It had been four years since Charlus saved Harry from the Dursleys. It took some time for grandfather and grandson to build a relationship but eventually they did. Even helping each other heal from grief and abuse.

Charlus had learned from Lily how to incorporate muggle technology and magic. Which allowed them to watch Muggle tv. They had spent many nights watching movies and listening to music. The two Potters also enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. Harry was introduced to different cultures both magical and non-magical.
Upon learning about magic Harry became very eager to learn whatever he could. So Charlus taught him within reason. He was still mindful of Harry's age. At night Charlus would tell Harry about his parents and his grandma. Harry loved these stories as they made him feel connected to his parents.

It was a few days after Harry's eleventh birthday. They had just got back from vacation in Florida. They went to Disney World and Universal Studios and Harry loved every moment of it. However, he was very excited to be coming back to England he anxiously awaited his letter from Hogwarts. Sure enough, When Harry walked into the kitchen Trixie handed him a letter with the Hogwarts seal on it.

"It came; it came." Harry was excitedly yelling while opening the letter.
Charlus had mixed feelings about Harry going to Hogwarts. Harry was very excited to go and Charlus wanted nothing but to see Harry happy. Still, Charlus was uneasy. Hogwarts is where Dumbledore is and if Charlus had his way Harry would stay far away from Dumbledore.

Charlus still got angry thinking about his last conversation with Dumbledore. After Charlus rescued Harry Charlus went to Gringotts and claimed the Potter vaults and his status with a blood test. Charlus also went to Saint Mungo's and had himself and Harry medically looked at. Once the healers were done Charlus got mind healers for the both of them. Harry for his trauma and Charlus so he could be medically cleared to be Harry's Guardian. With the healer's clearance and the Goblins verifying his identity Charlus submitted his Guardianship to the Ministry. Even if the Ministry wanted to fight it there was little the Ministry could do. They could not deny a most Ancient and Noble house without cause.

However, it did not stop Dumbledore from trying. Charlus remembered their first conversation a few weeks after rescuing Harry.

It was after a Wizengamot session where Charlus had reclaimed the Potter's seat when Charlus was approached by Dumbledore in Charlus's office.

"Charlus it's good to see you. It seems rumors of your death have been greatly exaggerated."

"What can I say I am a hard guy to kill. So Albus what brings you here? We both know this isn't a social call so just come out with it already."
Dumbledore sighed at Charlus Bluntness.

"Very well. I am here to discuss your Guardianship of Harry Potter. While I'm thrilled young Harry has found he still has family left I don't think it was prudent to remove the boy from his other relatives. I know this isn't what you want to hear but please understand I only have Young Harry's best interest at heart."

"I beg your Pardon Dumbledore, but Harry isn't staying with anyone but me. That isn't up for debate. Speaking of being his Guardian you better give me a very good reason why you felt you would ignore the will of Harry's parents and placed him with those magic-hating muggles. Do you have any idea what they did to him? They beat him repeatedly. Is this your idea of having his best interests at heart? Not to mention the wards you put up making him unable to go to any other adult for help."

"What do you mean they beat him? In my letter, I specifically told them to treat Harry like they would treat their son. I even had the place watched and nobody reported him being beaten. I also am not aware his parents left any instructions upon their death. If they had then I assure you I had no idea. Why I made myself Guardian of Harry is quite simple. After Voldemort was defeated, he still had many supporters. I couldn't let Harry fall into their hands and light families would have treated him as a hero and would have spoiled him or used him to gain favor. Both options were not what was best for Harry. So, I used my Influence to be named his Guardian and brought him to the only family he had left. I put wards up over his home to protect him and to prevent other muggles from witnessing any accidental magic. All it did was make them forget they saw Harry. In Hindsight I should have checked up on him but being the Headmaster, Chief Warlock as well as Supreme Mugwump of the ICW time isn't a luxury I have. It's very easy to judge from your position but if you were in my shoes would you do any different?"

