Hey guys and welcome to a new commission piece: Naruto and Predator series. Because there's basically a chunk of stuff I need to create/fill in for, this is just a reference page more than anything else to explain things that are going on and give people an idea of things.
I am doing it this way as I have read quite a few Naruto/Predator fics (not all of them that good) and I liked this kind of set up in bunji the wolf's "Eyes of the Predator" fic. While there may be some similarities, I am NOT copying/plagiarizing anyone, there's going to be overlap as it's the same kind of source material then we each go our own way with things
So let's get on with it, shall we.
Plot: Naruto is rescued/taken in by the Predator/Yautja Race and raised as one of their own where he quickly begins showing his capabilities.
Confirmed Pairings: Mei Terumi, Yoshino Nara, Yugito Nii, Tsume Inuzuka, Hana Inuzuka, Kurenai Yuhi, Anko Miterashi, Yugao Uzuki, Kushina Uzumaki, Mikoto Uchiha, Tsunami, Rin Nohara, Fu, Karui, Samui, Konan, Karin Uzumaki, Ayame, Tsunade Senju, and Shizune Kato.
There will be Predator/Yautja Women paired, but since the Predator/Yautja have no confirmed females named, they're essentially gonna be OCs, which also ties into the fact that their overall culture, hierarchy, and some other items are going to be built by me too as there's not a ton of information to go off of.
Naruto will become a half breed of the Yautja, which will cause him some problems as half breeds aren't looked on favorably very often as they're viewed as weaker than purebloods.
THE PREDATOR/YAUTJA SPECIES
The Species known as the Predator/Yautja (and sometimes the Hiss) are centered on their love and devotion to trophy hunting of various species that can prove to be a threat to them in some way while at the same time, they can't be killed as simply as stepping on them. Among these prey are Humans and Xenomorphs aka the Aliens, who are classified as the greatest prey/enemy of the Yautja species. The majority of the species is always on the lookout for the next great hunt, the next unique trophy, and the next prey that will push them to be more skilled hunters.
When one or more of their hunters fall during the hunt or in combat, they will watch the footage recorded through the Hunter Masks to learn what caused it and see if the prey was just better than the hunter or if they found someway to outsmart the tech that Predators will use. Case in point was when a Predator fell during a hunt on the Earth territory of Guatemala, the Predator society learned it was partly due to the chief prey at the time figuring out how to block his heat signature from the Predator's optics and thus other forms of sensors were created such as the Heartbeat Sensor. However, in a Xenomorph hunt it is imperative/crucial that a Hunter ensure they are not infected by a Face Hugger and create a Predalien, which is the most hated unholy abomination in the eyes of the Predator race.
The Predators are sentient, humanoid but at the same time reptilian or amphibian in nature and they breathe an atmosphere similar to Earth's. but as seen above their technological level is far, far more advanced than humanity's. They use this tech primarily for travel across the galaxy, medical, and hunting prey using any means they deem as still honorable/fair to use against prey with the typical trophy being the skulls, and spines if the prey has one, said prey. Although there have been Predators that take the skin of their prey as the trophy.
BIOLOGY AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
While generally uniform in basic appearance, the Predator race does have a variety of traits and features across the spectrum. The features that are always the same is physically fit, webbed hands with claws, dreadlock like tendrils, reptilian/amphibian like skin, large elongated foreheads, and being taller than most humans.
Height: It is typical for males to not be under 7 foot 6 inches tall but not taller than 8 foot 3 inches tall, there have been exceptions as genetics aren't ever 100% on things. For females, height is rarely ever under 8 feet 6 inches while rarely exceeding 11 feet, again exceptions have been seen but are not too common.
Builds: Like with Humans, the builds and body types vary to an extent. You will not see many, if any, overweight or skinny Predators. The couple that are overweight are usually those who are unable to train and move well as they're recovering from an injury and those that are skinny are usually newborns. Every other Predator is physically fit in some way and there is some varying degrees as some hunters focus on pure strength, others speed and agility, and still others like to be all around. For females, they have a range in the assets department except that they usually have perfect breeding hips, but breasts are rarely smaller than D cups, children being the exception of course, with the largest known being a set of J cups.
Skin: The color of skin is drastically different compared to most species. Green, yellow, grey, black, red, brown, and one major color with spots or other markings of another color are all common among the Predators. There are a few colors here and there that show up that are not common such as blue, white, and even purple, but it is merely skin color and has no bearing on them beyond not being able to hide easily in an environment if they're stealth tech fails.
