Yukimura Kai, a young man around the age of fifteen, stood on a street corner as a gentle drizzle fell from the sky. He wore simple clothing, jeans, a t-shirt, a light jacket, and boots. His naturally spiky white hair was limp from the water trapped in it while a wet unlit cigarette hung from his lips. He seemed completely relaxed in the wet weather as he scanned his small domain with blood red eyes.

Most would think his hair and eyes were a result of his Quirk. Those people would be wrong. It was well known that Kai was completely and utterly Quirless, a rarity for someone his age. Eighty percent of the people in the world had Quirks. Of the last twenty percent, the majority of them were older people. The newest generations? It was more like five percent were Quirkless.

It was unfair. It also led to a well hidden statistic. The majority of that five percent? Their suicide rates were astronomical. Bullied as children for being 'different', unable to find jobs because people with Quirks were 'better' somehow, rejected from the dating pool, and more little indignities that just led them down darker paths.

Kai was familiar with these things. He'd been bullied when he was younger, before he'd run away from it all to live on the streets. He wasn't the only Quirkless person to do so. What had surprised him was meeting people with Quirks in oddly similar situations. The ugly mutants and so-called 'villainous Quirks'.

Mutant Quirks were not uncommon. You could walk down any normally busy street and easily spot a couple of people with animal features or even straight up animal bodies. You know what you didn't see? Tenzu the snail boy whose Quirk had literally mutated him into a human-sized snail. Kai felt for Tenzu, the guy was only a couple years older than himself and had been forced out of visible society purely because of his looks. The guy was a solid friend and a good soul, but it didn't matter. He was 'too ugly' for polite society.

Then there were the 'villainous Quirks'. Such a crap label to be placed on something people didn't have any control over. Quicks such as anything dealing with Blood were almost always universally despised as 'evil'. Vlad King was the only blood related Hero that Kai had ever heard of having a successful career. Even so, the guy spent the majority of his time hidden away behind the walls of Yuuei out of public sight. Not exactly a major public figure.

Kai was brought out of his musing as a girl wearing a high school uniform he didn't recognize wandered over to his corner. When she was close she held up a single finger telling him what she wanted. His response was digging into a dry interior pocket of his coat and pulling out a small baggie of weed which was exchanged for a small bundle of cash.

Weed in hand, the girl scampered off into the dreary darkness caused by the cloud cover. It was a little into the afternoon, so her school probably only let out an hour or two ago. Well, it didn't matter to him. This was his life right now, selling drugs for Shie Hassaikai, a growing Yakuza group. Rumor was the leader of the group disliked Quirks, despite him and his lieutenants all having them. Dude was also supposed to be a germiphobe. Weird combination.

For now the group was in the drug trade and quietly recruiting people. Being Quirkless had actually given Kai a nice in to the group about a year ago. Since then he'd climbed the ranks a fair bit. His selling on a corner in the current weather was a choice on his part. It was a hell of a lot more fun than sitting in his stash house doing paperwork! Not that he could avoid that for too long or it would stack up and become unbearable.

On the bright side, he'd only ever had to shoot one of his dealers once to send the message that skipping either drugs or cash from him was a terrible idea. Of course, knowing that Kai hadn't killed the guy just made what he actually did worse. He'd shot the skimmer in the pelvis shattering it and laying the guy up for months. Even after he recovered, there had been linger damage that no man ever wanted to deal with.

Suffice it to say, Limpy earned his new nickname and taught everyone working under Kai a very valuable lesson.

-Line Break-

Kai spent a few more hours on his corner until he could no longer ignore the work he needed to get done back at his stash house. Fortunately, he was saved when one of his minions, Tezu, caught him at the door, "Rappa-san was here looking for you. He said to go to headquarters as soon as you got back."

Kai sighed while nodding to acknowledge the message. He immediately left to make his way to meet with Rappa Kendo, one of his least favorite people. Rappa wasn't necessarily a terrible person, it's just that he was a terrible yakuza. Realistically speaking. Rappa was all about honorable one-on-one hand-to-hand combat to the death. The dude was the quintessential battle-lust driven brawler.

It made him terrible at being a drug dealer of any description.

It also didn't help that Rappa already had a low opinion of Kai for what he'd done to Limpy. Rappa was of the opinion that Kai should have bare knuckle boxed Limpy into submission. Nevermind that Kai had been thirteen at the time and Limpy was in his twenties. Kai was no stranger to violence, but there was no way in hell he was going to fight someone that physically superior to him in a fair fight. So, he shot the guy.

Rappa disapproved. Luckily the current head of Shie Hassaikai, Overhaul, didn't care. Kai did his job and did it well, that's all Overhaul cared about. It also helped that Kai had been a fervent worker since he was recruited off of the streets and did everything he could to improve profits for the group. Unfortunately, he'd climbed about as far up the ranks as he could without a Quirk.

Overhaul might be rumored to hate Quirks, but the asshole still only promoted people with them into the top ranks. Hypocrite.

It didn't take Kai long to make his way to where Rappa was. As a higher ranking member, he had his stash house close to the main area they operated out of. Not that they had an enormous territory to begin with. What with heroes and villains constantly screwing the yakuza over they'd become little more than a shadow of what they once were.

Rappa's place was a wide open area that looked sort of like a dojo. Rappa himself was a beast of a man, tall, heavily muscled, shirtless, wearing pants, boots, and a specially made pair of gauntlets that covered the outsides of his hands and fingers in a layer of metal to make his punches hit harder. It was the mask the man wore that drew Kai's attention though. It was pitch black and bird-like, similar to the plague doctor mask that Overhaul wore.

All the Eight Bullets wore some kind of bird-like mask, or at least all the ones he'd met did.

As Kai got within sight of Rappa, the man stopped shadow boxing and looked him over. Kai could clearly see the disdain that Rappa had for him. Kai kept himself in shape, but he was nowhere near as built as Rappa. Not like he could be given his age anyway. Regardless, it always unnerved him to be in front of the dumb brute.

"Follow me."

His message delivered, Rappa spun on his heels and led Kai deeper into the complex. It was one of several that Shie Hassaikai had, at the moment, and one he'd been to often enough. Though this time Rappa led Kai through hallways he'd never visited before. They even moved underground, something Kai hadn't been aware they could do. Clearly the complex was significantly more impressive than he'd expected.

After a while they arrived at their destination, a nondescript door at the end of a nondescript hallway. Rappa rapped on the door with his fist, "He's here."

"Enter."

Rappa opened the door and unceremoniously shoved Kai into the room with a snicker. The door slammed shut behind Kai who found himself standing in front of his nominal leader, Overhaul.

Kai was honestly surprised to meet Overhaul in person. Even more surprising was his seeming youth. Kai had expected him to be... older. Granted, Overhaul was in his twenties, probably a decade or so older than himself, but still. He'd always pictured him as some old guy, not someone under thirty wearing street clothes and a jacket with a feather collar. Kinda fashionable, maybe. Of course, like Rappa, he wore a mask, only Overhauls was more decorated and only covered his nose and mouth leaving the rest of his face clear.

Overhaul wasn't looking at him, he was clearly looking over some papers on his desk. Kai waited patiently until the man was finished doing whatever he was doing and looked up. Overhaul clearly looked him over before speaking, "So, you are Yukimura Kai, my number one salesman."

Kai nodded but didn't verbally reply. Overhaul smiled, "Interesting that we share the same name, I am Chisaki Kai, better known as Overhaul. Do you know why you are here?"

Kai did find it interesting that they had the same first name but didn't comment on it. Instead he shook his head at Overhaul's question. Overhaul climbed to his feet and moved around his desk to face Kai, though there was still a fair amount of distance between them, "We've recently gained the contacts necessary to begin selling Trigger. Are you familiar with it?"

Kai nodded. Trigger wasn't a new drug, but it was highly illegal and had serious side effects on people who used it. When injected into someone, it would boost the power of their Quirk to an extreme degree. Some chump with a basic fire Quirk taking Trigger could become as strong as Endevour for however long the drug lasted. Or so the rumors about it went.

Overhaul looked pleased, "I've chosen you for this task not only because of your excellent work, but also because I know you are Quirkless. Because of this, I know Trigger will hold no temptation for you."

Kai smiled a little, "Well, I can promise I am not the least bit interested in using Trigger myself. However, Edict, you will obey any order I give you to the best of your ability. Stay where you are and be silent."

Overhaul seemed confident in Kai's reply, then confused which quickly morphed into rage at some kid trying to order him around. That rage quickly morphed into fear when he found he couldn't move or make a sound. Overhaul stared at Kai in a mixture of shock, rage, and fear.

Kai inhaled deeply before letting it out in one explosive exhale, "Do you know how long I've been waiting for this moment?"

He clearly didn't expect Overhaul to reply as he continued, "A decade! Do you have any idea how long ten years is to a five year old child?! It's forever!" Kai looked Overhaul over while his lips curled into a wicked smirk, "Worth it. You see, me being Quirkless is false. A lie I had to perpetuate and enforce with said Quirk."

Kai walked around Overhaul and flopped into his very comfortable chair behind the desk with a sigh, "Turn and face me." After Overhaul had, Kai continued, "You see, my Quirk is fucking powerful. Like change reality to suit my whims powerful. Naturally such a powerful Quirk has limitations though. One of which is that I can't affect individuals unless I can see them. How fucked up is that?! I could use my Quirk to erase the color blue from existence, or make it so gravity stops entirely, but I can't make John Doe over in the good ol' USA do the chicken dance unless I lay eyeballs on him. Ridiculous right?"