Charlus was taken back at first Dumbledore had given him a reasonable explanation of his actions but still Charlus felt there was something off.

"I know for a fact I would have made different choices. Your choices have made Harry suffer. You might not agree but there is nothing you can do. Harry is my grandson, and Guardianship was given to me. "

"I hoped to reason with you, but it seems we are beyond that. I am truly sorry for young Harry's suffering. Have a good day Charlus."

Once Dumbledore was back in private, he let his frustration show. Fawkes let out to the average person what sounded like chirps but in reality, was talking to Dumbledore. Once Dumbledore composed himself, he answered back

"While Charlus being alive is an inconvenience it's nothing I can't handle. His involvement does nothing to change my plans. Charlus will be dealt with in due time I am nothing if not patient."

Charlus shook his head to shake the thoughts of that meeting and to focus on the here and now. After a big breakfast, Charlus took Harry to Diagon Ally. Their first stop was Gringotts. Following tradition when one turns eleven Harry officially claimed his role as Heir Potter. In the past, they used to use rings, but the practice went away as eleven-year-olds kept losing them. So instead, it was more just a formality. A simple blood test and some official paperwork that had to be sent to the Ministry was all it took. As Heir Harry was officially able to own a trust vault.

After leaving Gringotts Charlus took Harry to Flourish and Blotts to get Harry's school books. Harry was a bit uncomfortable with all the whispers and pointing. Charys had told him to expect this. Charlus had spent the past four years keeping Harry out of the spotlight but there was no avoiding it now. Harry was browsing the shelves looking at books that caught his eye. All the while purposely trying to ignore everyone around him and didn't pay attention to his surroundings. Which resulted in Harry bumping into a girl.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there," Harry said while offering his hand to the girl. The girl looked to be about his age and had long black hair that reached just below her shoulder blades. The girl's most striking feature was her Violet eyes. Her face was proud and aristocratic made even more so by the regal green dress robes she wore. Still, Harry couldn't help but be drawn in by her eyes.

"You should watch where you are going." The girl said back rather rudely in Harry's opinion.

"Yeah, I know I was just distracted I'm sorry. My name is Harry, and you are?" The girl just scoffed

"I know who you are Harry Potter." The girl answered while glaring at Harry which confused him.

"Aren't you going to tell me your name?" Harry asked.

"No, you don't need it." The girl continued to glare at him and at this point, Harry was annoyed with her rude behavior. He was about to retort when a man with black hair and a well-groomed goatee with icy blue eyes approached.

"I trust Daphne that you are behaving yourself. Oh, and who is this?" The man's voice was soft but commanding

"Yes, Father I am behaving this boy is Harry Potter and I was just telling him to be more careful as he knocked into me."
The man's eyes narrowed on hearing Harry's name. Harry saw the man's eye travel to his scar and then size him up.

"Merlin's beard so you are Harry Potter. I have to admit You are not what I was expecting our great savior to look like. I guess it's true what they say don't meet your hero's they always disappoint you."

It was Harry's turn to narrow his eyes. Harry was angry but he felt a comforting hand on his shoulder. Looking up he saw his grandpa.

"Cyrus Greengrass, I assume? You look a lot like your father Virgil. I hear your potion business isn't as profitable as it used to be. That's a shame I guess your father only passed down his looks but not his brains."

Cyrus flushed red from embarrassment at Charlus's statement. He would have liked nothing more than to curse the old man, but he was smart enough to know it wouldn't work out well for him. Charlus may be old, but Cyrus had no doubt Charlus could still wipe the floor with him. Not to mention Charlus was Head of the Potter family which had both massive wealth and political sway more so than his family. So, Cyrus just grabbed his daughter and pulled her away. Rather roughly in Harry's opinion.

"Don't worry about them, Harry. The Greengrass family was once one of the most influential families of the grey faction, but times have changed. Virgil was a good man and ran a very successful potions business. It's a shame his son nearly bankrupted the business with his gambling debts. If it wasn't for the arranged marriage with Gabriella Olsen the Greengrass family would be broke. Cyrus also bet heavily on the wrong side in the blood war making him pretty bitter towards you in particular."

