I've been a fan of the show Hunter since the very beginning (not saying how old that makes me, LOL!) Anyhow, the first several seasons were wonderful and I loved the chemistry between them. I always thought they were "friends with benefits" long before that term was ever coined. Season 2 was a pivotal time in their relationship, from "Rape and Revenge" forward. So this is my take.

After a violent criminal inflicts physical and emotional injuries, Hunter and McCall take time off for a little R&R. But even vacationing in paradise turns out to be vastly different from what they had expected. Set in mid-season five. Minor character death. Rated T for adult language, violence and sexual situations.

Hunter, McCall, a murder, a storm, the flu, the recovery, and the case solved. Terrible title and summary, but give it a shot.

Hunter deals with his inner turmoil following Dee Dee being shot and paralyzed. Obviously takes place in Season 3, during the "Hot Pursuit" timeline.

Dee Dee makes a crucial decision after a traumatic event. Just a little vignette of how she comes to it. Takes place in Season 4, during "City of Passion", to be precise.

The unimaginable has happened, HUNTER is retiring! Not one for public speaking he pours his heart out to those closest to him. But is this a time for old endings or new beginnings?

My version of why McCall would have left Hunter (the show's poor excuse for it never exists here).

In the season six episode Unfinished Business, we discover that Hunter and McCall shared an intimate night together. This is their story. Rated Teen for language and sexual situations.

I started watching Hunter a few months ago and I love Rick and Dee Dee. They needed a happy ending. My first and last fanfic for them. I just had to write something.

It seems only natural that Hunter and McCall would turn to each other during a crisis. But when McCall gets engaged at the same time Hunter is diagnosed with cancer, she is forced to choose between the family she wants and caring for her best friend in what could be his last days. How will this choice affect their relationship when Hunter is healthy again?

Take the events of 1987 (1 kidnapping and beating, 1 shot to the back, 1 attempted rape, 1 one-night stand), and add assorted relatives. Stir and behold the glorious mess.
