It is approximately two months after the Upheaval and subsequent defeat of Ganondorf (for real this time, probably). The damage was minimal compared to the Calamity, so Hyrule was quick to demobilize and get back on track with reconstruction. The Upheaval did more good than harm as it brought Zonai tech and revealed large deposits of Zonite. The main priority of Hyrule's scientists was to remake Raruru's hand and, most importantly, its Ultrahand and Autobuild functionalities. This would allow Hyrule to construct anything easily using only Zonite. After these two months, Purah and her team were successful, and large-scale construction and restoration projects were underway, as well as tank, plane, and other weapons production as pushed for by Link. A new constitution was also written to clearly define Hyrule's government structure. Hyrule was to be a semi-constitutional monarchy, like the German Empire, with Queen Zelda still able to make absolute executive decisions for any reason. With her being descended from Hylia and having magic powers and superhuman wisdom, this setup was not seen as oppressive by the Hyrulean people as any Zelda had always and presumably always will be a benevolent monarch. The only fuckups by the royal family were always done by a non-Zelda. Her keys to power would also never be able to coup her because it would be unjustifiable to the population and also because of Link. Now with fairies and Purah's anti-aging Sheikah rune, there was hope that she would rule forever, never having a non-Zelda on the throne.
That hope was shaken when a beam of white light, not all that dissimilar to Link's pins, appeared in Hyrule Field. The immediate fear was that this was some more curse of Demise bullshit here to ruin all their progress for the millionth time, so Link was sent to investigate. Link stuck his hand into the beam; it vanished. He pulled it back quickly and it was back. Link stepped into the beam and it was what he thought, some type of portal. Emerging from a Stargate/Imaginationland-ahh portal, Link was relieved to find humans on the other side, although they seemed quite worried. The ones in darker clothes reached for a strange stick and put themselves into what Link identified as a readied stance.
The Master Sword begins to glow softly. "Ah shit, here we go again," thinks Link. The Master Sword glows brighter the closer it is to what it identifies as evil. Through interdimensional travel what the Master Sword identifies as evil is not exactly straight up evil. Related universes often use the same tags for similar components, like how in the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Millennium Dawn: The Modern Day, uses the same tag the base game uses for democracies (d) for "Western Outlook." Communism (c) is used for "Emerging Outlook," and Fascism (f) is used for "Salafist Outlook." Link of course is unaware of this. The people attempt to communicate with him, first in Japanese, then in English. No one else knew any other languages except one Ainu researcher trying to remember what little Ainu they remembered from childhood. There were a couple bonjours and ni-haos but Link wasn't even paying much attention, instead moving around the room carefully trying to find what the master sword was reacting to by seeing how brightly the sword glows. (Yeah ik the Master Sword's glow doesn't get brighter the closer you are to malice/gloom in the games but fuck you I do what I want its for the narrative) Link even gently poked one of the guards with the Master Sword. The guy yelled in Japanese, "OW FUCK, HOW DOES THAT HURT SO MUCH," and fired a few rounds at Link who upon hearing their pain said, "Oh sorry," in Hylian while getting hit. Three bullets were fired. One missed, one hit Link's cheek, and another his hip, inflicting some damage and knockback. Link inhaled like 10 apples, felt around his wounds, then pulled the frickin' bullets out and ATE THEM like bro WHAT. He tossed the other guy an apple to make up and continued searching around the room with all the other guards pointing their guns at him. Now understanding what those funky sticks do, Link also pulled out his shield. Concluding that the evil is not present in the room, Link goes to the closed door to the room, after it doesn't open, Link assumes he'll have to solve some kind of puzzle, but just to be sure he tries to break through anyway, which to his pleasant surprise, actually works. The facility goes into lockdown, closing all the blast doors. This does nothing to stop Link from leaving the building and finding himself in downtown Tokyo.
Link is intrigued by the large number of Zonai contraptions in the street and structures which could only be built with Ultrahand and Autobuild. "Perhaps this is Hyrule some time in the past or future or other advanced society all together," wondered Link. Trying not to get distracted, he ran towards the tallest of the buildings, dodging people and vehicles as he crossed the street. Scaling the side of the tower, the Master Sword glows more intensely. Climbing higher, the sword actually began to dim. The source of whatever evil this is must be on the floor below. Link climbed down and smashed through the glass. Right in front of him lay a horrible humanoid monster. Link charged forward but it disintegrated into ash without him even touching it. It dropped no monster parts, only a book.