Kai sighed and rolled his eyes, "Then there's the other major limitation. I can only have one of my edicts active at a time. Oh! That's what I call my Quirk! Edict! As in Edict of the King. Catchy right? I wont go into details, but when I was a kid and first discovered my Quirk, it led to some quick growing up. You see, you're pretty terrifying Overhaul, but there's someone even more terrifying than you. I don't know his name, but I do know that if word of my Quirk had gotten out when I was a kid, he'd have stolen it from me and the world would have burned."

Kai could see the shock on Overhaul's face and nodded sympathetically, "I know right? How terrifying do you think it was for a five year old kid to know, without a doubt, that if he showed off his Quirk even once, a scary man would steal it and use it to kill All Might?"

He sighed and shook it off, "But that's where you come in! You see, I abused the hell out of my Quirk to find information. Issuing commands that give me information are possible, even to the point of being a precog! How cool is that! Sadly, I can't clearly remember every last detail that my Quirk provides when I do. It's too much information, ya see? But, bit by bit and being a clever little shit, I figured out what I needed to survive. Not just survive, but thrive!"

Kai stared into Overhaul's eyes, "I needed your Quirk. Edict can only do one thing at a time. If I make myself invincible, then I am. Yet I could still be captured, imprisoned, and have my Quirk stolen. How about being as strong as All Might himself?! Sure, I can do that. But he'd not invincible and the fight would go on for years until I eventually lost. After Japan was devastated by the damage though. Oh, how about I just use my Quirk to kill him, right? Doesn't work. I can't kill someone directly with my Quirk. Not even by getting sneaky and trying to make it so they just can't breath or something."

He locked eyes with Overhaul, "How about what I'm doing to you and making them commit suicide?" He smirked at the sudden fear in Overhaul's eyes, "Same problem. Seems my Quirk just doesn't like killing. Your Quirk though? Oh, it's perfect for killing. Your Quirk is offense, defense, and utility all wrapped in one yummy package. I'd call you a biokinetic, but you're so much more than that!"

Kai waved his hand in the air dismissively, "Well, it's not about to matter to you much longer. Honestly, I'm doing the whole villain monologue thing and I finally get why they do it! I just want someone, anyone, to know the sheer amount of effort I've gone through just for this moment! But, alas, your time is up."

He focused on Overhaul as he stated clearly, "You will now use your Quirk to merge our bodies together while leaving me in full control of the new form and our Quirks."

Overhaul, very clearly against his will, moved over to Kai while pulling off his white gloves. When he was next to Kai, he reached out touching Kai's face with one hand and his own with the other. When Overhaul activated his Quirk, Kai's entire body spasmed as his eyes bulged, veins bulged on his neck, his spine arched, and his mouth opened in a silent scream. His entire body was literally being ripped to pieces. The sheer amount of pain he was feeling couldn't be described with mere words.

As their bodies merged there was a massive storm of energy, lightning crackled around them as their amalgamated body became stable. Kai shuddered violently at the memory of the pain he experienced as they merged together. He looked around, in perfect control of the body like he'd demanded. It was strange having so much mass and four arms, yet he could perfectly control all four as if he'd been born with them.

He tilted his head as he realized their was more information in his skull than he'd had before. He knew everything that Overhaul had known. As the primary mind he'd suborned Overhaul's and had the control.

Kai's lips curled into a vicious grin. He'd done it! A major step on his path to victory accomplished! He focused on the knowledge he'd gained from Chisaki on how to use the Overhaul Quirk. It helped but he had a much better idea, now that he was the primary, there was nothing Chisaki could do to split them apart, "Edict, I know everything I need to know in order to use the Overhaul Quirk to its limits."

As the Edict binding Chisaki ended, Kai could feel a minor struggle coming from him, it wouldn't be enough. The next moment, his mind was flooded with an ocean of information as all the possible ways he could use Overhaul filled it. It was impossible for him to parse all of the information, so he didn't try. Instead, he looked for just the information he currently needed. It was easy to find and he quickly put it into action.

There was another burst of energy as Kai split himself and Chisaki into two separate beings once more. It was another agonizing moment as their bodies were ripped apart and then reassembled. On the outside there was no apparent difference between before they merged. On the inside, they were completely different. Kai had used the knowledge granted to him to split them apart while keeping the Overhaul Quirk for himself along copies of all the knowledge Chisaki had that Kai desired.

Kai had to admit that Chisaki was a genius. The things the man knew, the research he was doing, it was all pretty brilliant. It was also amoral, disgusting, and proved that Chisaki didn't have a redeemable bone in his body. He was a sick fuck through and through, which made what Kai was about to do that much easier.

Chisaki was still in shock from recent events making it easy for Kai to grab his hand and utilize Overhaul. Chisaki didn't even get a moment to beg for his life before Kai ripped him to shreds. However, he didn't simply murder Chisaki, that would be such a waste. No, He utilized his new knowledge and Chisaki's remains to enhance his own body.

The calcium from Chisaki's bones was added to Kai's own, but all of it was restructured into a crystalline formation that would make his bones nearly unbreakable. The proteins from Chisaki's muscles were added to Kai's while they were all restructured into a significantly more lean and compact form that kept him from bulking up yet still greatly increased his physical strength to something no normal human could hope to achieve.

Dozens of other, similar, operations took place to enhance and modify Kai's body into something greater than any non-mutant human could hope to have. Even better, control over Overhaul made it simply enough to overwrite his own pain receptors to make the operation painless. When the process was finished, Kai stood in a small puddle of gore as a completely new man.

He'd gone from a skinny teenager to one with a physique that would make anyone jealous. He still looked like himself, but he was a little taller, a lot stronger, and a lot more durable. He was pretty certain that he could get into a fight with Rappa and win. Not necessarily easily, but Overhaul gave him unlimited perfect instant regeneration. As long as he had one arm and wasn't insta-killed, he could heal himself of any injuries.

Kai stood in the puddle of Chisaki's bloody remains and looked down at his hands. He slowly curled them into fists, feeling his changed and enhanced muscles, tendons, sinews, and bones all shifting. He could feel the stark difference in his strength. He had no idea how much stronger he'd made himself, but it was significant. He curled his arms and looked at his bulging biceps, so well defined he could practically see the muscle's texture through his skin.

After admiring himself for a few minutes, Kai turned to one of the walls in the office and placed his hand on it. A flash of Overhaul had the wall smoothly move out of his way to reveal a stairway leading down deeper underground. He walked down the path knowing it would lead him to Chisaki's private lab where be performed his worst experiments.

As he stepped into the sterile lab, Kai saw what, or rather who, he was looking for. Strapped to a bed was a small girl, no older than five or six. She could have been his own sister given their similar hair coloring and matching eye color. Though she did have a cute little horn growing out of the right side of her forehead. She was wearing a simple white nightgown with her arms and legs wrapped in bandages.

At the sound of Kai walking toward her, her head turned and she was clearly surprised to see a stranger. The little girl, Eri, showed her resilience as she didn't hesitate to ask, "Who are you?"

Kai smiled as he continued to move closer to her, "I'm Edict and I'm here to rescue you, Eri."

Eri's already large eyes grew even larger at the announcement, "Really?"

Kai's smile almost faded at the sheer amount of hope that radiated from that single word. He pushed his desire to murder Chisaki all over again to the side and nodded, "Really. I just need to do one thing and we can leave here forever."

Despite the oddity of the situation, Eri just nodded and waited. No child her age should be so mature. Kai could sympathize after he'd been forced to grow up too fast himself. He made his way over to Eri's bed and began unstrapping her from it. Once she was freed, he reached out and took her hand in his own, "This will only take a moment."

Kai gave Eri a bright smile as he activated Overhaul and ripped her to shreds. He fused her small body into his own for just a moment then pulled her out and reformed her on the bed. He smiled brightly as he looked at his work. Eri was now in perfect health, all the damage inflicted by Chisaki had been repaired.

Moreover, he'd changed her appearance into something that would stick out far less. Her once nearly white hair that had reached down to her lower back was now straight black and down to her shoulders. Her once red eyes were now a soft brown perfect for pulling off a doe-eyed look to melt hearts. Lastly, she no longer had a horn growing out of her forehead.

Oddly, or perhaps not, Kai now had a horn growing out of his own forehead.

Rewind, Eri's Quirk was the second reason he'd gone to work for the Shie Hassaikai. He'd known about her and her quirk almost ten years before she'd been born. Rewind was an extremely powerful Quirk and he had plans for how to use it's power to keep himself alive.

Eri was busy looking herself over and staring at strands of her new hair in her hand, "Why?"

She looked up at Kai, her eyes widening when she see's a familiar horn that hadn't been on his forehead previously. She quickly reaches up and touches her now smooth forehead. Tears gather in the corners of her eyes, "I'm free?"

Kai smiled brightly and gently stroked her head, "That's right. I've taken your burden from you. No one will ever want you for your Quirk ever again. You'll now be free to live your life however you please."

Eri lunged across the bed and clasped onto Kai as she began to wail. He felt his shirt getting wet with her tears but didn't mind it. He hadn't fused with her long enough to see her entire life, but what little he had seen was enough. Eri had suffered horribly because of her Quirk. The things Chisaki had done to her were crimes of the worst sort. Anyone who didn't believe a piece of trash like him deserved to die was a monster by proxy.

At least, that's how Kai felt.

Eventually Eri stopped crying and fell asleep, her energy spent after the events she'd just been through. Kai didn't mind in the least. He gently picked her up and made his way over to one of the nearby walls. He didn't feel like going through the base where he could encounter anyone else. He was officially done with Shie Hassaikai anyway.

Not that he expected them to last very long without Overhaul in charge.

