Earlier, when Yang decided to "rescue" her little sister from Sasuke's metaphorical claws and convince this Blake to join them, she didn't expect that this attempt to create an escape would turn out to be so...boring.
All they were doing was walking around and getting to know Beacon, where her attempts to make conversation resulted in nothing.
This is not going anywhere. Yang wanted to yawn, bored with this walk. And the worst of it is that they are not even trying.
In Ruby's case, the girl was visibly intimidated by Blake's indifference, although this result could also be due to the difficulty in communicating that had always been present and for that Yang felt guilty.
Scaring and beating people who made Ruby feel remotely bad was one of her hobbies...and the reason that resulted in that conflict earlier in the day.
A fight that neither of them could forget as long as they lived.
This Blake, on the other hand, was acting like that on purpose, Yang could tell.
After all, at that time, she had approached me willingly to give me a lecture. One that convinced her in trying to change her completely biased point of view about Sasuke. I have to talk to him, but that's not going to happen if these two don't come out of their shells and distract themselves at least a little.
Theoretically speaking.
Yang could simply go to Sasuke if she wanted to. The problem was that these two would probably do the same without hesitation because there was no reason not to do exactly that.
For that reason, they needed to talk, possibly about that guy, and focus on that to give her time to do whatever she wanted.
Unless they are hesitating or avoiding speaking because I'm with them, Yang cogitated, knowing that it could very well be the case. Ruby would never talk with another person about Sasuke and her feelings for him in front of me, knowing that it might end up in another discussion. Yang knew herself too well not to know the problems she had. And this Blake, she must be angry that she was suddenly pushed away from that guy. A stupid reason, Yang would say, but valid if her feelings were real. Damn, I wanted to hear some of what they have to say.
That's because, as much as it annoyed her, Blake definitely knew a thing or two about Sasuke unknown to them.
Then Yang could understand more about him and his motivations, which were certainly not limited to defeating an all-powerful woman from another world.
Sure, having someone that strong out there was reason enough, but Yang was skeptical that that was all.
Well, I guess there was no other way. Yang would have to find out what she needed on her own. When I meet that guy.
A decision that still stirred her in the worst way.
The mere thought of being alone with Sasuke made her nervous.
What would Yang do if he decided to do something against her?
Every encounter of them was there with offenses, accusations, and attempts of aggression to give him reason to resent her.
"I share your hostility and nothing else."
Those words spoken by him gave reason to fuel her fear and some kind of disappointment that she couldn't understand, but at the same time, there was also the offer of power to keep her optimistic.
Okay, Xiao Long, you can deal with this! Yang pushed all that negativity aside, trying not to torture herself with any more bad thoughts. He won't do anything! That son of a bitch needs Ruby and me!
Something hard to believe, but not as absurd as everything else that had happened in the last two days.
By this point, their tour had reached the refectory and Yang would take advantage of this opportunity.
"So, who's hungry?" she asked suddenly and the way the two of them look at her made her regret it. Boy, are they not happy. It must be because Yang was the cause for them being there and not with their beloved Sasuke. "Hmm, why don't you guys find a table while I go to the bathroom?"
Ruby and Blake continued to stare at this girl until her smile faltered at this clear attempt to part with them.
"Fine," Blake spoke up before Ruby could, deciding to help this blonde with her poorly devised plan. Sasuke will chew her up and spit her out alive. An experience she knew all too well. "Take your time."
Ruby thought about saying something to her traitorous sister who was running away from this torturous situation, but maybe this was just the perfect opportunity to finally talk to Blake without worrying about starting a fight with Yang by bringing up Sasuke.
"I'll save some cookies for you," she told the most well-known lie among their family, not intending to leave anything on the tray. That's if there are cookies around here.
A discouraging possibility.
"Thanks, sis," Yang smiled at something so familiar to prove that the little sister she loves so much was still there. Let's make sure it stays that way.
By confronting Sasuke at any cost.
With Yang's cue for her potentially suicidal mission, Ruby and Blake took a seat at the nearest table, soon having that uncomfortable silence return to create an awkward atmosphere.
This can't go on like this! Ruby decided, or walking away from Sasuke would have been for nothing! "I'm Ruby Rose, nice to meet you!"
Blake raised an eyebrow, surprised by this introduction as unnecessary as it was loud.
Unless she wanted everyone around to hear it. Which should be a no, considering her blush at this exaggeration, Blake noted. And to think that it was someone like that who gained Sasuke's interest...
There was no judgment from her side, however, it was inevitable to question the choice made, especially when Sasuke didn't consider Blake as a potential ally in their first meeting, no matter how complicated the circumstances were.