Biological Notes: The Predators are a race that strive to make themselves an apex race. They push themselves and work to make themselves stronger, even untrained Predators are physically stronger than some of the fittest humans, the strongest known Predators have been counted as able to stop a charging Elephant and throw it like it was a ball. One other unique aspect is that their blood is bioluminescent giving a similar color and look to a green glowstick/glow light. They're ideal air is 1% more Oxygen and 4% more Nitrogen rich than Earth's atmosphere, but such a chance isn't debilitating to a Predator and can be circumvented if necessary through a breathing apparatus attached to the hunter masks.
Their claws are razor sharp and have been known to even leave marks in solid steel. It is unknown if this is natural or if Predators intentionally sharpen them so they always have some form of weapon if a hunt goes poorly. Some anomalies among Predators is that some are born with thermal vision, some night vision, and some a bit of a hybrid of the two and that's how they see naturally.
Life Span: While no confirmed limit to age has ever been established, the life span of a Yautja is a bit ridiculous. 300 years is still classified as a toddler/child while the oldest confirmed Yautja was 2500 years old. The reasons for there being no confirmed limit to their age is due to their lifestyle making it very unlikely for them to die of old age. Also, due to this long lifespan, it is not unusual for a hunter/huntress to wait a century or more before attempting to do a Xenomorph hunt due to the danger and risk involved.
CULTURAL AREAS
Relationships: Relationships aren't like Humans are, they still mate and give birth the same, but while Humans settle for one wife (in most societies anyway) it is not uncommon for Hunters to have multiple mates and for those mates to even have multiple mates themselves. It is actually encouraged and expected for a male to find females to impregnate them and give birth to new generations of hunters, this is only further encouraged if the male and female have both shown great capabilities in hunts. It is not unheard of for veteran warriors to have sired over a hundred offspring (referred to as sucklings or hatchlings). However, a general consensus is that relationships do NOT take precedence or priority over the hunt and the duty to the race as a whole should war or some other incident occur.
A key item though is that the female has the right to refuse any male attempting to gain her attention as a mate and any attempt to force the female to mate is seen as one of the most heinous crimes imaginable. If a female has a mate already, she can still accept the male as a mate, have the male perform some task to prove himself, or even have him fight her current mate to see if he is worthy enough. While the latter doesn't usually result in death, it has happened, but it is nothing compared to when two females feud over a mate as it can get bloody and dangerous for many.
Religion: Predators are polytheistic and have gods for everything, though most have to do with battle or the hunt. Their version of death/the Grim Reaper is an entity known as the Black Warrior, who is seen as the eternal adversary of every hunter. Great hunters are able to get him to a draw or even win, but he just regroups and comes again claiming every being from greatest hunter to lowest fledgling.
General Culture: While as a race there is no unifying leader, each subsect of the race, referred to as Tribes, has a High Elder and High Eldress who make the decisions for the betterment of the Tribe and it's distinct clans. While communication between leaders is done, unless a major threat is known, most tribes stick to themselves except for when the Proving Grounds are to be used.
The Proving Grounds are a sacred area/sector of the home planet in which a Predator, or a rare occurrence of a human or some other sentient race, proves themselves worthy of either higher status or to live among the Tribe of their master/leader. A Predator may also do a trial there to regain honor and redeem themselves if they have broken the law or the code of the Tribe/Race.
Each tribe is different in some and many ways, some may be Patriarchal, some Matriarchal, some may have a council, and still others may have multiple leaders for different aspects such as warriors, hunters, scientists, engineers, Judges/Adjudicators, etc etc. Another difference between Tribes is that some hunters take different beasts as pets/hunting partners similar to how Humans use dogs or falcons to aid them in hunting. Regardless, it is a crime in almost every tribe to bring dishonor upon a hunter or huntress regardless of status unless you have proof that they've been breaking the code or law. One variant is that some tribes have performed surgery on some of their hunters to place some of the visions of their hunting masks into their eyes allowing them to still have some of their tools even if their masks are damaged or destroyed.
The main commonality between them all are the love of the hunt, the code, and rules for hunting that they live by. 1) Never hunt the young: 1-15 years of age.
2) Do not hunt the old: 70 and up
3) Never hunt prey that is unarmed.
4) Never Hunt the female (it is classified as dishonorable) especially if she is pregnant with child. Even if she is armed, you do not touch her as she could be protecting her young as all mothers should.
5) Never hunt that which is sick or ill, it is unfair and there is no honor in killing a prey that is weak through no action of your own.
6) You hunt for sport, not for the pleasure or enjoyment of killing.
7) You do not steal the kill of another hunter, it is dishonorable.