Harry said nothing as his grandfather paid for his books and steered him out of the shop. Soon enough Harry being 11 was distracted and thoughts about Daphne and her father faded. They went to several different shops to get Harry his school supplies. Harry even got to pick out a beautiful snowy owl Harry named Hedwig. It was when Charlus told him it was time to go did Harry realized they never went to Olivander's.

"Grandpa I never got a wand."

"Don't worry Harry. We're not going to Olivander's. I met an amazing Shaman in the States. He crafts wands in tune with the user. While Olivander is good, he unfortunately sells already made Wands. While your magic may find one suitable it is never as good as one designed specifically for you."

Charlus had his friend visit the next day. Charlus Friend was a very tall Cherokee Native American whose name was Greycloud. Greycloud had many scars on his face and body and one of his eyes was milky white indicating he was blind in that eye. According to Greycloud his scars and his eye were the result of being tortured by insane cultists. A fate that Charlus rescued him from. After a hearty lunch in which Charlus and Greycloud got caught up with each other's lives, Greycloud unfurled a long rug with many different types of wood and jars full of different cores.

"All right Harry the way this works is first you choose a core. I will hand you different cores and your magic will tell you if it's the right one or not. Then you would do the same for the wood."

Harry did as he was told and Greycloud handed him different cores. The first was unicorn hair. Harry felt a very faint presence, but he knew it wasn't the one for him. Next was Thestral hair which Harry found his magic reacting negatively. Harry also felt a stirring when he came across Phoenix feathers, but it wasn't quite right. Finally, Harry came upon a single Thunder Bird feather. Harry's magic reacted with a warm jolt and Harry knew this was the one.

"Ah, that is the oldest core I have. A feather from a Thunderbird. It is both extremely rare and very powerful. Thunderbirds are worshiped by my people. they are fierce protectors. I was very fortunate to find myself in position in my travels to rescue a wounded Thunderbird. As thanks I was granted three feathers, one was given to my family where it will be passed on to my future generations. The second was given as a gift to my father-in-law as a Dowry for my beautiful wife. That last feather I have kept hoping to craft a wand one day with it. I have made Wands for many years, and no one had been able to get any reaction from that core. Not even Your grandfather Charlus over here. It seems fate that this feather should choose you with that unique lightning bolt scar on your forehead."

Harry didn't know what to make of that statement. He didn't like the idea of fate it made him think he wasn't in control of his own life. Still, he was curious how Greycloud was able to collect all the cores he carried.

"How did you come by these cores? Most certainly couldn't be bought."

"I have always had a love for seeking out Ancient magical and non-magical artifacts. Why even one time I found myself traveling around with a no mage who enjoyed Fedoras and Bull whips..." Charlus cleared his throat and Greycloud looked a bit sheepish.

"Ah yes woods sorry. Now Harry choose a wood between yew, red oak, and Ebony. Those are the only woods that can hold such a core."
Harry felt the first wood red oak and felt nothing. The yew he felt his magic respond to but in a dark way. It was as if a dark presence inside him craved the yew. Harry quickly dropped the Yew he didn't like the dark feeling it brought out of him. Harry picked up the ebony and felt the same flair of magic he felt with the Thunderbird feather. He knew the ebony was for him. Greycloud took the Ebony and Thunderbird feather and said it would take him a day to craft it.

