Chapter one: Fairy Tail's Ace
Location; Fairy Tail guild hall
Year X777
Makarov entered the guild hall, a young, starry eyed Natsu behind him. "Whoa, so this is what a guild looks like." He then went around room looking at and touching everything that he could. His eyes landed on a mug sitting on a table, but he was to short to see what was in the mug.
"Man I'm thirsty, whelp bottoms up." Natsu grabbed the mug and was about to chug it down. But before he could, some one grabbed the back of his shirt, lifted him up, and took the mug out of his hands.
"Hey, what's the big Idea, I just wanted a drink." Natsu said while struggling to get out of the strangers grip. The person just chuckled and turned Natsu to face them. "Sorry kid but it doesn't matter how thirsty you are, you're not allowed to drink this, yet."
The person that was holding Natsu up was a young dark-skinned male that was a little taller then him and a year or two older. He had brown eyes, and black hair in an afro. He wore a blue shirt with a hood, black pants and shoes. He had bandages wrapped around his wrists and even though it was covered, his guild mark was on the right side of his chest.
"Who are you?" Natsu asked. The person chuckled and sat him back on his feet. "I'm Jasper, nice to meet you. What's your name?" The now named Jasper said, holding out his hand to shake. Natsu just stared at hand for a moment. "I'm Natsu." Natsu said with an awkward grin that mirror Jasper's.
"JASPER!" A voice shouted from behind Jasper, Natsu looked over Jasper's shoulder and saw another kid, same age as him, only wearing a pair of boxers, jumping at Jasper with a hammer made of ice.
"Look out!" Natsu yelled, Jasper looked back at the boy and pushed Natsu away. The newbie looked shocked as he saw the half-naked kid slam the hammer down, trying to hit Jasper with it. Jasper blocked the hit with his forearm, shattering the ice hammer. The boy landed on his feet and looked scared, he chuckled nervously looking up at Jasper who just looked disappointed.
"Gray, what did I tell you?" Jasper asked after he hit the now named Gray in the head with a chop, getting a small yelp out of the younger boy. "If you're gonna do a sneak attack, then you need to be quit." Jasper scolded the now grumbling Gray.
Natsu looked confused, Jasper looked back at him and smiled. "Anyways, welcome to Fairy Tail."
(Time Skip/ Present day)
Lucy and Mira were working in the guild's library when Lucy stumbled upon a photo album, Lucy was looking through it and saw a picture of everyone in the guild a few years ago. Everyone was crowded around a younger Natsu, who was riding a little blue dragon.
After Mira told the story behind the photo Lucy had a question to ask. "Hey, Mira?" "What is it Lucy?" "Who's that?" She asked, pointing to a spot in the photo where a young Mira was standing with a young Jasper who had his arm draped over a young Mira's shoulder. Mira, in the photo, was looking in the opposite direction with a bright red face.
Looking at the photo, Mira had a sad smile on her face, confusing Lucy. "That's Jasper." Mira said, her smile falling slightly, and tears forming in her eyes. "Mira, are you okay?" Lucy asked, worried that she might have upset her.
"I'm fine." Mira said as she wiped her eyes and stood up. "I have to go now, we'll just finish cleaning up tomorrow. See you later Lucy." Mira said as she walked out the room. Lucy just waved and looked back to the photo, still confused.
"What was that about? Who is that, and isn't that one Mira and Elfman's little sister? Why haven't I seen either of them around the guild hall?" Lucy thought.
Later, Lucy went up to her teammates, Natsu, Happy, Erza, And Grey. "Hey Lucy." "What's up Lucy." Natsu and Happy greeted her with beaming smiles. "I thought you were helping Mira in the library, what happened?" Grey asked not noticing that he was only in his boxers. "Grey, your clothes." Erza said, making Grey to jump.
Lucy sighed with a small smile at their antics. She then shook her head and showed them the photo. "Mira said she had to leave and that we'd finish up tomorrow." "So whatcha need Lucy?" Gray asked. "Oh yeah, can you guys tell me about these two." She then showed them the picture in the photo album. "When I asked Mira she just looked sad and said that she had to leave." Lucy said, watching her friends carefully to see their reactions.
Grey just looked down. Natsu had the same reaction as Grey except he was shaking slightly. Happy stopped smiling and flew off somewhere else. Erza's eyes widened and ran out the front door of the guild Hall.
Lucy was freaking out, she didn't know what happening, what did she do? "Uh guys, what's wrong?" Lucy asked looking between them. Lucy felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned to see that it belonged to Master Makarov. "Master Makarov, what's going on?" Lucy asked, afraid that she did something wrong.
"Lucy my dear, you didn't do anything wrong, but I believe you should just go home for now, they will be fine." Makarov said, easing the girls worries a little. Lucy took a second to look back at what she caused, she looked back to Makarov and nodded.
