A/N: Hello everyone, it's been a while but I return with my next Code Geass fanfic. I have simply lost interest in anime hence the gap, but Code Geass is one I will always return to. I've become a big fan of "characters watch the show" stories and I've decided to throw my hat into the ring. I know there are few already, but sadly most haven't been updated. This will cover the original series meaning no movie. I will also skip the dramas and Akito the Exiled.

Everything was set. Following the deaths of Emperor Charles zi Britannia and the damned usurper Lelouch via Britannia, there was a real sense of needing to break with the past. The destruction of Pendragon allowed for a chance to do that.
Empress Nunnally vi Britannia had moved the capital to the city of Franklin named in honor of the heroic Benjamin Franklin as a tribute for his betrayal of the rebellious Continental Congress/Army and George Washington. The new city was built on the banks of the banks of the Potomac and served as the capital until Pendragon was built. Now, it was the capital again.
"I wonder why Kallen asked for this." mused Nunnally.
The young empress was waiting with her assistant Sayoko Shinozaki. Suzaku Kururugi...um Zero...was by her side.
"I am not sure." said Sayoko.
"Whatever reason she has...I am sure it is good." said Zero.
It was long until the first guests arrived: her half - sister Cornelia and her husband Gilbert Guilford.
"I am so glad you made it." said Nunnally.
"Well, I don't mind being here." said Cornelia.
"You do have a kind side no matter what anyone says." said Nunnally.
"Excuse me, but didn't we interrupt your honeymoon?" asked Sayoko.
"I was bored in Jamaica." answered Cornelia.
"And I am glad to follow my princess." added Guilford.
"Your majesty, how where your talks with Australia?" asked Gulford.
"The Australian government is willing to agree to a trade treaty albeit with caution." answered Nunnally.
"The lack of a conquest has worked in our favor." mused Cornelia.
The door opened again with Lloyd, Cecile, and Nina arriving.
"We're here!" cried Lloyd.
"I hope we haven't missed anything." said Cecile.
"No. We haven't started yet." said Zero.
"Nina, how are you?" asked Nunnally.
"Good. We're working really hard on a new type of commercial air transport." answered Nina excitedly.
"Nina is quiet the brilliant mind." added Lloyd.
"I'm not as brilliant as you." said Nina humble.
"Unlike some people, she has humility." said Cecile.
"Oh. That hurt." replied Lloyd dramatic.
A little later, Milly and Rivalz arrived. They were joined by Gino.
"It's so good to see you, Nina." said Milly.
"Thanks." replied Nina.
How are you?" asked Rivalz.
"I'm fine, what about you?" asked Nina.
"Milly is still the top newscaster on Japan's Hi - TV branch." answered Rivalz.
"My great cameraman helps." noted Milly.
Rivalz blushed.
"Lord Weinberg, how are our relations with Japan?" asked Cornelia.
"Prime Minister Oghi had no problem accepting me as ambassador and we've managed to hold okay relations considering what happened." answered Gino.
"I knew you would be a good choice." said Zero.
"With the Knights of the Round disbanded, I needed something to do." shrugged Gino.
"I still cannot believe you did that, Empress." said Cornelia annoyed.
"It was for the best." stated Nunnally.
A little time passed before the next group arrived: Japanese Prime Minister Oghi, his wife Villetta, Tohdoh, his wife Chiba and Tamaki. An awkward feeling fell over the group.
"Hello Mr. Prime Minister and everyone." said Nunnally.
"Hello to you." replied Oghi.
Oghi and Nunnally shook hands in a sign of respect.
"I am glad you made it." said Nunnally.
"We came out of respect for Kallen." stated Chiba.
"Plus getting to check out a palace isn't bad." said Tamaki.
Tamaki looked around.
"There is any booze?" asked Tamaki.
"Tamaki." said Oghi sternly.
"I am afraid there will be no alcohol." answered Nunnally.
"Aw man." sighed Tamaki.
Meanwhile, Tohdoh and Cornelia hadn't taken their eyes off each other.
"I must admit, we never had a chance to talk formally before." said Tohdoh.
"I want you to know that, despite our being on different sides for most of these conflicts, I have to respect your ability in combat." said Cornelia.
"I feel the same." replied Tohdoh.
"I am happy our relationship is improving." said Nunally.
"So am I." agreed Oghi.
"When will Japan being receiving reparations?" asked Chiba angrily.
"Never." answered Cornelia bluntly.
"Funny considering the damage Britannia did to Japan." replied Chiba angrily.
"Area...Japan has sakuradite to finance their revival." said Cornelia.
"Excluding the sakuradite stolen by Britannia!" snapped Chiba.
"Enough. This bickering is getting us nowhere." said Tohdoh.
The tension seemed to die a bit when Kaguya and Rakshata arrived.
"Rakshata." said Lloyd unhappy.
"Earl of Pudding." said Rakshata cautiously.
The two rival scientists stared each other down.
"I see you are doing well working for the Britannian government." said Rakshata.
"I see you are doing well working for the United Federation of Nations." said Lloyd.
"You know, I am still mad at you for the modifications you made to the Guren. You didn't have my permission." said Rakshata.
"I made it better." said Lloyd proudly.