He simply made his own exit by using Overhaul to create a new tunnel. He made sure to close the path behind himself so no one could follow him. Frankly speaking, Overhaul was one hell of a powerful Quirk. It had some limitations, but they were easy enough to work around. Still, he knew its weaknesses, thus taking Eri's Quirk for himself. With it he could easily undo any damage that could possibly take away his arms to stop him using Overhaul. Between Edict, Overhaul, and Rewind he had all the power he could ever want.

Still, the enemy in the shadows was not one that could be underestimated. Now that he had personal power, he needed allies. Fortunately, he had a plan for that as well. Until then though, he would need to hide out and bide his time for a bit.

-Line Break-

Eri yawned as she woke up. She'd just had a nice nap with the most wonderful dream. A hero, who looked like he could be her older brother, had come to rescue her from her prison. It was a nice dream, one she had often. Though the hero was usually All Might or someone that looked like him. She let out another sigh and finally opened her eyes. She'd learned long ago that putting off the inevitable always made waking up worse.

As her eyes adjusted to the light, she froze. This... was not her room.

She quickly sat up in surprise, only to be further surprised that she was sitting up and not strapped down like she usually was. She frantically looked around to try and figure out what was happening. First, she was clearly in a house, probably the living room. She was on a couch and in front of her was a coffee table and in front of that was a TV stand with a huge flat screen TV on it.

Her head spun to the other side to look over the back of the couch. She saw a nice dining room with an open kitchen that had a breakfast bar beyond it. Everything was nice and new looking with tasteful decorations here and there.

So, she was definitely in someone's house. A nice house from the looks of it. Or maybe a really big apartment? She wasn't sure which it was, but it was nice either way.

As she looked at the kitchen, the hero who'd saved her came walking through a doorway in the living room. He paused and turned to look at her with a smile, "Welcome back to the land of the living Eri."

Tears immediately sprang to her eyes. It hadn't been a dream! A hero had saved her!

Kai walked over to Eri and gently pat her head, "No need for tears, you're safe now. Welcome to your new home."

Eri blinked her tears away and looked up at him with an almost reverential look on her face, "Home?"

Kai nodded and walked over to the dining room table and pulled out a chair to sit down, "Yup, home. If you want. It's up to you really. You can live here with me, go to school, live a normal life here. Or, I can take you to the nearest police station where they can do whatever it is they do with lost children. Find your family I guess?"

"I don't have any family."

Kai grimaced, "Probably an orphanage then. But hey, you can live in one with other kids. Though kids can be dicks and you're now technically Quirkless. Not that that should matter. But, like I said, kids are dicks."

Eri fidgeted. She couldn't remember ever having a choice before but it didn't take her long to make one, "I want to stay here."

Kai nodded absently and just accepted it, "No problem. I've got a bedroom for you and some clothes. Though we'll need to go shopping to get you some more stuff. I didn't want to get too much, in case you wanted something different looking."

Kai smiled to himself. They always told kids that crime didn't pay. What they should really say is that petty crime didn't pay. Real crime? Big time crime? That paid a fortune. Kai had been the biggest seller in charge of the biggest drug ring for the Shie Hassaikai. He'd been suitably compensated. Not only that, but it put him in touch with all kinds of people with all kinds of skills. Skills such as forging fake identities.

Such a fake identity had been used to purchase the small house he'd brought Eri to. It had no relationship to his real identity and was well hidden by a few shell companies and an offshore account. Kai wasn't filthy rich, but he had a few hundred million yen in a couple of offshore accounts. Crime really did pay.

Okay, so it wasn't just crime that provided his funds. Edict might have helped a bit by letting him know what companies were worth investing in. It was a blatant cheat and he'd sunk every bit of cash he could spare into investments for the last few years. Granted it had been hard as hell to find someone shady enough to do the trades for him yet trustworthy enough to not rip him off completely. At least until he had a fake identity solid enough for online trading to be valid.

Edict was the ultimate cheat.

Kai looked at Eri and noticed that she looked like she wanted to ask something but was holding back. He gave her a soft smile to encourage her, "Go ahead and ask me anything Eri. I promise to answer as best I can and to never get mad. No matter what, this place will be your home for as long as you want."

Eri, still looking nervous, asked, "Why did you rescue me?"

Kai leaned back in his chair with a sigh, "It's a long story."

"Tell me?"

He looked over to Eri to see a curious yet determined look on her face. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling while placing his hands behind his head, "Well, it began when I was about your age..."

-Line Break-

Kai sat in his seat behind his desk doing his best to not bounce in excitement. School had been so much fun so far! He got to play with his friends and learn all kinds of awesome things! It did suck that he didn't know what his Quirk was yet, but the doctor swore that he should have one. They just needed to find out what it was!

It did make him feel a little bad for the kid with the green hair though. The other kids said he was Quirkless. The doctor said he would never have a Quirk. That's sad. Everyone should have a Quirk! Of course, not all Quirks were the same and the other kid with hair almost like his had a Quirk that let him make cool popping sounds with his hands!

That guy was a jerk though. Not someone Kai wanted to be friends with.

None of that mattered though! Today was the first time they would be taking a test on their writing skills! He'd been practicing super hard with his mommy and was going to get the best score EVER! Once he got his copy of the test he did what his mommy had told him to do to make sure he did his best! He took a deep breath and slowly let it out while saying, "I am the smartest boy in the world!"

It was a little thing his mommy told him to do because as long as he said it and believed it then it was true! He took another breath. He was the smartest boy ever, he really believed it with all his heart as he whispered to himself, "I am the smartest boy in the world!"

When the teacher said to start, he flipped his test over and smiled. It was so EASY! He knew all of this. This was baby stuff! He couldn't help looking around to see if everyone else thought it was easy too. Imagine his surprise when Deku, the green haired Quirkless kid, one of the smarter kids looked like he was struggling.

Kai frowned and looked around a bit more. The blonde explosion kid... Bakugo? Whatever. He might be an asshole but he was pretty smart. Wait... what's an asshole and why did he think Bakugo was one...

OH!

That's right, he once heard mommy call someone an asshole, she didn't want him talking like that. Well regardless, the test looked way too easy. He knew he was smart, but he also knew he wasn't the smartest in the class. Not until he said he was...

His Quirk! Wait, how did he know that? Well it just made sense, right? He'd heard of Quirks that made people smarter. Was he smarter because of his Quirk?

Yes! But also no. He didn't know how but he kind of understood that his Quirk wasn't being smarter but his Quirk did make him smarter. It made him smarter... because he said it did! His Quirk did what he said it would! If his Quirk did what he said... then... OH! Best idea ever! He took a breath and focused. He believed with all his might as he whispered, "I know everything about my Quirk!"

Kai's eyes widened as a rush of information flooded into his brain. He just suddenly knew everything about his Quirk!

AND. IT. WAS. AWESOME!

He didn't quite understand the bigger concepts about it, he wasn't the smartest boy in the world anymore. But he was smart enough to write down everything he could about it. He might not be the smartest boy in the world right now, but he could be in a few minutes and then he could understand his Quirk better!

Oh, but first, he had to do the stupid test. He looked back at it and frowned. Okay, so it wasn't as easy as he'd first thought. Not being super smart made the test a lot harder. He wasn't sure if making himself super smart again would be cheating or not. People weren't supposed to use their Quirks without permission so... probably cheating.

With that decided, he chose not to change his Quirk to make himself the smartest ever again. Unfortunately, this meant that he didn't have enough time to finish the whole test. He'd wasted a lot of time just sitting there thinking and playing with his Quirk. He was too excited to be too worried about that though!

He was good and paid attention until lunch time like a good boy. Once lunch came around though he took off from the classroom to go to the library. He needed to know what some of the words in his head meant so he could know more about his Quirk! It was important! He could eat some food later.

The library wasn't very advanced, not like a high school or college one would be, but it did have a dictionary, a full set of encyclopedias and a few computers with limited access to the internet. Kai went right for the dictionary and began looking up words that he didn't understand. It took almost the entirety of lunch time, but he finally understood his Quirk!

His Quirk made one thing he said become real. If he used his Quirk and said he was the smartest in the world, then he was the smartest in the world! If he said he was an adult, he would become an adult! So cool! If he said he had another Quirk, like Bakugo's explosions, then he had it! However, if he made himself an adult then gave himself another Quirk, he would become a kid again. Only one statement at a time would work.

There were other rules too, like he couldn't affect a specific individual without being able to see them. He couldn't change the past. He couldn't kill anyone with it, not that a good boy like him would ever want to kill people! But, ultimately, it came down to the fact that his Quirk could only make temporary changes. The moment he made a new one, the old one would go away. There were some limited cases where changes were permanent, but not many. Of course, since he could erase gravity from existence, he wasn't going to complain about the limitations his Quirk did have.

Sadly, lunch ended and he had to go back to class. But, he wanted to try something he thought of. His super awesome Quirk could let him know anything if he said he knew it. So, with a smile he whispered, "I know everything Tanimura-sensei wants to teach to my class today."

All the information about his Quirk that he didn't study and learn for himself faded from his memories while new ones came to him. His Quirk wouldn't give him permanent memories, but if he studied what it showed him and learned it himself, then he could keep that information. He might not remember every single nuance of his Quirk right now, but he remembered more than enough from all his studying!

It was so cool to know everything Tanimura-sensei was teaching them already! Though he did pay attention and try to remember it all himself. He didn't want to forget the lesson when he changed his Quirk!

It wasn't until after school on his walk home that Kai had the BESTEST IDEA EVER! Kai threw his hand up in the air and exclaimed, "I know what kind of awesome hero I'm going to be in the future!"

