, we hope to create a means to either set quirks into hyperdrive or even possibly unlock dormant quirks.) 'Could that spider have unlocked dormant quirk genes? But I can't see how either mom or dad's quirks would correlate to these powers. Did it create a new one? Is that possible?' - "Ah, who am I kidding? What's the expression? Never look a gift horse in the mouth? The important thing is I have one, I can be a hero!"
Heading home Izuku's mind raced with possibilities, he tried to see if he could produce a web, thinking it would make sense with his power's source, however, no matter what he tried he couldn't find any way to produce webs. Eventually, he decided to try to make webs artificially, 'I believe Sheild Industries has experimented with these sorts of chemicals. Will need to find a way to fire the webs tho… I think I've seen some heroes with support equipment that should work.' He stopped by a nearby store to grab a chemical kit and the materials for his web shooter.
Izuku spent the next week looking at various pieces of support equipment and testing various versions of Sheild Industries's experimental web fluid formulas. Eventually, he decided on a chemical that strangely activated his new sense. However, when it triggered it it didn't feel like a warning instead it almost felt warm, like he was being reconnected with a vital part of him. What time he didn't spend researching he spent at Takoba Beach, a beach covered in trash, Figuring that he could use the trash to train his powers by cleaning the beach.
He spent another two weeks practicing with his new web fluid and web shooters at the beach. During this time he contemplated telling Melissa and his mom about his new powers but found himself unsure if he should. Realistically he knew he'd have to tell them yet the idea of revealing his new abilities scared him.
His mom has always worried about him and his quirklessness had already caused her major guilt, yet he knew that finding him now having a quirk, thus more likely to successfully get into UA, would only make her worry more. Meanwhile with Melissa, he, selfishly, was worried that him no longer being quirkless, what they had bonded over, would make her turn against him. A possibility that terrified him as they had been texting ever since that fateful day. However, he'd soon find out that there was little reason to fear these possibilities.
"Ok, time to take this show on the road."
Donning his green hoodie and some goggleshe hopped on a train and headed to Barupin city, a city where heroes rarely operate, sad but a good opportunity to test his new web shooters.
Hopping off the train he looked around eventually finding a two-story building.
"Ok, time for the weight test."
Aiming his web shooters upward he pressed his middle and ring finger on the button and shot a web that appeared to successfully land on top of the building.
"Ok, phew, let's do this."
Grabbing hold of the web used all his strength to pull himself up. And to his glee, he found that not only was the web strand able to pull hold of his weight but it was even able to withstand the strain as Midoriya continued to climb up it.
"Woah awesome!"
As he reached the top he scanned the nearby buildings and noticed a tower he could attach a web to to swing to a building across from him.
Shooting a web he took a deep breath and shut his eyes as he felt the ground under him disappear as he began to fall. He let out a terrified scream but continued to hold onto his web for dear life and quickly began to rise again as he began to swing upwards.
Reaching the apex of his swing he noticed he undershot and, not wanting to fail his first swing, he let go and to his amazement managed to direct his fall onto the building. From there he was able to follow his spider-sense and transfer into a roll.
"Haha, test two complete!" He Cheered as he pumped his fist in the air. "With these web shooters and my new powers, I, I might be able to do it. UA here I come!"
However, just then he heard a commotion from a nearby building.
"Hey, stop!"
"Let it go, man!"
Peering over the rooftop he saw a group of tough-looking men surrounding what looked like a store owner as they shoved him out of a shop. He fell onto the dirt hard as the impact kicked up dirt. Onlookers yelled at the ruffians but seemed too scared to intervene.
"Thought we warned you about what happens when you don't pay The Track Suit Mafia!" A large bald man in a pink tracksuit boasted as he stood over the store owner. "Guess we'll have to teach you the hard way. Sytsevich!"
Springing to attention a giant rinocourous man stepped out from the group with a nervous expression as he tapped his fingers together." He himself was donned in a too-small pink tracksuit. "Y-yes, sir?"
"What you waitin' for? Show 'em what happens when you cross The Track Suit Mafia!" The leader scolded, the Rino man wincing at the shouts.
"Yes sir." Fixing his gaze on the nearby building he placed his hands on the ground before charging forward and demolishing the building as it was reduced to rubble. Watching from overhead Modiriya's jaw dropped in response.
