AU Homeland/Season 5. Canon until Season 5, except Quinn doesn't have a child since it never moved the plot. AU from the point after Quinn gets shot/held by terror cell. Story starts with aftermath of Quinn escaping that cell. Tried to write for Quinn & Carrie, but Quinn can't possibly have the love story he deserves with Carrie, so I had to create a new, less awful, woman for him.

In this alternative version of "Homeland," Peter Quinn survives the car shooting and is secretly saved by a team of doctors. Quinn plans to change his name, seeking anonymity and a fresh start. He yearns to know how his son and Franny are doing but understands the risks involved. He prepares to reenter the world, leaving behind his old identity, and embracing a new future.

In this emotional scene, Astrid visits Quinn, who lies in a coma. She speaks softly to him, expressing her regret and longing for a life they could have had together. Astrid confesses her love for him, her voice filled with sorrow and vulnerability. She reveals her wishes for his happiness and peace. David Wellington's resignation broke me. I'm glad he ended up sticking it out but for that moment and that letter hurt. Keane should have been able to have him stay. He obviously loved her and the letter proved it.

Post-S8. Another cold winter in Moscow. Carrie goes to a local bookstore with a holiday package to be sent to Professor Rabinow... Carrie/Yevgeny. Christmas poem.

David was starting to realise he should have kissed her at his place the first time she came over when she asked him to run the campaign. Now he has the chance.

Sept 2017 - No one is more surprised than me to feel the rest of this story playing out. Set Post 6.12, AU. What if Quinn was as resourceful as we all know he can be? And he had called in a favor just before heading to NYC with Carrie? I set my mind to figuring a way out of CF 6.12, and this fell into my head on Easter Sunday - the feast of the resurrection.
