"Thanks again for doing this on such short notice, mom and dad." Anne said as she and Olivier dropped off several bags at the Boonchuy home.

The two of them, fresh out of college, had both been invited to take part in a conference; teaching for Olivier and another on zoology, veterinary and reptilogy for Anne. Fortunately, the same hotel was hosting both. On the downside, the couple of course needed someone to watch over their baby girl; Amity 'Willow' Boonchuy Clawthorne, a cheerful one year old, blessed with her mother's beauty, which was complimented by her blue hair and the mismatched eyes she got from her father.

"Honey, you know you can count on us to help with our grandbaby." Oum cooed at her daughter before taking her granddaughter into her arms. "Isn't that right, Ami?"

The blue haired baby beamed and patted her grandmother's cheeks.

"Honestly? A little hurt you didn't ask us first." Bee added as he snuck a small toy frog to his granddaughter.

"Well, with the restaurant and all…" Olivier chuckled weakly, now sharing Anne's embarrassment. The older parents simply smiled and hugged their daughter and son-in-law, being of course careful to not squish Am (who actually adored 'squishy hugs').

"We'll be fine." Oum assured them. "We managed with Anne, after all."

"…Letting that slide." The younger Thai woman said.

"Besides, grandparents get to spoil!" Bee beamed. "That and Emmie can handle a few days managing."

With that out of the way, Anne took her daughter back for a few more seconds of cuddles and nose nuzzles as Olivier gave his in-laws some pointers and packages.

"So, Ami usually goes for a nap around 2:00, her channels are 17, 20 and 38." Olivier read over his list. "I think…yeah, we gave you the Disney Plus password, she growing to love Bluey, by the way…gave you diapers, back up diapers and EXTRA back-up diapers…"

"Oh come on, Ollie; Ami can't be that bad is she?' Bee cooed.

"…Anne was." Oum reminder her husband, shuddering at the memories.

"MOM!" Anne shouted before remembering something and handing Ami to her father. "Oh! And these are the most important!"

She then turned around and then came back, producing two frog teddies that bore a great resemblance to…

"Addie! Spig!" Ami managed, taking the toys and nuzzling with them.

"If she ever gets fussy, those two will calm her down." Anne explained, hints of sadness in het and Olivier's eyes.

They missed their best friends; Sprig and Maddie. They knew they were doing okay in Amphibia and the land was prospering, but still…They wished they could meet their daughter.

Said daughter stopped nuzzling with her toys, seemimgly understanding what was going on.

"Mommy? Daddy?" Ami cooed in worry, although this worry was soon forgotten when the parents smiled and kissed her forehead.

"We love you, baby berry." Anne cooed.

"I love you!" Ami cooed back.

Bee and Oum enjoyed the sight; their little girl adoring her own baby, made witb the boy all three of them loved (albeit to different levels). That…and they were recalling how hard it had been for them to leave Anne with a babysitter for the first time.

"…Guess Eda was busy." Bee guessed. "Being Headmistress and all..Kind of a shame."

"Yeah. And I'm happy and elated for her." Oum said.

"…Honey…" Bee started, but before he could say anything else, the door was kicked opened suddenly.

"SUP, OLLIE AND THE BOONCHUYS?!" A vibrant, loud and proud voice called out.

The voive belonged to a tall, gracefully aging woman with eyes like Olivier, a figure many would envy that was somewhat hiding by the very 'pirate captain' attire she wore and lomng silver hair, complimenting the single gold tooth that jetted from her mouth.

"EDA?!" Anne cried out in delight, while Bee and Oum were surprised.

"Mom!" OIivier smiled as he went to hug her.

"Hey kiddo!" Eda beamed as she hugged her son; yes, he was a man now, but he was still her baby boy and she never tired of his hugs. "Glad we made it just in time!"

" 'We'?" Oum wondered; who could Eda have brought? King? Hooty? Lilith?

"Ba!" Ami beamed, reaching for Eda excitedly.

No one noticed Oum tense at that: A record and chalk board was scratched in her mind: To hear her precious granddaughter call Eda that before her? It hurt.

"Oh, there she is!" Eda beamed as she released her son (almost comically tossing him to the side) and moved over to the baby. "The most beautiful girl in all the worlds and cutest little troublemaker."

"Ah tut! Tut! Tut!" Anne said, blocking her mother in law's way and keeping her baby as far as she could before pointing at Eda. "Hand."

Eda paused looked and grumbled as she unscrewed her hook hand and replaced it with a wooden hand, then opened her arms to take Ami, nibbling on the baby's nose just as someone staggered into the house, gasping for air:

"Raine? Holy cow, dude! Great to see…ya?" Anne beamed at first before she spied the former Bard Head's contion, gasping for air as they geld onto the door for dear life.