Greycloud returned two days later saying how the process took longer than he thought. He presented the wand to Harry it was 12 inches rigid and was a deep black color due to the ebony and had what looked like blue Eletric currents going down it. According to Greycloud it was one of the finest wands he ever made. Greycloud went on to explain that the wand was great for offensive and defensive spells as well as elemental magic and conjuring. He did caution that necromancy and illusion spells would be weaker being cast with this wand, Once Harry held it, a loud thunderclap was heard. Harry felt small Eletric currents running down his arm and Harry felt it was an extension of him. Greycloud also had placed small runes on it that made his wand anti summonable, and unbreakable. The wand was also keyed into Harry's magic and blood. This meant no one besides Harry could wield it and if for whatever reason Harry's wand wasn't on him, he just needed to will his magic, and his wand would appear in his hand. Harry had seen Charlus do this with his wand and was excited. Greycloud also told him since the wand was crafted specifically for Harry it didn't have the trace on it like Olivander puts on his wand. Harry was very impressed and got a little emotional when giving his thanks.

The rest of the summer passed quickly and soon enough it was the night before Harry was to go to Hogwarts. After dinner, Charlus took Harry to the drawing room. Where the portraits of previous Potter's watched, and he took out a large stone basin with an unknown liquid swirling about.

"Harry you are heir Potter now and it is important you know your family's history. This is a pensieve and it contains the memory of Reginold Potter and his Betrothed Abagail Peverell. Some background information before we dive in. The Potter family started as a clan of Norse warriors who settled in Britain. Eventually the family became known for their pottery work as well as being fierce warriors. I guess you gotta have a hobby in-between fighting."

Harry rolled his eyes at Charlus bad joke.

"The Potters were a wealthy family and were considered nobility by the monarchs. Life was good and Reginold Potter heir to House Potter was set to marry a women named Abagail Peverell. The day of the wedding a dragon attacked the village. The Dragon burned most of the village and then flew away. Thinking the worst was Over Reginold Potter and Abagail left their shelter to investigate the damage. That's when the black Dragon swooped from the sky and grabbed Abagail. Reginold determined to get his Betrothed back enlisted the help of some knights and tracked the Dragon to his lair.

Harry couldn't help but start laughing now. Charlus and the family portraits who had been listening gave him reproachful looks.

"I'm sorry Grandfather I don't mean disrespect, but this is sounding like those fairy tales where the knight goes to slay the dragon and rescue the damsel in distress."
"Harry, you live in a world of Magic. You should know that every legend has some truth to it. You would be surprised how much muggle fairy tales and myths are based off real events."

Harry was taken aback by the revelation but the more he thought about it the more sense it made. Except one thing
"Why would Dragon's kidnap Women. "

"In most cases the Women would seek the Dragons for protection. The stories and Legends got twisted where the Dragons became thought of as mindless beasts and the women precious damsels who needed saving. History has not been kind to women and Magical women even less. To escape from being hunted and killed they sought protection with the Dragons. Obviously, there were people who would continue to hunt them even with the Dragons protecting them. Thus, the Legend was born."

"So, Reginold's betrothed wanted to be with the Dragon?" Now Harry was very confused.

"Notice how I said in most cases it's the women who seek protection but in rare cases like this one the Dragon was being controlled. Please save anymore interruptions and question till after. "

Harry was eager to hear the rest, so he held off on asking any questions. Charlus led him to the Pensieve and instructed him how to use it. Charlus counted to three and they both plunged into the memory.

The first thing Harry noticed was he was in some kind of large cave. There was bones discarded all over the place. The only light came from a group of Men dressed in battle Armor carrying torches. One of the men cried out

"ABAGAIL WHERE ARE YOU" Harry guessed that the man was Reginold.

A sinister voice that sounded like hissing answered back.

"You should not have come here. Now you will become roasted snacks for my beast." A roar grew louder and louder until the men became face to face with a Dragon. Harry got a good look at the dragon and couldn't help but feel fear. Charlus noticing put his arm on Harry's shoulder.