Kai frowned as no memories came to him. He tapped his lip as he wondered why it didn't work. He stopped when he remembered he could know easier, "I'm the smartest person in the world!"

Now that he knew what to expect, Kai felt the way his thinking shifted and became faster. His knowledge base didn't change but the way he perceived the information he had at hand did. It didn't take him long to conclude that using the word 'awesome' to describe his future heroic career might not have been accurate enough for his power to understand. He changed his phrasing, "I know all about my future career as a hero aged twenty."

He chose twenty so it would be two years after he graduated high school and had a chance to become a professional hero. Unfortunately, there was no information coming to him. He frowned at that and changed his command once again, "I know what I will be doing at age twenty."

Again, nothing came to him and he began to feel concerned. He needed more data before he could come to a conclusion, "I know what I will be doing tomorrow."

A flood of memories hit him showing a typical school day with the only difference from usual classes being him showing off his awesome Quirk to the other kids. Otherwise, everything was fine. He changed his statement once more, "I know what I will be doing at age nineteen..." Nothing, "Eighteen." Nothing, "Seventeen?!" Still nothing, "Fifteen!"

Information flooded his mind and Kai instantly turned to the side and dry heaved into the bushes next to the sidewalk. The memories, they were horrific. He was some sort of monster! A black beast with its brain showing! He didn't have his awesome Quirk anymore, it was gone, and he'd been turned into some mindless creature. Worse, he saw the moment he was killed as that creature.

"I'm the smartest in the world!"

The memories went away, but Kai still remembered enough to know why he tasted bile in his mouth. He stared blankly off into the distance as he tried to process what had happened to him in the future. Thankfully, being smart let him compartmentalize the information. Clearly something bad would happen to him in the future to turn him into that monster. It obviously also happened before he was fifteen. The logical decision was, "I know what causes me to be turned into a mindless monster."

The new memories began when he was ten. He'd lived a normal life up until then. But then a man he didn't know kidnapped him after school one day. He was taken to another man in a suit that touched his head. It would be the worst pain of his life as the man stole his Quirk! That bastard would steal his Quirk!

It got even worse though! Once his Quirk was stolen he became a prisoner and an experimental subject! An evil doctor turned him into that black monster! Kai didn't think it could get worse, until it did. He was brought out to a battle between the evil man who took his Quirk and... All Might. The evil man used his Quirk, calling it Edict of the King, and used it to help him kill All Might!

Kai bent over the bushes again dry heaving once more as his stomach tried to rebel and expell anything within its confines. All that came to the call was acid and bile that burnt Kai's throat. It didn't stop the tears from coming. His Quirk was used to help a villain not only beat, but to brutally murder All Might. It was horrific and that evil man's laughter...

Kai knew he'd be having nightmares for a long time with that laughter haunting his dreams.

Once he recovered enough, he made himself smart again and tried to think of a plan. The evil man must not steal his Quirk! It can't be allowed to happen, ever! Kai knew he would need to become strong enough to protect himself and his family. To PROTECT ALL MIGHT! He had to save the life of the worlds greatest hero!

He took deep breaths to calm down and began to plan. He could make himself super smart to ask all the right questions. He could use his Quirk to get more information, to understand what he needed to do. The first step, never, EVER, telling anyone about his Quirk. Not until it was safe and he was strong enough to fight the evil man.

Kai spent the next month using super smarts and 'I know' statements to get all the information he could. He planned, memorized his path, and prepared.

"And then when I was ready I used Edict and said 'The world believes I am Quirkless.' to hide. I started my plan when I was ten by running away from home, not that that was hard. Being Quirkless caused a lot of friction in my family. If I'd stayed even another few months my parents would have divorced and my mother would have grown to resent me. So, I ran away. Intellectually, I knew living on the streets would be hard. I had no idea. Surviving out there, alone, for two years?"

Kai shook his head, "It was horrible and I nearly died several times. But! When I was twelve I got recruited into Shie Hassaikai as a drug runner, then seller, and so on. That was always my plan, to get close to Overhaul. See, without my Quirk, that evil bastard that would steal it, lost to All Might! Ha!"

Eri giggled at that while he continued, "With All Might still around, things wouldn't become nearly as bad as otherwise. Though, eventually, Shie Hassaikai would step on the wrong toes and end up destroyed. Since Overhaul was going to lose anyway, I figured out how to steal his Quirk for myself. It's exactly what I need to protect myself from that evil Quirk stealer. But, it also let me take your Quirk away. Sorry I did it without asking, but trust me, it's better this way."

She had no reason to argue. All her Quirk had ever brought her was pain. Kai seemed to understand that so she didn't mind him having it. Kai got up and made his way to the kitchen, "You want a drink? I got water, tea, juice..."

"Juice!"

Kai grinned and grabbed two juice boxes from his fridge. Once he passed one over to Eri, and showed her how to use the included straw, he continued, "My plan isn't over yet. I was able to plan the next couple of steps. After that though, I couldn't simulate what would happen. Something blocked me at that point."

Eri sipped on her juice before asking, "How did you know everything your Quirk told you was real?"

"Good question! I didn't at first, so I tested it! I had Edict give me lottery numbers for random states over in the United States. I wrote them down and then checked the results when the lottery numbers were drawn. I had a one hundred percent success rate. I did the same thing for the stock market and was correct. As long as I don't do something too drastic to change the results, then they will be what I see."

"That's so cool!" Eri had stars in her eyes as she looked intently at Kai, "Are you going to find more bad guys and take their Quirks too?!"

Kai smiled at the excited little girl, "Well, I can't handle any more Quirks. Three is my limit and even then I'm going to need to use your Rewind in order to not die young. If I take any more Quirks for myself I'll mutate into some hideous monster and everyone will have a bad day. Though I can take Quirks away from people without giving them to myself, so I'll probably do that for a some special ones."

He leaned back and tapped his chin with his finger, "I should probably pick a villain with a decent Quirk to transfer to you."

Eri blinked, "To me?"

Kai nodded, "There's lots of villains so there's no reason I can't just grab one and take his Quirk away to give to you."

It was something he was fully capable of doing thanks to Overhaul working down to the atomic level. He could completely rewrite someone's DNA from the ground up if he wanted to. Edict definitely gave him the knowledge to do anything he desired. Well, so long as it was within the bounds of Overhaul's capability. Taking some chumps Quirk and giving it to Eri would be a piece of cake.

Eri looked a little conflicted, "Do I have to have a Quirk?"

Kai glanced over at her then shook his head, "No, you don't have to have one. Life is just easier if you do. People are jerks about it. I, personally, don't have an issue with it. I was friends with a Quirkless kid until I ran away. You'll get to meet him, one day. I don't know how, but he got his hands on a pretty wicked Quirk."

He muttered under his breath, "Several good Quirks in fact."

It was future knowledge of Midoriya using multiple Quirks that led Kai down the road of getting multiple Quirks for himself. He just didn't understand how Midoriya could have so many while he was a little over his limit with just three of them. Sure, he could use Edict to make it possible for him to handle an infinite number of Quirks, but then he'd never, ever, be able to use Edict for anything else. Edict was just too versatile to be wasted in such a way. Edict, Overhaul, and Rewind were more than enough for him to accomplish his goal of ending the Quirk thief for good.

The conversation faded from there. Kai ordered some take out and the pair had a nice dinner together. After a nice bath, something Eri really seemed to enjoy, they called it a night.

The next few days were spent with Kai taking Eri shopping for clothing that Eri would like. It had been ten years since he'd been able to freely use Edict without fear of something going wrong with his plans. There was no way he was going to use it to figure out what clothing to buy for Eri ahead of time when he was five years old himself. It was hard enough memorizing everything he needed to know as it was. He'd had notebooks with the plan written down, but they eventually had to be destroyed so no one could happen upon them. From then on he'd had to rely on imperfect human memory.

Needless to say, it was a very scary five years without those notebooks to reassure him.

After getting settled in, Eri decided she wanted to go to school. She wanted to live as much of a normal life as she could. It made Kai smile happily for her. His own school experience had been tainted by Bakugo bullying himself and Midoriya for years. He had a plan to deal with the bully though.

At the moment, Kai was in front of the top of the line computer he had in his home. It cost him a small fortune but it was worth it as he said, "Edict, I am the greatest computer security expert and hacker in the world."

the familiar sensation of information flooding into his mind brought a smile to his face. He really did love his Quirk. He'd tried hundreds of tests to see a way to defeat the Quirk stealing bastard that would lead to his death, unfortunately the man was a certified genius in a very twisted way. Anything Kai tried failed. His only hope was secrecy and strength. Keeping his Quirk secret until he could attend Yuuei would help, but there would be incidents with villains that would lead to his Quirk being outed. After that... well it ended badly for everyone.

Even giving himself various abilities like being a precog, invisibility, teleportation, and more still led to him being captured. There was always so sort of blind spot or loophole in the various powers he'd tried that led to his capture. In the end, he decided that Edict alone wouldn't be enough. He was glad he had. Now he had a little sister to take care of. Which is why he'd made himself the worlds premier hacker.

First, he went through his computer's systems blocking off anything that was a security risk. Once his station was secure, he started laying down a false trail that hit hundreds of servers while wrapping around the world dozens of times all with the heaviest encryption he could manage. It would probably take someone like David Shield years to unravel his trail, if he ever could. He highly doubted someone like David would be tasked to look into what he was planning on doing.

He hacked into several government databases for the family registry department and added himself a little sister by the name of Yukimura Eri, age five, just moved in with her legally emancipated older brother. All the right boxes were checked, all the I's dotted and T's crossed. He even slipped her enrollment into a nearby school with an excellent staff.

