In the caverns deep below the land of the Mushroom Kingdom Bowser, King of the Koopas sought an artifact of great power. It is said that this artifact was capable of great power but it was lost to the ages and has never been found since. This artifact was called the Convergence Crystal, a artifact that can bring prosperity and good fortune, or desirable consequences by the being who is capable of wielding and controlling its power.
"DAD!" called out a small Koopa child. This small Koopa child ran to the king. He resembled the koopa lord tremendously with the addition of a clown faced bib beneath his chin. This was the heir to Bowser, Bowser Jr. "What is it, my son?" Bowser asked. "Why do we have to be here?!" Bowser Jr. spazzed out, "Can't we go home so I can play my video games?! "Now now Bowser Jr., calm yourself," Bowser calmly said with his deep menacing yet respectful voice, "We are in the middle of something important."
Koopa Troopas walked past the Koopa lords carrying broken slanted stone. Bowser led Bowser Jr. through the cavern as they witnessed many Koopa Troopas mining the walls down with pickaxes. Another Koopa approached the Koopa lords. This one had bright blue hair resembling that of a classical artist. He spoke with a slightly deep english accent, "Me lord, the operations are proceeding as scheduled." "Excellent Ludwig. Ensure the Koopas continue their work my son," Bowser said. "Very well Lord Bowser. May I ask what happens when we find the Convergence Crystal?" Ludwig asked.
"Convergence Crystal?" Bowser Jr. asked, "What's that papa?" "Please, follow me, you two," Bowser said. Bowser continued forward. Bowser Jr. and Ludwig glanced at each other and then immediately turned to follow their father.
In the end of the cavern Kamek, Bowser's right hand Koopa in his blue robe and cap indicating his status as Bowser's loyal mage, hovered over the floor and waved his wand like a staff. "Move it you turtles! We cannot disappoint Lord Bowser!" he said with his raspy senile voice.
Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Ludwig approached him. Kamek hovered towards them and saluted his Koopa superior. "L-Lord Bowser!" he exclaimed. "How close are we, Kamek?" Bowser asked. "It should be any day now! We'll find that crystal!" Kamek frantically said. "Papa! You haven't explained what the Convergence Crystal is!" Bowser Jr. complained. "That's because you brat we aren't entirely sure of what it does!" Kamek yelled. "Nonsense Kamek!" Bowser roared. "Eep!" Kamek exclaimed. "HAH HAH!" Bowser Jr. laughed. "The Convergence Crystal holds unfathomable power. With it I'll finally be able to destroy that plumber!" Bowser yelled. "Sir, with all due respect, we still do not have it," Ludwig said. "Not yet, but soon," Bowser said.
Bowser walked to the wall of the cavern. His fist tightened which made it sound like rubbing sandpaper. The Koopa Troopas mining suddenly halted as they witnessed their king lift his fist high and mighty. Suddenly the fist swooped with great motion as it collided with the wall, cracking it and making it crackle like fireworks. The wall fell into millions of pebbles as a great blinding light shined through without Bowser as he only smiled.
Once their eyes adjusted, Bowser Jr, Kamek, and Ludwig saw the discovery made by their king. "Finally! At long last!" Bowser exclaimed as he walked in. "Lord Bowser!" Kamek yelled as he along with Bowser Jr and Ludwig followed.
Bowser walked through the light with no struggle or care about his potential surroundings. His face merely showed a grin of relief that his long exasperation has finally been cured. He raised his hands as if he was awaiting the grasp of god. The light slowly dissipated and finally revealed a larger cavern behind the cavern. The cavern was lit by the glowing stalactites on the ceiling. Bowser showed his fangs as the center of the cavern was lit by a prominent light. A pedestal laid the gem of mysterious power. The Convergence Crystal.
Bowser Jr, Ludwig and Kamek had escaped the light and found the Koopa King walking to the light. "L-Lord Bowser," Kamek frantically said, "Is it wise to take it out now? Perhaps we should investigate and research it." "The Magikoopa is correct papa. It could be dangerous to use now, and honestly I don't want junior to take over yet," Ludwig said. "Hey! I'd be a great leader! I say go for it Papa!" Bowser Jr. said.
Bowser arrived by the pedestal and witnessed the beauty of the gem. Its shape was a quarter of a circle, and it glowed a radiant rainbow hue. Using both hands he carefully grasped the gem and raised it into the air. He smiled confidently as the light reflected off his hands.
"WITH THIS WE SHALL FINALLY TAKE OVER THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM!" he yelled. His yell echoed loudly through the cavern for a few minutes as his volume was that great.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance," said another voice that was deep, menacing, and radiant.
Bowser's smile slowly faded. His eye brows smoothly decreased to show his fuming face as the pupils of his eyes turned smaller. He slowly turned around and found someone else there. He was nearly as tall as the Koopa lord. He wore rough royal-like clothes. His skin was a darkish-green. His nose was pointed and anyone taking a first look would believe he used a pencil sharpener to sharpen his nose. He wore a gemmed headband. His hair and eyebrows were and his eyebrows blended through his hair.
"Who are you?! I demand you to tell me!" Bowser exclaimed. This being merely gave him a smile. "Kamek! Deal with this intruder!" Bowser ordered. Kamek hovered higher into the air and waved his wand, "With pleasure."
Kamek waved his wand and launched out a beam of squares and circles. The intruder raised his hand forward and blocked the attack. "Is that you have?" he asked with a smile. "You'd wish!" Kamek yelled. Kamek spun around and surrounded the being in a ring. Kamek then disappeared through a puff of smoke. He reappeared but now with a red, white, and green version of himself. The three Kameks launched beams at the intruder.