"This is just a memory Harry. It is terrifying yes but it can't hurt you. " With the reassurance from Charlus Harry took a better look at the Dragon. Harry noticed several scars along the Dragon's face some fresher then others. The most striking feature was a silver collar around the Dragons neck that glowed with squiggly lines. Harry found when he focused the squiggly lines became words 'Bound by blood in servitude of the speaker'

Harry stopped staring at the dragon and focused on the men. The Dragon wasted no time attacking. The men scattered in different directions. They tried attacking the Dragon with swords and axes, but they just bounced off. The scene was turning grim as the Dragon was picking them off one by one. A burst of fire, a claw to the chest, one unlucky man found himself ripped apart by Dragon's teeth. It wasn't long till it was only Reginold remaining. Reginold had done a good job of avoiding the Dragons attacks, but he couldn't do any damage of his own and he was quickly tiring. Reginold tried to duck under the Dragon and stab at its belly. Unfortunately for Reginold the Dragon was faster and instead of the Dragons belly found himself getting slammed into the wall from the Dragons tail.

Harry knew the fight was over. Reginold was slow to get up and the Dragon had capitalized on Reginold's slow movement and blocked Reginold against the wall. The Dragon opened its maw. Reginold was trapped the dragon blocked the only way forward and he was to injured to dodge the Dragons fire. Reginold screamed out one last thing before the torrent of flame was upon him.

"ABAGAIL, I LOVE YOU. I'M SORRY I FAILED YOU"

The flames engulfed him, and Harry had to look away Harry had no desire to see another burnt corpse. The scene changed they were still in the cave but further in. Harry was now watching a Women chained to a wall and a man leering over her. The women seemed to be just coming too.

"Abagail you are a hard woman to track down. Who would have thought you would be hiding amongst the Muggles. It's taken me a considerable amount of time and resources to find you. I must say I'm impressed. You know what I want make this easy for yourself give me the cloak. "

"Emeric Gaunt I wish I could say I was surprised. I figured you would find me eventually despite my best efforts. You wasted your time you will never get the cloak even if you kill me."

"I'm not going to kill you. That would just be a waste and lt doesn't get me what I want. No my dear I'm going to break you and you will give it to me willingly. "

"You will find I'm not so easily broken"

" Given enough time I have found that everyone has a breaking point. The best thing about you hiding among the muggles is no one knows who you really are. No one will come looking. As far as their concerned you became food for a dragon. I have invented a new spell for this very occasion. Now it took a while to get it just right so don't be shy about expressing what you're feeling."

"Do your worst." The women said while spitting down at Emeric's feet.

"As you wish. CRUCIO!" Harry watched in horror as the women's body twisted in ways it shouldn't all while letting out a piercing scream.

The man let go of the spell after a few seconds but to Harry and Abagail it felt longer.
"This was a tricky spell. I've found if I let it go on too long it completely destroys the mind. Took some trial and error but now I know the limits. We have nothing but time my dear I can cast this spell over and over. Holding it just enough to test the limit of your mind. Give me the cloak."

Abagail was sobbing from the pain but even then, she shook her head in defiance.

"So be it CRUC-" before Emeric could cast the spell, he was interrupted by a voice yelling.

"ABAGAIL WHERE ARE YOU "

"You should not have come here. Now you will become roasted snacks for my beast. kill them all Emeric hissed. Harry now knew this was the voice he heard earlier.

yes masterHarry was shocked when he heard the Dragon speak back.

Harry was shocked he wasn't aware Dragons could talk. Harry was going to ask Charlus about it but then remembered he promised to save his questions till the end.

Emeric's distraction cost him as when he turned back to Abagail she was gone.

"Clever girl but that cloak won't save you forever. We both know you couldn't have gone far while suffering the aftermath of my curse."

A spell shot toward Emeric from the corner Emeric lazily swatted it away with his wand.

"You're going to have to do better than that. It was a neat trick summoning the cloak and wand. It won't do you any good I'm afraid. Even with a wand you are no match for me."

More spells flew towards Emeric, but he continued to swat them away. Emeric began sending spells back. From what Harry could tell Abagail was putting up a fight but she was losing. Every volley of spells Emeric was getting closer. Harry was sure if it wasn't for the invisibility cloak the fight would have been ended sooner. Emeric couldn't see her but every spell she fired allowed him to pinpoint. In no time Emeric closed the gap.