So it was only natural that Blake would try to find what made this Ruby special, silently watching to learn more about her all the way to where they were now.
Aside from her naivety and the fact that this girl had entered Beacon two years earlier than usual, Blake saw nothing much in her, but that was only on the surface.
There was no telling what was hiding behind those silver eyes.
Appearances could be deceiving, Sasuke was there to prove it.
"You're not very good with this, are you?" Blake could tell with this much since she wasn't necessarily sociable either. "I'm Blake Belladonna, but you already know that, just as I knew your name."
So introductions were unnecessary at that point.
"Yes..." Ruby didn't fail to notice the similarity to when she spoke with Weiss earlier. "Still, it's a pleasure to formally get to know you."
There was a friendly smile to accompany her words and the outstretching of her hand, only for what she feared most to happen by being left in a vacuum.
"A pleasure, you say." Blake disregarded the handshake, wanting to test if this wasn't all an act or if this girl was really that naive. "Even though we are enemies?"
A very strong word to use, but necessary.
"E-enemies?" Ruby had a sudden wave of nervousness filling her, realizing that this girl was more intense and direct than Weiss! "D-Don't you mean, like, rivals?"
After all, that was the worst that their relationship should be since they would have to work together!
"Rivals? For what, exactly?" Blake pretended not to understand, looking for a different reaction. If it had been Weiss or even that Yang, hostility would have been present in a heartbeat, but this Ruby...
Life had taught Blake many things growing up, and being able to distinguish between good and evil was one of them.
A necessity for any faunus in this world, especially girls.
So she knew that Sasuke, despite everything, wasn't like Adam.
There might have been evil in him, but there was a rational mind behind those emotions, able to understand the weight of his actions.
This Ruby, as Blake had imagined being the case since she first saw her on top of that building, had the emotional maturity of a twelve-year-old girl who had just discovered her first love.
She would know because she had been like that with Adam.
"Y-You know." Ruby looked away, blushing. This is so embarrassing! Playing with her fingers, she timidly whispered the reason, "S-Sasuke?"
If only one girl could become his girlfriend, then they were rivals, right?
At least, that was how she saw the situation, where the word enemy sounded more like they were bound to fight violently for him.
If it was, in which case Ruby didn't know what to do, only that she didn't want to lose.
No matter what.
This is quite nostalgic. Blake had a shallow smile, for being able to hear the heartbeat of this embarrassed girl and remember when everything seemed to be simpler, but couldn't have been more complicated. Ruby would have to learn about that at some point too, especially for having feelings for someone like Sasuke. "I liked what you did with that cloak."
While she would have to learn, hopefully, it wouldn't be anytime soon and not by her hands.
"Eh?" Ruby hadn't expected this more than abrupt change of topic, being taken by surprise. "Hmm, really?" Blake nodded to her and there was a sense of pride in what she did and suddenly any insecurity disappeared to give way to her enthusiasm! "I spent all morning adapting the base, the sleeves, and the measurements to fit my size, and all this using only pleats!"
And so an excessive explanation of advanced styling techniques began to have Blake almost speechless.
"I see," she managed to say, wanting to praise this girl's knowledge of something that although trivial was nonetheless useful. "That way, you haven't damaged the fabric with seams and this dress can go back to being Sasuke's cloak at any time."
"Yes!" Ruby smiled because Blake understood her motives. "I made it just in case of...you know."
If Sasuke wanted to use his Moonlight Shadow identity again, he could.
"Hn," Blake nodded, respecting this care and consideration for something so precious, slowly believing that Sasuke made a good choice. In entrusting the cloak to her.
As for being a fighting force, that still needed to be defined, but Sasuke wasn't dumb and should already be aware of her capabilities.
She certainly is fast. Earlier, this girl was able to get past Weiss and her so fast that neither of them could even react. Besides being pure in an amusing way. That truth brought to life a smile on her lips. "If Sasuke wanted that cloak now, what would you be dressed with?"
Ruby's eyes widened, blushing at being reminded of this absurdly important detail!
"I-I have more clothes underneath!" she said, almost panicking that this was not the case at all! I need to put a sweater underneath!
As soon as possible, she was sure of it!
Then Blake said something that made her stop in her train of thought, almost reconsidering.
"Good, because you can't tell how Sasuke would react to a girl as cute as you standing half-naked in front of him~" Blake teased even more, just to see how she would react and what she got in return wasn't quite what she expected.
"Y-You think so?!" Ruby almost jumped out of her chair, wanting to make sure she hadn't heard that wrong! "That he would find me...attractive?" Inevitably, all that excitement diminished with what she thought of herself. "Even when I'm not pretty like Weiss or feminine like you?"