"You…you okay, Rad?" Olivier asked Raine.

"Olwbert…fast….need…a moment!" The Bard gasped as Fenec, their trusty fox Palisman, tried to wipe the seat off their brows.

"Here, Raine. Have some tea." Oum hurriedly poured them a glass, which they took and smiled graciously for. "Sorry it's the boring earth style…."

"No complaints." Raine said as Eda walked over and Ami caught sight of them, reaching eagerly. "And suddenly it was all worth it."

"Eda. Raine." Oum smiled, somewhat forced for Eda. "What brings you here?"

"Ollie and Anne need someone to watch Ami, and I figured: You know what?" Eda explained. "I deserve a vacation and to spend time with my granddaughter, so…I declared a reading week at the University and we hustled on over here!"

"…You can do that?' Bee asked.

"….Why weren't you one of my teachers?" Anne asked longingly.

"Eda, I respect your choice and admire you care for Ami, but," Oum started. "Is that a…good idea? I can't imagine many would be okay with such a sudden turn."

"I tried to tell her, but…" Raine smiled knowingly, as Eda took a dramatic step forward and declared:

"I AM THE EDUCATION SYSTEM! And if I say the kids get a week off before finals then who is going to stop the second greatest critic and foe of Belos?"

"…Who was the first?"

"Why, my Ollie and Luz of course! Speaking of which you two, I texted Luz, so expect her and the best Blight to text and or call in the coming days and be warned: They seemed miffed."

Olivier already grimaced while Anne giggled, both already having an idea how said talks would go….

'I can't believe you didn't think to ask me to watch my own goddaughter!' Anne imaguinged Amity lecturing them.

'My own brother from another mother! And not trusting me with my own niece! The shame! The pain!' Olivier imagined Luz overdramatically chiming into that same conversation.

"Well, Eda…" Oum started. "We appreciate the offer, but..Anne and Ollie have left Ami with us."

"What about Thai go?" Eda asked.

"Please, we managed Thai Go right after Anne was born, I'm sure we can handle it with Ami!" Oum smiled at her granddaughter.

"Well…Anne didn't have magic." Eda pointed out. "And considering…"

Anne and Olivier had the sense to blush, and Anne slightly glared at her husband for somehow being convinced to share details of their honeymoon with his mother.

"How about! How about…you stay and help/hang out?" Bee suggested. "That way, we all spend time with Ami!"

"I'm okay with that." Raine smiled. "So, what kind of plans do we have in mind?"

"I'm thinking…." Oum started. "Muesuem, parks, a movie or two…"

"Urgh! So safe!" Eda groaned.

"And healthy!" Oum shot back.

"Oh boy…" Olivier sighed.

"Here we go…" Anne followed.

"40 seconds. Not even a full minute." Raine and Bee sighed together.

"Ami should be free to run around! Explore! Cause trouble for the neighbors!" Eda smiled.

"She is a baby!" Oum recounted.

"I let Ollie do all that when he was half her age!"

"This isn't the Isles Eda, and as powerful as you are now? You're still figuring it all out!" Oum recounted.

At this point, the two were glaring at each other, anger and annoyance clear….And then, they smirked.

"Alright then." The two grandmothers smirked as they turned their attention to their children and granddaughter.

"Looks like you could use some help, from the boss witch of the Isles herself!" Eda began with pride in her voice and using illusion magic to prop herself on a throne

"Check out Thai Go's glowing reviews on Yelp!" Oum quickly pushed Eda aside and pulled out her phone, which suddenly played a few video clips:

"Five stars!" An image of Ned said.

"Flawless!" An image of Mr. X smiled.

"Greater than great!" An image of Molly Joe finished, just as Eda took back control.

"Oh, with a splash of some Titan Blood…!" Eda cut in. "I wap-bam-boom, alakazam!"

"That doesn't really flow…" Raine noted as the scene shifted to the isles, where Boscha (now missing an eye), Odalia (destitute), Terra and Adrian (both oummeled) where being used as footstools for the former Owl lady and her family:

"Usually, I charge a couple hundred snails, but y'all get the family rate!" Eda, now dressed like a cowgirl, sang as she took Olivier, Anne and Ami into an embrace, squeezing one of her son's cheeks and booping Ami on the nose.

"Thanks, mom." Olivier smiled.

The scene suddenly changed to a perfect recollection of Thai Go, were the yo8unger family found themselves sitting with Oum and Eda being kic ked out.

"Who needs the outlaw, now that you've got the chef?" Oum smirked as her husband came in, pushing a cart filled to the brim with various meals. "Authentic Thai menu, free à la carte….!"