She walked out of the Hall, leaving Makarov to take care of the others. On her way home, Lucy was thinking about several different things, but one thought was on the forefront of her mind. "Where did Mira and Erza go?"
Location: Fairy Hills, Female apartments
Erza was standing in front of a door in the apartment building, She took a deep breath and opened the door. "Mira, are you in here? She said as she walked into the apartment.
"I right here, Erza." Mira said, getting Erza's attention. She turned the corner and Mira sitting on the couch, holding a ring in her hand. It was silver band with a ruby in the shape of their guild mark in the center. Mira was just looking at it with tears in her eyes. Erza requipped out of her armor, sat next to her friend, and wrapped her in a hug. They both began to cry and console eachother. After a few minutes of this, the two separated and whipped their eyes.
"Hey? Do you remember when he gave this to me?" Mira asked, rubbing her finger against the ring. Erza smiled slightly and chuckled. "Yes, how could I forget."
(Flash back)
A younger Grey and Natsu were head-butting eachother and throwing insults at eachother. Right before they were about to start throwing punches, Erza stepped in and stopped them as usual. "Now, I hope you two will stop this pointless bickering from now on, okay." Erza said getting nervous nods from Natsu and Grey who were hugging eachother in fear.
"Hey Erza, why don't we finish our business from yesterday." Mira said, taunting Erza. Erza grew a tic mark on her forehead. "Oh, I didn't know you wanted to lose again so soon." Erza replied angrily. The two Butted heads and locked hands in a grapple while hurling insults at eachother.
"She gets mad at us for fighting, but she's allowed to wreck the place whenever Mira so much as glances at her." Natsu grumbles. "Talk about hypocritical." Grey mumbles next to him. "Grey, your clothes." Canna says from her table, making Grey jump in surprise.
After making a few people go flying and smashing a bunch of tables and stools they stood across from eachother, slightly bruised, and glaring.
"You ready to give up Tomato?" Mira said, smirking. "Not a chance little miss She-devil." Erza growled back, making Mira go from a smirk to a snarl.
They both charged at eachother. Right before either one could land another blow their punches hit nothing but air as they were pulled apart. "Hey, let me go, I was about to win." Both said at the same time as they kept trying to reach the other. "What did I tell you two? No fighting, at least inside the hall." Jasper said as he held both girls away from the other, as far as his arms could go.
Natsu got an excited smile on his face, Grey just smirked. Mira and Erza finally realized who got in the middle of their fight, they both stopped, backed off, and pouted angrily while looking away and crossing their arms.
"Big bro, your back, how did your last job go?" Natsu said running up next to Jasper. "I sir." Happy said, landing on top of Jasper's head. "It went great, I just got back last night." Jasper said, picking Happy up off his head and sitting him on top of Natsu's.
"Anyways, Mira, Erza, what were you guys fight about this time?" Jasper asked in a disappointed tone. Erza rubbed her arm and looked away with an embarrassed blush, Mira did the same, scratching the back of her head instead.
Jasper let out a sigh as he got up and bonked the two of them on the head with a chop, getting yelps of pain from both girls. Natsu, Grey, Canna, and Happy tried and failed to hide their laughter, earning glares from both Erza and Mira.
"Oh, I almost forgot." Jasper said, catching everyone's attention. Jasper sbstrtarted digging in his bag. "Oh and I've got gifts for you guys." At his words everyone crowded around Jasper wondering what he got for them. "Hey, hey, hey, calm down. Give me a second to breath."
Everyone backed off with excited grins making Jasper sweat drop. He shook it off and went back to digging in his bag. "Okay first up is Happy." The little blue cat floated over to Jasper who pulled out a Giant Fish that looked like a blue fined tuna but had the tusks and trunk of an elephant.
Everyone's jaws dropped and all shared one thought. "How did that fit in his bag." Happy had stars in his eyes and a river of drool was flowing out of his mouth. "This is an Elephant Tuna, I heard that it's one of the most sought-after fish in the world."
Happy wasted no time and launch himself at the fish and he started devouring it like a starving beast, though given the size difference, one large bite from happy just looked like a nibble on the large fish. He had tears in his eyes from the flavor. "Thank you so much, this is the best fish I've ever tasted." Happy said with his cheeks full.
Jasper just chuckled. "Okay, Canna's next." Said Girl stepped up, Jasper pulled out a mug with a picture of a tarot card on it. "Umm, thanks?" She said with a smile. "It was made with spatial magic, it can hold about three barrels worth of any drink you want." Canna then gave Jasper a strong hug while saying thank you repeatedly.
"Alright now Natsu." Natsu almost teleported in front of Jasper, vibrating in pure excitement. "Whoa, calm down little bro." Jasper said, placing his hand on Natsu's shoulder. It barely worked as Natsu was still shaking and grinning like a mad man.