Rakshata scowled angrily.
"Please keep it civil." requested Kaguya.
"Lloyd knows I can make him." stated Cecile.
The Earl of Pudding shuttered.
"How are you, Miss Sumeragi?" asked Nunnally.
"Trying to settle the Spratly Islands dispute between the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and China has been a headache." answered Kaguya flatly.
"The life of a diplomat." sighed Lloyd.
"You are friends with the Chinese Empress." noted Sayoko.
"And so, I'm accused of being bias." sighed Kaguya.
As if on cue, Empress Tianzi, Xingke and Xianglin arrived.
"Kaguya!" cried Tianzi happily.
Tianzi happily ran over to her friends.
"It's so good to see you." said Kaguya happily.
"I missed you." replied Tianzi.
"Prime Minister Oghi, I hope we can find time to discuss the Diaoyu Islands dispute." said Xingke.
"The Senkaku Islands can be discussed later." said Chiba.
"I would like to know why we are here exactly." said Xingke.
"I am afraid I do not know. Kallen put this together." answered Nunnally.
"Where is she?" asked Xianglin.
"She hasn't arrived yet." answered Zero.
Only a few minutes later, Kallen arrived and was greeted by everyone.
"I'm glad to see you all here." began Kallen.
"So, what's the deal?" asked Tamaki.
"I think we would all like to know why we are here." added Cornelia.
"There are still two people not here." said Kallen.
"Who's not here?" asked Oghi.
The sound of a photo being taken answered that question.
"We are here." answered Anya.
The former Knight of 6 had the former Lord Gottwald behind her.
"Jeremiah!" gasped Villetta.
"It has been a while." said Jeremiah.
"Hey! This guy fought for Emperor Lelouch!" cried Tamaki.
"I will not stay here if he's here!" declared Chiba.
"Empress Nunnally pardoned me if you recall." noted Jeremiah.
"It was an act of kindness." said Nunnally.
"And I am forever in your debt." said Jeremiah.
"I cannot stand your support for my brother, but I do admire your loyalty to Lady Marianne." mused Cornelia.
"It's better you don't know the truth, your highness. Your heart would be shattered too." thought Jeremiah mournfully.
"Now we live on an orange farm." said Anya.
"It's simple, honest work." said Jeremiah proudly.
"He's probably still planning against us!" snapped Tamaki.
"You dare question my loyalty?!" asked Jeremiah offended.
"Enough!" screamed Zero forcefully.
Everyone gave Zero their attention.
"Everyone is staying and we will be civil!" declared Zero.
A bunch of people grumbled, but nobody challenged him.
"Thank you." said Nunnally.
"The reason I called you here is because somebody sent me this." said Kallen.
Kallen showed off a DVD box set. It had several of the people on it with the Demon Emperor present. This was followed by confused shouts.
"Quiet!" cried Zero.
"Why is Lelouch dressed like Zero?" asked Rivalz confused.
"He was Zero." answered Cornelia angrily.
"No way!" cried Rivalz.
"I should have known." said Milly flatly.
A thought hit Milly.
"If Lelouch was Zero, then who's this?" asked Milly.
"I would like to know that too." said Cornelia.
"The person behind the mask doesn't matter. What's important are the ideals Zero stands for." said Kaguya.
"I can't believe we went to school with Zero. I wonder if Rolo knew." said Rivalz.
"Who's Rolo?" asked Nina confused.
"Lelouch's little brother." answered Milly.
"Lelouch didn't have a brother." noted Nina.
"It was just me and big brother." added Nunnally.
"It seems some here are still under the effect of Geass." mused Jeremiah.
Jeremiah used his Geass Canceler. Zero moved back to make sure was out of range.
"Nunnally. Lelouch's little sister." said Rivalz stunned.
"How could we forget you?!" asked Milly distressed.
"Geass." answered Lloyd.
"You keep saying that like it means something." replied Rivalz.
"That's because it does." said Tohdoh solemnly.
"I am sure this will explain." said Kallen.
"I remember now..." said Villetta.
"What do you remember?" asked Oghi concerned.
"Lelouch used his Geass to make me give him my Knightmare." answered Viletta.
"What?" asked Tamaki confused.
"During the razing of Shinjuku under Prince Clovis." answered Viletta.
Nearby, Guilford avoided looking at Cornelia.
"He used Geass to assist. I am sorry." said Guilford regretfully.
"It is fine. He used it on me to see if I knew anything about Lady Marianne's assassination." replied Cornelia.
Meanwhile, a certain ninja maid smiled faintly.
"So that is how he used Geass on me. I should have expected something so brilliant from him." thought Sayoko.
"I don't remember anything." said Tamaki confused.
"Neither do I." mused Oghi confused.
"It seems we weren't under his spell." mused Rakshata.
"We had to be!" declared Chiba.
"The evidence seems to point otherwise." mused Xingke.
"Look, let's just watch this and see what it says." said Kallen.
As they began, C.C. watched from outside the palace.
"Please work." whispered C.C.
A/N: That's where we'll end chapter one. I want to stress this takes place in the original universe not the new movie/Resurrection universe. I find the introduction chapter awkward and it should improve from here on out. Next time, we start. Please review