"ABAGAIL, I LOVE YOU. I'M SORRY I FAILED YOU"

Abagail's heart clenched upon hearing Reginold. While she was distracted a simple tripping spell caught Abagail. Abagail fell and the cloak slipped off.
Abagail looked up to see a smiling Emeric with his wand pointed at her while picking up the cloak.

"This was inevitable Abagail. This could have gone differently had you just given me the cloak, but you like your father are stubborn. Now you will pay the price of defiance as the rest of your family did. CRUCIO"

Abagail screamed in pain as she once again found herself under the curse. When he released the curse Abagail found herself pleading.

"Please just kill me. You won already you have the cloak. I just want to be with Reginold."

"You truly cared for that muggle. How disgraceful. Someone with your blood with a filthy muggle. You should be happy I killed your family so they wouldn't have to see you like this. I told you already I don't plan to kill you. I will teach you your place. You will become a proper pureblood lady. We will join our bloodlines and sire powerful children."

Just then Emeric dropped to his knees as an arrow pierced his back.

Harry and Charlus found the scene shifting again. Back to Reginold as the fire engulfed him. Harry was amazed to see instead of the fire burning Reginold to a crisp it was being blocked by a magical shield. Reginold was glowing and looking at his skin in stunned disbelief. For a moment even the dragon looked taken back. The Dragon opened its maw again to release more fire. Reginold seeing his chance rushed foward. As the Dragon released more fire Reginold stabbed his sword straight up through the roof of the Dragons mouth and right into its brain. The Dragon fell and Reginold wasted no time moving on.

Harry and Charlus followed Reginold deeper into the cave. They came across Emeric standing over Abagail. Harry heard Emeric giving the same speech he heard before about teaching Abagail to be a proper pureblood lady. Reginold had smartly picked up a bow and arrow. While Emeric was talking, he notched an arrow took aim and fired. The arrow hit Emeric in the back and dropped him to his knees.

Abagail was overjoyed that Reginold was still alive, but she had to act on the opening they just received. Abagail tried to lift her wand, but her body was still shaking in pain.

Emeric pulled the arrow from his back and lifted his wand towards Abagail. Reginold hadn't been staying still after he shot the arrow. Reginold rushed Emeric and tackled him and they ended up rolling on the floor being bigger and stronger had the upper hand.

Emeric tried desperately to use his wand, but Reginold's fist prevented him from uttering a spell. In desperation Emeric pulled a dagger from his sheath and stabbed upwards. Seeing Reginold get stabbed Abagail screamed out.

"NOO REGINOLD" Reginold fell to the floor clutching the dagger in his stomach. Seeing Emeric rise Abagail willed her body to stop shaking and hit Emeric with her family's signature spell. White flames shot out and hit Emeric in the chest. Emeric screamed out as the fire burned him. Abagail felt a brief annoyance as she couldn't fully power the spell. Reginold despite the pain he was in smiled up at Abagail.

" I *cough* always knew there *cough* *cough* was something you weren't telling me. You're a witch."

"You're right Reginold but we can talk about that later. Right now, I'm going to heal that wound." Abagail true to her word used her wand and cast a spell to stop the bleeding and another to close the wound.

While Abagail was working on Reginold Emeric got back up. He was badly hurt that spell was burning his insides and it was taking nearly all the magic he could channel to stop it. Looking towards Abagail healing Reginold a plan formed on his mind. Emeric will use a stunner on Abagail simple enough that he wouldn't waste much magic on it and effective enough he would be able to finish them both off.

Harry despite knowing Abagail and Reginold couldn't hear him still tried to cry out warning as the stunner went straight for Abagail's back. Abagail couldn't see it but Reginold did. He lifted his hand up instinctively. Unbelievably the stunner was stopped by an invisible shield. Everyone was shocked but none more so than Reginold who stared at his hand in amazement.