Clearly this was actually a monster as the Master Sword dimmed slightly, yet it still glowed. There must be more. Leaving the small room he was in, Link walked into a grand hall with yet another monster as well as a group of very frightened and confused looking people. Although they do not look to be scared of said monster, but instead worrying about the man on the ground with them. Even the monster looked shocked! Link one-shotted the monster from behind, which again dropped only a book, and rushed to help the man in pain. The group began yelling at him in Japanese, which Link ignored. The man seemed to be having a heart attack, yet no-one was doing CPR. Link, pushing some guy crying over him, began chest compressions, even hearing a rib crack, a sign that you're doing it right. (no really it's true cracking ribs means ur putting enough pressure. take cracked ribs over dieing any day) The guards from the lab bust into the room, guns drawn, yapping as usual. Link kept performing CPR until one of his fairies flew out of his pouch and into the man, reviving him. The CPR ended up being useless, but Link saved his life by having fairies on him. The man shot up and was quite shaken.
All the following dialogue is in Japanese:
"Everyone careful now! This thing came from another dimension! She is very dangerous! Y'all need to step away and let us handle this!" one of the guards ordered.
"Thank you, but I think we'll take care of him," said the man in a monotone voice.
"I really don't think that's a good idea sir."
"Please take your leave, you may stress it out. We are going to try to establish communication."
"L's dumb fucking ideas are gonna get us all killed," mumbled the guard as they left.
"Don't you think we have enough to deal with?" asked another person in the group.
"A lot has happened, we all need to calm down and think. Also Light has left us by the way," said L calmly.
"Ok so Light's gone, Rem killed herself by killing Watari and failing to kill you, and this extradimensional Napoleon femboy comes out nowhere and fucking kills Ryuk and overrides the power of the Death Note!" exclaims Touta Matsuda, confused.
"Someone get this guy on Misa's old floor, the rest of you try to locate Light and Misa. I gotta redownload the Death Note experiment logs," said L. (remember all the data got wiped from the computer)
Data Abstract: After discovery by the INTERPOL Kira Investigation Taskforce, the "Death Note" was sent to forensic analysis. Eventually however, the Japanese government decided to experiment on the Death Note to learn about how it works and if it could shed light on any fundamental physics. A family of elementary particles now known as admin particles were discovered that create, deliver, and execute console commands. (please note that "console commands" are just a useful analogy to understand what is happening. This is not confirmation that this is a simulated world) It was later discovered that a certain type of admin particle (now called the transdimensional packet) can exist in multiple realities at the same time at the same admin coordinates. (The admin coordinates are centered on the Earth' core, seemingly violating the Copernican principle.) By doing a bunch of technical shit that I'm too tired to figure out/explain, (u get the gist of how it could be possible) the Japanese were able to create a portal to the shinigami realm to meet the shinigami. However, when they tried to open the portal, it opened to a different world instead, and the portal would not close. Luckily the atmospheric composition and pressure and gravity of the other world are the same so there were no catastrophic effects. Then this overpowered twink comes through acting very strange and just busts through the doors and goes into the streets of Tokyo.
Later, in Misa's old floor, L and Link attempt to learn each other's languages or at least develop a basic pidgin. Over the next few hours they learn that body language and non-verbal cues (head nodding/shaking, thumbs up/down etc) are practically the same between them. They are however interrupted by troubling news.
"Misa, I'm at the rendezvous point," said Light to Misa on a secure line "I've rallied Alpha squad, where are you with Bravo?" "Oh I forgot my second phone I had to turn back to get it but I should be there in like 30 minutes uwu xoxo!" said Misa cheerfully." A few hours later, the Kiraists, as they call themselves, were ready to march on Tokyo. Wearing a large hooded cloak, Light and his militants surrounded the national Diet building. "Dietsmen, I give you a choice to either pass the bills I have right here, or perish. By divine providence, I have been granted the ability to kill anyone I imagine. I will use this gift to purge the world of all evil, including those that dare stand in my way. I am the almighty Kira of Earth!" declared Light over a loudspeaker. His troops then fired into the air. "To prove I mean business, I have a list of those who voted for Act No. 13 of 2007 to grant INTERPOL with additional resources to find me. They shall die in 45 seconds." Light occupied the Diet with no resistance. Upon hearing the commotion at the Diet, the Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, and his entourage attempted to evacuate the Kantei, but was intercepted by a roadblock. "Attempting to escape are we? If you had any good in you you'd've stayed out and hail me! You have shown there is evil in your soul, thus I think you know what shall come." - Light's message to Shinzo Abe after hearing of his capture. With the Diet in his hands, Light began work reorganizing Japan's government, legitimizing his rule, and consolidating his power. Many in the military wanted to stop this, but they knew it would be futile. Or would it?