8) You do NOT EVER hunt or harm your brothers and sisters of the hunt without expressed permission from an elder such as a trial by combat, a fight to prove yourself to a mate, or some other occurrence.
9) You do not hunt prey that is wounded through no action of your own, is it dishonorable and unsporting to hunt prey that has been weakened before you even engaged it.
There have been exceptions to these rules in the past, but for those like sick or elderly then a Predator does not take a trophy as it is a sign of respect to let the prey go down fighting than to wither away.
HOWEVER, the uniform exception for all of these are the Xenomorphs and the Predaliens. Regardless of age, injury, gender, or anything a Xenomorph is to be killed on sight with the ONLY exception being that you wound it so it will flee back to its hive and/or Queen and you can wipe it out. Predaliens are to be destroyed immediately on sight, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Heroes: The Yautja/Predators only have one truly great hero among their kind: Kaail aka the Alpha Predator/First Hunter. Long, long, long ago, the Yautja were enslaved to a vile race known as the Amengi who used them for sport, construction, amusement, and basically all other things that people used slaves for but those who were to fight were chemically enhanced to do so while also being trained. Kaail was the first to get to freedom and using techniques and armaments he stole from the Amengi, he began stalking and killing their kind one by one as he rescued and recruited many more Yautja from different colonies until he had an army and led them against the invading Amengi. Kaail, as a means of degrading his prey and showing his own prowess, skinned one of the more cruel Amengi and used the exoskeleton to fashion his own armor. When the invaders were slaughtered, Kaail and the others took their technology for their own and began improving themselves. For his deeds and actions, Kaail was the first, and last, king of the Yautja people and to ensure that no invaders could sweep in as easily as the Amengi had done, he made ensured that all Yautja would learn to fight and how to stalk and hunt prey should the planet be invaded again. However, he never wished for his people to be like the Amengi: To be cruel for enjoyment, to kill for pleasure, to harm and use other races just because they could do so, to attack races that were not capable of fighting back, and more and thus the first parts of the code and laws were formed and thus the Yautja race never tried to colonize new worlds for the longest time and when they did, it was worlds that had no true sentient life on them. After Kaail's passing, and subsequent end of his line as the chemical improvements had rendered those Yautja sterile, his captains for the rebellion each took a region or planet and built their own Tribe there each taking with them their own preference and knowledge from Kaail. Out of respect for their great leader and brother, they all made a pact to never go to war with each other nor seek to forcefully unite the people under one banner again. As such, it is no surprise to see at least one statue of Kaail in each Tribe's major city, both as a reminder of where they came from and to inspire young hunters to be the greatest of hunters that they can be.
CASTES AND RANKS OF PREDATOR SOCIETY
Hatchlings: Newborns up to the age of 16 when they truly begin training and learning to be warriors and hunters.
Unblooded: Those over the age of 16 that have begun to learn to hunt and even participated in hunts that didn't involve Xenomorphs or any kills of the same threat level.
Blooded: A Hunter that has gained the right to bear a clan symbol upon their flesh and have successfully hunted at least one Xenomorph. A hunter may participate in a hunt where there is a chance or a guarantee of Xenomorphs at any time after they turned 16. While not advised to do so before you've had some time to learn and go on other hunts, there is no law saying you can't go or participate and thus no one can stop you from going.
Elites: After being blooded, the next stage/rank achieved is usually that of Elite. In order to become an Elite, you must have survived many dangerous hunts, bagged many more trophies than the average hunter, and/or performed a great service to the entire Predator community such as killing any located Predaliens.
Retirees: While not common, retiring from the hunt can happen in numerous ways. 1) You've reached an age where you feel you've given your all to the hunt and have many trophies and there is no thrill in it anymore. 2) You've suffered an injury that makes you incapable of hunting properly anymore and you'd rather retire than disgrace the sacredness of the hunt. 3) You have decided to instead focus on raising and training your children to become greater hunters. 4) You have been given the honor/privilege/duty as an Adjudicator and thus have no time to truly hunt any more. There is never any disgrace involved in retiring as a true hunter knows their limits and capabilities and should be respected for knowing when they can no longer honor and enjoy the hunt.
Adjudicators: These are the law and admin workers of the Tribes. Usually, they work right under the High Elder and Eldress of the Tribe as well as being communication between Tribes should threats or criminals require alerting other Tribes. Most often, when not doing their duty, they take roles as teachers, trainers, tutors, and such for upcoming hunters that they see have potential. It is an anomaly for a Hunter to be made an Adjudicator without first being made a Clan Leader and not having participated in at least five Xenomorph Hive cleansings.
