A/N: Greetings. I do not own the rights to Pokémon. I wanted to do a reimagining of the plot of Pokemon Red and Blue. In this version, Red and Blue will be travelling together alongside Green, Blue's twin sister and an OC of mine. I will gladly accept any suggestions you may have for me.

At Indigo Plateu, a challenger had arrived to take on the Elite 4. He'd managed to take down two of the members at this point in time, two more to go, and he would become the champion of the Kanto Region. He stood in front of his adversary and readied his Pokémon. He threw out his first Pokémon, a Nidorino.

"I hope you're ready to lose, because I've been on a winning streak!" The challenger shouts excitedly.

"Oh my dearie, then it's a shame that your streak is about to be broken." The member of the elite four threw out a Gengar.

This battle was being streamed all over the Kanto region on the television. One such TV was being watched by 3 soon to be trainers from Pallet Town. Red, Blue, and Green.

"Think his Nidorino has a chance against that Gengar?" Red asked. He'd been cheering for the challenger for a while, but it did not feel like this battle was in his favor.

"Well, considering the fact that Nidorino is a poison type fighting a ghost with a posion subtype, I think Agatha has the advantage for this round." Green replied pushing up her glasses.

"C'mon you nerd." Blue said lightly hitting Green in the shoulder. "You sound just like Gramps when you do that."

"If you paid attention in his lectures, you'd sound like him too." She responded rolling her eyes at him.

Red sighed as the two of them bickered. At least this wasn't like when they were arguing over who got to name their pet Growlithe. They were arguing for almost the entire day before their mom had them play rock paper scissors. Green won, and that's how Scruffy got his name. He vaguely payed attention to them as the Gengar took down the Nidorino and the rest of the challenger's team. "Looks like the Elite Four are gonna stay undefeated again." He said as he turned off the TV. "You guys argued through the entire fight."

"Oops," Green said laughing, "At least you watched it. How close was it?"

"Clean sweep with her Gengar," He sighed as he leaned back. Ever since the last Champion of Kanto had disappeared without listing a successor, there hasn't been a single trainer who went all the way and became the champion. Most trainers never even got far enough to fight Lance. There have been talks of having Lance move up and letting Lt. Surge take his place on the Elite Four.

"Green, Blue, you two need to get going. You guys are getting your pokemon tommorrow after all." Red's mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Bye Red, see you tommorrow," Green smiled as she walked down the stares.

"Smell you later!" Blue shouted as he ran down the stairs.

Red sighed as he turned off the lights and went to sleep.

The next morning Red went down the stairs to get breakfast. His mom came up to him with a smile as she hugged him. "My son is all grown up!"

"Mom! I'm 16, I'm not a child anymore!" Red groaned as he pried his mother's arms off of him.

"I know, but you're going to be leaving for a while, I have to get my hugs in while I still can!" She said wiping tears from her eyes. "Promise you'll call me from the Pokécenters!"

"I promise!"

"And be careful on your journey!"

"I will."

"And make sure you don't forget anything!"

"Mom! I'll be fine!"

"Ok, fine! I'll stop being a Kangaskhan!" She handed him a plate of waffles. "I guess you really have grown up."

When Red finished his waffles, he hugged his mom once more before heading out to Professor Oak's laboratory. The Oak twins were already there and were once more bickering over who gets to choose the first pokemon. Professor Oak was sighing with his face in his hands.

"Ah! Red, since these two keep arguing about who gets to choose first, I figured you should choose first so that they can learn some patience."

"What!" the twins asked angrily as Red walked up to the table.

"Next time you two should learn to resolve your arguments without dragging it out for 20 minutes." The professor said as he chuckled. "Now as I explained to you in my last lecture, you will each get to have one of these three starter Pokémon. The Grass-type Bulbasaur, The Fire-type Charmander, and the Water-type Squirte."

"Hey Gramps, Isn't Bulbasaur also a poison type?" Blue asked.

"So you do pay attention," Green said somewhat surprised.

Red looked at the three Pokéballs and pictures before picking up Charmander. "I'll take this one!"

"Here Blue, You can take the next Pokémon." Green said figuring there was no real reason to keep arguing over who chooses.

Blue smiled as he chose the Squirtle. "Get ready Red, because Shellshocker is gonna take you down!"

"Really, Shellshocker, that's what you're naming Squirtle?" Green asked rolling her eyes. She picked up the Bulbasaur and sent them out.

"Bulba-bulbasaur!" She shouted happily

"Nice to meet you too Rose!" She gently pets her new Pokémon.

Red was getting ready to head out, but Blue stood in his way. "I wasn't joking, c'mon, lets battle! I wanna test out my Pokémon's skills against yours."

Red sighed and sent out his Charmander to battle against Shellshocker. The battle wasn't much of a spectacle as the two novice Pokémon didn't have any powerful attacks yet. In the end, Charmander was able to win the war of attrition, but it really didn't feel like a win. Professor Oak took both Pokémon to get healed. While they waited, Green bonded with her Bulbasaur before realizing that Red never named his Charmander.

"Hey Red, there are plenty of Charmanders in the world, don't you wanna make this one special?" She asked as he looked at his Charmander as the Pokémon recovered from that difficult engagement.

"Good idea Green," he walked over and looked at his Pokémon. "Good work today, Blaze"