Jasper just shook his head and dug in his bag. He pulled out a red, bulky, one-handed sword hilt with no blade. (His fire sword from Edolis). Everyone tilted their heads at that, confused. "It's a fire sword, you put a lacrima in here-" he explained while popping open the hilt and putting a small red crystal inside. Once he closed it, he Jasper held it out a pressed a button on the guard making it form a blade of red fire. Handed it to Natsu who quickly consumed the flames. Once he was done, he let out a satisfied sigh and burped. "Those flames were delicious, thanks big bro." Natsu said, both him and Jasper smiling at eachother.
"Ezra, your next." Erza stepped up, successfully hiding her excitement unlike the others. Jasper reached into his bag and out two short swords, one's blade was pure white, the others was black with a red line on it making a hexagonal pattern. (Archer's blades from Fate Stay Nights).
Erza was amazed by the two blades, and so was everyone else. "This are the blades of Emiya, I thought you'd really like them." Erza took the swords, got a feel for them, and put them into her inventory. She turned back to Jasper and bowed slightly. "Thank you very much Jasper, I will always treasure them." Patted her head and smiled. "Be sure to use them well." He said, Erza walked away, her cheeks dusted pink.
"Now Grey." Grey, who had already lost his clothes, walked up with a bored look. Jasper reached back into his bag and pulled out a black box. Grey took the box with a raised eye brow. "What's this?" Grey asked. "Trust me you'll love it." Jasper said chuckling under his breath.
Grey just shrugged and opened the box. Natsu and happy were rolling on the ground, clutching their stomachs, and laughing so hard that they were gasping for air. Canna, Erza, and Mira we're giggling together. Grey's mouth was hanging open in shock, shadows covered his eyes. He was holding a pair of boxers that was covered in pictures of icebergs.
"Hahaha, now when you strip, people will know who you are and what magic you use, Hahaha." A tic mark formed on Grey's forehead. "You bastard!" He leapt at Jasper with a battle cry. Jasper knocked him away with ease while still laughing.
After everyone calmed down and Grey recovered, Jasper went back to look through his bag. "And last but not least, Mira." Mira walked up to him, fighting down the blush she had, but was struggling. Jasper saw this and chuckled evilly. He dug in his bag a pulled out a small box. Luckily no one saw it yet. Mira looked over his shoulder, trying to see what he had gotten for her.
Suddenly, Jasper got up, grabbed Mira by the waist and pulled her close. Mira's face was glowing crimson as she looked into Jasper brown eyes.
He loved to tease Mira like this, though he didn't know that Mira had a crush on him. Seeing this, Erza looked jealous, Grey's and Natsu's jaws dropped, Canna's eyes widened and she put her hand over her mouth in surprise, Happy did the same as Canna except he was giggling.
"Mira." Jasper said, bringing the box from behind his back so that she could see it. "This one's for you." Jasper said, ending it with a wink. Steam shot out of Mira's ears and her knees began to buckle. She shook her head, snatched the box out of Jasper's hand and pushed him away.
Jasper chuckled as she walked away and tried to calm down her blush. She walked over to Erza, who had a jealous look on her face, and Canna, who had a teasing smirk on hers.
Seeing their looks Mira gave them both a small glare. "So, what did he give you? " Canna asked eyeing the small box in Mira's hands. "Only one way to finger out." Mira said as Erza and Canna looked over Mira's shoulders as she opened the box.
One look at the ring inside and all three girls' eyes sparkled. The stars in Ezra's eyes vanished. She blinked her eyes, once, twice, thrice. "Eeeeeee!" Erza suddenly squealed, making Mira and Canna jump and land on their butts, rubbing the ears that were closest to Erza. "What the hell was that for!?" Mira yelled at her. Ezra grabbed her by the shoulders and started shaking her.
"Did you know what this means?!" Erza asked Mira while she continued to shake her. "No, what are you talking about?" Mira said as soon as Erza stopped shaking her. Canna was the one who answered. "I guess she thinks that he was going to propose to you."
Mira's imagination went to work, creating an image of her in a wedding dress standing in front of Jasper who was in a suit. As they leaned in to kiss the image began to fade. Steam was coming out of Mira's head as her face turned atomic red. She was about to fall over and faint but Canna caught her.
Erza was giggling and jumping up and down. She dashed over to Jasper and started rattling off question after question. "When is it happening?! Where is it gonna be?! Can I be in charge of planning it?! Can I be the Godmother of the kids?!" Everyone in the guild Hall began to laugh at the blushing pair. This is not the reaction that he was going for.
(Flashback End)
Erza and Mira were giggling together at the memory. Mira sighed. "You know, It took him weeks for him to ask me out after that." Erza glanced at her friend. "He nearly jumped ten feet into the air when I said yes." She had a sad smile while tears rolled down her cheeks . Erza wrapped her arms around her, and Mira calmed down.
Later, Erza had requipped back into her armor and was standing in front of the door "Well then, I'll be on my way, have a good night Mira." "You two Erza, see you later." The two said their goodbyes and Erza left.