Clan Leader: As the name suggests, these are leaders of the Tribe's individual clans. However, it is not an easy thing to accomplish. First, only an Adjudicator may select a hunter for advancement to leader of a clan. Second, a hunter must have actively participated in a Xenomorph Hive Cleaning where said hive had more than 300 members within it and can only have done so with a maximum of two other hunters. Third, in order to participate in hive cleansing the hunter must have three or more Xenomorph Queen skulls as trophies. After ascending to Clan Leader, the Hunter may participate in more hive cleansings to bring further honor and glory to their tribe and raise their status within the caste system.
Hunt Master: A Hunt Master is typically those who set up and oversee hunts for the younger generation as they learn the ways of the hunt and "cut their teeth" on hunts to prepare for a Xenomorph hunt. Most Hunt Masters are hunters who have claimed many trophies and accolades, but have never ascended to a higher status. A Retiree can also be a Hunt Master as they do not actively participate in the hunts, more that they guide the young hunters for the hunt and pick known locations and prey for the hunters to test their skills on accordingly.
Ancients: Ancients are some of the most respected and veteran Hunters still alive. All of them have survived centuries of hunts and have accumulated accolades, trophies, and different honors. Ironically, they are also the least concerned by the hunt anymore as they've just gained so many trophies that there's no passion for it. However, they are still fearsome and great warriors, but their age and temperament have made them more compassionate, understanding, and disciplined than most other hunters. Many have even learned other/unique fighting and hunting techniques that they teach their clan members once they've proven themselves enough. A few Ancients even have coordinates for planets that haven't become public hunting grounds or were never entered into public charters, meaning there's unknown prey, environments, and challenges for hunters waiting out there for the ancients to let them play in.
Elders: The Elders are the leaders, royalty, authority, and all around in charge members of the Tribe. To reach the rank of Elder, you must be a Clan Leader and be among the most honored and respected clans of Tribe. Despite the name, the Elders are not always the oldest of the Tribe, but typically by the time a new Elder and Eldress needs to be chosen, there's no "young bloods" to compete. As an Elder, it is a Predator's job to look out for and ensure the continued thriving of the Tribe, but they must also be on watch to for threats to the race as a whole as well. Most often it is the Elders that engage in inter-tribe communication as there are Elders that only respect their own Tribe or other elders. While they can participate in hunts or even act as Hunt Master's, typically they don't unless it is vital that they do so in order to ensure that the Tribe isn't at risk of becoming leaderless. One precaution taken is that they do not leave their planet or territory without at least 5 Enforcers and 10 Elites each to ensure their protection and survival.
Bad Bloods: As the title suggests, Bad Bloods are criminals who have either escaped justice or were sentenced and then escaped their confines. One alternative to this title is Hunters that have been compromised in some manner such as brainwashing or being infected by a Face Hugger. Out of all the ranks and titles, this one is the most rare of all of them and the only way to regain their honor is to face their punishment, usually execution, with pride.
Enforcers: Enforcers serve two primary functions: Police the Tribe and protect the Elders at all costs. These are experienced hunters that have survived and conquered many hunts and have shown they are skilled in many forms of weapons and combat. When Bad Bloods are identified, a strike team of Enforcers is usually sent after them to either give them an honorable death or bring them back to stand before the Elders to face judgement or to give information that the Elders want. One final job they do is that when a planet has been identified as having an out of control Xenomorph population, an elite squad of them, usually ranging 10-20 depending on the severity and density of the population, is sent to cleanse the whole lot down to the last egg. It is unknown to the general populace who is an Enforcer and who isn't, only the Elders, maybe some Ancients and Adjudicators, and their fellow Enforcers know anyone who is a member and it is not something that is usually told, both for security and for less chance of information leakage.
Killers: Despite the name, this tribe is not known for killing other Predators, rather they have broken the code of conduct and laws of the Yautja by attempting to tame and train Xenomorphs as their personal attack dogs rather than putting them down immediately. While not as horrible as Heretics, it is still heavily frowned upon and causes dishonor and rage to be felt by many of the people as Xenomorphs are never to be allowed to live long enough to become a threat as typically Xenomorphs get smarter the older they get and more intelligence means more danger. However, the greatest danger is that a Xenomorph could age enough to become a Queen and thus create a hive and become a massive threat to whatever planet it resides on.
Predaliens: While not classified as a caste/rank of the Yautja species, they are still a part of the species. These are the unholy abominations of crossbreeding Xenomorphs with Predators and is classified as a mockery to their fellow hunters. There is no mercy or exceptions when it comes to these creatures, a Predator is to kill any and all that they find regardless of age, gender, or who the Predator that was used as a host was..