He didn't worry about anyone noticing, people were too reliant on computers to remind them of things these days. Add a little reminder to the principals calendar for next Monday and Eri was all set to begin school. He even used their own systems to order several uniforms for delivery ahead of time. So convenient!

After that he did some quick investing by abusing Edict's precognitive abilities and an online trading site. Forging proper credentials was a cake walk. He could manage his own investments and accounts from home this way. He still wouldn't be filthy rich, that would attract too much attention. But, he could probably live pretty well on the wealth he currently had. A little more for Eri wouldn't hurt though, right?

-Line Break-

Kai yawned as he woke up, he tried to stretch, but his right arm was weighed down. He opened his eyes and looked down at the dark head of hair resting on it. He let out a little sigh and gently stroked Eri's hair. Even after they'd been living together for two months, she still had nightmares about her time with Chisaki. It wasn't every night, but often enough she would wake up from a nightmare and come to him for comfort and safety.

The first few times it happened she would wake him up, but he encouraged her to let herself into his room to sleep with him whenever she felt scared or had nightmares. On particularly bad nights he would use Edict to take away her ability to have nightmares and guarantee her a nice dream. It also led to him discovering that he could give himself awesome lucid dreams whenever he wanted. He didn't do it often, but when he did it was a lot of fun.

Despite what he'd done as a top tier genius child, he had still been a child. He'd discovered a lot about his power but there were still little tricks and things he had never thought of. Being forced to not use it for nearly as long as he'd had it left him figuring out things on the go. He knew he could change the very fabric of reality, but that left a whole lot of nuances an tricks he didn't necessarily think of right away.

Eri began to stir after a few minutes of him gently stroking her hair. The school year had just started a few weeks ago and she was having a blast spending her time with other kids. If Kai was going to school, he'd just be beginning his first year of high school. As a child he wanted to go to Yuuei like everyone else. Now? Well, a part of him still wanted to go, but it was too late. He'd been registered as Quirkless his entire life and just randomly showing up with a Quirk like Overhaul would raise a ton of questions.

Also, he didn't want to register anything officially and risk drawing the evil man's attention. It wouldn't do to have survived this long to fuck up now. He was certain he could fight back now, but why risk it?

Eri's eyes blinked open as she was gently roused from her sleep. Her head tilted so she could look up at Kai. A bright smile blossomed on her face, "Good morning onii-san."

Kai responded with his own grin. Eri had recently started calling him 'onii-san' and it still gave him a little thrill every time he heard it, "Good morning Eri-chan."

Eri sat up and stretched before hopping out of the bed, her nighty fluttering around her like she seemed to like, "What are you going to do today, onii-san?"

Kai climbed out of bed and stretched. Before living with Eri he'd preferred to sleep naked, but since she moved in, especially with her nightmares, he'd taken to wearing full length pajama pants. He'd bought a whole selection of hero themed ones since the silly pictures on them seemed to brighten Eri's day and remind her she was safe, "Not much. I need to go meet one of my contacts. He's been reaching out to villains for a job. I need to get in on it."

Eri frowned, though it quickly turned into a pout, "Are you going to work with villains again?"

Kai had told Eri everything about his life. She understood but insisted that he be a hero from then on. Kai didn't mind, but he knew he would need to do a few un-heroic things to make sure his life, and Eri's, would be peaceful, "It's more like going undercover. They're going to do something bad and I want to be there to stop them."

Eri studied him for a bit before nodding imperiously, "Then I'll let you do it."

Kai chuckled and waved in the general direction of her room, "Go get ready for school. I'll make breakfast."

Eri immediately brightened and skipped from his room to hers with a silly smile. Why? Because she heard Kai say, "Edict, I'm the greatest chef in the world."

She loved it when Kai used his Quirk for things like that! It was so cool! Without using Edict he was okay at cooking. It wasn't the best, or the worst, just average. But when he used his Edict to become the greatest chef?! The food he made could easily be sold for hundreds of dollars a plate at the most prestigious restaurants in the world. Her awesome onii-san could literally do anything and be the best at it!

Kai watched Eri skip away and chuckled to himself. He loved using his Quirk for such mundane things as being the best at something. Especially when it made Eri so happy. He made his way to the kitchen and went to work. His Edict granted knowledge and skills made cooking such a breeze. He barely had to think in order to churn out high end food.

Life was good.

Kai sat in a booth within a seedy dive bar. Across from him sat the man he was looking for, Giran. Giran was a middle-aged looking man with grey hair who wore glasses and was almost always smoking a cigarette. He was a well known broker and was currently working to hire villains for some secret mission. The pay was good and Kai was far from the first person to be in front of Giran. In fact, he'd had to wait in line! Clearly lots of villains were being hired quickly for something big.

Giran smiled at Kai, showing he was missing one of his front teeth, "Alright, what can you do?"

To answer, Kai pulled a block of steel out of his pocket to show Giran. The man just arched an eyebrow as bolt of electricity flickered across the block of metal and it was instantly reshaped into a razor sharp hunting knife, "I can reshape things I touch."

That... wasn't entirely a lie but greatly downplayed the true versatility and power of Overhaul. He specifically kept from mentioning that it worked on people. If he did, he knew he'd be attacked to be brought before the evil Quirk stealer. He was hurt, badly, and looking for a way to heal himself. That was the last thing Kai wanted.

Giran looked over the knife and then focused on Kai, "Anything?"

"Non-living stuff only. And only continuous solid pieces." Kai gestured to the wooden planks that made up the floor, "I could change one plank, but not all of them since they're different pieces."

Also a lie. He could affect the whole building since the pieces were firmly touching each other. It was only completely separate pieces he couldn't effect as a single object. The damage he could do to the roadways of the country was astronomical. Not to mention railways, power lines, sewers, and so much more. If he really was a villain, he could cripple the entire country in a day and deal trillions of yen worth of damage to it, easily.

Giran grunted, "Alright, here's the deal. Fifty-thousand for around an hours work. Transportation to and from the location included. Once there you'll be up against some brats who want to be heroes. Feel free to show them how the real world works." The smirk on Giran's face hinted at what he meant, "Pay will be given after you return. If you agree you'll be working for the League of Villains for this job, deal?"

Kai nodded, "No problem, as long as the pay is delivered as promised."

Giran smirked as he took a drag on his cigarette. After exhaling the cloud of smoke he nodded, "It will be." He pushed a card across the table, "Meet at this address tomorrow. You'll get your lift to the site from there."

Kai accepted the card. The address was located somewhere in the warehouse district. Made sense if a bunch of villains were meeting up. He climbed to his feet while using Overhaul to revert the steel back into a block from the knife shape. He was still impressed with the power that Overhaul gave him. The knife he'd made had been sharpened to a monomolecular edge. Of course, being steel the blade nearly instantly lost that level of sharpness just being moved through the air. He'd need a real metamaterial to preserve such a sharp edge. Regardless, it had still be the single sharpest steel knife on the planet.

Kai left the dive bar and made his way home. It would be a few hours until Eri finished with school and he would need to go pick her up. He had some last minute plans to put together for the event tomorrow.

-Line Break-

Eri sat at the dining room table doing her homework while Kai went over his purchases. The biggest was a large stack of printer paper. While Eri did her little bit of homework, Kai placed his hand on the stack of paper, "Edict, I know and understand every aspect of Overhaul and how to use it to its maximum ability."

Eri glanced up at Kai and tilted her head curiously. He didn't answer he unasked question. Instead, he used Overhaul to break down the stack of paper into pure carbon. His other hand touched his own face and he went to work. The first thing he did was disable his nerves. What he was about to do would be exceptionally painful otherwise.

The paper broke down with Kai grasping just the carbon atoms which he near instantly weaved into perfect carbon nanotubes. Once the CNT's were made, he began weaving them together into a sheet many layers thick just beneath his skin. He made additional layers around his bones, especially on the inside and outside of his skull. The layers were especially thick at places such as the orbital sockets of his eyes.

He was using one of the strongest materials known to man to make himself as bulletproof as possible. It wouldn't be perfect protection, sadly. Not without adding a significant bulk and making himself look... wrong. But it would be more than enough to protect himself from handguns and rifles below anti-material levels. The subdermal armor and reinforced bones, especially his skull, should be more than enough. As long as he didn't instantly die to a head shot, he could repair any damage he suffered either with Overhaul or Rewind.

As he thought that, he paused.

"Holy shit!"

Eri immediately scolded him, "No bad language!"

Kai looked a little sheepish, "Sorry, just realized something that's kind of a big deal."

Seeing Eri staring at him, he elaborated, "I just kind of realized that I might.. sorta... possibly... be... immortal."

At her continued stare, and his own need to parse the flash of inspiration he'd had, he started explaining aloud, "As long as I'm not instantly killed in some sort of accident or assassination attempt or something, I can't die. With Overhaul I can constantly refresh my body and prevent myself... or anyone else, from aging. I can do the same thing with Rewind, just turn back the clock to whatever point I want."

Eri looked at him for a bit before she shrugged, "That seems cool, but not worth swearing about."

To a kid, even one as mature as Eri was due to her circumstances, immortality wasn't a big deal. It wasn't to Kai either, not yet, but it was nice to know that as long as his head wasn't destroyed somehow, he wouldn't die until he was good and ready to die. Neat.

-Line Break-

Kai looked at the number on the warehouse and double checked it with the card Giran gave him yesterday. Seeing they matched, he let himself into the warehouse and came face to face with a massive group of villains. He wasn't sure exactly how many, but it looked like there were easily over two hundred villains. He'd guess closer to two hundred and fifty of them. He'd never seen so many gathered in one place. Hell, he hadn't even known there were that many villains on the loose!