"Oooo!" Ami cooed as she reached for some

I'll rig the game for you because I'm the ref!" Eda declared, then snapping her fingers as two very baby friendly attractions appeared: "Ice cream fountains, Teddy beast mountains, that's just a start!"

"Who's been here since day one?" Bee suddenly burst in

Who's been faithful as a nun?" Raine followed, appearing in nun's robes before tearing them off and fiddling away. " Who makes you chuckle with an interovert pun? Your favorite musician?"

"That's true!" Anne smiled.

"I'm your guy, your day-to-day," Bee returned. "Your chum, your steadfast resteraunteer!"

"Did you know that I cured deafness today?" Raine added.

"Honestly we just wanted bto be included." Bee added.

"Yes, no beef, Bee." Raine smiled.

"Oh you!" Olivier smiled knowing before he found himself being pulled into a warm embrace by Oum and Bee.

"We're truly honored that we've built such a bond!" The Boonchuys serenaded to their son-in-law.

"Awww…!"

"You're like the son that we wish that we had had…" Oum cooed.

"Wait, what?" Anne and Eda both asked, albeit for different reasons.

"We care for you, just like an OC I spawned.." Bee added.

"WAIT A GOSH DARN SECOND!" Eda snapped, barely censoring herself.

"It's a little funny, you could almost call me…." Oum smiled evilly as she turned to Eda. "Mom."

Indigent, Eda then snatched Raine's fiddle and began to aggressively play as she glared at Oum, who simply handed Ami to Bee as she then sat down to play on the piano.

"Wait, when did mom learn jazz?" Anne asked out loud. Olivier just shrugged.

"They say, when you're looking for assistance…" Bee began the next verse.

Olivier and Anne suddenly found themselves staggering and struggling to handle bills, grocery bags, diapers and toys, on top of paper work from their careers.

"It's smart to pick the path of least resistance!" Oum finished.

"Others say, that in your needy hour?" Raine cut in, allowing Eda to step in front.

"There's no substitute for pure…" The Owl lady then transformed into her harpy form as glyphs danced around her. "…MAGICAL power!"

Ami looked on at her grandma in awe, as did Raine, still awestruck at their beloved in this form all these years later.

"Unless the safe ones just so happen to be blood!" Oum cut in, hurriedly grabbing the baby away.

"Sadly, there are times a birth parent is a dud." Eda smirked as she snatched a giggling Ami "They say the family you choose is better…."

"Only if they're failures." Oum snarked, taking the baby back.

"Can you butt out of my song?" Eda snapped, pushing Oum slightly.

"Your song?" Oum asked.

"Yeah, I started it!"

"Well, I'm singing it and I'll finish it! "

"Oh, you tacky piece of…!"

SLAM!

VROOOOOOM!

The door suddenly closed, and the two women turned to find themselves alone in the Boonchuy house as two cars drove away….and they realized:

"WHERE'S AMI?!"

Luckily, they found a note on the back of the door:

'TAKING AMI TO THE MALL. BACK AFTER DINNER, LEFTOVERS AND APPLE-BLOOD IN THE FRIDGE. WILL SORT THIS ALL OUT TOMORROW. BEHAVE! LOVE YOU WITH ALL OUR HEART AND SOULS, RAINE AND BEE.'

The two women glared at each other, not sure what to do without their grand-daughter but blaming each other for what just happened.

OWLPHIBIA

"Um…babe?" Anne asked.

"Yeah?"

"Did our folks just have an epic musical number over who's the better pair of grandparents to our baby?"

"Yup."

"…"

"…"

"…Honey let's be honest, that is not nearly the weirdest thing they could've done." Olivier noted. "Especially mom…..Maybe Rad, too."

"Fair." Anne noted, then smiled a sneaky smile. "And, since we're leaving earlier and neither or us has an official seminar until tomorrow…?"

She then inched closer to her husband, batting her eyes at him

"How about after we check in and order room service….we make sure the beds are comfy enough?"

Seeing as they were at a red light, Olivier smirked and leaned in towards his wife.

"Annie, you are preaching to the choir."

The only reason they did not make out right there and then was because the light turned green.

To be continued…

Yes, yet another entry to the 'Ollie Owlphibia' series; the most uplifting and comical yet. And one that has been in development for at least a whole year.

Hope it was worth the wait and has built up interest.

Next chapter will focus and Bee and Raine at the mall and will probably be among the chapters with the least drama.

Open to suggestions for what sort of hijinks little Ami and her grandparents get up to, so go crazy with them in the comments. And yes, the week Eda is taking off DOES allow for Luz, Amity, Willow, Hunter, Gus and company to get involved in said shenanigans! So again, suggest away! You will receive credit!

Also, yes, there IS the possibility of an Ollie-Anne lemon one shot, if enough people demand it…

Unjtil then? Stay safe!
