Junior's Division Quarterfinals
It is the next day at the Manalo Stadium where the quarterfinals of the Alola League Junior's Divison is about to begin. The Eds, their families, Jimmy's parents, and Maxiley were in the audience. Eddy's brother sat there with his arms crossed and his lips swollen.
"That woman you hit on sure had a good right hook." said Eddy's father.
"Whatever; that chick doesn't know what he's missing turning me down." muttered Eddy's brother.
"More like dodged a bullet." said Eddy's father.
"Ladies and gentlemen." said an announcer.
"And whatever my brother is." muttered Eddy. On the battlefield, Sarah stood on one end of it while a girl with blonde hair, wearing a blue sundress and light blue sandals stood on the other end.
"The quarterfinal round of the Junior's Division is now underway." said the announcer. "The first trainers of the quarterfinals battling is Sarah from Peach Creek, USA and Kaimana from Seafolk Village." An official walks to the center of the battlefield.
"You will each use one Pokemon." said the official. "Both will battle until one Pokemon defeats the other; the trainer whose Pokemon is still standing will be the winner. Let the match begin." The offical walks out of the arena.
"Go, Sarah!" cheered Ed.
"You can do it, sweetie!" said Ed and Sarah's father. Sarah pulls out a pokeball while Kaimana pulls out a Dive Ball.
"Ledian, go!" said Sarah, throwing Ledian's pokeball and releasing her.
"Sarah brings out a Ledian." said the announcer.
"Go, Corsola!" said Kaimana, throwing her Dive Ball and releasing a round, pink Pokemon with a light blue underside and pink branches sticking out of its body. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at Kaimana's Pokemon.
"Corsola, the Coral Pokemon. In Alola, where their natural enemies Mareanie are plentiful, many Corsola have stubby branches on their heads." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"And Kaimana brings out a Corsola." said the announcer.
"Ledian, use Mach Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Corsola while her fist glows light blue and she punches Corsola with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Corsola, Rock Blast!" said Kaimana. Orange rocks form around Corsola and they fly towards Ledian.
"Ledian, use Reflect!" said Sarah. a square, rainbow-colored barrier forms in front of Ledian; the rocks hit the barrier, some getting through it and hitting Ledian, dealing super effective damage. "Now use Silver Wind!" Ledian releases a gust of wind with silver crescents from her wings and they hit Corsola, dealing damage; energy surges through Ledian.
"It would appear Silver Wind has raised Ledian's stats." said Edd.
"Corsola, use Bubble Beam!" said Kaimana. Corsola releases a beam of bubbles from its mouth and it hits Ledian, knocking her back.
"Ledian, Bug Buzz!" said Sarah. Ledian lets out a loud yell and releases red soundwaves from her mouth; they hit Corsola, damaging her; Corsola slumps due to Bug Buzz weakening its special defense.
"Corsola, use Brine!" said Kaimana. Corsola releases a powerful stream of water from its mouth and it hits Ledian, knocking her to the ground.
"Are you okay, Ledian?" asked Sarah. As Ledian struggles to get up, a light green aura surrounds her body. "Ledian's Swarm ability!"
"What does Swarm do, son?" asked Edd's father.
"When a Pokemon with that ability is low on energy, Swarm powers up the bug type moves of that Pokemon." replied Edd.
"Ledian, Bug Buzz once more!" said Sarah. Ledian lets out a loud yell, releasing red soundwaves bigger than the previous ones and they hit Corsola; due to Corsola's special defense being weakened and Ledian's attack being powered up by Silver Wind and Swarm, Bug Buzz did enough damage to knock Corsola out.
"Corsola is unable to battle. Ledian wins. The winner of this quarterfinal match is Sarah." said the official.
"Sarah's Ledian has defeated Kaimana's Corsola; Sarah will now advance to the semifinals!" said the announcer.
"That's my sister!" cheered Ed.
"Way to go, Sarah!" cheered Ed and Sarah's father.
"That was awesome!" said Maxiley. Kaimana returns Corsola to its Dive Ball.
"You did your best, Corsola." said Kaimana. She puts Corsola's Dive Ball away and walks to Sarah. "That was a great battle."
"Thanks." replied Sarah. Kaimana then gives Sarah pokedollars and both trainers leave the battlefield.
"I'm proud of her." said Ed and Sarah's mother, wiping a tear from her eye.
"You and your friends taught her well, son." Ed and Sarah's father says to Ed.
"You bet your sweet bippy we did." replied Ed.
Soon, it was Jimmy's turn; he comes out onto the field, followed by a boy with long black hair, wearing a black tank top with blue shorts and sandals.
"And now for the next battle of the Junior Division's quarterfinals; our opponents are Ho'ola'i from Tapu Village, and Jimmy from Peach Creek USA." said the announcer.
Both trainers go to opposite ends of the field while an official walks to the center of it.