He got a few looks since he was one of the few with a full head covering. He'd bought motorcycle leathers and a full head helmet to act as his outfit for this. He'd let Eri have some fun decorating the helmet. In hindsight, that was a terrible idea. The helmet was now liberally coated in stickers of unicorns, rainbows, butterflies, and other glittery things in bright pastel colors.

If Kai was serious about being a villain, he'd be looking for a hole to hide in as the nearest villains got a good look at his helmet and started snickering.

Since he wasn't, he actually appreciated it. No one there would EVER take him seriously while he was wearing the helmet. How could they? His head looked like everything little girls loved had been vomited onto it.

Kai ignored everyone around him, found a nice spot, and lounged around waiting for the main event. He was starting to get a little excited. What he did today would be the biggest move he could possibly make to give Eri and himself the safety they needed from his secret enemy.

He didn't need to wait long, a billowing black cloud appeared in the center of the wrehouse and quickly expanded into a large circle. A young man covered in severed hands stepped out of the portal into the room. He casually scratched at his neck while his blood red eyes scanned the crowd from between the gaps of the fingers on the hand covering his face, "So these are the mobs for our game?"

The portal flowed together to become a relatively tall masculine shape with a tall metal collar around its neck and glowing yellow eyes, "They are the best we can do on short notice Shigaraki Tomura."

The now named Tomura scratched his neck some more as he sighed dramatically, "They;ll have to do." He looked around, "Listen up scrubs!" That got a few mutters, but no one got in his face about it, "We're going to Yueei to mess up All Might and come punk kids! You're on kiddie detail."

A voice shouted, "So what? You're going to take on all might by yourself?!"

Tomura looked in the direction of the voice while he raised his hand. Another portal opened and this time a massive monster with black skin, a bird-like beak, and its brain exposed stepped out of the portal. It stood next to Tomura, a towering mass of muscles clad in only a pair of short, "This guy will take care of All Might, specifically created just to kill him."

There were mutters around the warehouse, mostly excitement. While there were other powerful heroes that could easily beat the crap of everyone here, All Might was a symbol. If they were part of the group to take him down they would be legends. Kai didn't know who started it but a loud cheer went up within the warehouse.

Before long the massive number of villains had been separated into groups that would be portaled to areas where their Quirks could be used best. A bunch of aquatic Quirks going to the water zone of the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, one of Yueei's big ticket attractions for hero students, for instance. With his 'shaper' Quirk, Kai was assigned to the mountain zone where it was basically a mountain he could reshape.

Traversing the portal was a nifty experience. There wasn't really anything to it. He just walked into it and immediately walked out in an area that looked like a mountain. He didn't feel or see anything. Too bad such a cool Quirk was in the hands of a villain. Maybe if he got the chance he'd steal it and give it to Eri, then she'd always be able to get somewhere safe whenever necessary. Something to think about later.

The wait after arriving was pretty boring. Kai and another half dozens villains were just milling around wasting time. A few of them were chatting with each other, but no one bothered talking to him. Kai blamed the sparkly helmet, not that he really wanted to talk to the villains anyway. It just might have helped the time pass faster.

After nearly an hour of waiting, the sounds of combat drifted to them from the central plaza. They all looked in that direction to try and see what was happening, but it was hard to make out details. They could see a fight happening though. The assigned leader of their area, some weirdo with dreads, spikes circling his shoulders, no shirt, and holding a huge knife, spoke up in a deep voice, "Alright! Time to fuck up some heroes! Get ready!"

The other villains got extremely excited and made a massive circle around a wide area. They wanted to make sure they had the kids surrounded right away. None of them paid attention as Kai stepped back a bit to kneel down and place both hands on the ground. He already had Edict activated to give him absolute control over Overhaul.

A black portal opened a few feet above the ground and deposited three people right into the middle of the villain ring. Kai took a moment to observe them. Two were rather pretty girls while the last was a boy. The first girl was... well Kai was very glad he had the helmet on to hide his blush because she was downright unfairly beautiful.

She didn't look like a girl, rather she looked like a young woman with a full figure that he was certain some models would kill for. That wasn't enough to make him blush, but what she chose to wear over such a body did. It barely qualified as a costume and reminded him deeply of the costumes that the pro-heroine Midnight used to wear. Before they made laws just for her. The girl had long black hair in a ponytail that spiked out with a single bang to the side. Large, sharp, onyx eyes stared out from a beautiful face. Her costume consisted of most of a red leotard with a huge split down the center that showed off probably a little more cleavage than was appropriate. That... was the majority of her costume along with a really wide double belt around her waist and red boots with modest heels.

The second girl didn't really look like she was wearing a costume at all. Her outfit wouldn't get a second look if he saw her on the streets. She was slender with purple hair was chin length with an asymmetrical fringe. Her outfit consisted of boots, pants, a shirt with strategic rips at the bottom and near he collarbones, and a leather jacket. Everything in dark colors but her shirt. The really interesting thing about the girl was her earlobes which looked like earphone jacks. Clearly a mutant type Quirk, but one with only a small visible mutation.

The last of the trio was the only male and he didn't look too dissimilar to the second girl. He had blonde hair with black streaks that looked like lightning bolts. His outfit, much like the second girls, consisted of shoes, pants, shirt, and a jacket. Everything but the white shirt was black with jagged white accents.

The trio of students recovered quickly, the boy having to quickly dodge a surprise attack from behind by a rather large brute in a mask. He ducked and scrambled closer to the girls while shouting, "Holy crap that was close! Who the hell are these guys?!" There was a pause when the blonde looked directly at Kai, "And is that one wearing a helmet covered in sparkly stickers?!"

Kai took that as his signal to act. He pumped a ton of power into Overhaul and rapidly changed the terrain. Massive holes opened up beneath every single villain. There were shouts of shock and surprise as every last one of them fell down the open gaping holes beneath them. Any that managed to try to escape, like one guy with stretching arms, he punched in the chest with rock outcroppings from the side of their individual shafts.

There were several grunts and a few screams as every villain fell ten full meters to slam into the unforgiving ground of their new prisons. Another flex of his power let Kai close off the shafts burying the villains alive. He wasn't a complete monster though, there were multiple small holes through the seven meters of solid stone that capped each shaft to let the villains breath. He could pull them all out later.

Kai looked to the hero students and was surprised to see all three of them armed. The girl with the ponytail had a long bo staff, the girl with the earphone jacks had a machete-like sword, and the guy had a baton that was sparkling electricity. The girl with the red outfit was the one to speak up, "What's going on? Why did you just bury all of those villains alive?" She looked nervous as she asked, "Are you going to bury us next?"

Kai stood straight and reached up to pull the helmet off of his head. He shook out his spiky white hair and gave the three hero students his best roguish grin, "My name is Kai and I'm here to rescue you."

Both girls blushed slightly though didn't let down their guard. The guy glanced from Kai to the girls and spotting their blush shouted indignantly, "Oh come on!" He pointed an accusing finger at Kai, "That's just patently unfair man!"

Kai smirked at the boy, "Well, I got some other business to attend to. If you'll excuse me."

He spun on his heel and took off at his fastest speed. As soon as he was out of hearing range for the trio he whispered, "Edict, I can move and react at just below the speed of sound."

The next instant he vanished in a burst of pure speed. He chose to limit the speed so he wouldn't break the sound barrier indoors. Still, that was over twelve hundred kilometers per hour, or over seven hundred and fifty miles per hour. It was not a slow speed by any means. It only took him seconds to run from the mountain zone to the central plaza. He was moving fast enough to take him time to observe the situation.

It did not look good. He'd arrived just in time to see the big black monster move nearly as fast as he was to appear by a middle aged looking guy in black clothing with a weird scarf around his neck. Kai moved right up to the beast and placed his hand against it's back. The monster had just started to turn when Kai caused it to explode into a massive burst of blood as he completely liquefied and detonated it.

Kai didn't want to cover himself or the middle aged teacher in a metric ton of blood so he made sure the explosion of gore happened away from them. If it just so happened to splash all over Tomura, well, that was just an accident.

There was a long moment of dead silence as everyone tried to process the fact that the massive monster that was about to ream the teacher had just been reduced to its constituent atoms. The silence ended when Tomura shouted, "What the hell did you just do you cheating bastard?!"

Kai glanced at the blood stained Tomura, then proceeded to ignore him and focus on the teacher, "You alright there sensei?"

"Hey! Don't fucking ignore me you goddamn NPC!"

The teacher, Aizawa Shota, aka Eraserhead, took a defensive stance as he stared at Kai through the thin slot in his yellow goggles, "You killed him."

"I said stop fucking ignoring me! Kurogiri!"

Kai nodded in agreement with Aizawa while a black portal opened up near his head with a desiccated looking hand coming out of it and aiming for his face. Kai intercepted the hand, Edict still set to give him lightning fast speed and reflexes, by stopping it with the tip of his fight hand index finger pressed into the palm of Tomura's hand. Before Tomura to even hope to react, Kai used Overhaul to eradicate both of Tomura's arms turning them into stains on the ground and leaving him with nothing but smooth skin where his shoulders used to be. Tomura didn't even have time to scream in pain at his arms exploding before it was all over.

Kurogiri wisely chose to open a new portal to drag a kicking and screaming Tomura through it. Shouts of vengeance echoed in the silence of the reversal until the portal closed. Aizawa took his eyes off of the now empty area and returned to studying Kai, who made no aggressive moves, "What the hell is going on?"