Heretics: These are rare, but not so rare that they aren't a threat. These Yautja are ones who believe that being turned into Predaliens is the next evolution of becoming greater hunters. They attempt to infect members of their clan to become Predaliens and tame/train them to be proud Yautja warriors rather than abominations in service to the Xenomorph swarm. These are the highest class of criminal in Yautja culture, even murdering the Elders isn't as severe as attempting what they've done as not only have they broken laws and codes of the Yautja race, but they've also spat on their religious beliefs as well.
TOOLS OF THE HUNT
While there are several tools, weapons, and gadgets that the Predators use, most end up hunting for over a century before they manage to collect/prove worthy of every single one there is. This is due to the fact that some are clan/elder status symbols and some are trophies from hunts that have been made into weapons and tools.
Bio-Helmet and Masks: The true staple of every Predator no matter how old, experienced, or skilled. Every Predator upon their first hunt is given a generic mask/helmet with the standard settings of thermal, night vision, and Xenomorph vision. However, there are numerous other vision modes such as Heartbeat, UV vision, Sound Vibration aka Echo vision, X-Ray, Tech Vision, Tracker, Drone Camera feed, and normal vision. The helmet/mask also acts as the targeting device for the shoulder mounted Plasma Caster and it has an audio recorder and speaker as a means of luring prey.
VISION MODES
Thermal: As one would expect, Thermal vision allows you to see heat signatures in whatever field of view you use. It is not perfect however as prey have hidden their body heat by covering themselves in mud, setting an area on fire and just standing with their backs to said fire, thermal suits, hiding in a pool of ice water, using fire extinguishers to cloud an area, and more.
Night Vision: As many know, Night Vision allows you to see in the dark, but its major flaw is that any light source blinds it which is something that gets taken advantage of when it's known they use Night Vision.
Xenomorph: Due to the acidic nature of the Xenomorph's blood, it leaves a signature that the Predators have learned to see/track as they do not show up on Night Vision, Thermal, Heartbeat, UV, Echo, Tech, or normal. X-ray can see them, but it can become muddied if there are other things in the way such as times where Xenomorphs have been hunted in catacombs where bones and other muck exists.
Heartbeat: As the name implies, it is a vision mode that can show the heartbeats in your field of vision up to a certain range, usually a couple hundred yards unless the Predator has something to boost the power and signal.
UV: While not common, it was a vision mode invented to track UV light/energy as a means of hunting certain prey in pitch black areas that Thermal and Night Vision wouldn't be of any help. To compensate a bit, it also has settings for intensity so even the smallest among of UV light can be seen/traced by the mask. It also served to help a Predator against an ambush by Government agents intent on capturing it as they filled the warehouse with a chemical agent that blocked night vision from working while at the same time having thermal gear to hide their heat signature.
Sound Vibration aka Echo: This vision mode works like a radar in the sense that it tracks sound waves and estimates where it originated from. It is not perfect as some humans have confused it by throwing rocks or other items to distract the Predator and either A) lure it away from them or B) make it reveal its position so they can launch their own attack.
X-Ray: Speaks for itself, it gives X-Ray vision to the user. It is not best for active hunting as you focus so much on distant sight you lose track of what's right next to you. Most hunters keep it as a back up to check if a prey is either injured or sick and there's no outward signs of it. One example was the interaction between one Charles Weyland and the Predator known as Scar: Scar saw that Weyland was heavily infected by disease and was going to leave him be as he wasn't a worthy kill. Of course, Weyland countered that sentiment by trying to set Scar on fire, but Scar made his death quick and didn't take a trophy from him afterwards.
Tech: This vision allows the user to literally see and track any and all technology within the range allotted, usually no more than a couple hundred yards. While not really suited for jungle hunting, the hunter in question may use it if they are looking for a base, ship, or any signs of technology that shouldn't be there. This could be to find a Bad Blood encampment or perhaps to help search for a fallen brother or sister of the hunt.
Tracker: Tracker is a multi-functional/setting vision mode. It is designed to track any evidence left behind by prey whether blood, tracks, pheromone signature, scents, or anything really. Think Detective Mode/Vision from the Batman Arkham Games.
Drone Camera: Hunters that use drones for hunting always have this function in being able to see through the drones' cameras/eyes. Typically, it and drones are not used for basic hunts where the target is known or if you're not expanding your hunt past a certain area, such as going to Earth and not hunting outside of a specific city. Even hunters who don't like to use drones will utilize them if they are on a planet without any plan, knowledge, or need to track prey that they've transported to that hunting ground.