Oh, Blake could see more of this girl's side now; one that would hardly show with that blonde being around. She really has the mentality of a pre-teen.
This doubt and insecurity was something that almost every girl had experienced or would experience at some point; a phase.
"Don't worry," Blake would say what she herself wishes she had heard when she was the same mental age. Her body isn't bad at all, being similar to Weiss in her measurements, which might not be much considering the sister she has. Which might have been the source of her insecurity. After all, growing up in someone else's shadow could have that kind of effect. Sometimes it was even worse. "You are beautiful and feminine within the right measure for your age."
Ruby didn't know if this was a good thing or not, but she could tell Blake was being sincere even when she didn't need to be and it made her feel better.
"Thank you..." Ruby shyly thanked her, for this girl not being bad like she had imagined, and realized that maybe all the girls Sasuke was recruiting were good at heart, including Yang to some extent. "I'm glad that a girl like you loves Sasuke too."
So, should she lose, she knew that he would be with someone good at more than just looks.
Not that Ruby intended to let that happen.
Definitely an unexpected turn for this conversation, leaving Blake without action for a second.
"Love?" Unfortunately, she couldn't hide her facial change as she decided to give her opinion on something that inevitably referred to Adam in her mind. "I think that's too strong of a word to define how I feel about Sasuke." There were noticeable differences between those feelings, in a way that even she didn't fully understand, but she would at least try to clarify for this girl. "I would say that I feel...attracted to him," a lot, to the point of wanting to do everything and a little more with him, but she didn't need to explain that. "Something that might imply that I like him."
Love was different, and Blake didn't know if she was ready to open her heart completely a second time.
At least, not yet.
"Like and love are that different?" Ruby had never thought about it, she never needed to. So do I love or like Sasuke?
She didn't know, only that it was important.
"Like and Love. despise and hate. They are words to define the level of emotion you have for something or someone," Blake shared a piece of her mind on the matter, but this girl seemed to be having a hard time understanding that. "For example, how much do you like cookies?"
"A lot! Like, way too much!" Ruby didn't even think twice about confirming, being almost crazy about those little chocolatey sweets! In fact, if it weren't for this conversation or Sasuke, I would be looking for some right now!
That was the level of her love, or addiction, for all she cares.
"What about your sister?" Blake asked right away, snapping this girl out of her sugary reveries. "Do you love her or like her?"
"Yang?" Ruby stopped to think about this overprotective sister of hers, always present in her life, whether I like it or not. "She...did some bad things behind my back in the past and we had a fight over it." Now, Ruby was glad Yang wasn't around, or she would have been unable to open up that way. "Only, everything she did, no matter how bad, was with the intention of protecting me." Something that couldn't be changed, but was justified. "That's why, as much as I didn't like what she did, I don't hate her for it." A bad decision could hardly override a lifetime of good memories. "I...love her, and so I love my father and uncle, and especially Zwei!"
The little corg never did anything to hurt her. Quite the contrary, he was always there to cheer her up, no matter what!
As for Blake, she listened to everything in silence, avoiding sharing her opinion because she didn't know the circumstances of this supposed fight and what this Yang did to make a girl like this angry.
However, such emotions were necessary for someone to truly grow as a person.
Unfortunately, Sasuke also had a long way ahead of him when his emotions tied to that absurd Aura of his came up to remind them of that.
"Sasuke?!" Ruby knocked over her chair as she stood up and didn't even think twice before running off in the direction of his Aura. What happened now?!
She was afraid to imagine the reason in the form of her sister who had not yet returned and that was enough to make Ruby disregard any kind of rule and use her Semblance inside the school!
Blake, on the other hand, although she was sure she felt Sasuke's Aura first, this girl was able to act even more instinctively than she did.
"Well, I guess you have your answer, Ruby Rose," Blake said to no one's ears as she watched the girl turn into red petals and disappear from her vision, before following her. Just like I have mine.
While love was definitely not what she felt, that was only valid for the moment.
No one knew tomorrow, and as much as she might end up breaking this girl's delicate heart like a flower, Blake had no intention of giving up.
If she could overcome her past and move on, Ruby could too.
After leaving her sister and that resentful girl, Yang made her way through the halls of Beacon with only one goal that made her heart dance in her chest with anxiety.
Every time she saw a girl all dreamy in her path, Yang knew where to go next and so she did, even if it meant coming face to face with her greatest fear in this world.
Uchiha Sasuke might be a sinful delight to the eye, but to the heart, he wasn't much better than the claws of an Ursa.