The intruder extended his arms and summoned a barrier around himself which blocked the attacks from the Kameks. The intruder bent his arms and the barrier deflated and then he quickly expanded the barrier like a balloon sending out a wave of energy that knocked the Kameks back into one.
"What the?!" Kamek exclaimed. The intruder summoned energy in his palm and threw an orb of dark energy that smacked Kamek. "AH!" Kamek screamed as he was knocked into a wall and knocked out.
"RARGHH!" Bowser roared. Bowser's mouth lit up with flames launching out. The intruder extended both arms and released his palms as he created a barrier to stop the flames in front of him. "RAAAAAGH!" Bowser roared. Bowser continued to release the fury of his flames.
"You believe your power can defeat me?!" the intruder said.
The intruder swung his arms and jumped backwards, avoiding the flames. The intruder then summoned a shadow orb of energy in his palm and threw it towards Bowser.
"Papa!" Ludwig yelled. Ludwig pulled out a wand similar to Kamek's and waved it and launched a beam that collided with the shadow orb.
"Hey!" Bowser Jr. yelled. "What?!" the intruder exclaimed.
Bowser Jr rolled in with his clown car at full speed. He spun around quickly and a cannon appeared from the mouth of the clown and he launched a cannonball towards the intruder. The intruder quickly stretched an arm towards his back and summoned a big sword that sliced the cannonball clean in half. Then Bowser appeared and slashed the intruder and launched him backwards.
"Impressive," the intruder said with a small smile.
The intruder released his fists and energy flamed throughout his entire body creating an aura of darkness.
"But it's not enough!" he yelled.
He charged towards the three Koopas. Ludwig spun and waved a beam at the intruder but he broke through and smacked Ludwig back.
"AH!" Bowser Jr yelled as he scrambled to look for items in his car.
Bowser Jr tossed all kinds of items such as mushrooms, rubber ducks, a bike horn, and others but it was too late as his clown car was smacked by the intruder and it fell to the side.
"Bring it on," Bowser said as his nose puffed out smoke.
Bowser held out his arms and caught the intruder as he pushed Bowser backwards but Bowser maintained his stance.
"RARGH!" Bowser yelled as he launched out more flames from his breath.
The intruder continued using his power to launch Bowser back but Bowser had used his weight and power to keep from being pushed back.
"This is my power! I will rule this world!" Bowser yelled.
Bowser blasted more fire but the intruder was unphased by this. Without noticing, Bowser realized the intruder was charging up energy in his palm. It was then that the intruder released a shockwave that blasted Bowser backwards. Bowser rolled around fiercely and pierced the ground with his claws that made a loud scratch. Bowser caught himself just as he hit the wall. He shook his head and puffed out more smoke from his flailing nostrils.
The intruder slowly approached him. "Koopa King," he said.
The intruder raised his sword but Bowser kept his fierce stance and sight, although in mind he prepared for what's to come. Then the intruder swung his sword and in Bowser's eye his own life flashed into darkness. When Bowser opened his eyes he found he was still living and that the intruder has pierced his sword into the ground.
"You have done well to pass your test," he said as he faced his swooshing cape at him. "Test?! What test?!" Bowser exclaimed. "You have proven you have what it takes to join me! To join us!" he said. "What are you talking about?" Bowser asked.
The intruder walked forward and turned around with his cape still hovering with the air. He raised his fist with power.
"To become a part of something bigger! To claim the universe as our own!" he said. "Go on," an intrigued Bowser said. "Higher powers have informed me that there are worlds beyond our normal grasp. Powers beyond the ones confined to our homes. With these powers we can cleanse the universe and reforge it as our own," he said. "Power beyond our own?" Bowser asked. "Indeed. You are but among the allies I have already made. With your addition of your strength and brutality we can accomplish this task," the intruder said.
Bowser thought to himself for a moment. The idea of not just conquering the universe, but remaking it in his own image began to sound appealing.
"You want to make an army?" Bowser asked. "I already have an army," he said, "All I require is my generals. They who shall report to me and my masters." "Your masters?" Bowser questioned. "The higher powers that gave me such visions of glory. You will meet them should you agree to my proposal," he said. "Hm," Bowser growled.
Bowser turned around and walked a few steps forward. He then held up the Convergence Crystal and realized the power was naught. In the meantime Kamek shook his head and hovered up. Kamek waved his wand around and began charging up energy.
"That's enough Kamek," Bowser said. "What?!" Kamek exclaimed as he released the energy from his wand and he had diverted it into the cavern's wall. "L-Lord Bowser, w-with all due respect-!" Kamek said. "I said enough Kamek!" Bowser furiously said. "Eep," Kamek said as he stepped back. "I have made a decision," Bowser said.
Bowser walked out the way he had entered this cavern. Outside the entrance he found his Koopas waiting for him. They all stared silently at him with a few simultaneous blinks.
"Koopas! Today shall be the day the Mushroom Kingdom knows the full might of the Koopas!" Bowser yelled.
YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!
"With our new friend those blasted plumbers won't know what will hit them! Soon not only will this world be ours, but soon the universe!" Bowser yelled.
BOWSER! BOWSER! BOWSER!
"Yeah! Tonight we march down to the Mushroom Kingdom!" Bowser yelled.
The Koopas kept cheering as they simultaneously tapped their spears to the floor. The intruder walked alongside Bowser.
"This world will be the first to realize our true power. Are your Koopas solely capable?" the intruder asked. "They'll manage, but those plumbers, they'll be the real problem," Bowser said. "They won't be for long. Just put on a show," the intruder said. "Oh, I plan to. Mario and Luigi have been a thorn at my side for far too long. Soon they will be defeated once and for all!" Bowser yelled.
With the Koopa King and his newest alliance in place, the universe as they know it will change forever.