Normal: Normal vision is used by hunters that wish to test themselves without an enhanced vision mode, but still want the protection of the mask against the likes of Face Huggers. As such, they are essentially looking through clear lenses in the masks without anything beyond maybe computer readout if necessary.
Cloaking Device aka Ghost Suit: Standard issue for all Predators that reflects light rays around the user to let them blend into the environment and out of the visible spectrum, but there have been cases of the eyes being seen at times. One major flaw is that water of any kind will cause the device to malfunction until the unit has become completely dry.
Wrist Blades: Another standard issue item for every Predator, they are typically the primary weapon for every Predator regardless of experience or preferred weapon. However, these blades vary from Predator to Predator whether they're serrated, long, short, smooth, acid etched, launchable, number of blades, and even more. There are also specialized ones such as fire, ice, and electric blades, but those can only be handed out/crafted for Predators that have received recognition from an Elder or someone who received recognition passes the blades down to a different hunter.
Self-Destruct Device: Standard issue for every Predator, no exceptions, so that if you are going to die or be captured, you can take your enemies with you or at the very least leave them nothing but ash. It is important to note, the device can either be a self-contained bomb or activate a self-destruct sequence on the ship used to go on the hunt. However, the ship method is only for solo hunters or when the very last hunter falls, one hunter cannot activate the self-destruct when other hunters are still active and they were part of the same crew/team on the ship. It is also worth noting that the Elders, and the Adjudicators through the Elders, can cancel the sequence or delay it if necessary. This is usually done so if an Unblood Hunter on their first hunt falls and wants to detonate their device, they don't end up killing other Hunters in the area that don't know about the danger. The devices can also be set for immediate detonation or for a countdown of varying lengths as there have been cases of a Hunter tossing the device into a Xenomorph Hive and then ran like hell to get out of the hive before it detonated.
Wrist Gauntlets: The final staple/standard issue item for every Predator. Wrist Gauntlets are a staple as they hold the Wrist Blades, works the cloaking, and is primary item of the gauntlet attachments plus the self-destruct device. Loss of the gauntlet really limits what the Predator has access to, especially since the gauntlet is the primary access key to the ships.
Net Gun: As the name implies, it's a firearm that launches nets… usually. There is a smaller variant that can be attached to one of the gauntlets, but it's limited on the size of the net that can be used. All nets are highly durable and razor thin that they will cut apart anything when any king of pressure is applied. There are multiple nets to choose form as well as there are some that simply tangle a target and keep them off balance, some that spike/anchor themselves to the wall or ground, some are high speed that will cut through or into a target if it hits, and there are some others as well.
Shoulder Mounted Plasma Caster: One of the most powerful weapons of the Predators, usually a basic model is gifted to Unblooded Hunters when they participate in their first hunt that involves Xenomorphs or prey of the same threat level. There are a variety of designs/looks with the Plasma Casters with it usually being that each Clan has their own unique look to show respect to their ancestors and family, but there are some that are unique to that particular Hunter as there are those who stylize their armaments out of respect for their prey. Each Plasma Caster usually has three functions: 1) A powerful concentrated blast at a mid to semi-long range, it's not gonna help against a group of enemies but it will take down a tough target. 2) A powerful explosive shot that is an area of effect type, good for groups of enemies or to clear an area a bit. 3) A precision shot at a long range, not going to pierce certain hides or armors, but it will punch through the target cleanly. One drawback is that if your helmet/mask is damaged, the Caster will be nearly useless as your targeting program will be ruined.
Handheld Plasma Caster: A depowered Plasma Caster that was made into a handheld version. It fires three plasma rounds in a spread fashion that can deal damage making it more ideal for close range combat, but the damage is not as much as the Shoulder Mounted one will inflict.
Dagger: While not really a staple, a Predator usually has some form of knife/dagger on them to let them skin a target rather than trying to use their wrist blades to do so. Material can range from basic, by Predator standards, to acid resistant allowing a Predator to skin a Xenomorph without losing their blade. A few Predators have even trained with their knives/daggers to be able to face certain prey in one on one combat.
Speargun: The Speargun is a useful tool for any Predator as it launches a high powered spike/spear/harpoon that can easily puncture steel or stone. There are three variants of the gun: Gauntlet mounted, pistol sized, and rifle sized, obviously the stopping power of each increases with size as do the spears. Only a hunter who knows EXACTLY where to aim on a larger/well armored prey would try to use a gauntlet or pistol sized spear and weapon. The spears come in a variety whether releasing anchors to keep a target pinned, electrical to stun or knock out a target by not puncturing deeply, exploding, barded, serrated, and more.