"You will each use one Pokemon." said the official. "Both Pokemon will battle until one is unable to continue; whoever's Pokemon is still standing will be the winner. Let the match begin."
The official walks to the side of the battle arena while Jimmy and Ho'ola'i each take a pokeball off their waists.
"I hope we have a fun battle." said Jimmy.
"Me, too." said Ha'ola'i before he tosses his pokeball, releasing a yellow humanoid Pokemon with a big mustache, and two horns on its head; it had brown chest, shoulder, wrist, and knee guards, also it was holding a spoon in each of its hands.
"What is that?" asked Edd's father. Edd takes out his Rotom Pokedex and uses it on Ha'ola'i's Pokemon.
"Alakazam, the Psi Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Abra. If it trusts someone deeply, it will let them have one of its spoons. Anything you eat with that spoon is apparently delicious." said Edd's Rotom Pokedex.
"Ha'ola'i brings out an Alakazam." said the announcer.
"Ooh, spoons; so impressive." Eddy's brother said in a sarcastic tone.
Jimmy then tosses his pokeball, releasing his Umbreon.
"And Jimmy brings out an Umbreon." said the announcer.
"Umbreon, use Screech!" said Jimmy. His Umbreon lets out a high-pitches shriek that makes Ha'ola'i's Alakazam shudder, and lowers its defense.
"Alakazam, use Focus Blast!" said Ha'ola'i. His Alakazam gathers energy into an orange orb and launches it at Umbreon, hitting him, and doing super effective damage.
"Umbreon, use Assurance!" said Jimmy. His Umbreon leaps at Alakazam and strikes its chest with his paws, dealing lots of super effective damage due to him taking damage recently, and Alakazam's weakened defense. "Now use Quick Attack!" His Umbreon rockets towards the Alakazam and slams into its chest, sending it flying past Ha'ola'i and into a wall where it loses consciousness.
"Alakazam is unable to battle. Umbreon is the winner. The winner of this quarterfinal match is Jimmy." said the official.
"And Jimmy has defeated Ha'ola'i to move on to the semifinals!" said the announcer. Both trainers return their Pokemon to their pokeball and walk over to each other.
"Good match." said Ha'ola'i as he and Jimmy shake hands.
"Thank you." said Jimmy. After Ha'ola'i gives Jimmy pokedollars, they both begin to walk off the field.
"Way to go, Jimmy!" said Jimmy's father.
"That was amazing!" said Maxiley.
Soon, Nancy and a boy with brown dreadlocks, wearing a light blue tank top, blue capri pants, and blue sandals stood on opposite ends of the battlefield.
"The next battle of the quarterfinal round is Nancy from Hau'oli City and Kailua from Seafolk Village." said the announcer. An official walks to the center of the field.
"You will each use one Pokemon." said the official. "Both will battle until one Pokemon defeats the other; the trainer whose Pokemon is still standing will be the winner. Let the match begin." The offical walks out of the arena. Nancy pulls out a pokeball while Kailua pulls out a Net Ball.
"Wailord, go!" said Kailua, throwing his Net Ball and releasing a huge, blue whalelike Pokemon with a tan underside.
"What's that Pokemon?!" asked Eddy's mother. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at Kailua's Pokemon.
"Wailord, the Float Whale Pokemon and the evolved form of Wailmer. When a small Wailmer is attacked by Sharpedo or Dhelmise, its whole pod works together to protect it." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Kailua brings out a Wailord." said the announcer.
"That Pokemon's big enough to have its own zip code!" said Eddy's father.
"Come out, Emolga!" said Nancy, throwing a pokeball and releases a white Pokemon that looked like a flying squirrel with yellow flaps, and a black head and white face. Edd points his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Emolga, the Flying Squirrel Pokemon. As it flies, it scatters electricity around, so bird Pokémon keep their distance. That's why Emolga can keep all its food to itself." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"And Nancy brings out an Emolga." said the announcer.
"Emolga, use Charge!" said Nancy. Yellow sparks surrounds Emolga's body.
"What does that do?" asked Edd's mother.
"It not only strengthens the Pokemon's special defense, it powers up the next electric type move it uses, which is not good for Wailord since water Pokemon are weak against electric type moves." replied Edd.
"Wailord, use Water Spout!" said Kailua. Wailord fires a blast of water from its blowhole and it hits Emolga, knocking it back.
"Emolga, use Shock Wave!" said Nancy. Emolga releases a beam of electricity from its body and it hits Wailord, dealing massive damage due to water Pokemon being weak against electric type moves and Shock Wave being powered up by Charge.
"Wailord, use Water Pulse!" said Kailua. Wailord forms a ball of blue water in front of its mouth and launches it at Emolga, hitting it, and dealing damage; Emolga begins gliding around, dizzily.