Abagail jumped up surprised by what had happened. Emeric snarled in frustration. Emeric knew it was time to leave he pulled out his emergency portkey and tried to grab the cloak, but Abagail summoned it to her hand. With one last look of pure loathing Emeric was gone.

The memory ended and Harry and Charlus found them back in the drawing room in Potter Manor.

"Now I will answer your questions, Harry."
Harry had so many questions he wanted to ask, and they burst out in his excitement.

"What happened to them? How did Reginold survive the Dragons fire? Did you know Dragons can talk? What was that spell Abagail used? Was Reginold a wizard?"

"Breath Harry I can only answer one at a time. Abagail and Reginold survived and got married they had three kids. Turns out Reginold was actually a wizard as well. Reginold wasn't even aware of it but extreme circumstances bring out sides of us we never knew. Abagail having been raised knowing about magic was able to explain that Reginold was actually a wizard. That spell Abagail used was a Peverell family spell.

The Peverell family were extremely powerful, and some Legends even say they were blessed by death. I couldn't tell you if they were or not, but I can say they were in possession of three powerful objects. Including this one" Charlus extended his hand, and Harry saw the cloak from the memory.

"Is that the Cloak the man Emeric wanted." Harry asked.

"The very same. It has been passed down in the Potters each generation. A nifty thing Abagail added to the cloak was adding blood runes to it. Allowing someone of her blood to summon it to them no matter where it is. My father gave it to me and i gave it to your father. One of the first things i did when I returned was to summon it. By all rights it should be your father giving this to you. Damn that Voldemort from robbing you of this. Be that as it may. You are a Potter of Abagail Peverell's blood, so this cloak now belongs to you."

Charlus wiped tears out of his eyes watching Harry examine the cloak in his hands. Thinking of James always brought out a deep sense of sorrow. Charlus would do anything if he could speak to his son one last time. Charlus was so lost in his thoughts he almost didn't register Harry asking him a question.

"Is there anyone else with Abagail's blood out there?" Charlus sighed before answering

"Unfortunately, no. The Peverell family's three powerful objects brought them fame, but it also led to its undoing. Each item was given to a group of three brothers which each created their own line of the Peverell of the objects was a powerful wand which people killed for. The other was a ring that allowed you to talk with the dead. The cloak wasn't very well known thankfully. The other two items led to their Peverell lines ending mostly. One line got absorbed by another family the Gaunts. Emeric Gaunt was ruthless and was determined to own all three Peverell items of power. He inherited the ring, he won the wand in a duel the last was the cloak. He tracked down the last of the Peverells and killed them. Abagail escaped with the cloak. She hid amongst the muggles and found herself in love with Reginold Potter. "

"Reginold and Abagail had three kids wouldn't that lead to different Potter lines?" Harry asked.

"The Potters were once numerous. Wars wiped out many. Diseases others. The fatal blow was the massacre of the Potters. You recall Emeric Gaunt swore vegence well his family got it. Emeric died before he could get revenge but his hatred passed on. The Gaunts and Potters found themselves in a blood feud. The head of the Gaunts Corvinus Gaunt lost a duel to Henry Potter. The embarrassment caused Corvinus to hunt down Potters which he did when the Potters where at a wedding. Almost every Potter was in attendance. He poisoned the drinks. Those that weren't poisoned were outright killed. Henry Potter was late to the wedding it's the only thing that kept him and his wife and son alive. Corvinus was captured and sent to Azkaban. The Gaunts lost their seat on the wizengarmet and were forced to pay most of their wealth towards Henry Potter. The Gaunts never recovered and were completely broke and wiped out within a century. "

Charlus stopped to Drink some tea that Loki provided. Harry was upset about his family's tragedy. He had grown hearing stories about his dad and even Charlus's dad Flemont but this was the first time he was learning of the entire Potter family history.