Smart Disk: A deadly and graceful weapon to be sure, but it does require training and discipline to wield it. In the most basic of descriptions, it is a highly advanced chakram weapon: A Predator throws the item and the spinning blade pierces/slices through the target. However, unlike a normal chakram, this one will return to the user via connection to the wrist gauntlets, which also is where the training comes in as the Predator must catch the weapon without it harming them. More advanced Smart Disks can target multiple targets at once and will go after each before returning to the user. Also, like chakrams, it can be wielded as a melee weapon if necessary or desired and with leave deep cuts even in solid stone.
Ancient Disk: The Ancient Disk is essentially the Smart Disk but stupider… literally. It is an advanced alien Chakram that unless you can pull a Xena move, the disk ain't flying back to you. This is usually the model that new hunters use until they've proven themselves capable enough to use a Smart Disk. However, there are quite a few hunters who will take one and still use it finding that the time training with it had made them comfortable with it or they are hunters who want a simpler/lower tech loadout for a hunt.
Shuriken: This alternate version of the Ancient Disk holds six 10-inch retractable blades that are strong and sharp enough to imbed the Shuriken a good 4-5 inches into solid stone. The weapon is not a returning weapon, merely a throwing weapon that can be used for melee if the situation calls for it. It is not uncommon for a Predator that uses these to carry at least 4 on their person.
Yautja Bow: What is a hunter without a bow or a gun? Well, the gun has been covered, the Plasma Caster, and now we are at the bow. The bow requires a Yautja's strength to fully utilize it as the draw on it is nothing to sneeze at. The bow comes with notched setting in that it will bend and contort, without breaking, as needed for however far back you draw the arrow. A fully drawn back normal arrow can easily puncture a 6-inch stone wall with little difficulty. There are also a range of arrows from straight forward penetrating arrows, explosive, shock, trip wire, incendiary, harpoon, high velocity, armor piercing, and more. While many a hunter prefer the Plasma Casters, there are several that enjoy the silent and disciplined art of the bow.
Combistick: Despite the name, this is not some simple stick, it is an elegant and refined double-sided spear weapon that can collapse into a small handle as seen when human Alex "Lex" Woods helped the Yautja warrior Scar kill a Xenomorph Queen in Antarctica and was rewarded an intricate Combistick by the Elder. The weapon is fast, brutal, sharp, and a master of the weapon can stand against any other type of warrior there is. Most come standard to a hunter, but some prefer to stick with their wrist blades or another weapon. Like the wrist blades, there are a variety of styles though most more intricate ones show status and prestige of the hunter. As it is a spear, it is not uncommon for a warrior to decide to hurl it at a target either.
Glaive: The sister of the Combistick, it is also double sided but the blades are much wider in variety and style and not all of Glaives are collapsible like all Combisticks are. The chief/primary difference between the two is that the Glaive is a melee weapon and is never thrown at a target.
Maul: Despite what the name invokes to the imagination, this is not some heavy or massive blunt or smashing weapon. No, it is more aligned with a tonfa of Earth in that you have a handle and then the weapon itself runs along your forearm while pointing outward from you. In this case, the weapon is a single blade pointing out and a pair of blades shaped almost like a forked tongue flowing along your arm. Both single and dual wielding have been done with this weapon as they are light, fast, and brutal when used in combat as the edges can easily slash into stone and not dull at all.
Whip: While not common among Predators, the whip is versatile and useful in a variety of ways such as use as a shortrange grappling hook. However, the greatest asset of the whip is that it's immune to the Xenomorph's acidic blood. Sometimes this is the case of the whip being made from the tail of a Xenomorph, but there are others made of different hides or bones that can resist the blood just as well. The whip comes in three different forms of a single whip, a tri-whip, and a cat of nine tails, all of which can be barded or bladed along the length and tip or have weights to make the impact that much harder.
Gauntlet Drones: These drones are close to mid-range types for scouting or tracking prey into an area the Predator can't or doesn't want to go, such as a water source that would cause them to lose the function of their Cloaking devices for a time. However, the drones aren't just for scouting and tracking, the drones can attack or be used as ambush weapons as they can have small mounted weapons such as blades or low grade Plasma Casters. All drones regardless of function also come with a self-destruct device that could easily blow a hole in a solid steel wall.