"NOOO!" The store owner yelled as he watched the carnage, his life's work being taken away right in front of him. The site was already horrid enough but, seemingly lost in his anger, the man balled his fist and swung at the head of the group.
"Bad idea." The leader growled as he caught the man's fist. He then landed a flurry of blows against the man causing him to double over as he fell to the ground. He sighed, "I was being merciful destroying your restaurant." He took out a gun, cocking it as he pointed it at the man. "Maybe you're leg will get the point across."
Seeing the display many people in the crowd began to step forward trying to intervene, but before they could the mob's leader was knocked several feet away as a figure kicked him. "That's enough!" To their shock what looked to be a boy in a green hoodie with its hood up, black sweatpants, weird goggles, and white gloves stood crouched where the leader had been only moments before.
"Who is that?"
"I don't know."
"Is that a hero?"
"In that outfit?"
"I don't know who ya think you are kid, but this is The Track Suit Mafia territory. Bounce off while ya still can."
Deku gulped, "Sorry, but that's not what heroes do." He then pointed his hand forward and out from it was shot a web that stuck itself on the leader's gun and was then yanked back taking the gun along with it. Deku caught it and then threw it to a wall, sending a web shot with it causing the gun to get stuck to the wall. "Now leave these people alone!"
The man smirked as he gave a lackadaisical gesture, "Sure I guess we'll just, GO!"
The crowd watched in horror as the giant Rino man charged at the kid while his back was turned, but before they could even shout a warning the green hero jumped in the air and ended up landing on the man's back. "Sorry, not looking to be road kill today." Deku quipped, quipped as he shot some webs into The Rino's eyes, blinding it as it charged into his own allies.
"Watch it bone head!"
"You trying to kill us morron!"
"Wow, I can not believe that actually worked." Deku chuckled before shooting a flurry of webbing at the knocked-over group. However just as he was about to walk away he stopped in his tracks and just barely dodged a punch from the fuming mad leader.
"You think you can come here and make a joke out of us! Well, think again kid! No one messes with The Track Suit Mafia!" He roared as he kept trying to hit the pest. He then pulled out anothergun and raised it to point at the Deku, only to be met with a punch to the face.
"Leave him alone!" The man Deku had saved earlier yelled as he punched the leader. He was covered in sweat and looked as terrified as Deku felt.
"Woah, thanks!"
"No, thank you." He turned to Deku, an expression of pure gratitude plastered across his face.
However, before they could continue The Rino man began breaking loose of the webs. "Geeze, talk about stubborn." The green boy turned to the store owner, "Got any information on him?"
"He's big, strong and tough, oh, and really heavy."
"Heavy huh?" Looking around the city he noticed a construction site, "I got an idea!"
As The Rino broke through the web he glared at the boy and began charging again. "You'll pay for that!"
Nodding to Deku the man ran away as Deku faced the Rino. 'Need to keep him busy, Kachan let's hope you were good for something' "Pay for what? Your bruised ego? Would've thought you're teachers had beat me to it." The boy quipped as he gracefully dodged each of the grey giant's lumbering swings. "You're supposed to be the muscle? I've seen EaraserHead take down better muscle without his capture scarf!" With each insult, The RIno grew more and more furious causing his swings to become quicker and wilder. "Weak, Weak, Whoops!" The web swinger taunted as he dodged. "Turo Turo, Rino Rino, Olé!" With one last taunt, he dodged The Rino's punch, landing a kick of his own, as Rino threw himself straight into a large ditch in the construction site. "Hey, I hit a Hole in One! Well ok more like Hole in what three, four?"
"Funny," Rino growled as he began to climb out.
"Uh, uh, uh! Now!" On his cue a bunch of the citizens ran out with hoses and water-based quirks spraying the hosing the ditch, causing the dirt hole to turn into mud causing Rino to slip as he tried to climb. Deku then pulled some nearby steel beams into the pit and onto Rino. Pelted with some webs to make sure he was good and down Rino groaned in defeat. "Huh, my first villain, sweet!" Suddenly cheers broke out from the crowd. If he was to be honest it was nice. However as the situation settled down and he began to think more clearly he realized, 'Spider strength, spider agility, spider-sense, and even my spider webs, no hero license, knocked out bad guy,' and as he looked around, 'phone recordings… shit' Just as he realized the implications he heard sirens in the distance, 'shit'. Instincts guiding him he waved goodbye to the people he saved, shot a web to a nearby building, and swung away.