Kai clapped his hands together, "I'm so glad you asked!" He pointed where Tomura had vanished from, "That was Shigaraki Tomura, the 'mastermind' behind this attack. He came here with that guy," He points to the bloodstain that used to be the bird beaked Nomu, "to kill All Might. The big guy was apparently specifically engineered to match All Might in strength while countering him with its shock absorbing skin and super powered regeneration."

No, Tomura did not explain the Nomu, or its abilities, to the hired help. Kai got all the information he needed through abusing his favorite Quirk to gather information. He pointed from the bloodstained ground to his own face, "I heard about the coming incident and being the awesome-sauce dude I am, I chose to pretend to join the villains just so I could turn on them at the proper time!"

Aizawa stared at Kai with a not very friendly look on his face, "So you murdered the Nomu and destroyed the other guys arm? Why not just kill the other guy while you were at it?"

No, Aizawa was not endorsing the cold blooded murder of Tomura. He was pressing Kai in order to understand him. The flippant attitude the kid, who Aizawa put at the same age as his own students, was throwing him off. No one his age should be so blasé about murder.

Kai shrugged his shoulders, "With the Nomu it wasn't so much murder, as a release from suffering for the victim. Whoever the Nomu used to be was tortured and abused in ways I can't even begin to comprehend until it was turned into that... thing. Whoever the Nomu used to be, is infinitely happier now that their suffering is over."

Before Aizawa could continue to grill Kai, another voice intruded on their conversation, "Kai?" when Kai turned toward the voice it continued, "It is you!"

Aizawa looked to the new arrival, "You know this person Midoriya?"

Midoriya Izuku, the green haired hero and ex-classmate of Kai's nodded, "Yeah. We went to school together until we were ten. He was the only friend I had since we were both believed to be Quirkless, at the time."

Kai jumped in, "Midoriya! Dude! Congrats on your Quirk coming in!"

Midoriya looked a little green around the gills as he examined Kai's bloody handiwork on the ground, "You too... I guess."

"What the fuck are you doing here you Quirkless shit head?!"

Kai turned to the other voice, Bakugo Katsuki, the bane of his early life, "Oh look, the vicious Pomeranian bully is still a Quirk elitist. Color me surprised. How did you ever pass any sort of psychological testing to get into a hero class?"

Kai did not miss the subtle glances several nearby students sent in Aizawa's direction. Kai assumed it was some form of favoritism, the same kind that allowed Bakugo to get away with his shit in middle school, "Ah, shitty teachers that always looks the other way. Figures."

Before anyone could say anything else, the doors to USJ were blown off their hinges as a massive man in suit pants and a button down shirt blasted through them and landed in the middle of the plaza. Bright blue shone out from sunken eyes underneath a very distinctive hair style that was golden blonde and almost looked like two rabbit ears sticking up. All Might had arrived and he did not look happy.

He quickly took in the scene and, seeing no obvious enemies, focused on the group of people talking while standing in, or near, a huge puddle of blood, "Have no fear, I. Am. HERE!"

After spouting his classic line, he made his way over toward the group. Though oddly, to Kai, he seemed to be trailing a thin stream of steam behind him as he walked closer. In a professional voice he asked, "Aizawa, what's the situation?"

Aizawa, not taking his eyes off of Kai for even a moment answered, "We were attacked by a group of villains. They came here to kill you. When you didn't show with the rest of us, the leader decided to try and kill the students to draw you out."

Kai held up his hand, "That's not quite right. The villains came here about an hour ago and were spread out. The plan was to always split of and attack the students."

All Might's gaze snapped to Kai, "And how do you know that?"

Kai grinned brightly, "I came with the villains, of course! Granted I had no intention of actually hurting any students and I even arrived in time to save, Aizawa-san?" He gestured to Aizawa, "To save this guy from a really bad beating at the hands of a monster specifically made to kill you, All Might."

Aizawa glared at Kai and made to continue explaining when the other heroes arrived. They made a bit of a scene as Aizawa told them to spread out and find all the students at the various zones. Though, to Kai, it looked like most of them had already arrived. It was just a bit sad that around two hundred villains were defeated by a dozen students and one teacher. They were definitely Z-tier villains!

They were joined by a little white rodent, dog, bear, thing riding on Vlad King's shoulder. As hey got close the white animal hopped off Vlad's shoulder and onto All Might's. His beady little eyes scanned the immediate area before he asked the obvious question, his usually jovial attitude completely absent, "What happened here?"

Kai waited patiently as Aizawa explained the whole situation to both Principal Nezu and All Might from the beginning, including Kai's graphic defeat of the Nomu and Tomura. When everyone looked at Kai once more, they all looked deadly serious. All Might was the one to speak, "Why do all this, shounen?"

Kai shrugged his shoulders, "Well, it was the right thing to do. What happened to the Nomu had to happen. The poor thing was tortured and experimented on to become what it was. It was suffering and would continue to suffer in silence until it died. I also saved the students that were sent to the group I was part of. As for Shigaraki Tomura, well his Quirk was a disgusting disintegration Quirk that he would have gladly used on everyone here without a moments hesitation. Believe me when I say he is a completely amoral monster who only wants to laugh while the world burns."

All Might spoke up, "Your Quirk doesn't seem all that different to me."

Kai nodded, "Yeah, I can see where you would think that from what I demonstrated. But that's only the result of half my Quirk in action. My Quirk is Overhaul and it lets me break anything down and then rebuild it however I wish." His lips curled into a smirk as he tapped his stomach in a very specific spot, "I can heal as easily as I killed the Nomu. Just a single touch from a finger and I can put anyone back together and heal anything short of death."

There were some exclamations of surprise at Kai's claim. Though Nezu and All Might did not miss the way Kai was so blatantly patting his stomach while talking about healing. Both of them seriously wanted to know how Kai could possibly be hinting at All Might's well hidden injury. However, they didn't get to talk much more as steam really started to come off of All Might.

The large hero grit his teeth while Nezu hopped off of his shoulder and onto Aizawa's. All Might looked around a bit to see everything under control, "If you'll excuse me, there's something I need to do."

With that he took off at a rapid speed leaving a trail of steam behind. Kai observed all of it but didn't make a comment about it. Nezu spent his time studying Kai, observing him like a particularly interesting puzzle. As far as he could tell, Kai had never once lied, as if he didn't feel any need to do so at all.

There was some talk and Kai was invited back to Yuuei to continue their discussion of his ability to heal, after he spoke with the police of course. Kai agreed and a quickly whispered Edict to make everyone ignore the fact that he should be getting dragged away in cuffs on a murder charge, let him leave unmolested to join everyone else on the bus taking them back to the main campus.

-Line Break-

Kai sat on a couch across from Nezu, who sat at a desk on top of another desk. It was kinda cool looking. In the corner sat a skinny dude with long blonde hair and deeply sunken eyes. Kai knew it was All Might but deflated due to his injury. Nezu had been silently studying Kai for a bit before he finally spoke, "Back at USJ you mentioned your ability to heal while patting your stomach. I'd like to know why."

Nezu could have walked around the subject, been more circumspect and eventually got the the question in a more subtle way, but he judged that Kai would prefer getting straight to it. Naturally he was correct as Kai happily smiled while answering, "So you would know that I want to heal that big gaping wound in his stomach. I admit it wasn't super subtle but I've spent the last five years being subtle and I can't stand the thought of doing it anymore. I want to heal All Might back to perfect health."

Nezu had several questions but decided to start with the most basic, "Why?"

"Easy, so he can beat that evil Quirk stealing bastard once and for all!"

Both other occupants of the room froze for a moment before Skinny Might exclaimed, "Explain!"

Kai sighed as his shoulders slumped a little, "It's a super long story but it starts the day I figured out my Quirk, Edict."

Nezu interrupted, "I was under the impression that your Quirk was Overhaul. Are you saying you have two Quirks?"

"Three actually. I'll get to that, but I started with just Edict."

"And what does your Edict Quirk do, exactly?"

Kai explained Edict to the pair surprising them with it's power. Nezu was silent for a moment before he said, "I'd like a demonstration."

Kai nodded, "Edict, Principal Nezu's fur is blue."

The moment he said that, two things happened. First, Nezu's fur turned blue. Second, both Nezu and All Might realized something they'd brushed aside far too casually before. All Might pointed his finger at Kai, "You should be at the police station! You're an admitted murderer!"

Kai waved the accusation off casually, "I wouldn't get too worked up about that if I was you. You're going to be killing the evil Quirk stealer soon enough."

All Might looked offended, "I would never kill All For One! I only wish to defeat him and imprison him."

Kai gave him a bland look, "And yet, until recently you believed him to be dead by your own hand. Exactly why didn't you turn yourself in for murder?"

That silenced the room until Nezu spoke up, "If you would be so kind as to revert my color. I much prefer being pristine white."

Kai chuckled, "Edict, dismissed."

Nezu took a moment to run his paws over his once more pristine white fur, "Ah, much better. We should return to you explaining how you came to have three Quirks."

Kai nodded and explained his story from the beginning. He glossed over the unimportant bits but gave the details that mattered. He ended the story by saying, "So now I'm living with little Eri, whose properly going to school like a good girl and loving it. Thanks to the precognitive use of Edict I knew the attack on USJ was coming and signed up since it was the perfect chance to insert myself with you guys right under All For One's nose."

The two heroes took a moment to take the whole story in before Nezu started asking questions. Mainly along the lines of 'why didn't you go to All Might' and other stuff. Which always came back to 'because All For One would find out and get me.' All Might had been in America until his 'final' battle with All For One nearly six years previous. No way All Might would take some note from a kid seriously in time to save Kai.