Of that Yang knew better than anyone.
However, it was also undeniable that the bastard could be like the embrace of a loving mother.
A contradiction that hardly even made sense.
It only served to prove that Sasuke, despite being from another world, was still human.
Lost in thought, it wasn't long before Yang found her living nightmare, far enough away from the refectory and in the company of someone unexpected... or expected?
The little princess wasted no time. Yang hid at the entrance to the locker rooms, watching from afar Sasuke, Weiss, and that stupid-looking guy who threw up right after he came down from the Bullhead. Looks like she has an admirer.
Something that wasn't surprising at all, since the girl really looked like a princess.
Not that I'm going to admit that. Yang was too hard-headed to go back on her words, most of the time. At least that means she has a chance of taming Sasuke.
One that would never materialize, considering what just happened before her.
That Uchiha bastard! Yang was biting with rage because he had just embraced that girl by declaring that she belonged to him! That bitch in white doesn't help either for letting herself be seduced so easily!
It should have been the other way around!
With that, it seemed that the bastard had just successfully added the first member of his harem.
That is if Blake is not already one. Yang wasn't blind to the hot look that girl had every time she looked at him. If not, I doubt that Sasuke would need much to have her too.
That would leave only Ruby on that list and maybe...herself.
Don't be stupid, Xiao Long! Yang needs to wake up and get these absurd ideas out of her mind! This guy is only playing with them, to use them!
This fact showed true in the way he was treating this Jaune as if he were trash!
Then, after Weiss left, it happened.
The aura that gave reason for her fears, returned in the worst way to squeeze her uneasy heart.
For a moment, Yang considered this Jaune to be a dead man.
Fortunately, nothing happened and there was a reminder to never call Sasuke a brother, raising questions about it all.
This guy has or had a brother, Yang didn't know what to think about it, only that it was a delicate subject and should be avoided. I just hope I don't have to meet another Uchiha in this life.
One was already too much for her and this world.
After this alarm, Sasuke calmed down, to Yang's relief, and began to instruct this Jaune on how to be like him.
A complete waste of time but whose outcome could be catastrophic depending on what Sasuke does.
Luckily, aside from unlocking the Aura of this Jaune, who certainly faked his way into Beacon, because it wasn't possible to get to this academy without even knowing what Aura was, there was no offer of power and only some nonsense was said to get this blonde all hopeful.
Then the moment came, with Sasuke turning his back on that guy and coming straight to her with all the indifference in the world.
Now it's all or nothing, Yang took a deep breath to gather all the courage she didn't have, preparing herself for the fight of her life. No matter what happens, I have to ensure Ruby's safety!
Sasuke had just dealt with a problem while approaching this other headache, however, preferring to focus on his Scroll in hand.
"Yang Xiao Long," he acknowledged her existence but avoided looking at her. "I see that you have succeeded in keeping Ruby away from me."
"Uchiha Sasuke," Yang responded to that greeting, in the same manner, trying her best to remain composed and avoid showing the fear that inevitably existed within her at a moment like this. "Did you have fun creating a mini version of yourself?"
Bold words whose tone showed the existing nervousness.
"I only helped because of his potential," Sasuke would elaborate on this much of his actions, to appease and change the focus of what was leaving this girl on edge. "It may not seem like it, but he has the biggest Aura reserve I've seen so far."
Which, honestly, wasn't really that much.
For Yang, however, it meant a lot.
"S-seriously?!" Yang didn't want to believe it, but even if she hated to admit it, this bastard had no reason to lie about something like that. "If that's really true, then you will..."
"No," Sasuke didn't let her finish, already knowing what she was getting at and denying such a possibility. "All the Aura in the world is worthless if he doesn't know how to use it, and I don't have time to waste teaching someone from scratch."
The time he had was too indefinite and uncertain to risk.
"Are you sure that's the reason?" Yang wouldn't fall for it, seeing another reason for this decision. "Or is it because he doesn't have the parts you like?"
The stopping of Sasuke's hands on his Scroll indicated that she finally had his attention, and being stared at by those incompatible eyes made her shudder.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Sasuke knew exactly what she meant, but he wanted to see her have the courage to state such nonsense out loud. Or will you finally crumble?
For a moment, that seemed to be the case, but like the image of someone persistent, she clenched her fists and stood her ground.
"That I know what game you are playing, Uchiha." Yang was afraid of those strange eyes, so much so that her whole body was fighting against her will to stay where she was and screaming to run away. No! I can't retreat now!
Not after having gathered the courage to get to where she was!