Gauntlet Shield: A preferred item for those who like to have direct combat against certain prey. A collapsible shield is installed in the gauntlet and can be deployed to be used in conjunction with any weapon or as a means of defending themselves at the last minute from an attack. The shield can also be launched via the Wrist Launcher and can easily cut through prey given it's sharpened edge and some also have deployable spikes.
Wrist Launcher: A useful, but not quite standard addition to the Wrist Gauntlet that allows the Predator to launch either the Wrist Blades, the shield, or preloaded projectiles from said gauntlet.
Healing/Medic Kit: A standard issue for every hunter, even the headstrong and cocky keep one handy just in the off chance that an accident or even an ambush occurs. No hunt, not matter how many times one does it, is never a sure or certain thing and thus best to always ere on the side of caution than to possibly meet an unworthy death.
Audio Decoy: As the name suggests, this is a decoy device that gives an audio recording and is usually tied into other tools and equipment, but it can be used as its device.
Bear Trap: As the name suggests, it's a pressure plate trap that snaps shut on a leg or anything that goes into it. However, unlike most human bear traps, they have varying degrees of strength and intensity as some could snap clean through a human leg while others will bite in far enough to slow/maim them. Still others have been connected to other traps such as flares or snares to spook more prey or truly incapacitate one member of the herd, or in human case make other waste time helping the wounded while the Predator closes in.
Motion Detector: A universal tool for a Predator as it can be set in conjunction with a number of things whether traps, alerts, reconnaissance, or whatever. It's especially useful if you are herding prey towards a specific area/location or want to know if someone enters a territory you're using as a camp/base.
Mines: The Predator mines have a much large range of effects and uses than what Humans are used to. They have mines meant to mark a target for tracking, incapacitating them through a variety of ways such as noise or concussion, lethal, and stunning. Each Predator has their preferred type, but it is completely uncommon for a Predator to not have some of the other types just as a precaution.
Variety of traps: Predators have a wide variety of traps to choose from ranging from the Beat Traps to the various mines to snares to various classical traps and ambush techniques. Most of the time the traps are limited by the Predator's own imagination and ingenuity.
Among all those tools, are weapons that have either been inspired by prey of different Predators or they were trophies that the Predators had upgraded to their standards to be used in combat.
Elden Blade: A very rare and unique among any of the items listed, it is a blade that one of the Elders holds from their centuries of hunting that they then pass down to a younger hunter that they feel is worthy of it,
Hook Tool: Despite the name, it looks more like an Ice Axe as there's a bladed/hooked edge on one side and then a flatter side good for pummeling. A few Predators have use this as a form of grappling hook as the bladed/hooked edge will bite into nearly any surface and give you an anchor to climb or use it in any fashion you desire.
Battle Hammer: This two handed smashing weapon was first acquired during the apex of the Viking era where many a Hunter found worthy prey to battle against and took many trophies. A proud warrior Yautja found the hammer to be to his liking and had one commissioned for himself, centuries later and while not the most commonly taken weapon it is far from the least used.
Battleaxe: Another item taken from the age of the Vikings. Unlike quite a few designs though, the Predators never developed a double-headed axe. This one is more akin to a single hand axe, but given the superior strength of the Yautja, it is much more weighted and was elongated just enough to allow two hands to be used. As a result, this thing smashes just as much as it chops, meaning even if you block the blade, the full weight and force colliding with you can easily cause damage.
War Club: This weighted weapon has seen use in many different eras, but the most notable was when the United States was still being settled and the various tribes of Native Americans roamed feely. The club is weighted to allow staggering blows while also having a thin bladed edge to give a focal point for the power of the swing to connect with.
Katana: Many a Predator hunted and roamed Japan during the prime of the Samurai and Ninja era. There was a time that they were considered the only Humans worth hunting and it showed as hundreds of blades would be mounted on the walls of various hunters. It was no real surprise that there were times Hunters fell to the discipline, strength, and skill of the Samurai and it was no surprise when some Hunters began practicing with the blades too and found their own form of swordsmanship with it. The typical Katana blade of a Predator is collapsible into the handle to make it more travel friendly, but it is durable and razor sharp allowing the Predator to get a quick and clean kill on any target of the blade's deadly edge.
Sickle: Despite the similarities, this one does not come from any trophy or sighting on Earth. Rather, it is made in honor of the weapon that the First Hunter, Kaail aka the Alpha Predator, used when he began his hunting and uprising against the Amengi tyrants. The blade is lightweight, sharp, and easy to use as it is a rather straightforward way.
With that I think we're done.
Hope you all are excited for this and hopefully I'll have chapter one (and updates for other works) out for you soon.
LATER!