"People of Japan, hide your identities, change your name, wear a mask! Kira needs your face and name to kill you! This is an official message from what is left of the Kira Investigation Taskforce." said L in an emergency address to the nation. "I can't get a hold of anyone! Light must've killed them already. Unless they had the foresight to have been using fake names this entire time, which I doubt. I hope I'm wrong though, I can't handle losing any more friends. I really thought for a moment Light was a good person and that I was wrong about him. His manipulation and acting is unmatched," L thought to himself. He took a deep breath and approached Link. "I know you can't understand what I am saying, mystery man, but I think your arrival here was no accident. I never really believed in fate, but the past few months have proved its existence." "HYAT!" replied Link. It was then when several explosions rocked the tower followed by the distinct sound of supersonic jets flying by. Fire quickly spread throughout the taskforce headquarters as the steel beams holding it up creaked and buckled. Link grabbed hold of L as large quantities of dust fell from the cracking ceiling and gravity seemed to shift. No, the gravity was the same, the angle of the floor was changing! Link ran up the floor but as it continued to tilt, Link slipped in that annoying way that happens in Botw/Totk. (if you played those game you know what I'm talking about.) Link, carrying L, had no choice but to jump down through the side of the building, paraglide down, and hopefully not get crushed by the building falling on them. L closes his eyes. They fell towards the ground. Link, knowing a normal human could not take the g-forces of switching to the paraglider like he could, threw L upwards as the just the right time and speed to allow L to land "safely" as Link pulled out his paraglider before landing on the ground negating all fall damage for him. L upon hitting the ground at the reduced speed thanks to Link, only broke a few bones, he cried out in pain, but Link knew a hearty durian meal would heal it. Now he had to deal with thousands of tons of steel, concrete, and glass about to fall on them. Link took out his shield, and right as the first bit of debris hit it, he parried as if he was parrying a Lynel charge or a Stone Talus rock throw. (someone calculated that in the latter circumstance, Link was able to create a force of nearly 12 million newtons.) The section of the building about to hit them had been pulverized, though the rest had hit into surrounding buildings, causing extra devastation. Link fed L some of his healing food. It would take longer to have an effect as it only works near instantly for Link. He then tried to search the rubble for survivors. Link pulled dozens out of the rubble, fed them, and even have a fairy pop on one. Then, he brought them all together where L was.
Sirens could be heard in the distance, it seems not all in the Japanese government were aware that this was an intentional attack by their new dictator. Ambulances and medics (not para cause they actually have state healthcare) had arrived on scene. Link was worried at first, but L signals to him they they were good. Link began taking the victims to the medics for treatment and transport, that is until the police showed up. They had orders to kill any task force members that survived, namely L who Light still didn't know the name of. Upon seeing L among the group of survivors, they opened fire. Link did not want to kill fellow human beings. Sure he was a warrior, but he only fought against monsters. Humans had always been the good guys for him. As there were only four cops for now, Link attempted to defeat them non-lethally. He jumped into the line of fire shield ready, and parried the bullets but making sure they either missed or hit a limb. Using the opportunity provided by the enemy's shock and confusion, Link charged towards them and snatched their guns, but then they pulled out tasers! Elemental attacks, especially electric ones, were Link's only real weakness! He got hit by one taser before he could change into his rubber armor, which sacrifices damage resistance for electrical resistance, but it is still pretty damage resistant at high levels, which Link has since he beat the game two months ago. He doesn't have the thunder helm however as he had to give it back. While the last three of the taser shots did nothing, the first dealt knockback and made him unable to act for a few seconds. I'm that time the cops used their batons to get a few hits in on Link, but then switching back to normal armor, Link would whoop them in melee combat. He used his shield to parry the batons, knocking them out of their hands, which he then uses to knock them unconscious. Just in time as military reinforcements were coming down the road. Link grabbed L, who had just started to get up, as well as anyone else that would go along, and hopped the police car to drive to the portal room. In the car, L helped in healing some of the others that decided to tag along just to escape the situation, as Link floored it. The military vehicle noticed them and opened fire. Link, driving evasively, returned fire with the new guns he got as well as with bomb arrows. Luckily the lab was just around the corner. Making it, they then skedaddled out of the car and ran into the facility. Link closed the bent blast doors with his bare hands as the cop car exploded. The guards asked L about what was going on up there. It seems Light didn't know about the secret portal project and the guards were completely unaware of what was going on or that they were supposed to take orders from Light now. L gave them a simple breakdown and showed them a news clip he saved. Link used his artificial raruru's hand to save the portal room as a schematic so he can copy and paste one in Hyrule using pure zonite. Some of the randos they picked up were reluctant to go through, but with the Japanese army starting to break through some of the blast doors, they changed their minds. The guards, researchers, people who got their house crushed, Link, and L all went through the portal to Hyrule.