The whole scene that this Uchiha did in seducing that little princess was there to motivate her to stay because it could have been Ruby and that wasn't allowed to happen!
"Is that so?" Sasuke didn't expect her to be able to keep her ground before him, acknowledging her determination. Increasing how useful she might be. After all, if she crumbled with that bit of intimidation, what would happen when she stood before Kaguya? Even Sakura froze in the presence of that divine woman. Not that his former teammate was much, but she was definitely more than these girls, so the possibility of the same thing happening again was there, and Sasuke would need to work on that to prepare them better. For now, however, Sasuke would put Yang to use for something different. "In that case, do you know where I can get the key to this door?"
Yang floated for a second, not even able to get startled by Sasuke's sudden approach to show her his Scroll and the game he was playing.
"That? You need to go to..." she spoke without thinking and stopped as she noticed that there was something wrong in all this, immediately suppressing the urge to grab that damn Scroll from his hands and throw it as far away as she could! "That's not what I'm talking about!"
While she knew everything about this stupid game, it didn't matter now!
Was she the only one taking this conversation seriously?! To the point that she was prepared to die?!
Yes, if the expression of disappointment that Sasuke made was an answer; one that made Yang feel like an idiot for being afraid of someone like that.
Sasuke said nothing, cogitating whether to threaten her to give him the answer she surely knew or keep trying on his own, but Yang seemed to have gained a sudden surge of confidence to insist on the same old nonsense.
"About toying with Ruby and Weiss!" she clarified, biting herself with the urge to punch this bastard's pretty face! "I used to do the same thing before, so don't try to deny it!"
They were the same, Sasuke himself had admitted it in front of that police station!
"You mean you used to...toy with other girls?" he raised an eyebrow at the meaning of such a claim, looking at this girl with a pretentious attitude and coming to a conclusion. "That explains a few things."
Yang paused, considering what that was supposed to mean after hatefully feeling shy about this bastard's analytical gaze and blushing with anger.
However, just as she was about to snap at him and possibly die in the process, Sasuke diverted his attention from her to bring news that couldn't be worse at a time like this.
"The others are coming," he could feel the Aura of all the girls approaching and fast... for the standard of this world. "Weiss and Ruby will be here in a few seconds, Blake a little after."
Oh crap... Yang had forgotten about that! They must have felt his Aura just now!
Hardly anyone in the whole school hadn't, the difference was that Ruby and those other two girls could distinguish and track Sasuke because of the familiarity they had with him!
Not now! Yag hadn't even been able to get to the point she wanted to with Sasuke! Think fast, Xiao Long! She looked around and there was the door to the locker room and a crazy idea occurred to her. If this doesn't get him to kill me, hardly anything will. That is if she didn't kill herself first. "Quick, Come with me!"
Sasuke had his hand grabbed and pulled by Yang so suddenly that he didn't even have time to object, curious as to what her intention was.
What he didn't expect was to end up inside one of the lockers in the changing room... along with Yang.
"That was your big idea?" Sasuke was face to face with this girl, each being able to feel the other's breath and their bodies almost sticking together in this absurdly tight place. "This is ridiculous, I won't submit myself to..." he couldn't finish letting his dissatisfaction be known, being interrupted by another act of audacity from this Yang who covered his mouth with her hand. She wants to die, doesn't she?
She had to, for nothing could justify this nonsense and slowly the new Mark on his neck responded to his indignation.
"Shhhh!" Yang signaled him to be quiet, knowing full well that this could result in her death, but it would still be better than being caught by her sister, alone with her first love inside a fucking locker! That's the kind of thing that would make her hate me forever!
Unexpectedly, Sasuke decided to cooperate with her when more than one familiar presence arrived outside.
"Better to hide your Aura to the extreme," he took that hand of him and suggested, having Yang's eyes widen in realization before closing them to do as she was told. I suppose it was good doing it too earlier.
A decision that needed to be kept in order not to turn this situation into an even bigger problem.
If Weiss, Ruby, and Blake saw him in this compromising position, there was no telling how they would react, especially since they had feelings for him.
Back in Konoha, the girls at the Academy almost killed themselves for him when they were just kids, so there was no telling what hormonal teenagers would do, and Sasuke would rather not even know.
In the worst-case scenario, he would lose their support and would have to...apologize to them.
The mere thought bothered him.
That way, Yang and Sasuke stood silently in each other's unwanted company while others searched for them outside.
Sorry guys, I had to go out of state to solve some problems and I couldn't post the chapter in the given time.
That's all for now, so don't forget to review, and if you want to support me and read ahead take a look at my P t r & on (slash) Bertoti
The next one comes out by the end of the month...I hope.