"As I was saying with the Potter family nearly wiped out my father would always say never forget where you come from. Before the massacre, we were a great family. So I always took those words to heart and strived to do the best I could to make our fallen ancestors proud. I ask the same of you. Our ancestors died and it's up to us to continue the Potter legacy. You have a habit of holding back and hiding in the shadows. Harry that will never work. You are a Potter the family magic in you would never be content to hide in the shadows and like it or not you are the boy who lived. People will look to you no matter what. Now having said this it is not an excuse to be an arrogant wanker like the Malfoys or the other entitled purebloods. Remember where you came from but also keep in mind you are not better than anyone because of being the boy who lived or having the last name Potter. If I find out, you are bullying other people because you think you are better, I will personally mount your behind on the fireplace. I want you to strive to be the best version of yourself. Don't be content with what you know. Knowledge is important and it's always good to find out more. If you struggle with something, find somebody who can help you. Never be afraid to ask for help, Harry. It's impossible to be great at everything. Also, remember to have fun and make friends. As far as houses at Hogwarts go don't let anyone influence you. Each house has produced outstanding witches and Wizards. Go to the house that best suits you. Potter's have been in all four houses we don't have a preference.

"If family magic is important then are purebloods, right?"

"Pureblood ideology is rooted in family pride but it was perverted into something sinister. Family magic is important but never forget every family started off with a muggleborn. Every muggleborn that comes in is the potential start of a great family. Magic is different for everyone who knows what gifts one is born with. The circumstances of one birth mean nothing. It's what you do with the life you have been given. Purebloods and their zeal to keep blood pure have actually weaken themselves. By forcing marriage contracts they deny their magic to find compatible mates. There is a reason divorce isn't really a thing in the magical world. Magic binds us. It's also reason why magic folks tend to marry younger. When you know you know. Forced marriage creates weaker magic affinity."

Harry was still mostly processing everything he was told. He was lost on magic affinity though.

"What is magic affinity?"

"Magic affinity is how much magic you can channel. Magic is all around us, inside us even in muggles. Witches and Wizards have higher magical affinity and thus can channel magic the higher the affinity the more magic you can channel the more powerful you are. Muggles have almost no affinity. Squids have more but not enough to channel. You will learn more about this at Hogwarts during your magical education. Now it is late, and you have a big day tomorrow so time for bed. Oh, one last thing Harry I forgot to mention in regard to your questions earlier. Dragons can't talk."

"Yes, they can I heard it in the memory"
With that Harry went to bed leaving his grandpa deep in thought over what Harry said. Harry went to sleep with determination go out and make all the Potters proud and to add to the Potter legacy.

In a cell, an old frail man looked out to the sea below. Once upon a time, the man held hope that he would escape this cell, but those hopes have long been crushed. The man heard his cell door being opened and scoffed.

"It must be Saturday. Time for your weekly visit Albus. Making yourself right at home?" The man turned around and spat at the feet of Albus Dumbledore. What once were bonds of Friendship and Love had grown to hatred and contempt.

"Nurmengard castle does have its charms. I feel it's an appropriate place to have as a base of operations. After all, this is a place where I achieved my greatest victory. What better place to plan for my next victory? You should be honored you are part of it.

The man sneered and replied

" I wish I never met you. I would have been so much better off."

"That is no way to speak to an old friend after all I did spare you."

"Don't pretend you did me any favors Dumbledore. We both know why you spared me. I wish you would have killed me death would be better than the existence I have now."

"I'm glad we are past the stage of you begging me to kill you. It was very unbecoming of you." Dumbledore flicked his wand, and the man was frozen to the wall. Two guards came in potion in hand. One guard pinched his nose and tilted his head back and the other poured the potion down his throat. The man wanted to resist and fight but he knew it was useless. Every week it was the same thing. Dumbledore would come taunt him and then two guards would force the potion down his mouth. Once it was done Dumbledore would leave and the man would be alone with nothing but the sound of the crashing waves down below.

"See you next week-Old Friend" With that Dumbledore left whistling a tune while the man just watched with a burning hatred in his eyes.