Nezu finally asked, "So, you used Edict to gain Overhaul from Kai Chisaki. Why did you kill him once you had his Quirk for yourself? He would have been helpless then."

Kai leveled a stare at Nezu, "Because he was an irredeemable monster. Eri is his daughter. That didn't stop him from performing unconscionable experiments on her. It didn't stop him from ripping her apart and putting her back together over and over just so he could do the worst sort of 'science' on her in his pursuit of making a drug to erase Quirks. Just imagine what she's gone through, literally dying and being brought back hundreds of times. It's a goddamn miracle her mind hasn't broken down completely."

Kai let an awkward silence build for a bit before he continued, "I do not regret or feel remorse for killing him. Kai Chisaki was no man, he was a monster in human skin. I do not feel regret for killing the Nomu, but I do feel remorse that it had to happen. The young boy tortured and mutated to become the Nomu didn't deserve that suffering. I gave him peace, the same peace I would hope anyone would give me had I been turned into a Nomu myself."

Kai didn't let any silence build this time and clapped his hands together while grinning broadly, "Now! Shall we get to healing Skinny Might here? I'd like to be able to pick Eri up when she gets out of school."

Nezu held up his paw in a stop motion, "We should head to the infirmary for that."

All Might looked surprised, "You want to let him heal me?"

Nezu gave All Might a severe look, "I do not believe Kai has lied to us a single time during this entire meeting. I believe he is entirely sincere when he says that he not only has the desire to heal you, but the means to do so."

With nothing else to say, the trio make their way down to Recovery Girl's domain, the infirmary. When they arrived they found that recovery girl was not alone. Laying in one of the beds was a familiar mop of green hair. As they entered Midoriya spotted Kai and practically yelped, "What are you doing here?! The police were looking all over for you!"

Kai smirked, "I'm here to heal the skeleton. As for the police. Meh. They'll only find me if I let them."

Midoriya squirmed a little, "They know who you are, Kacchan told them."

Kai, still looking unconcerned snapped his fingers, "That reminds me!" He looked at Nezu, "I don't know what kind of shit psych evals you have in Yuuei but before I leave I'm going to prove why you need to not only expel that psycho Bakugo, but probably bring him up on criminal charges."

All Might spoke up, "Bakugo-shounen might be a bit... extreme, but he has shown a real desire to be a hero."

A bland look is all he got in return from Kai, "Alright, I suppose we can do it now." He turned to look at Midoriya, "Edict, Midoriya Izuku wants to explain, in detail, every incident of bullying he has witnessed Bakugo Katsuki perform to Principal Nezu, right now."

The floodgates immediately opened. Midoriya talked, and talked, and talked. He described a long term campaign of bullying of not just himself, but people that Bakugo deemed 'pebbles' or other such derogatory terms. A campaign that began almost the instant Bakugo got his Quirk and determined he was 'above' everyone else. A mindset that no one in his life seemed willing to correct. Then came the first major nail in the coffin that was Bakugo's heroic career, his 'suggestion' that Midoriya might get a Quirk in his next life if he took a dive off the school roof. What go Nezu staring daggers at All Might was when Midoriya described Bakugo's blatant attempt to murder him during their first Heroic's class.

Nezu's voice was like ice as he asked All Might, "Is what Midoriya-san said correct? Did you not only let a student attack another with deadly force, but allowed the match to continue after the attempted murder?"

All Might was sweating bullets as he answered, "That's... not quite how I would have put it..."

Nezu's glare intensified and Kai was beginning to feel just a little bad for All Might. He'd had no idea that Katsuki had been nearly that bad, but he was now even more glad that he'd forced the issue. A psychopath like that had no business getting an education that would make him even more dangerous.

Recovery Girl came to All Might's rescue when she tapped her syringe-looking cane firmly on the ground, "That's all fine and dandy, but why are all of you here anyway?"

Kai cheerfully exclaimed, "Oh! We're here so I can finally heal All Might and go home!" In the silence his statement generated from Midoriya and Recovery Girl, he added, "Edict, dismissed."

-Line Break-

Kai sat in a chair bored out of his mind. Recovery Girl had been busy doing a check on All Might and tagging him with all kinds of sensors while bugging Kai with questions. Yes, he had multiple Quirks. No, he was not going to go over how he got them all again. Yes, he was one hundred percent certain he could heal All Might with no complications.

On and on it went until All Might was finally ready. Kai hopped to his feet and walked over to the man, "I have no idea how this is going to feel for you." He took a breath and added, "Edict, I have all the power and skill necessary to use Rewind to its limits."

Kai shuddered as power and knowledge flooded his body, the small horn on his head shot up from about twelve centimeters to nearly forty and began to glow bright golden while letting of bolts of golden bio-electricity around itself. Everyone gasped in shock while Kai placed his hand on All Might chest and began his work. He didn't mention that just being near him while he did this was slightly reversing the ages of Recovery Girl and Nezu. Midoriya was far enough away that Kai could exclude him from his aura.

Everyone watched in shock as All Might very obviously began to de-age right before their eyes. It was a matter of moments for Kai to take All Might back half a dozen years and completely reverse the damage that had been done to All Might by All For One. It was fascinating to watch as All Might slowly changed from a skeleton, his muscles building up in the reverse of their loss, until All Might was once again a massive wall of powerful muscles. Kai didn't stop there though. He kept at it and only ended his use of Rewind when All Might was back in his prime, no older than his mid to late twenties. Kai wasn't exactly sure of his age, but he'd taken close to thirty years off of All Might's age,

"Edict, dismissed."

The glow and lightning faded from Kai as his horn shrank once again. His gaze swept over the three absolutely shocked looking individuals staring at prime time All Might. All Might was busy looking at his de-aged hands, opening and closing his fists to feel his returned strength on top of taking very deep breaths, like a man who'd previously been drowning would. He broke the silence with two words, "It's back."

Everyone but Kai stared in shock at All Might's exclamation. Nezu was the first to speak up, "Is it really back?"

All Might nodded, a very serious look on his face, "I can feel it. It's no longer just a small ember, it's a raging inferno like it had been until my injury."

All eyes turned to stare at Kai in shock. Kai, rather confused about what was happening, hid his confusion by smiling and preening under the attention. He thought about mouthing off, but held back... for now.

Recovery Girl moved up to All Might's side and began to examine him. She let out little noises of surprise as she saw the flawless skin where there had once been a major injury with no hope of ever healing completely. Her stethoscope started exploring the area while she hummed in thought. She checked readings on the various machines she'd hooked All Might up to, reviewing their findings. Eventually she looked at Kai with a lot of shock and a small bit of respect, "He's in perfect health. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was only in his mid twenties!"

Kai's smirk turned vulpine, "Because he is."

That got sputters of surprise from Recovery Girl, All Might, and Midoriya as they all tried to process the fact that I'd de-aged All Might by several decades. To add a little oil to the fire Kai added, "The splash back of me rewinding All Might probably deaged you and Nezu by about a year. It's kind of an AoE thing, but Midoriya was out of range so he's fine."

Recovery Girl immediately began looking at her hands to see if she could tell the difference, but given her age a single year wouldn't change overly much. The same applied to Nezu, though it was more because of his animal nature. Recovery Girl stopped looking at her hands and focused on Nezu, "I want him working for me. His Quirk is better at healing than mine could ever be. It doesn't heal, it erases the damage."

Kai chuckled, "Oh, Rewind is just for big stuff." He pointed a thumb at Midoriya over his shoulder, "Is he still injured? I could show you my real healing ability if so."

"He only broke a finger. I healed the damage but there's still some bruising and such."

"Perfect! Midoriya, gimme your hand."

Put on the spot, Midoriya looked back and forth nervously between Kai and Recovery Girl. Recovery Girl just made a gesture encouraging him to cooperate. Kai smirked and took Midoriya's hand in his own. A quickly whispered Edict to make him a master of Overhaul and he got to work. Midoriya hissed loudly as his hand appeared to crack like dried clay. The cracks quickly faded taking the pain with them and leaving Midoriya's hand in perfect condition, "There, all done. I even got rid of all the scars on the bones from previous fractures."

He eyed Midoriya skeptically, "Seriously dude, stop breaking your hand. That was a stupid number of fractures."

Recovery Girl was instantly on the job and had Midoriya's hand in an X-Ray machine in moments. It didn't take long for a digital picture to appear showing that his bones were in perfect condition, "Amazing."

Her head snapped to the side as she glared at Nezu through the green tinted visor of her helmet, "Now I really want him working here with me!"

Kai chuckled and shook his head, "Maybe another time. Edict, everyone ignores me."

Eye's immediately left him as he was summarily ignored by everyone. He could hear Recovery Girl shouting at Nezu demanding that Nezu find him and get him enrolled in the school right away. He wouldn't be able to keep the ignore field up forever, but it was good enough for him to get away. He wouldn't mind sticking around to chat with them more, but his goals had all been accomplished.

He was strong enough to protect himself and his new sister.

He had destroyed any chance of Tomura becoming the next Quirk stealing asshole, thereby ruining the current asshole's plans.

He had not only healed All Might, but returned him to the absolute prime of his power. Now All Might could fight at full power while the Quirk stealing asshole was still weakened. It would be a slaughter the next time they met.

And now, it was getting into the afternoon and Eri was getting out of class soon. He smiled brightly and whistled a jaunty tune as he made his way to the nearest bus stop. He was sure Eri would be happy that he decided to pick her up from school today. Perhaps a nice dinner out to celebrate? Yeah, that sounded nice.