"What's wrong with Emolga?" asked Edd's father.
"Water Pulse sometimes makes the Pokemon it hits confused." replied Edd.
"Emolga, use Nuzzle!" said Nancy. Emolga fights through its confusion and glides at Wailord while electricity comes out of its cheeks; it rubs its cheeks against Wailord, dealing super effective damage; Wailord begins to twitch.
"Wailord's paralyzed." said Edd.
"Wailord, use Brine!" said Kailua. Unfortuantely, paralysis stops Wailord from attacking.
"Emolga, Electro Ball!" said Nancy. Emolga snaps out of its confusion and forms a ball of electricity in front of it; it launches it at Wailord and hits it, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"Wailord is unable to battle. Emolga wins the match. The winner of this quarterfinal round is Nancy." said the official.
"Nancy's Emolga has defeated Kailua's Wailord; Nancy now advances to the semifinals!" said the announcer.
"The bigger they are, the harder they fall." said Nancy. Kailua returns Wailord to its Net Ball.
"You did your best." said Kailua. He puts Wailord's Net Ball away and walks to Nancy. "That was a good battle."
"For me." said Nancy with a grin. Kailua gives Nancy pokedollars and they leave the battlefield.
Later, at a hallway, Kailua and Kaimana were hugging.
"You did great out there, brother." said Kaimana.
"You did, too, sister." replied Kailua.
"Though in my defense, I was battling the sister of one of the Ed trio." said Kaimana.
"True." replied Kailua.
"Guess we have to be ready for next year." said Kaimana. The two break their hug and they walk down the hallway.
Back on the field, Nathan was coming out with a boy with blonde hair, wearing a white shirt and tan khakis, also white sandals.
"Our next trainers are Etana from Malie City, and Nathan from Hau'oli City." said the announcer.
Both boys walk to opposite ends of the battlefield as an official walks out to the center of it.
"You will each use one Pokemon." said the official. "Both will battle until one Pokemon defeats the other; the trainer whose Pokemon is still standing will be the winner. Let the match begin." The offical walks out of the arena. Nathan and Etana each pull a pokeball off their waists.
"Glaceon, let's go!" said Nathan as he tosses his pokeball, releasing a light blue, quadrupedal Pokemon with diamond-shaped, teal-tipped ears and tail; along with teal-colored hair on its head. Edd points his Rotom Pokedex at it to see what Pokemon it was.
"Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokemon, and the evolved form of Eevee. It can instantaneously freeze any moisture that's around it, creating ice pellets to shoot at its prey." said Edd's Rotom Pokedex.
"Fearow, let's go!" said Etana as he throws his pokeball, releasing a Fearow.
"Glaceon, use Ice Shard!" shouts Nathan. His Glaceon quickly forms shards of ice out of thin air and launches them at Fearow, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Fearow, use Drill Peck!" said Etana. His Fearow's beak starts spinning like a drill as it jabs Glaceon with it.
"Glaceon, use Ice Fang!" said Nathan. His Glaceon leaps up at Fearow and bites down on it; ice forms over the flying Pokemon is completely encased in ice, and soon falls to the ground.
"Fearow, break free and use Drill Run!" said Etana, but his Fearow remained frozen.
"Glaceon, use Quick Attack!" said Nathan. His Glaceon moves quickly at Fearow and slams into it, shattering its icy prison, and knocking Fearow out.
"Fearow is unable to battle. Glaceon is the winner. The winner of the match is Nathan." said the official.
"And Nathan has defeated Etana to earn the last spot in the semifinals!" said the announcer.
Both trainers return their Pokemon to their pokeballs and walk over to each other.
"You're strong." said Etana as he holds out a hand.
"How did you even make it this far?" asked Nathan, making Etana frown before he gives his opponent pokedollars.
"What a jerk." said Sarah.
"You said it, Sarah." said Maxiley.
Soon, all four semifinalists were on the field, waiting to find out who their next opponent was as they all glared at their respective rivals.
"Now let's see who's battling whom in the next round!" said the announcer as the pictures of the semifinalists flashed across the brackets until they stopped. Next round pairings were Sarah vs. Nancy, and Jimmy vs. Nathan.
"Looks like I'm taking you out of this tournament next round." Nathan said to Jimmy.
"I wouldn't count on that." said Jimmy as he glares at his rival.
"Tough luck, Sarah." said Nancy as she smirks at her rival.
"For you." said Sarah as she gives Nancy a harsh glare, making her rival look away with fear.
"I can't wait for this baby tournament to be over so I can show Alola how awesome I am." said Eddy's brother.
"Be nice, young man." Eddy's mother said to her eldest son. (a/n: Asking Eddy's brother to be nice is like asking the sun to be cold.)
Jimmy and Sarah will both be going up against their rivals in the semifinals. Who will move on to the championship match? Wait and find out.
